1041  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Bryan Micon's Butterfly Labs Scammer Investigation including Josh Zerlan on: April 25, 2013, 07:27:09 AM
I'll admit it appears that BFL is a real company, built by a mail-order scammer, lying about shipping dates and being as dishonest as possible with marketing, and letting a PR guy with a Directv scamming record spew verbal diarrhea at anyone calling question to this obviously questionable scenario.

I hold to the point that BFL gambled pre-order money - and it looks like they may win - but nothing was ever guaranteed.  Full lose was very possible, and they lied and lied and lied to everyone's faces about dates.  Plain 'ole lies.

If they end up shipping something that hashes a little less than what they promised with a little more power consumption than intended they are not going to go down as a scam in the court of public opinion.  Well, it's called a "freeroll" where I'm from.  No downside, only a chance to win.

That being said there is still a fucking mountain to climb here.  The number of preorders... oh what a mountain that must be... and to ship all of those minirig orders at hashrates?

it seems like much, much shipping is yet to be done before BFL is "not a scam" but I will say that they do appear at this stage to have a product.  Which is about when most companies start taking pre-orders.

For those that are new, the user that creates the statement at betsofshitco.in gets 5% of all coins wagered on the statement, so it's in their interest to promote it like this.
1047  Economy / Gambling / Re: Bryan Micon's "Bet Me Anything" thread on: April 22, 2013, 07:35:24 PM
I was trying to think of some non-sports props we could do.  I thought of one involving chess.  Do you play at all?  Would you be interested in something like that?  It wouldn't be one where it would be possible to cheat by using a computer on my side.  On my side I would have to trust you not to.

1)   appreciate KGambler jumping in this thread and obviously being a serious bettor.

2)   I wouldn't mind if this thread turns into "bet anyone anything" and KGambler handles most of the sports action.   Clearly I'm not endorsing him in any way as I just met the guy, but he seems legit from the onset.  Obviously proteck ya' neck.

3)  Not too terribly interested in Chess or the shenani-sports wager you proposed.  I'm not opposed to widening the spread a bit from a traditional site like pinny just to give a guy action, but I'm hoping to turn this thread into a really honest and available "Betsofbetco.in" alternative - i.e. statement betting that usually falls under the "shenanigans" category, usually having to do with current events, and usually something that is very likely to settle soon, like in a few days.  Not the 2016 elections.

Still appreciate all the interest and if p-2-p betting (not just p-2-micon betting) takes off in this thread I'll change the title.

Also want a line on this... gonna put requested bets in red

Miami Heat to win 6 straight at any point during playoffs.

Miami Heat to NOT win NBA Championship

Sorry for not getting back sooner, I see the heat game has started.

I will still honor either bet and offer them for the next 20 hours:

I'll start posting available bets in a different color, let's say green, as they are available for action.   Maybe I should update the OP with them if this thread starts getting really serious.

BOOKED on Miami Heat to win 6 straight for 2.0 BTC.  I have TRUE.

I will always put requested props in red.  This thread will never die.

I sent the coins already.

edit:  GL

booked / rec'd glglgl

I am a StL Cardinals fan, and I'm wondering how you would handicap a bet for total wins awarded to the pitcher in a competition between Shelby Miller and Lance Lynn by the all star break. Depending on the odds you offer I could take either through the all star break, and I'd like to take Shelby Miller has more wins than Lance Lynn at the end of the MLB regular season.

I try to shy away from sports bets in general (but obv if some1 needs action i'll give a price) and I really hate baseball.  I have not desire to research this bet and respectfully decline.

I'm primarily looking for "shenanigans" bets like on bombers and reality tv and politics and shit.

1050  Economy / Gambling / Re: 280 BTC total bets between Micon and mrb (are BFL ASICs real?) on: April 21, 2013, 09:36:47 PM
http://codinginmysleep.com/bfl-jalapeno-unboxing-and-demo/

We may have one down with two to go. I'm not sure If David paid for his unit so he may not qualify as a customer. I'll try to get that info from him. If he's been been to BFL, let me know. BTCguild shows 5.5 gh/s avg but David states it is fluctuating from 4.5 to 5.5 on bfgminer so we can avg at 5gh/s. Also this is measured with killawatt after powerbrick so draw should actually be lower. In any case, 5 gh/s at 30.2 brings us to:

165.56 mh/j

I trust Dave, and love his codinginmysleep blog.  I think he's super smart and not a "Luke-Jr" in that i think he is altruist and cannot be corrupted.

That being said Dave has very close ties to BFL.  He says at the end of this video that he is going to take the thing apart.  I anxiously await that vid.  And to see if this thing doesn't melt his desk.

