I don't think most people here understand simple economics. IF Cache will get all of XC's unique features and development 1-1 (and share the same developers) that effectively doubles the XC money supply. That will drag the price down of XC immediately as it means the very cheap Cache right now is actually equivalent to XC more or less.

People who fear this are selling.

I am holding onto my coins for the time being until atcsecure clarifies. The statements that have been made so far can be interpreted in different ways.

I interpreted it like "different crypto freaks working together" not as "xc and cache merging coins and halve The price by this"

When our code becomes open Source it will get ripped. So sharing with a partner before open Source and get top notch basecode back for this is fine..

That still effectively doubles the XC money supply.

And comparing with going open source is a flawed analogy. XC is still heavily under development and it's current value largely derives from it's unique features. By the time we go open source we will have built up a sizeable lead and community on any potential competitors + they won't be working with atcsecure. That's a whole different ballgame to sharing all our features and developer resources with another coin right now.

Seems there are a lot of idiots talking here, and they don't even understand shit about crypto currency.

Judging by their reaction to those VERY GOOD NEWS, seems they are blindly investing money into something that they don't understand even remotely.

FFS ppl, stop asking stupid and retarded questions, and stop crying..."uuuu...dev, you should ask the community (which ofc don't understand a shit about crypto currency), before planing such "hard to understand" thing (good things)...

Please, start to read a bit before asking stupid questions...

You are one pathetic human being.

You are the pathetic human beings, doing things without understanding shit...

You think like a child. Anyone who has a different opinion from your own is an idiot and stupid.  Roll Eyes

Now fuck off.

Love your donation! hope there will be a nice article coming out next week about the developments @ the beltway

A decision this big should be discussed beforehand with the community.

Are the devs going to launch XC2 and XC3 next month because they feel like it?
966  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][XC][OFFICIAL] X11/PoS/Privacy on: June 22, 2014, 04:38:08 PM
I don't like this for a few reasons:

1. This is adding a lot of confusion and complexity.

2. Having some kind of symbiotic relationship with another coin, sharing codebases is a freaking huge decision. How can the dev/s suddenly do this without first consulting with all of the people who have invested in XC?

3. Too early. Getting anonymity working and finished should be our priority.

IMO this is very dodgy that this has been done with some largely unknown coin. I read this forum every day and have never heard of Cache coin until now. If this is going to be done properly it should be done with a brand new coin from scratch.

I said yesterday I would be paying for a press release for XC and I stand by that. However I am really not happy with this sudden and unexpected development. There's not even a clear and cohesive announcement explaining everything simply.

Because it is obvious that the devs are trying to fix the coin.
This phrase right here speaks worlds about what is wrong with the heads of people complaining in this thread. The coin is not broken. It hasn't even been finished yet...

RC == Release Candidate! Exactly how far do people have to screw their heads up their asses to think it would work when it's not even halfway finished? Version ZERO.10.10.2

How can it be broken when it hasn't even been made yet? Let me show you that version number again 0.10.10.2

Fuck people, you're trying to move into a house that hasn't been built yet and complaining that you get wet when it rains...

This rant is not really directed at the person I quoted. The off-handed choice of words demonstrataes just how commonplace it has become to have wildly irrational expectations. Not only is the paint not dry, there isn't even a wall to paint... Only a complete lunatic would expect it to be stable, usable, and adoptable when it's version 0.1. We don't even have a validated Alpha-RC yet! For fuck's sake, get a damn clue!

Then the price correct downwards to reflect this utter state of incompletion, no?

Not good guys we seem to be on down trend.  This may be time to sell and buy back much cheaper. Many coins seem to be out performing XC.  Oh well hopefully it will rise again to new ATH but it doesn't seem like anytime soon.

I think you are wrong and I think we will see a new ATH within 1 month.  I am being dead serious.  XC is not a joke.

Not trying to be negative but I think many are moving on to other opportunities.  I haven't yet.  I may hold out to REV 2 but if it still doesn't turn upward then I'll move on.  Just being real.  Remember time is short play hard.

Looks like we're not going to see anything for months instead of weeks which was first promised. Not good with all the competition out there in the crypto community. Oh well such is life.

