981  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Big baller on bitsolo on: August 12, 2014, 02:04:17 PM
Someone with less than 2Th found a block June 23rd, what was the diff around that time ? I forget.
13,462,580,115.

I've already used up my luck.  I hit a block back in April with an S1 that had been mining for about 2 weeks.  Unfortunately for me I was not solo mining, I was on p2pool.  Sure, I got the 0.125BTC block finder's reward... but nowhere near as satisfying as seeing that 25BTC in the old wallet... Smiley
So P2P pays the tx fees to the finder, thats cool. If it was a bit larger I might join it.
P2Pool pays transaction fees, and also pays the block finder a 0.5% reward.  Currently p2pool is averaging between 2 and 2.5PH/s... it's growing.
Well for right now it doesn't seem worth it to me. I've go ~5Th and I haven found a block yet but I know a lot factors in to that.

984  Bitcoin / Hardware / Antminer S3 Overclocking, what's your results ? on: August 12, 2014, 11:55:28 AM
What if anything did you OC your S3's to and what have you found to run stable for you going on 7+ days so it ends up looking permanent.

I was gonna jump right in on 237.5 with mine since someone said if they can't handle that then they most likely can't do anything lower which means perma stock which right now all four of mine are stable at 218.75 ~440. Seems I got lucky and got a good batch where as some have speed issues on stock an end up having to DC insread of OC their units.

Ideally I'd like to try 250 but I hear that offers mixed results, even on good machines like mine but man would I love ~500 on all four of mine.  I will try i on at least one machine to see how it works instead of OC'ing them all at the same time which some people do without seeing how on machine handles it.

But most people do seem to agree that 237.5 seems to work quite well for everyone who starts out with stable stock freq machines like me doing ~440.
985  Economy / Lending / Re: Offering BTC loans [no collateral] on: August 12, 2014, 11:27:51 AM
Hi I'm just looking for a rep loan...

Ouch, shouldn't have said that. You possibly ruined your chance of ever getting a loan.

Is a rep loan bad? I'm not using it to buy anything, only to prove I can be trusted.
I would add he was being sarcastic as well since in the main post he says no newbie ranks but yes, it is considered bad form to take a loan just for rep purposes.

we are fucked with next difficulty increase...  Angry
Maybe, maybe not... lets just see what it (the diff) is when it happens. Hell, maybe Bitmain will give us coupons or something to help out. They are by far the more reliable company out there.
988  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S3 Discussion and Support Thread. on: August 12, 2014, 03:57:02 AM
Our next increase is already looking like it will be about 23+ %.
989  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: So what kind of hardware are you currently running ? on: August 12, 2014, 03:28:25 AM
im on one 280x GPU
I didnt think a lot of people still mined with GPU's.

That look on your wife's face when she sees a $1,100 power bill: Priceless

HA! Been there, done that. Always bring flowers when it is power bill time.
Ya, but then she sees the flowers and knows whats up so goes for the hot skillet LMAO

I know it was only yesterday you said this M but any ideas yet ?

I know what to do.  It's a matter of time, which I don't have a lot of right now.

M
You know what, thats better than nothing because it at last tells me I'll be able to use your program soon ;-)

The one page in the admin area where i shows dropbear port 22, that's what allows putty to connect right so if I changed hat to say 2013 I would use 2013 in the port box on putty to connect via ssh ?
So, anyone ?

Yes, that's correct. It changes /etc/config/dropbear and restarts.

config dropbear
   option PasswordAuth 'on'
   option RootPasswordAuth 'on'
   option Port         '2013'

But to be clear, by making that change... 2013 is what would be used in putty for SSH and that change doesnt just affect something else ?

Sounds good, please keep us informed because for people with hosted Ants, the webui will be a godsend.

Also, I made an edit to my above reply about ports.

Web scraping uses the normal http.  It renders the page internally and then extracts the necessary data and shows it on the screen.

Generally if you can get to it through a web browser on port 80, it should work.

M
Well like I said, my situations probably a little more unique than others since mine are hosted off the home network with IP's as described before.

1.2.3.4:5676
1.2.3.4:5677
1.2.3.4:5678
1.2.3.4:5679

I just would rally love to get this program working so I don't need to keep four tabs open all the time.

If you can get his working for me and others with situations as mine, I'll tip some BTC your way, and I dont mean a measly 0.01 either.

I missed the fact the ports are different than the standard port 80.  That should be fixable.

M
This might also be why I'm having trouble getting in to them via putty to OC.

Not sure how to try and configure putty... basically been doing this.

1.2.3.4:5676 for the hostname / IP then still using 22 in the port box.

As for this APP, now that we seem to be on the same page, hoping you can help get the webui thing working for me and others like me with systems hosted outside he home with unique ports leading to individual machines on the same IP.
I know it was only yesterday you said this M but any ideas yet ?

Hes going to deny it, in the first post it asks that no one with a "newbie" rank apply.
998  Economy / Computer hardware / I'm looking for a working SATA laptop HDD... on: August 11, 2014, 08:37:08 AM
Do you happen to have a working SATA laptop HDD you no longer need that's just gathering dust somewhere ?

Well, I'd like to buy it off you for cost of shipping, yes that means I'd like it free lol. I mean if your no using it anyway and it's just in a box somewhere then why not ?

What I'd like it for is so I can set up an online Armory system. That being said, so it will last a while. I'd like it to be 150Gb or larger.

Even if you have one you don't really want to just give away, PM me a price anyway so we can talk.

Ty.

Edit: I would also prefer Escrow if I'm not familiar with you. This way I can ensure the drive works out before having funds released. Even if it is just $6 for a small priority mail box.
999  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S3 Discussion and Support Thread. on: August 11, 2014, 07:49:51 AM
Planning to buy 2 antminers s3. Is this profitable enough to start mining?
If you get them now you go a good shot.

Thanks.

Do you guys mine only bitcoin or also some sha256 coins?

How is other SHA- 256 coins doing in terms of profitability?
I mine on BTC Guild which merge mines namecoin.

Just don't read into it with too much certainty.  While you can know for sure if the next few will end above 100%, you can never be sure how many will end under it.  You can have a pretty good idea if they will (0-2 blocks found in the next shifts to close), but you never know when a burst might occur to bring them up to neutral or better (like how we had 3 blocks in under an hour earlier).

Just started to build-up my pool-luck-psychic skills, you know. You can excuse me some minor inaccuracies  Grin

By the way, congrats to your new Legendary status!!! I wonder, how many Legendaries are there in wild? You are the first one I have noticed so far.
Tomatocage is legendary, noticed that in a loan thread.
