2781  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: what's the ethereum killer ... on: May 13, 2022, 06:20:42 PM
None. The ethereum killers are already an old legend that is many years old. In so many years, if it were possible, it would have happened, just as the bitcoin killer would have proven itself long ago, if it existed. But Ethereum holds the lead among smart contracts and is unlikely to be displaced by anyone, especially after the introduction of EIP-1559, which made the asset deflationary and attractive for long-term investing. Other smart contract platforms will also do well, but are unlikely to take the No. 1 spot in this ranking.
ethereum killer only a story that never ended and none of them able to totally compete or beat ethereum. Solana which is recognized as ethereum killer have network trouble several times. ethereum with newest update still be best smart contract platform in this market, another platform only give us an alternative with lower transaction fee. this problem will also solved when sharding applied in second version.

Such stories must exist, because it is a form of motivation for projects to kill Ethereum. It may be almost impossible to do, but no one is striving for it, just like trying to move bitcoin out of first place. Solana has good perspectives, I like it, but it also has a lot of problems, it lags a lot. Let's see what will happen with ETH 2.0 when it moves to PoS, if it happens at all. If there is a very strong disunity in the community that doesn't want to accept Ethereum the way it has become, it might be a small chance for other blockchains to gain a little more foothold in the "Ethereum killer" title.
2782  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Just lost my job, new yorker here, what to do next? on: May 13, 2022, 05:05:52 PM
Now that the market has started to recover, many altcoins have turned out to be very much cheaper, a good chance to invest, but a bad chance to invest your last money. There is no telling how long the altcoin market will have to recover before prices return to good values. I would still recommend not investing in cryptocurrencies with a position like yours, because cryptocurrencies are a risky investment and very often a wait-and-see strategy, and you don't have much time with such a shaky position to wait for your investment to make a good return. Give up on this endeavor.
2783  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How do you feel about algorithmic stablecoin staking? on: May 13, 2022, 04:26:37 PM
Stablecoins like UST, USN, USDD have a very tricky link to the dollar and the collateral pool, in the form of a native token of a particular blockchain, be it LUNA, NEAR, TRON, etc. Such projects offer or are about to offer 20-30% per annum in staking these stablecoins. Not a bad interest rate, is it? But will these projects be able to provide such a high interest rate all the time, and won't that provoke a cascading collapse of both the stablecoins, with the loss of the peg and a cascading collapse of the native tokens that act as reserve collateral?

After all, such high payouts to stakers must be accompanied by constant replenishment of these projects reserve funds. But what will happen if the money stops flowing in the right amount?
To be fair, the NEAR stablecoin is fractionally reserved, and not fully algorithmic like the others. This means that it is safer and most of the staking rewards don't come from NEAR, but from partner trading and lending platforms. We'll see if fractional stablecoins can work well long term but consider this... The USD is only going to lose value. Is that the boat you want to ride on or do you want something that is going to change your life in a few years. If that's the case, then I suggest investing in NEAR directly or a competitor even, like Fantom or ICP. ICP for example has a hackathon going on RN, which will bring DeFi usecases to the chain. There's never been a better time to ride that to the top.

Investing in stablecoins is hardly something that can change someone's life in a few years, simply because stablecoins aren't made for big earnings. It's about saving money. I've been looking at ways to keep funds in cryptocurrency that would still generate a small income from stablecoins. I was looking at stablecoins as something suitable for this purpose, but I was confused by some of the nuances that have proven to be great with UST. This is exactly what I was afraid of.
2784  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do Anyone Think Luna Will Recover? on: May 13, 2022, 04:07:11 PM
He added on Wednesday: “I understand the last 72 hours have been extremely tough on all of you – know that I am resolved to work with every one of you to weather this crisis, and we will build our way out of this.

LUNA has lost 100% of its value, it now has SCAM status and investing now will be like playing the lottery. It's sad that such a once major project collapsed so quickly, like a house of cards. I would now see it as a kind of lucky investment, by buying $100 worth of tokens, like a meme-coin investor sometimes does with the hope that there will be steep growth.