Not trying to be a jackaxx but..... there doesn't seem to be any indication that XC is in fact being showcased as described at the Bitcoin beltway conference other than this forum and publication issued from the XC team.  Pictures would help with the confidence level btw.  Images of the both and team at the conference would go a long way folks.. Just saying...

No worries guys.

Synechist and I are now conversing over email, to establish the best press release company to use. Synechist will post a BTC receiving address publicly in this topic as proof of payment.

This is my way of helping to promote XC. And I believe everyone can help in their own way whether it's posting here regularly, using their skills or donating a tiny amount of their XC towards projects.

The future of XC is bright.

Probably a shit ton of them giving how happy he was to give up the stake of accounts that were busted.

XC developers to showcase market-leading tech at Bitcoin in the Beltway

XCurrency core developers Dan Metcalf and Jasinlee will attend Bitcoin in the Beltway in Washington this weekend in order to showcase XC’s ground-breaking platform for private transactions, communication, and services.

XCurrency, the flexibly architected currency whose rapid pace of development has been met with a meteoric rise in popularity, is to have a booth at Bitcoin in the Beltway this weekend, giving attendees the first opportunity to meet XC’s core developers and to discuss its market-leading technology.

XC differentiates itself from other altcoin projects with its boldly pragmatic, real-world approach. It will run (and stake) on mobile phones, therefore it must be bloat-free and eminently scalable. It must be POS-integrated. It must be bulletproof. And it must be flexible. Over the past few weeks XC has rocketed toward these objectives by laying the technical foundations for a versatile platform in the form of a live, working wallet that demonstrates its privacy technology to the world. And this technology is ground-breaking.

The quest for “anonymity” has taken centre stage of late in the altcoin community, and at present several technologies aim to achieve it. However anonymity is a formidable technical challenge, and to date proposed solutions have either caused unworkable blockchain bloat, unwieldy transaction times, or have encountered unexpected forking problems. Here is a summary overview of XC’s solution to these problems:

XC is a network of nodes that (a) use end-to-end encryption to support transaction broadcasting, secure messaging, and true P2P anonymous transactions.* (b) Upon this is built an optional mixer that testing has shown** to eliminate any record in the blockchain of a link between sender and receiver. (c) This mixer is a revolutionary “multi-path” implementation that employs multi-sig to route fragments of transactions down separate paths through the network, compounding anonymity while adding redundancy and security.

No bloat
Several projects’ anonymising strategies currently have an unworkable blockchain bloat problem. Technologies like ring signatures and zero-knowledge proofs currently lack a way of avoiding this. XCurrency uses standard transactions, but multi-path then achieves an extremely high level of privacy with a high degree of prunability, avoiding bloat.

No (semi-) centralisation
Because every XC wallet can function as a node, XC avoids what Bitcoin core developer Gregory Maxwell has recently called a security “chokepoint”*** in the use of semi-centralised nodes to forward transactions. This strategy is compounded by the need to hold a very large amount of coins in order for a node to function – a problem which is resolved by the small, random transaction sizes of multi-path architecture.

No prisoners’ dilemma
Building privacy upon Bitcoin-based technologies by forwarding transactions is problematic because malicious actors can steal transactions instead of forwarding them. Furthermore they can snoop on the broadcasting system and publish the identities of senders and receivers. XC resolves these issues through multi-sig and through end-to-end message encryption.

Not limited to only payments
Bitcoin’s elegance may be its greatest strength, but it introduces significant challenges in implementing additional blockchain-based functions, like secure messaging and decentralised cloud storage. XC’s “platform” approach incorporates this objective from the outset. As such, XC represents a comprehensively architected Blockchain 2.0 implementation.

Development plan and testing
Though XC’s technology is real and free to download, several aspects of it are undergoing early testing. As such it should be treated as a beta release, and proportionate care taken with one’s funds when using it. In the coming months the cryptographic community will be invited to test it to its limits, and there will be a sizable bounty offered to anyone who can provably break XC's anonymity.

