It depends on the risks you are willing to take. I also invested a sum near this in Aeternity, I think if they can achieve what they propose there sure is a huge upside potential. Also its a longterm investment, because the mainnet will just launch in Q4 2018. I am confident about them, but the competition sure is there and the risk is high. Life is a gamble!

Actually it is running now for quite some hours but is not really progressing that fast I think. It repeats the same line a lot of times and then suddenly one new line, and then again the same line with one number changed. then it repeats that line over and over and so on. You can see what I mean in the screenshot. Please tell me if its supposed to be like that! If its continuing like that than I guess it will take several months so sync 80k+ blocks.

Civic is one of those projects with a real world use case. I love that project, although I slightly missed the ICO, its still on my watch and I will buy some soon. Want to participate in this ecosystem. I am wondering how is the development going so far? Price is looking good as I see. After the bearmarket civic got more tension again. I am very confident in the team as well, always shown a lot of transparency and this is key in this space in my opinion!

Totally agree with you. Many projects have future dream use cases, that only will be happening if there is a huge shift towards digitalization in the society. But this is different, Powerledger brings a use case for the world of today. It brings in real economy money thats what distinguishs it from most of blockchain projects out there. Thats also why it will be still around this time next year, when many many of other new coins are already dead or on their last breaths. Go on with that great development powerledger!

I was just thinking that there must be something wrong with my system because it keeps repeating the same lines again and again, so I thought it might be stuck at the first blocks because it couldnt pass 401 as it seems (In the picture there are only 2 lines with block 401, but as I said, it was running for much longer already and always repeated this same line). I will run it again now and just wait for it to sync!

I think that Aditus has a great concept as there will be huge gains in crypto in the coming years and the market for luxury items is great combined with cryptocurrency. Thats why I think this can be a huge success.

Check out Anoncoin. Im not an expert on the matter, but to me this one looks promising. If I remember correctly its not pre-mined, only a tiny portion or so is. Also not much traction so far, so there is a lot of potential. Im interested in your opinion on it, because I also did not enter yet, but am thinking of doing so soon. 

I lately read about minereum, thats some crazy return for an airdrop there. I think the airdrop is now worth about 12k USD or something. But its not listed on many sites and volume is very low, so I guess not many people are able to sell their minereum for this price.

All of these tips are legitimate and should be done before investing, but the topic creator asked about how to evaluate the hype of an ICO. I personally have made bad experiences with overhyped ICO's so I let them pass in general and look for the unhyped gems. Everyone his own.

Thats a good question though. Since I invested some ETH in the ICO I have not heard anything big happening for development of the project, also the marketing got pretty silent after end if the ICO. I guess after raising an ignorant sum of about 250M to build a messenger app, you as a company start to not care of what happens with your token. Lets see the next bottom and then the next. Who cares right? I admit, it was my mistake in the first place to get suckered in the fomo without doing my due dilligence correctly before investing. One of my first ICO's and one I learned a lot from. I mean cmon: 250M for a messenger?!