This project can only recover with a complete overhaul of tokenomics, the pegging system, minting, and other mechanisms. If the developers can recycle all that and present a good product, more secure and sustainable, maybe LUNA will rise from the ashes. In the meantime, it is one big disappointment.
2785  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Hard lesson I learnt from crypto in 2 Years on: May 13, 2022, 03:44:38 PM
1, Never  listen to YouTubers they are bums .

People for some reason think that someone in this world will help them make money. All these bloggers just live off advertising and referrals, you are just a way for them to make money. There is a rule in the crypto world, DYOR. You can never trust anyone, you always need to check everything. The projects promoted by bloggers, or part of their advertising, or part of their investment, which they want to sell at a profit by buying these coins, increase the demand and raise the price.

No one will ever help you make money, you are the money for them.

Вот объясните мне вашу логику. На том форуме смотрим ваши топики:

1. Мистика в истории. Ссылка на источник присутствует;
2. О европейских революциях. Ссылка на источник присутствует;

32 Wink

2789  Other / Meta / Re: My post was removed without explanation. What are my next steps? on: May 12, 2022, 11:39:21 PM
Thanks, I did edit my post to include an explanation a few minutes after posting the image but perhaps it had already been removed at that point. They've reinstated it now though so all good. Just to note, I've received messages that it's now been reinstated but I never received a message about the original removal. Thanks

If the issue is resolved, why don't you close the topic.

P.S. Question about messages: if a topic is deleted, the author of the topic and everyone who commented there do NOT get messages about the topic being deleted. The message comes only when any post is deleted from the topic.

Yesterday I posted a sequel to my 2017 bitcoin privkey puzzle ( https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2145129 ) but the new one ( https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5398051 ) seems to have been removed. I haven't been messaged about the removal though. What are my next steps to get it back up? I spent a good while making it and a number of users enjoyed my old one. Thanks

I can't understand what we're talking about? Your topic is in place. Moreover, you edited it after the creation of this topic. So what exactly is your complaint?

Or I don't understand something?
2791  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: what will happen to LUNA? on: May 12, 2022, 05:13:48 PM
Terra blockchain stopped at block #7603700. Validators are wary of manipulating the protocol with token voting, amid significant additional LUNA issuance and lowering the cost of a potential attack.

I'm sorry to hear about your difficult situation, but at such a difficult time investing in NFT is a way to make things worse. Now your investments will resemble gambling, where the risk will exceed any possible profit, and buying NFT is not the best investment either, especially if you don't know about this industry. Maybe soon the market will recover and you will be able to use cryptocurrencies to improve your financial situation, but if not, then what? Then you will lose even more money.

option 4: 8x 1.250€
Ethereum (ETH)
Polygon (MATIC)
Avalanche (AVAX)
The Sandbox (SAND)
Moonbeam (GLMR)
ApeCoin (APE)
Acala Token (ACA)
Astar (ASTR)

A good portfolio should be diversified, so I'm all for diversity. A portfolio containing 2 or 4 tokens is too risky, you might not be able to guess the trend or growth of that group of projects and be a so-called perpetual investor. People who find themselves in this situation find nothing better than to sell at a loss their unsuccessful acquisitions in an attempt to buy something else that might make a profit. They buy 2-3 projects into their portfolio again and thereby expose themselves to the same risk.

I have over 30 different altcoins in my portfolio, I advise you to create such a portfolio in the future. Its advantage is that you can always transfer liquidity from already profitable altcoins to other, more promising or new projects, and if an altcoin has not grown, you can wait it out instead of selling at a loss, because you have diversity in your portfolio and some altcoins will definitely grow, when others are still at a loss.
2794  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Worth investing? on: May 10, 2022, 08:00:50 PM
I'm not sure we can say that Layer 1 is almost dead, L1 projects are also doing very well so far. Also, when investing in new projects, it makes sense to pay attention to web3 integration, because the more a project follows trends in the industry, the bigger audience it can gather. L1 projects that integrate web3 follow the trend, in an effort not to lose the audience.

