If you don't like it when people quote you saying things you didn't actually say, you shouldn't do it yourself.

My bad.  That was a bit hypocritical of me.

I won't do that anymore.

Glad we finally found some common ground.  Very mature of you.

Unlike what you just said, there is no possible way what I said could be misinterpreted as being your words, but only as my criticism of you. You on the other hand are not only not making a valid criticism, but are literally just inventing things and inserting it as if it were my own words.

This is what you rely on being Captain Semantics, taking the context out of a situation completely so you can hyper focus on a tiny aspect of the subject to the point of inducing intentional myopic blindness to the context so you can redefine it under the terms that serve your bias most. This is of course generally followed by a session of public masturbation over your own self declared correctitude, as we see displayed above.

It seems to me much like the long line of butthurt toadies already chiming in here, you are more focused on my personality rather than the facts of the matter.

Thanks for yet another brilliant demonstration of the fact that this is about personal feelings towards me and not the facts of the matter.
1203  Other / Meta / Re: Something between "show all" and the default 20 would be nice! on: March 13, 2020, 04:13:02 AM
This is a great point. Perhaps there could be a button for every 10 pages that loads 10 pages at a time? If you didn't want to use it you could just click next for example if you were on page 9 and just wanted the single page 10. This could simultaneously solve loading issues, desire to have a more populated page, reduce the number of page loads required to read a thread, as well as be a partial solution to the "ALL" option disappearing in super long threads.

Maybe that would make a modicum of sense if you really believed anyone would be confused who said what, of course you don't, and it doesn't. This is just more of the same...

1205  Economy / Reputation / Re: I am all people in history ever named “Anonymous”. (And that’s *so* important!) on: March 13, 2020, 03:57:12 AM
"I am Sparticus!"

Sure, whatever:  I am he; he is I!

(But he misspelt “Spartacus”.  Would I do that?  —Quickly, someone must run and check whether “Sparticus” has ever been used by Quickseller and/or PrimeNumber7.  —And would I quote ahistorical movie movie magic made for the purpose of American Communist agitprop?  No offence to OP, but—alas, my reputation must be suffering.)

Stop pretending you didn't inject a spelling error so you could use it as some faux defense the waffle wall was not of your own boring construction.

Exactly. He is like the murder suspect who gets asked a simple question about where he was on the night of the incident, then blurts out something about how the bloodstains on his shoes are from cutting himself on a broken bottle last night when no one asked. He thinks he is a fucking mastermind. He is a tool.
1206  Economy / Reputation / Re: Trust System Abuse By Nullius on: March 13, 2020, 03:48:18 AM
I am not demanding sympathy

It seems like you are.
Make an attempt to be objective, as in - consider how others will perceive the countless 'X is abusing trust system' threads you start - then go back and try reading all these threads you've created about how you are being abused.

How many of them are a direct response to some negative action taken against you?

50%?
80%?
95%?

100%?

It seems to me much like the long line of butthurt toadies already chiming in here, you are more focused on my personality rather than the facts of the matter. After all, your little feigned moderate concern trolling in any threads I make always seems to happen directly after I make comments in Politics & Society, you disagree, and I refuse to be brow beat into your hive mind perspective. I am sure this is just a coincidence, and not a symptom of your inability to separate your personal feelings from the facts of the matter, and is most certainly not being used as a venue for you to extend your political battles via any other means possible.

People are panicking about this to an unbelievable extent. It's a bad disease, to be sure, and some precautions should be taken, but it's not worth putting the entire economy on hold. For example, maybe it'd be a good idea to 100% lock-down nursing homes, but cancelling all university classes and sporting events, or locking down entire countries, or stopping trade between the biggest economies in the world? I think we'll look back at this in a couple of years and see this as a huge hypochondriacal overreaction which kicked off quite a damaging recession. (Though the economy was already unstable in many ways: it's not just the virus.)

Genetic engineering tech is moving along very quickly, and in a decade or two we could very well start seeing "black hat gene hackers" producing genetically-engineered viruses. After seeing the utter chaos from this only-somewhat-worse-than-average virus, I have to wonder how the world will react to those. Can you imagine seeing a new "coronavirus" pandemic every year, or one with even worse spread or symptoms?

(I recently had all of the symptoms of the virus. I wonder if I had it, or if it was just the ordinary flu. It was very unpleasant, though I got over it in a few days.)

