961  Economy / Services / Re: I'm a Bitcoin Miner Maintenance Engineer looking for a job on: November 16, 2022, 04:57:35 PM
I have nearly a year of maintenance experience and can maintain the mining machines of the Whatsminer Ant series. I am currently working in a mine in Paraguay. Due to visa issues, I may have to leave next month. , due to language problems, it is difficult for me to find other mining farms' needs for mining machine maintenance, so I come here for help
Unfamiliar with recruitment websites in each region, do not know where to go to learn about job opportunities

Please let me know if you have questions/comments/suggestions.
  • It'd be better to see and scroll through the list of available pairs on the search field [at the moment we need to manually type it].
  • Various filtering options for the news tab [e.g. based on a certain period, source and etc...].
    • It'd be nice to also see an RSS feed for this section.
  • Dark mode [as it stands, everything is way too bright].
963  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: 15% discount on Trezor hardware wallets on: November 16, 2022, 09:02:06 AM
The chip shortage might not be that big of a problem as it was during the COVID times.
They probably loaded up with microchips when they were available for cheaper prices, and chip shortage is not so severe as it was few months ago or last year,
than they increased device prices a lot after that, so now they can afford to offer bigger discounts.
I think I had an unrealistic expectation that once the chip shortage issue settles, they'd revert prices to the pre-covid phase.
- At this rate, I wouldn't be surprised to see the Model R with a price tag of $350+ on its launch date!

I wouldn't buy any of their devices now, even with big discounts.
~Snipped~
but I think there are better options on the market right now.
Even if you didn't own the Model One?
~Snipped~
For the most part, tama ka pero may ilan pa tayong crypto-friendly banks [apart from digital banks] na pwede tayong umasa na one day mag bibigay sila ng ganitong loan: Philippines Crypto Friendly Banks
Note: I prefer not to vouch for them kaya mas maganda na mag tanong sa mismong mga banks na may positive score doon sa listahan!
965  Other / Off-topic / Re: Would you use this Twitter service? on: November 15, 2022, 04:04:58 PM
You enter the app, connect with Twitter (must be the profile account) and register a profile in the app.
I'm not a back-end coder by any means, but there must be some risks [e.g. hack, leaks and etc...] in connecting our Twitter accounts through third-party apps, am I right?

The profile creator will see others users proposals of content and can accept or not.
How are you going to handle the users that intentionally reject good proposals [through your app or Telegram] while also using the exact same content directly through Twitter?
966  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2022-11-03] Plans Now Let Workers Put Retirement Money Into Cryptocurrency on: November 15, 2022, 02:27:03 PM
What I could not find, anywhere on either of the sites (and it may not be available if you are not a plan member) are the fees and rates and other things.
I'm not sure if what I'm about to post is from the official website of ForUsAll or not, but I found the following information concerning fees:

  • Crypto user platform fee:
    0.083% of crypto balance/mo

    Crypto user transaction fee:
    0.15% per trade
  • What are the fees for the Self-Directed Crypto Window?

Custody and administration fee: An annual fee of 1% of the average daily balance in the crypto window once the crypto window is activated with funds. This fee will be billed quarterly.

Plan services fee: In addition to the 1% annual custody and administration fee, the employee will continue to pay a plan services fee on the assets they hold in the Self-Directed Crypto Window.

Cryptocurrency trades: When you place a trade, you will be charged a trading fee that is based on the monthly trading volume of all of ForUsAll’s clients during the prior month. The maximum trading fee is 0.50%.

I just found out that employees have to pass a quiz [17:57 to 18:14] in order to access the crypto window [I haven't checked recently what Fidelity has done, but AFAICR, they didn't have such a thing in place].
967  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2022-10-19] Europe to ban crypto mining this winter on: November 15, 2022, 11:00:36 AM
What is the difference between a gamer that are running a massive gaming rig and a smaller Crypto miner running a GPU rig to mine Alt coins? (At least the heat from the mining rig are being used for something and it's paying for other expenses)  Roll Eyes

Will they ban Gamers too, because they are using the same GPU's.
As a competitive gamer [somewhat] and a former miner, I do know for a fact that "sometimes" my GPU produces more heat in comparison with what I was getting back in the day for mining... It's also worth noting that I was using MSI Afterburner to slightly underclock my GPUs for the latter [I'm doing exactly the opposite of it for gaming (to get the most out of it)]. To answer your main question, I've never played continuously [24/7] and I'm pretty sure that's also the case with most gamers out there and that's the main reason why they can easily distinguish one from the other.