XCurrency is a four-week-old cryptographic platform for flexible digital transactions that has undergone a meteoric rise in popularity. Due to its newness there is currently a lack of technical documentation of its design, although in the coming weeks XC will publish its development plan and provide dates upon which this can be expected to be delivered. Given this, this article is not intended to be a technical explanation or formal defense of the viability of XC’s technology, and as such makes no claim of providing “proof” of this. Note also that XC is committed to the open source model. Open source code is vital for the health and advancement of cryptographic technologies, and so XC will make code available on a delayed timeline. This way, the community will derive the benefit of XC’s ground-breaking technologies, while the delay means that the incentive for developers to flood the marketplace with clones that lack a long term future and reduce the trustworthiness of the altcoin phenomenon is reduced.

Synch, has this been distributed via a paid for press release service?

If not I would like to pledge $500 in BTC for a paid press release that gets delivered to premium financial sites like Wall Street Journal, yahoo finance etc. I know a service that will hit a ton of top sites and get lots of indexing on search engines like google and yahoo.

In the press release we can also embed images and file attachments like pdfs and even a video if we want. We can also link to the a news section of the XC site so people can keep informed (lots of people won't know about bitcointalk).

We haven't got to rush this and can spend time preparing it carefully.

I will cover the cost of the release and send you the BTC in advance. In terms of constructing the release and the content I will leave that to you and the rest of the XC team. I am impressed with how you put everything across. We may need to "dumb it down" slightly though, so it doesn't go too far over everyone's heads. My only input is that in the article we make a small comparison at some point to Bitcoin (something a lot of people know) and highlight the strength of proof of stake, XC anonymity etc. Comparing to things the public know already will be a fruitful approach.

I will discuss the company I would like us to use and anything else over PM.

Please message me.  Wink

With the permission of Teka and Synechist, I have create a XC thread for the Chinese community on Bitcointalk. Please come and show some support even if you don’t speak Chinese.  I think reach out to that part of demographic is instrumental for our growth in the long run.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=659928.0

Thanks ForReal. This is fantastic.

I’m pretty excited about this. There are couple people already joined the QQ group. I will reach out to more Chinese forums in the near future. But let’s build a good solid base here first.

Guys please come to here and show some support in this Chinese XC thread, even if you don’t speak Chinese. Most of the Chinese crypto community have not notice XC yet. Gaining their support will take XC to another level.

Come on, let’s do our part to help out this community.
“Ask not what your XC community can do for you, ask what you can do for your XC community.”

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=659928.0

hello and thank you for the XC chinese topic, its always nice to see chinese investment opportunities!

Please let them know what XC has been threw, the FUD, the dumps, everything. Inform them that long time holders and rich list are all here since day 1. Tell them that people ride coin waves, then always come back to reinvest more XC. Note that dev and jasinlee currently attend the bitcoinbeltway conference in DC right now, when other altcoins are stil trying to present some shitty whitepaper.

We sort of treat XC here as our small, undervalued bitcoin. I firmly believe we will have our own pizza tale soon enough.

@concerning the trading tips

I don't believe replies like "hey guys what do u think of Z coin bump/dump w/e", because in the end most people asking for this in here(like I have in the past) are legitimately concerned in investing more in XC. I think that if it gets tiring, Teka could edit those replies and add a message like " Please use XC forum for these kind of questions"

@ozziecoin

plz tell us which alt coin whitepaper you found clear and informative enough for you to invest, I really wanna know because XC's papers are 9 out of 10 times better than others. If you are not sure about the paper let me inform you that :

1) dev has meet ALL deadlines
2) latest anonimity 1.5rev release was never cracked(this is the only anon coin that works RIGHT now, from ur own wallet).
3) you can create ur own xnode to accomodate anon transactions and gain FEEs!
4) we expect new release in weekend
5)dev probably cant answer you right now cause they are attending DC conference bitcoinbeltway
6) PR and branding team are working to provide professional promotion to the coin as we speak
7)code has been reviewed positively by well known BTC members
8)there are many full/hero members openly admitted their support to XC in these very forums

DRK is also vulnerable to Chaeplin's pattern matching tracking until at least RC4.

Good news keep coming:

people have put alot of BTC to that vote, considerable compared to actual votes.

Looking forward to the Mintpal pump.

We'll have a trading volume > 3000 BTC on the first or second day imo.

DRK nosediving and people are starting to see the light.