Edit: Bonus haiku. Cheesy
Fear! Virus! Unplug:
Still see sky above my head,
Dirt below my feet

The concepts of overreacting and panic and it still being a serious issue are not exclusive. If you understand how epidemiology works as much as anyone who has ever played a game of Plague Inc., you know that the diseases that pose real issues are not the ones with extremely high and fast fatality rates, because those kill off their hosts quickly and the spread stops.

This disease is a problem because it not only is fatal enough to be dangerous, but it has several characteristics which lend itself to nearly universal spread.

-Long incubation period (also makes small scale quarantines largely ineffective)
-Passive symptom free carriers
-Airborne for long periods
-Survives on surfaces
-Can reinfect hosts after recovery
-High rates of infection

Panic is usually never a solution to anything, but the steps being taken are absolutely necessary. It is easy to write this off now because the impact isn't evident yet. These steps are specifically being taken to slow the spread so that the medical infrastructure is not completely overwhelmed with what is coming. Reducing the rate of infection is absolutely crucial to this.

This means expect quarantines. Quarantines means people being stuck in their homes for long periods of time. People being stuck in their homes for long periods of time means panic buying. The panic is absolutely being used for ulterior motives, but as I said previously the concepts of this being serious and people also simultaneously panicking irrationally are not exclusive. Normalcy bias is potentially an even more dangerous threat, because people ignoring the threat by dismissing the panic as totally irrational will ironically create a self fulfilling prophesy just as the people panic buying are with shortages.

I realized today what the obsession over toilet paper is. This is the bargaining phase. This is a result of people who live in well off nations admitting to themselves that there is a problem, but not how serious it is. They are literally saying to themselves "Yeah this is a problem, but it is not THAT big of a deal, at worse the toilet paper runs out." Thus, like the proverbial binky, people rush out to sooth their cognitive dissonance by buying toilet paper to reassure themselves that they have control of the situation when they do not.

1209  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Door To Door Forced Vaccinations Now Taking Place in Samoa on: March 13, 2020, 02:04:15 AM
This whole situation has a lot more meaning in the context of recent events now doesn't it? Anyone else notice how the frothing 2 minutes of hate style attacks on "anti-vaxers" (I.E. anyone who says anything but the official and popular consensus on vaccinations of any kind) was consistently increasing before these recent events? It is almost like some people knew this was coming, isn't it?
1210  Economy / Reputation / Re: Trust System Abuse By Nullius on: March 13, 2020, 01:59:49 AM
You open these threads to draw sympathy to your "problems", but your incessantly foul attitude isn't helping you in that regard.

I'm almost starting to find a guilty level comfort in Tecshare's foul attitude.  I'm not sure how I would feel if he all of the sudden started expressing himself in a diplomatic fashion.  It's kind of like that ripped up pair of jeans that I haven't washed since last summer.  I only wear them when I'm doing yard work, so I know I'll be wallowing in dirt.  Might as well start off dirty.  Know what I mean?

Because that is the important part right? Being the tone police? Certainly the system that exists here to prevent fraud that people have to work very hard to build a reputation within it being abused to silence and meter out retribution to people and hide their own illicit activity is secondary to my attitude now isn't it?

I just thought I would include this here since some butthurt little girl reported it:

Hey dummy. Suchmoon is agreeing with you here. FWIW I agree with you too. You open these threads to draw sympathy to your "problems", but your incessantly foul attitude isn't helping you in that regard. Demanding sympathy because you feel you have been wronged won't be very effective if you're a complete asshole while doing so.

You just described yourself perfectly right here:

I will continue using my own judgement, because yours is tainted with unyielding obsession and spite over people having the audacity to not agree with you, regardless if they are on the right or wrong side of an argument.

Your lack of self-awareness never ceases to amaze me.

Want a carrot?

I am not demanding sympathy, I am demanding reform. There is a difference. Furthermore your only goal in being here, along with Suchmoon, is to use this as you do with any of these situations, as an opportunity to antagonize and chastise me, hence the reciprocal attitude.

This post was reported out of pure butthurt because a joke was being made at their expense. Beyond it being a joke it had meaning in the larger context of the conversation, but mods don't have the time or care to read that far into it do they? Just clickity clack pump those report logs out. Little girls like Nutilduhh and TwittySeal know this so they spam reports knowing a certain percentage will be removed as a result.

