ST6 informed me we have to reboot the server ASAP.

Should happen in a few minutes and will last ~20 minutes.

MTT players may notice their blinds are not increasing.  System will award ICM prizes.  Please email support with any issues.

[EDIT:  it's back / ST6 getting faster]

ANOTHER SCAM IN GAMBLING SECTION

IT IS TIME TO TELL THE MODS IN NO UNCERTAIN TERMS MOST OF THE USERS DO NOT WANT THIS CRAP HERE
528  Economy / Investor-based games / Re: Fucking Ponzi's and the idiots that buy into them on: March 11, 2014, 03:35:16 PM
I'm pretty sure that no one is buying into these Ponzis.  The person running them seems to have a stable of other forum accounts that he uses to claim they are investing and then getting paid back.

I think if you do the traces on the transactions, you'll see the money is just going in circles.  I did this on one of them just to satisfy my curiosity.

If you have the ability to do HS math, you should be able to figure out that ponzis don't work.

standard low post count "It's awesome!"  mixed with tons of copy-pasta type ponzi sites.  Like a few operators are laughing right now.

mem, I'm with you in this fight.  they have simply been allowed to take over.  spirit of marketplace/gambling, destroyed in a scammy ball of bitcoin dust.  I feel it too my man.

The mods are our only hope.  Maybe that or a revolt / peaceful non-violent forum demonstration of some sort.  maybe make 20 threads that all say "PONZI'S GET OUT OF MARKETPLACE / GAMBLING THEY ARE SCAMS"

and bump all 20 each time a ponzi thread is at the top.  Then we make the mods, at the very least, make a /ponzi subcat off marketplace and let the kids try and not be left with the flaming ball of shit when the music stops to their hearts content in this cute little model libertarian community where even blatent scams have a subcat and I totally agree with that because, well, some of these idiot humans running around love to send coins to ponzi's over and over again. And they should have the right to get fucked out of their bitcoins.  but not in a forum of legitimate btc gambling sites.

I've been using the "report to moderator" button on every new one I see.  I figure if everyone does that, they will have to take some sort of notice.

we need to act as a forum.  If we all go nuts on the report to moderator every ponzi every post we can make a change.  But as is, one or 4 of us doing it has clearly been ignored
529  Other / Meta / What about a non-violent forum protest over the Ponzis? on: March 11, 2014, 08:53:42 AM
like we make 20x threads of

"PONZI'S ARE NOT GAMBLING.  MODS PLEASE MAKE A NEW SUB.  LEGITIMATE BITCOIN GAMBLING SITES ARE BEING HURT"

and bump the everyliving nuts out of them and make intelligent discussion over in /meta and try and get the mods to see we are pissed and these ponzi sites, with so many threads, are doing nothing less than ruining what was once a very tightly run and important forum for legitimate bitcoin gambling sites.  A shame all those eyeballs see nothing but Ponzi scams for the past few weeks.  Prolly turned off a bunch of gamblers.  Legit sites are the big losers in this.  -1 bitcoin image too.

1)  Idiocracy has come true.  Many idiot humans can't wait to be 15th in line to the next Ponzi.

2)  Because Bitcointalk has allowed them to over-run one of the most viewed, one of the fastest-growing areas within bitcointalk the following things have occurred in the past weeks:
2a)  Many, many cheap, re-used code sites are popping up daily still.  Who knows how may kid-shit new operators are now encouraged to try and scam some dust
2b)  The massive fragmentation now means that the /Gambling page is cluttered with low-rent ponzi scam sites.  This is an effective marketing tool
2c)  the fragmentation follows the "one site per thread" rule
2d)  many ponzis have failed (Because they are ponzis, and they all fail rather quickly) leaving a trail of tears in marketplace/gambling

3)  this makes bitcointalk much less readable, less valuable, and directs more newb. coins towards scams.  If they are so stupid as to keep sending money to ponzis, why not send the donk-coins to legitimate sites to strengthen them?
532  Economy / Gambling / Re: SealsWithClubs.eu | Largest Bitcoin Poker Site | No Banking | Fast Cashouts on: March 10, 2014, 08:58:52 AM

My point is that without showing evidence, you can't claim that there are cheaters.

1)  ST6 busts their asses busting cheaters.

2)  If you feel accounts are colluding, please tell support@sealswithclubs.eu and IMO post it publicly.  record hand histories or at least the hand number(s)  This is the hard evidence if someone believes collusion is occurring.  Without it, +1 guy on internet screaming it's rigged.

3)  The SwC community actively polices the games.  It's very similar to how at Bellagio or Aria the players are making sure other players aren't cheating.  I encourage all players to speak up if they feel something is unfair.  If you are uncomfortable posting on public forums please msg us via email.  All communication with SwC is private.

Krillament clarification:  No reduction in anything, yes the date-thing was confusing because I simply copied all that were in the lobby at the time.  Obv forgot the 1.25k will roll a bunch of times (every 4 daysish)  and didn't include each one.  same with the 5k.

If you're running a business you shouldn't expect to stay anonymous.

many feel differently in the bitcoin community.  Take a guy like dooglus, I trust him but he's anon.  What about cloudbet & bitcoinvideocasino?  Trust both of them, they choose to run the sites anon.  you are saying this is wrong in general to do?
536  Economy / Gambling / Re: SealsWithClubs.eu | Largest Bitcoin Poker Site | No Banking | Fast Cashouts on: March 06, 2014, 06:56:12 PM
The personal info should be removed, there's absolutely no place for that type of ugliness.

