18 days left to big hard fork, we are waiting MoneroV,

Hey why not, we already had 4 others ...

MoneroV missed the train.
Actually today I was thinking about it and maybe it was never thought to be an actual coin, but just a pump for Monero. They succeed at that time, they made som hype.

Time for MoneroX

edit : I use it sometimes as counter measure against attacks

Ah, the guilty conscience. Remember, every time you nicehash, Satoshi kills a kitten Tongue

Can confirm. Nicehash is run by satanist lizard illuminati criminal botnet herders.

^^^ It's called insta mining.  Tongue
The 720 or so blocks after the fork will take quite some time to mine with the ASICs gone.

What is happening with Monerujo?

https://monerujo.io/

I cannot install the wallet any more. Censored by the NSA already?

After review, monerujo: Monero Wallet, com.m2049r.xmrwallet, has been removed from Google Play because it violates the payments policy. This app won’t be available to users until you submit a compliant update.

106  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Baikal Giant N - Cryptonight, Cryptonight-lite FPGA/ASIC miner on: March 18, 2018, 10:59:50 PM
just wait a little bit longer, then you will get them for free Grin
Too late buddy Cheesy Only good thing that comes from Baikal is that it should be FPGA Cheesy

Baikal use ASIC chips in all their miners. The whole they must be "FPGA" because they support multi algo is BS.
How can ASIC support more algos? Giant N has also AEON but Bitmain doesn't.

Same way the Gridseed GC3355 and the SFARDS upgrade to that chip supported COMPLETELY UNRELATED ALGORITHMS (SHA256 and Scrypt) did - they are designed with sections for each algorithm - as one option.

For X16 it's easier - just have each "component" algorithm with it's own part of the chip, then use a on-chip switching system with external control to route the data as needed for each sub-algorithm.
Note that many of the algorithms used in X16 are also used as separate algorithms for mining by some coins, and the "lower" X series algorithms starting with X11 grew INTO X16 via adding another algorithm or two.

I'm not sure on cryptonight/cryptonight light if you need separate sections or just a way to "switch" on the chip from one to the other, never looked at the difference(s) between the two.

Wanna put your money where your mouth is then buy this heater embedded doorstop.

I’m a merit source; but even before I was a merit source I randomly merited people whose posts I found funny, helpful, original, creative, etc.
When this is true that you are a Merit Source and you feel that you must DUMPING , than dump all your sMerit to all Users across the Forum that the Merit System can work. Lower User Level cant give Merits for quality Posts when she have no (s)Merits.

The merit points you receive from me can’t be given away - they simply raise your merit level.  Smiley
Have you other Merits as all other user? For Merits that i receive i receive also (lower amount) sMerits that i can give away... The Problem at this new Merit System was, that User with a low Member rank have no sMerits  that he can give away before she receive Merits from high rank users. But this is now totally OT here.... so just Dump your sMerits  Grin
I feel like you became greedy for merit points since you started to do posts about merit points. Lol I am All in! 😄

Trade you 2 merits for 1 merit bro

109  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 1080Ti Specific - Best mining option on: March 15, 2018, 06:46:07 PM
Equihash algo giving low profitability these days, What coin are you mining guys with gtx 1080ti...

According to whattomine zcash still higher daily earnings than ethereum in default settings.

Would you guys suggest if I should stay mining zcash or switch to etherum.?

1080 ti for me it looks like the daily earnings are too low compared to the last December that actually gives me a large amount of profit, unlike today.

But I still fine with the electricity consumption.

There are coins giving 3 ~4 dollars daily, but you have to find, these coins are not on whattomine or another coin comparisson
If we talk here everyone will jump and profit's gone

Hence this thread is pointless Cheesy

Compare the market december and now, it's a bloodbath out there.

We need once and for all to break the link to the scammy CryptoNote [...]
Wasn't the tie broken when Bitmonero became Monero? I thought that was all long behind it and no longer an issue.

Kept the pow though.
111  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Iridium - People are Power - PoW - No Premine - Community Built on: March 14, 2018, 01:33:52 PM
Thats good, but how about to change pow algorithm to another cryptonight variant, like monero and electroneum (v7)?

+1 May as well change the PoW if hardforking so some asshole won't ruin the diff with his baikal CN FPGAs.

Read again : Never heard of so much better ways than POW for making money ?

So, POW meaning Proof of work, hell yeah, I didn't mean mining in my words..
Cause with mining you can't ROI much more that what you do today.

So read again  Roll Eyes

For real guys, you'r still mining with your 800 USD cards at 3$ / day profit ?    Grin Grin Grin Shocked Shocked Huh Huh
Never heard of so much better ways than POW for making money ? You can't be serious...   Wink Wink

You must learn the meaning of the word : 'search smartly' how to make REAL profit..  Cool

Ps : And don't think even 15$ / day for one card at 800$ + is a REAL profit..  Roll Eyes

this guy noob dont know how to mining

Same advice : read again..

PS : I mined for 1 year with 5 Aorus 1080ti's, and yeah, I sold at 900€ piece, cause those 20$ day with 5 TI's is just.. boring Wink
Each his vision of the ROI thing Smiley

Now, I make 200$ per day with approx same invest (4500$), and you know how you said it before.
Yes, a little more risky, but uncomparable, and I succeed in that since 2 month.
2 months at 6000$ each month..