XC dev has proven his superior technical prowess with this creation. Made in much less time, it works and nodes can be run in any wallet without a server.
975  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DRK] DarkCoin | First Anonymous Coin | First X11 | First DGW | ** HARD FORK JUNE 20TH ** on: June 20, 2014, 07:06:40 PM
Maybe its a case of reaping what DRK Fudders have sown, the massive FUD attacks on XC...  And look who is laughing now

XC - XNODES working, Anonymous technology (multipath implemented) - yes it worked - no fork - Oh and a top tier pro dev who knows what he is doing.

DRK - well we can see where DRK is... Fork anyone?

Better call the Karma Police?

You miss the point that xnodes are useless, even when working.

Please elaborate. XCNodes are currently a much better system, and most importantly, they work.

Owwww. And they're not closed source. Imagine all the problems darksend probably has if Evan can't even fix this?

You understand the part where Xnodes are actually not doing much of anything right? The part where Masternodes add something actually unique and their purpose is not just anonimity but proof of service?

Xnodes work 100% and the bounty challenge has been left unclaimed.

I and others have collected payments for running Xnodes in our wallets. XC is a diamond in the rough.

Tbh I am glad DRK has forked yet again. Good karma for the constant BS you guys have given XC.
976  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DRK] DarkCoin | First Anonymous Coin | First X11 | First DGW | ** HARD FORK JUNE 20TH ** on: June 20, 2014, 07:03:48 PM
The brilliance of XC nodes is that they run straight from the wallet.

ANYONE can run them if they put the XC into them. You don't need to be an IT genius and set up a VPS server. It's truly decentralised.

Not only that, since the upgrade to multipath in ver 1.5, the anon couldn't be cracked... and Chaeplin admitted his techniques are still applicable to DRK until RC 4.

All of this has been done in 1 month. And XC dev has said very soon he will have person to person encrypted transactions with 100% privacy and NO masternodes thanks to one time usage keys. That's on top of the existing protocol. After that dev is doing encrypted messaging and other blockchain 2.0 features.
977  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][XC][OFFICIAL] X11/PoS/Privacy on: June 20, 2014, 06:17:49 PM
At beltway the team shoulo do up redeemable codes to give to potential xc users and investors.  Code gets them some free xc.. (use some pre mine).. this basically guarantees they will redeem and require to download wallet and gets them started down the xc path..

or even better usb stick with wallets, maybe even bags of swag? Wink

Since ATC is a businessman and a great dev, do you think he would ever consider setting up coinbase type site for XC? Or some kind of exchange. Like Bitstamp, but XC only.

I know he has lots he wants to accomplish but that maybe something to think about in 6 to 12 months time? Such services tend to be very lucrative for the operators too.
978  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][XC][OFFICIAL] X11/PoS/Privacy on: June 19, 2014, 09:20:51 PM
The alt currency market is without a doubt much more competitive.

But that's why coins with talented developers and innovative tech rise to the top. XC is one a minority of coins that fits that bill. The only thing it lacks is marketing and awareness.
979  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][XC][OFFICIAL] X11/PoS/Privacy on: June 19, 2014, 06:16:10 PM
what do you think guys, will we reach something more than this price  which is stable almost two weeks (120-130) ? I mean not pump but stable price...
XC is staying low for a reason, just hope it won't go lower. I personally don't think the creator know how to market his product.

Are you kid from DRK lovers? Cheesy
nope.
x11coin, xecutive, flexible... do you see any resemblance?
not to say the delayed of logo and accepting very late logo contest when it's already closed. the promised of 3-4weeks for rev.2 which is almost 4 weeks ago so I think it will not come out on time. countless problems of xnode and staking. it sound like the creator don't know what he's doing at this point and the price say it.

Nice fuds, well done.

except trivial things.  DEV delivered almost everything on time. unless you have some mental problem.  Xnode is working very well, and staking is also no problem.

only impatient bastard with reading problem keep asking staking issue. Maybe dev even do not bother answering your stupid questions.

but i will do.  shut fuck up!

+1.

Fuck off Bentach you dumb troll. Anyone who reads the topic each day can see what you're saying is utter bullshit.

The drawback of privacy platform, whilst all-encompassing and rolling well off the tongue, is it's not obvious from the slogan that it's primarily a currency.