But if we see a project supporting all the new technologies and integrations, that doesn't tell us it's going to be successful. History remembers many technological projects that never gained popularity with the audience, even though their product was much better than the competition.

2796  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What a bear market actually looks like on: May 10, 2022, 07:14:42 PM
I wouldn't be so categorical about the bear market not having started, I would say it is in full swing or already started. The bear market may have started as early as last year. You probably mean the market hasn't seen a real bottom yet. Anything can happen if bitcoin goes below 30,000. The altcoin market could suffer even more, especially for new projects and those projects that were hype last year.
2797  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How do you feel about algorithmic stablecoin staking? on: May 09, 2022, 11:21:53 PM

After all, such high payouts to stakers must be accompanied by constant replenishment of these projects reserve funds. But what will happen if the money stops flowing in the right amount?

After the pump of Waves to over 50$ a few weeks ago i sold my waves (i did only have a few sadly) and now i have some USDN sitting in my waves wallet that are doing nothing. My first plan was to trade those USDN into USDC or USDT and then put those into the algorithmic trading pools of the waves wallet, but i could not do that because Waves was crashing very hard after that pump and even took USDN with it to a price of around 0,70 USD which was pretty crazy as USDN should be a stable coin after all. This pretty much has made me lose some trust into the whole waves platform and i am not so sure anymore if i should really invest my stablecoins there.

This is exactly the weakness of these algorithmic stablecoins. They are very dependent on their native coins. The more complex all these collateral schemes are, the more fragile the stablecoin becomes. As soon as native blockchain tokens start to lose a lot of value, the stablecoin's link to the dollar disappears and it is no longer a stablecoin, but a rapidly declining altcoin, which can sometimes lose 20-30% of its value.
2798  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Where is the crypto market heading now on: May 09, 2022, 07:29:45 PM
Question for all altcoin investors

1. Can Ape coin beats doge coin some day? In rank on coinmarketcap
2. When should we start expecting a better greenish market again?.
3. Now that we are a ina  bear market will metaverse hype keep going on?.

1. Everything can be, but DOGE and APE have equal chances to continue to receive support from Ilon Musk and thereby grow in price. Time will show what will be a priority, it is very difficult to predict now. In general, I do not see any value in DOGE, except for the desire of Ilon Musk to speculate on this coin, promoting it in their products.

2. Probably when bitcoin starts to grow instead of falling. If bitcoin goes below 30,000 now, the fall of altoin will only intensify.

3. Perhaps now the crypto market could shift towards MOVE-2-EARN tokens. This could turn out to be a new hype. There was a metaverse hype at the end of the year, then many projects lost in value. Perhaps the hype will continue when the altcoin market starts to gain momentum.
2799  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Passive Income - Auto-Staking Protocol on: May 09, 2022, 07:10:36 PM
Royalty Finance

Royalty Finance is an auto-staking and auto-compounding decentralised protocol, providing investors with an annual yield of 160,198%.

There are two things that confuse me. The first is the extremely high APY. How will such high payouts be maintained? When I see hundreds of thousands of percent, I immediately have a bad association with some kind of scam. I just do not remember any well-known project to offer such high rates. And second, I went to your website, tried to buy tokens, clicked the Buy Token button and nothing happens. I understand that this feature is not yet available and tokens can only be bought on the Gamepad?
2800  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Invest in the tokens of the Solana ecosystem on: May 09, 2022, 04:39:39 PM
Dexlab
Saber
Star Atlas
Sunny
Solanium
Raydium

I haven't heard anything besides Raydium before. The coin is now at the bottom, perhaps soon will begin to grow. Solanium lost almost all its value, I have doubts that it will further grow and update ATH. Sunny, if we are talking about this project https://www.coingecko.com/en/coins/sunny-aggregator, it's a SCAM, definitely not worth attention. Star Atlas is the same scam, pass it by. Saber is also a scam, a loss of 99% of the value. Dexlab may be able to grow, the coin is now at the bottom, you need to follow the news of the project.

I understand that you chose projects that are at maximum bottom. But this is not always a signal to buy, most often it is a reason to refuse investment in such coins.