Good luck mining  Wink

Ok ok i will bite and give the benefit of the doubt. How does this deal work out?

Sell Tis buy bitcoinnect, hey hey hey!

I have been with BITCORE since the beginning.. But now like others I feel we really need a top 10 exchange.,, like bittrex.. All the existing exchanges for Bitcore is like trash..

Keep Bitcore away from BShittrex. That shit exchange changed their terms and messed many peeps around with their bullshit and scammy action. Many many better exchanges out there.

Not a big fan of Bittrex either, at least not anymore. Definitely better options. It is not all about the volume, as that does not necessarily translate to more volume for BTX. I just want a reliable and no-nonsense exchange to trade BTX on.

I am actually a noob when it comes to recommended exchanges. I mean yeah there are a lot of exchanges popping up but how or when do you say that an exchange is good and reliable if I may ask?

You roll the dice and hope for the best and cry like a bitch when things go south, such is life in crypto.
115  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Baikal Giant N - Cryptonight, Cryptonight-lite ASIC miner on: March 13, 2018, 10:08:16 PM
I really wish people would stop calling FPGA's ASICs.  Baikal (so far) has only made FPGA mining rigs.  There is a huge difference between an FPGA and an ASIC.  An FPGA is not that much different from a GPU.  Anyone can get one.  Anyone can buy a Zynq FPGA board from digikey for $89-$199, or a higher end one for more money, and if you take a little while to learn how to program it, you can hash any algorithm except equihash & ethash.  Furthermore, your ROI will be better than a GPU in almost every case, in some cases dramatically better (as Baikal showed with the X10 and Giant-B).

Are you really sure that Baikals X10/B are FPGA? (Which FPGA, by the way?) While it is enterely possible, technical characteristics of these products are not typical for FPGA. Especially the low power consumption.

As for ROI I wouldn't expect good ROI from entry and mid-range FPGA boards because of their weak power supplys. We need propertly designed professional grade DC/DC for core voltage, that is rarely seen in practice.

I know right? This has been bugging me for the past two days... is it a FPGA is it an ASIC are the specs correct is it an exit scam...

We'll just have to wait and see if/when someone gets one of these and opens it up.
116  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Baikal Giant N - Cryptonight, Cryptonight-lite ASIC miner on: March 13, 2018, 05:15:35 PM
Whoa, 60 watts and MOQ of 6. Not everyone get hold on this. Too expensive even though against the risk of the coin forked to avoid these ASIC.

Yeah I agree...at 60 watts it is likely to be FPGA and thus they can tweak the firmware for other coins of that type it is made for...but if EVERYONE

is going to fork their coins, that run with this machine, well....it could be an expensive doorstop ...even before shipping.

Is there a thread or a running list of LIKELY coins that ACTUALLY will fork ...to kill this ASIC ...or is it just noise and drama, for the most part?

Monero is definitely forking with new pow on the 28th, already merged in master.

100% fake.
Who will sell a chicken who lays golden eggs?
It used to lay golden eggs, now it will only lay shit.
117  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: March 13, 2018, 03:48:09 PM
Interesting GitHub discussion, initiated by smooth, as to whether Monero should begin to embrace ASICS instead of opposing them. Raises some interesting questions.

https://github.com/monero-project/monero/issues/3387#issuecomment-372283631

I am glad to see what appears to be a little bit of balance.  I understand the ideal of one CPU one vote, but many folks who would argue against ASICs will also argue in defense of botnets.  The botnet defense usually goes like: "They are securing the network, and they are incentivized not to wreck it by their financial stake".

This exact same argument can be used for ASICs.

A clear difference here is cost to entry.

Botnet owner = 0 (aside some small costs and ofc the initial effort)

ASIC owner = financial investment, commitment

I think one of these clearly cares more about the coin health that the other.

Also I'm reminded of an old description of venture capitalism I was once told. That was "Buy it for a pound, sell it for 2 pounds"

So in the hacker, botnet example its buy it for free. Where is their sell limit then?   erk

ASICs farms are for the privileged, very few people can afford to buy a load of them to run them in on an industrial scale even then manufacturers mine the shit out of it with their latest toys before releasing it to the public, how is that serving anyone let alone decentralization?
118  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Baikal Giant N - Cryptonight, Cryptonight-lite ASIC miner on: March 13, 2018, 03:11:40 PM
Fate of this asic is sealed after fork, no asic is good for crypto,

And No GPU is good for Crypto neither, only decentralization is good for crypto, all major coins sooner or later should switch to POS instead POW, its the only way Crypto will rule the future.

PoS is a stupid idea by design.

120  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]★ CryptoPolice ★ First community based decentralized police on blockchain on: March 13, 2018, 01:46:06 PM
Hi ,
Please, help to understand one question: why Cryptopolice needs blockchain? Where it will be used?

All data will be stored in blockchain, and that will allow the platform to work safely and with a high level of trust. In addition, blockchain will completely eliminate the risks of corruption and fraud within the system.

Ok.
Are you going to use your own blockchain ?

In the first stage we plan to use Ethereum blockchain, but  in the future we will look at the evolution of blockchain technologies. And, in case if better and more progressive solutions will appear, we will consider using them.

That's sloppy police work, erc20 tokens are not safe https://gist.github.com/Dexaran/ddb3e89fe64bf2e06ed15fbd5679bd20
