You should ask the copy paste coders. To rename ccminer you just need to change a few lines of code.

Why would he rename ccminer to cgminer? cgminer 4.9.0 FYI is an ASIC/FPGA miner.
42  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 1080Ti Specific - Best mining option on: July 06, 2018, 05:32:22 PM
40 mhash, thats 5 cards with the sp-mod @ 800watt for the rig. Could be a gpu miner. I would have expected abit more for a FPGA miner.

Since when does cgminer work on GPUs?
43  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 1080Ti Specific - Best mining option on: July 06, 2018, 01:42:02 PM

Great tip rune, mine a FPGA'ed to fuck coin http://yiimp.eu/?address=LQmvqSLWszrVFj9hU3Ka4ZXVmfqdXfgjLt with your 0.05btc 1% fee miner.
And no, you won't be earning $2.75 per Ti, more like $1.25

What rigs do you have? FPGA'ed what do you mean?

That's not my address (I wish it was) you can clearly see solely from the miner version as well as the hashrate that this person is mining LUX with a bunch of FPGAs.

1sat wall is going higher and higher.
If dev doesn't buy them, this coin is dead for sure.
So what, Jesus died and resurrected in just 3 days.
45  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 1080Ti Specific - Best mining option on: July 06, 2018, 07:31:12 AM
Current profit for lux as of right now is $2.05 i didn't calculate electricity + miner fee %2

no. Dagger is around $1.8 with 54MHASH-

Luxcoin live from yiimp.eu (0.05541BTC / GHASH)

Mining with the sp-mod at 7.5MHASH in the last 24 hours would had given you $2.75

0.05541 * 0.0075 * $6619 = $2.75

So if you mine with more than 4.9 MHASH on lux on your 1080ti. It's more profitable than mining ethereum with the pill..

Well done I got my 10 BTX airdrop without any problem.

Thanks again,

Are you from the past?
47  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: June 26, 2018, 12:12:31 PM
25% of the volume is from hitbtc, my best guess is washing stolen bitcoins.

Washing stolen Bitcoins ends up with that money exchanged back into BTC (fall back of XMR price) then exchanged to fiat (fall of BTC price). And thieves are usually impatient, I think.
So unless it's a very smart (an patient) thief, this theory may not hold.

Still puzzling, who the hell buys that much XMR from hitbtc with its "superb" reputation, "low" fees and "excellent" dust balance management.
48  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: June 25, 2018, 01:52:52 PM
It looks like Monero pulled all coins out of reds. They saw Monero is having good time in greens and they followed him.

It was great to see Monero back to more normal levels, at least against Bitcoin (although there's still some 20% to recover).
I guess it was not Monero alone who did this, Bitcoin seems to also get some traction.
As long as the money flows into cryptocurrencies, all is good. Monero grow vs Bitcoin and Bitcoin growing vs Dollar is the exact scenario I (or we, I guess!) like the most.

I am a bit confused of the reasons, since I didn't hear any news (or I've missed them?), but that's the least problem. Market is not always predictable, especially these days...

49  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero - A secure, private, untraceable cryptocurrency on: June 18, 2018, 01:11:21 PM
hey guys i have been following monero for a long time now and i can see that its the top privacy coin however im seeing a lot of strong competition popping up which seam to have a lot of scaling solutions.
what does monero have planned to address the scaling issues ?
i think in this current era that being able to handle a high amount of transactions per second would be extremely important.

i appreciate any answers and replies in advance.
Thanks

Bullet proofs are developed and in testing, they will bring an 80+% space savings on chain.

Just have to emphasize, Monero does already have an adaptive bock size, being recalculated every day. So even before bullet proofs are implemented, Monero has much more scalability than Bitcoin (without Lightning Network that needs a kind of extra-trust) and many other coins with fixed block size (Bitcoin Cash, Litecoin, Zcash, etc.).

Not to be a party pooper, but just because Monero has adaptive block size does not mean it is "much more scalable" than fixed block size coins with much much smaller transaction size... It only alleviates network congestion at the cost of disk space used by full nodes.