Great thread Nullius.

Again, another example of a post with context in the larger thread that some obviously sock puppeting ass hat is trying to get removed because it exposes them.

And finally just for good measure, proving this is just losers searching through my turds looking for peanuts to report because they are upset and offended, here is a post all the way back from January 4th.

Again, it has meaning in the context of the thread. It is about forced medical treatment, and Twittyseal keeps trying to make the argument focus on this bullshit false choice dichotomy of vax vs anti-vax, when all I am arguing for is not imposing forced medical treatments on people. His argument about life expectancy is in fact a non-sequitur, and that is a valid sensible reply regardless of it being short.

There needs to be some kind of feedback system put in place to make it more evident to moderators that certain users are spamming reports as a form of censorship and gaslighting. This is antithetical to any kind of semblance of an environment that claims to support free speech. Knowingly complicit or not, the moderators are enabling and reinforcing this behavior by validating their actions and acting as their personal censorship officers.
1212  Other / Politics & Society / Re: The US should abandon its position as the No1 oil producer on: March 12, 2020, 11:31:03 AM
With current oil prices, this is probably going to happen as a matter of pure economics. The new fracking technologies the US depends on to hold this #1 position is considerably more expensive than say classic oil wells which Saudi Arabia is purposely using to cause a glut in the market right now. Experts have long been warning this position would only be held temporarily well before this anyway.

Use self moderated threads. This is literally one of the main reasons the ability was added as a feature.
1215  Economy / Reputation / Re: PSA: Covert agents manipulate, deceive, and DESTROY REPUTATIONS on: March 12, 2020, 06:00:39 AM
Interesting thing I just realized..

Nullius is Latin for nobody/anonymous..

Ploni Almoni is hebrew for "john doe"/anonymous..

While English uses phrases like John Doe or A N Other to refer to an unnamed or unspecified person, in Hebrew we say ploni almoni or just ploni. In discussing hypothetical scenarios, the Talmud uses ploni to refer to a witness, a bridegroom, or whatever the case maybe.
https://www.thejc.com/judaism/jewish-words/ploni-almoni-1.15782

latin lessons..
hebrew lessons..

hmmm

There are some other really obvious tells, but I am not going to give them more hints so they can use it to be a better con next time.

Whats wrong Nullius? Tuckered out already? Maybe you and Lauda can get together and leave me some more negative ratings because I said you are hunting through my turds for peanuts because you never literally hunted through my turds for peanuts (I mean hopefully you haven't, but who knows), and accusing me of being a liar because of this. I predict yet another sock filtering out of the woodwork to attack me now that you have quite thoroughly burned both of your reputations with this ham-fisted spy game LAARP.
1216  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Seasteading on: March 12, 2020, 03:16:01 AM
Have you looked into biodigesters for sewage processing? IMO it would be a good solution to your disposal issues. It essentially has multiple chambers and allows bacteria to break down the waste into less harmful components which can then safely be released into the ocean with minimal impact to the surrounding water quality. It is also a good source of methane which can be used as fuel. There are lots of great examples of builds on youtube.
1217  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Toilet paper hoarding on: March 12, 2020, 02:58:34 AM
Get a bidet. There are going to be widespread global quarantines, that means possibly months locked in your home under penalty of law. By the end of the month there is going to be no debate over this issue. Prepare. You were warned.

Wow, I didn't realize that me pointing out a possible flaw in one of Tecshare's analogies was going to cause such a stir. I'll be making the needed adjustments.

Just a long line of people desperate for anything to grasp on to in order to deflect from the point, even if it is just based on another desperate attempt to deflect from the point. That's what happens when the never ending peanut hunt is a bust. What's new?
1220  Economy / Reputation / Re: PSA: Covert agents manipulate, deceive, and DESTROY REPUTATIONS on: March 11, 2020, 06:02:37 PM
All that is missing is a Latin lecture.

Well, he just attempted to give me a lecture on hebrew.. Does that count?

Also tried baiting me into a debate about Jews in a topic about censorship, so maybe he is the agent and this op is to sow exactly the paranoia it describes...

Spidey sense has a slight tingle of projection..
Oh shit it’s working.. Now I’m paranoid..

That is just your spidey sense.