If we see a few more of these start to arrive with other trusted organizations (bitcoin foundation, Jeff G, Gav) and get similar reports then I will stop wagering on them failing.  If another month goes by without another verified unit then I'm still confident.

Certainly an uptick for the Pro-BFL bettors.  Looks like their power draw isn't close to what was promised, and it looks like the latest round of bets, if mass shipment is made, will be relatively close on the power rating front.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=_6mmTRheUzg

I trust David, seems as if BFL has shipped him something that hashes.

david is close to BFL.  It seems he communicates with the top brass there frequently, but i still trust him so this is certainly eyebrow-raising.

He mentions in the video he was going to take it apart, i hope that is posted soon.

Seems like if BFL could make 1, they could make lots, and quickly.

Could this be the "Luke Unit" repackaged?  that theory seems a little out there right now, but you never know with BFL.

:popcorn indeed...
1052  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Bryan Micon's Butterfly Labs Scammer Investigation including Josh Zerlan on: April 20, 2013, 07:40:29 PM
no but seriously, do u think this is really a BFL chip hashing at 5 gh/s ?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uez9AVfDQIg

just needs to be powered by nuclear?  can't possibly jam it onto a pcd and make it look like a consumer electronics product?  must be in this "mad scientist prototype" setup in order to work?

would love to hear what BitSyncom thinks about it, as he usually isn't one for jokes and claimed they reached that stage "1.2 months before shipping"

my questions is does anyone closely following this story believe they have chips?  these videos aren't another rouse?

to shred some light, the model is already made, as we have many prototypes and designs in house, it was a matter of if there's enough demand to warrant a batch.

If not, it'll just get made in a later timeline, for next generation for example.

I will offer you full price paid immeidately in BTC + JoshZerlan.com domain + ad on DonkDown for anything you wish + I will wear a patch at WSOP with Avalon logo + put anything in my signature + 10 oz. of my super-blood (I'm o- universal donor & never get sick) & dress my first born dauther in an "Avalon" onesie and post a pic on here.

essentially, I must have one of your miners and really want in on the ASIC game.  Will offer all I can possible offer for one.  Super excited.

Even though it now appears he is in custody alive, I agree the correct thing to do based on the time stamp of this clear misunderstanding is to refund the .5  [waiting for first troll to liken this to Coinjedi, but in actuality its a great example of when to declare "push"  - as there is no chance I would have taken IveBeenBit's .5 if he lost]

pm me a hash / i'll ship it right away.

Also FYI for the future I am *USUALLY* only offering 1 side of the bet - not like a sportsbook - because there is clear side that I want to bet on.

Damn...another 10 minutes and I may have had action. I've been running bad on these sort of bets.

Anyways, like I said, you can use the sending address: 1HcnT8pYqNu5xAW1pZpcAzAf9NZPKrLrmQ. Thanks.

.5 re-shipped, at least u thought u bet the losing side & pushed Smiley

Thought I'd share some irrational PMs I just got from "Mastercoin" who apparently believes that if he thinks about a wager, it's booked action with me:

after I posted the Lakers odds, he replied with this:

Can we do a trust bast bet here I'm trying to establish myself as a am geniue for me to build my reputation.

As i trust you to do to the same

I'f you win I'll send coins to you specified address

I'f I win you will send coins to my specified address

Lakers -150 I'll wager 2 coin on them making playoff and you got them NOT making playoffs

As the games are tomorrow

PM ASAP I'f you wanna lock
This in!!

of course you have to post coins.  This sounds like nonsense. I did not respond to this PM.  So without any reason to think he has booked action:

YAYA lakers made it to the playoffs without "black mamba" utah lost so that guarantees a lock in the playoffs for the lakers!!

odds you gave -150 .5min 6max ( 2 coin bet )

please send coin to this address

1Dz7H6PHmWiws5BysDkEtNtjezsUAQSa9Y

if you want to run it back let me know on the bet and well get it going bro!!!

I reply saying you obviously didn't have action, how could you ever think you did?

Really bro..? You didn't receive this message from anybody else. You posted in the thread to my bet and you posted odds an addition to the "pm" I sent you as well I mean it's cool I guess I'f you don't want to pay as I can see from your point.. I'f the other way around as I would have payed you your winnings based on the thread posting and pm. It was just a 2 coin bet -150 odds

I like your stilo though on wagering   - We can get another bet going whatcha have in mind..?