Windwos defender breaking balls most likely.
51  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: June 14, 2018, 11:18:00 AM
where do you think 2018 ends? will it be a total bear year?

No.  Bitcoin will begin to rally sometime this year.

I hope that too, but why it would happen? Ligtning networks? Is there any info Lightning networks are now about to start real world use of the BTC?

What other reasons there are for BTC rally?
Faith, wishful thinking, star alignment, the secret law of attraction, north korea.
52  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero - A secure, private, untraceable cryptocurrency on: June 13, 2018, 12:52:19 PM
odd request.

so I have been granted access to 2 x Phi cards that are not being used, but unfortunately I am an expert in linux or coding and can't figure out a way to use them.

Those Phi are not part of a slurm queue. I know their names but can't us them the way I use other XEON core on slurm queue.

any recommendations?

thanks

What you want is lukminer http://www.lukminer.net/releases/

I guess monero lost it's stronghold for now, from top 5 it losses it's position to now 12 i guess. I believe the blame is on the devs itself because of there are no upcoming news or further developments as of now. I guess it is time for the devs to come up with something new that may convince it's previous and new investors. Not just another community hype but a progress that will make XMR a promising coin for the future.

Dead project.  Move along.  I wish they would work on the development of Monero, but there is never any progress.  I think I will sell my last 3 XMR for cardano or maybe tron, where constant progress is the rule.
Bitconnect is best buy now, 100000x gains by christmas

We voted not to include you in the vote
Where have you voted? Who are the people who voted? What are the criteria to be able to do so?

I am serious here. When the fixed supply have been lifted, there were a debate and a vote.

Did the same process happen regarding this very important decision? Is there any kind of documentation of this process?

The whole thing is called consensus, everyone who doesn't or didnt agree now has XMO/XMC/XM-C, and as the whole eco-system decided that the fork will get consensus ( pools, exchanges all call the Non-Asic Chain XMR )

I guess the poll was a once in a lifetime thing for monero as the community was still small and there also were no other channels like there is nowadays.

There were debates all over reddit for weeks about it ( guess its reddit because there is the biggest part of the community now )
Thank you for the serious answer.

Due to inertie effect, whatever is merged in the Github repo of a protocol manage to gather consensus. So basically it's the monero devs who decided that Bitmain was evil and therefore that Monero should undergo a change of its security backbone? Who are the devs who were pro fork and the one who were against? Were there any demonstration of the dangerousness of the old POW or of the safety of a change?

Can we except other important decisions to be taken the same way in the future?

https://github.com/monero-project/research-lab/blob/master/whitepaper/whitepaper_annotated.pdf

Scroll down to 2.2 The Proof-of-Work function
And yes, hopefully there will be default decisions like this in the future, it shouldn't even be up for debate if we should embrace asics or not, I see this as a patch rather than a game changer.

I wonder if Monero will launch a Masternode?

Look at the limited amount of coins being supported by SetupMasternodes.com
and they're looking to support Quality Masternode based coins.

XMR team is solid, and hopes it can get it going with a MN

Why would XMR really need Masternodes? XMR certainly doesn't need to attempt to make this coin more anonymous by mixing them like Dash does.

yeah, good point on that part. I guess it wouldn't only be the purpose of mixing but an option for people to use the mixing feature? just curious

Adding Masternodes would compromise Monero's anonymity not increase it so you are extolling the virtues of a poor idea thats only reason for being is to increase holders coins and facilitate P&D's.

I think the current mixing process is very good. NO need for the master nodes.

But but, masternodes increase the value of the coin, it is what monero needs these days!

The price will rise if the devs modify their algo. FPGAs and/or ASICs are mining and dumping this coin for long time. Once the algo changes, miners will return and it's price will return to old high again.
What are you talking about? There is nor FPGA, no ASIC for the algo of BTX!

LOL!
Who would develop an ASIC for this specific algo only

There's a fpga for every sha candidate algo, hell even raven is fpga mined currently.