Update:
They produced less heat because you underlock them so they would also draw in less energy.
You're right... I should've been clearer that I was referring to my case only and not to everything in general [my bad].
968  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: 15% discount on Trezor hardware wallets on: November 15, 2022, 09:42:49 AM
Something is telling me that we are going to see even bigger discounts than the 15% the company organized at the beginning of November.
I also have the same feeling [in the previous three years, they gave bigger discounts (2019 = 30%, 2020 = 20% and 2021 = 20% but not for the HWs)], but at the same time, I'm wondering how could they afford to give bigger discounts while there are still ongoing issues with chip shortages?!
969  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Hardware wallets can steal your seed! on: November 15, 2022, 08:05:23 AM
As a protection from this attacks Shift Crypto and Blockstream are working on Anti-Klepto protocol that is adding additional randomness by the host device.
Not sure if it's just a coincidence that it overlaps some of the recent events with a certain exchange, but it's interesting that they suddenly "mentioned it again after a very long time"!
- It's worth noting that Blockstream uses a slightly different term: Anti-Exfil: Stopping Key Exfiltration
970  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: CoinCloud scammed me. on: November 14, 2022, 06:19:43 PM
A CoinCloud ATM did not give me the $100 I sold my ₿ for. Going to the URL they texted me, the ATM says: "Error: The transaction has already expired", but the ₿ transaction confirmed!
Does the URL lead to a page that clearly shows the Tx ID and the address that you were supposed to send it to as well or it only shows the status of the transaction with just a label?
- Sorry if I'm asking a question, but I'm basically after anything that can be used as proof.

Their SMS support #, (855) 264-5046‬, is unresponsive; support@coin.cloud hasn't responded to me after weeks.
Have you tried calling their client support line instead [855-264-2046]?
- I noticed they keep pointing users toward it on both "Twitter" and "Trustpilot".
971  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Ledger Server Problems on: November 14, 2022, 02:18:31 PM
Even if Ledger server is not working, one can use his Ledger with Electrum.
You won't be able to use Ledger with Electrum when ledger servers are not working, no transactions are possible in that case (scalability issues  Cheesy).
Now I'm confused Cheesy... Which one of these comments is accurate? I do know that for the set up process, you need to "install the latest version of the Bitcoin app" but other than that, why it has to rely on their servers while there are plenty on Electrum?

973  Local / Pamilihan / Re: Coins.ph Official Thread on: November 14, 2022, 09:12:34 AM

974  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [Warning]: Laplas, new clipboard malware on: November 12, 2022, 05:33:16 PM
And what makes it dangerous is that this Clipboard malware has the capability to used pre or post fix, so
It reminds me of the "EthClipper" malware from last year and for some reason, it doesn't seem to have any kind of support for Taproot [Bech32m] addresses [Figure 12].

We need to be vigilant for all the time and always check the installed software so that we will not possibly get the bad ones which can cause harm to us.
It's best to check for such things "prior to" downloading/installing them!
975  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Will Hardware Wallet Manufacturers Leak Customer’s Email Data? on: November 12, 2022, 03:18:59 PM
What do you think? Will I get any spam emails,
Now that you've laid your plans on the table, I'm no longer sure it could lead to accurate results [since some of them have representatives on this forum, it would've been better not to disclose it until a month or a few has passed].

and who is the likely culprit causing it?
Cough... Led... Cough... ger Tongue
976  Local / Pamilihan / Re: Mga Listahan ng mga Games na may Satoshi Reward on: November 11, 2022, 10:12:09 AM
@lionheart78
977  Other / Archival / Re: [BIG LIST] Hardware wallets (80+) on: November 10, 2022, 05:58:20 PM
Their ".com" domain extension contains more information about their HW and to those who might be interested, there was a little discussion [#111 to #128] about it back in July of this year.
978  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Union Bank - Sinimulan na ang Bitcoin at Ethereum Trading on: November 10, 2022, 06:42:23 AM
I love this if it happens , having Wallet from a Bank ?  to provide for our crypto assets specially Bitcoin and Ethereum?
maybe there are lots to come dahil Union Bank ang isa sa pinaka crypto friendly bank sa Pinas.
979  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2022-10-19] Europe to ban crypto mining this winter on: November 09, 2022, 05:28:51 PM
but how the government now if I mining cryptocurrency, I mean if i small home maybe they probably don't know what i am doing
CMIIW, but by saying "small home", I think you were referring to those who live in apartments and the answer to your question depends on a few things... If you happen to be living in one, you shouldn't underestimate the power of your neighbors [nothing stops them from reporting you, especially in apartments that have both thin walls and bad flooring (apart from the noise issues, there are also vibration issues and the one who lives beneath your mining room, might feel some of it)]!

You might want to also refer to what @LeGaulois and @stompix posted with regard to overconsumption and continuous activities!