Just pm me bet well come up with odds I'f any then send winnings to specified address

Just curious.. When comming to the bomber bet when how would the winner be declared based on "suspect in custody" or based on a conviction ..?

and then:

Really bro as far as I'm concerned you and I know both know I  won that laker bet and you Owe me coin odds -150 " your posting " with a 2 coin bet

As I am going to tarnish your name and rep on the forums along with my partners and associates will as well for not keeping your word

Either send coins to this address 1Dz7H6PHmWiws5BysDkEtNtjezsUAQSa9Y

Or transfer seal chips to my account: Callorfold
equivalent to the wager winnings or I will have no choice to take action and promote another poker site and all my resources to bring yours down!! Not a threat a promise as you not paying your bet that I won and that's a big deal where I'm from and everybody else for that matter

and then:

Are you really going to act dumb whatever I'm canceling accounts and all under and any future account at seals as I am no longer promoting your Jewish site as you do not repay bets and I am going to post you in the forums along with my associates as will to it your call  and you had was transfer seal chips to username: callorfold

Goodluck I'm fulltime job is bringing you and seals down now good job man congrats you got what you asked for good one dude you jew!!

so be on the lookout for "mastercoin" to tarnish my reputation and stop promoting all my "jewish" site Smiley   lulz
1057  Economy / Gambling / Re: Bryan Micon's "Bet Me Anything" thread on: April 20, 2013, 12:58:13 AM
Reading what he wrote, it looks like he never offered that bet.  Reading what you both wrote, it looks like a misunderstanding and you both wanted the same side.  It looks like a "no action" result - no bet.

My understanding was that Micon set the line and I could choose a side. If KGambler is right, then I'll take "true" in Micon's statement, as written, if he agrees to bump the odds to +175. Otherwise, just send the BTC0.5 coins back to the address they came from.

Thanks for your input KGambler.

I offer the following:

Statement:  "Boston Marathon Bomber Suspect #2 Dzhokar Tsarnaev taken into custody alive by any worldwide law enforcement body by 12:01am EST 5/1/2013.  He must stay alive for 12 hours after the earliest news report he is in custody"

Odds to bet "True" on the above statement:  +150
min bet: .5 btc
max bet: 2 btc

hash: 12gER9apoavPLgdqY6bpcPSxeTHpaRKVtH

Bet good for

offer good for 12 hours or until the very first time-stamped report of "suspect catptured" [the very first will likely be a tweet]

Damn....tough line. I have spent about 20 minutes trying to decide what side to take. I'm in for BTC0.5 on "False." At +170ish I probably would have taken the other side.

My reasoning - even if the kid legitimately surrenders, the stories that he has a suicide vest will make the cops way more trigger happy.

I rec'd .5 btc on "Bomber 2 taking alive" at +150  - was this you?  If it's some1 else, just easily prove that transaction was you.

glglglgl whoever is betting on this guy taken alive!  i think he's gonna get waxed.

I'm interested in how you make fun of Christians? C'mon, don't be shy.

I think that discussion is best for another thread [and I am happy to engage in a respectful debate] as I have done numberous times on the subject on DonkDown radio [which you are welcome to come on next Wednesday, again for respectful debate]

this is assuming you are Christian.

I bet mooslums

shipped 10 coins just now to your PM'd hash.  GLGLGLGLGLGLGL

Micon - do you want to set a line on whether the 2nd suspect will be taken dead or alive?

Edit: Congratulations on your win.

I personally think they are going to swiss cheese that bitch like they did his brother.  Now the kid is only 19, so you have that variance element as well.  Other possible outcomes are "they never find the fucker" and "there are 7 suspects" so like all well-written statements, we must add a date and a name to this as well.  I'm also throwing in Interpool / all worldwide law enforcement entities so we don't "coinjedi something" by saying "police" when "FBI" actually makes the collar.  Also note I will never, ever "Coinjedi" or "Bestofbitco.in" anyone who bets me.  I am a gentleman gambler and have proved so here in LV for many, many years.  I will always consider intent from both sides and will always strive to make the fairest decision.  If there is ever a question about a bet we can go to a poll or a trusted panel of 5 for arbitration.  I am never interested in collecting a quick buck at the sake of my reputation.

Mooslims!

From: http://dailycaller.com/2013/04/19/dead-boston-bombing-suspect-was-a-very-religious-muslim-boxer/

Quote
Tamerlan Tsarnaev, one of the two Chechen brothers identified as the suspects in the Boston Marathon bombing, was a self-described “very religious” Muslim boxer who yearned for Chechen independence and who posed for a photo essay entitled “Will Box for Passport.”

pay the mooslims, take the "won't catch"

Yes, I would say both bets are concluded.  One of the guys has been apprehended already (died) and both were/are muslims.  So I won 2.0 BTC net (5 - 3).  gg Micon

Indeed.  "at least 1" is certainly satisfied.  You win the 5 coin Mooslum bet.  Yes, that is religiously insensitive, because organized religion is bullshit.   I drink to that as I ask KGambler to send me a hash for a 10 coin mooslum headshot.

Tell 'em where u got it from!