Agreed.  Both Ender's and Satoshi's.
537  Economy / Gambling / Re: SealsWithClubs.eu | Largest Bitcoin Poker Site | No Banking | Fast Cashouts on: March 06, 2014, 07:18:25 AM
And btw, it's kind of unprofessional that SWC allows SD to operate if they're going to pull stunts like that.

The fact that bet has special access to the site (like being able to send people popups, white chat, other functions) would lead new players to believe that it's something SWC offers.

1)  IMO remove his contact info, he didn't do anything to deserve that

2)  chat msging functionality & chat color is the only special thing bet bot has.  It is unfortunate what Ender did, but we have since talked and I'm confident he won't do anything like that again.

3)  A stronger disclaimer is likely needed.

4)  I think my record states how pissed off I was about this, yet I don't see a reason to dox him.  Please reconsider your actions, let's get this moving in a positive direction.

5)  SealsDeals competitors were already close before this, a few are trying very hard to come to market.  If something is really cool, I'm confident ST6 will also all it in chat too.
538  Economy / Gambling / Re: SealsWithClubs.eu | Largest Bitcoin Poker Site | No Banking | Fast Cashouts on: March 03, 2014, 07:09:09 PM
Not sure what all this stuff about bets and sealsdeals is, but one question:

Is it safe to still use SwC for poker? I'm not sure if this sealsdeals is run by the same people, I just want to play poker but am getting the feeling SwC is shady?

Please let me know.

SealsDeals is a 3rd party site that has a bot in lobby chat with the username:  bet

SwC itself has had no issues the past few days and is safe to play.  SwC is run by poker players put out of work from Black Friday.  We are a growing organization that has startup-like pains occasionally, but we have a 2+ year history of keeping the coins safe and processing withdraws in ~12 hours.  This thread and our 2+2 thread serve as an open book of how we have operated since inception.

Certainly there is risk in all things BTC at this point, but IMO SwC has been a pillar of transparency and proper operation.
539  Economy / Gambling / Re: SealsWithClubs.eu | Largest Bitcoin Poker Site | No Banking | Fast Cashouts on: March 03, 2014, 06:41:36 PM

It's just not cool to mess with peoples money.

What Sealsdeals did was break the trust of their users, plan and simple.  And then they had the gall to post a Gox style message "Dont worry...  we are gone, but your coins are all safe".

This is what pissed me off the most.  When it was down with that amateur hour msg, all I could think about were users with 800 chips on SwC and 100 of them in the bet bot #credit waiting to fire on their friends and associates' MTTs.  Bet going intentionally down and posting a Magicaltux-like msg on their site holding player coins made me physically sick.  I had to go AFK for a few hours yesterday so I didn't skype-tilt on glitch anymore.  That being said, a few statements:

1) glitch I was pissed off an unprofessional over Skype yesterday.  Sorry for the wall of anger.  I think it would have been better directed at Ender, but after he made the move to shut it off, he made a similarly cowardly move to be unreachable directly after.   Glitch is an asset to the bitcoin poker community.  He loves the shit as much as I do it seems.  #Brofist.

2) Even with SealsDeals back, I am still 100% available to help any team wishing to create something competing.  The SwC staking market is under no exclusive contract.  If someone builds something better I'm sure the community will vote with their feet.

3)  I believe an apology to the community is needed by Ender.  Regardless of what he hoped to accomplish by doing this, it was wrong, it pissed off players that pay coins to use SD, and did irreparable damage to Ender / SealsDeals integrity.  Now we know if we choose to use SealsDeals, they may simply without any technical reason take the site offline and hold our coins arbitrarily.  This is not the type of service I can see myself using in the future.  Too many unkowns for me.  I am personally going to withdraw all my coins from bet bot and stop using them.  Yes this will mean I'm no longer staking massively as I have been.  When a system I can trust comes along, I'll use it.

4)  WoT - if you guys want a *real* WoT that you can T, then we need to start at square one.  All sites that do staking could use a crowd-sourced real WoT system that makes sense, not one that I can easily think of ways to game it instantly.  Let's start that discussion in a new, more productive thread
540  Economy / Gambling / Re: SealsWithClubs.eu | Largest Bitcoin Poker Site | No Banking | Fast Cashouts on: March 03, 2014, 02:04:02 AM
In response to SealsDeals.info & the bet-bot in SwC chat being down, I would like make the following statements:

1)  I think the decision to do so was childish and unprofessional.

2)  I am personally embarrassed that users have coins stuck in the "credit" part of bet, with only the following msg to explain when their funds will become available again:
"If you sent chips to bet, or if bet owes you chips, don't worry, you'll get them in a day or two at worst."

In response to this, I have asked ST6 not to allow any withdraws from bet at this time.

3) I hope very much that someone makes a competing staking site.  I make myself fully available to consult for free or post publicly my thoughts on trust systems and the other tricky parts.

Is WOT still operable?

no.  the operators took the site offline with little warning.

I am truly hoping another staking site comes up soon, this sudden shut down with customer funds in "Credit" area leaves a bad taste in my mouth, and while I want to stake people on SwC in MTTs I don't think i'll be using bet or sealsdeals anymore.
