love it.

I bought a million dollar homepage 100 pixels too.

Very cool automated system, really want that on my DonkDown site too
1062  Economy / Gambling / Re: Bryan Micon's "Bet Me Anything" thread on: April 18, 2013, 11:05:08 PM
The photos have been released.  They are not clear.  They look a little darker skinned with black hair, but they could be any of many ethnicities.

I am willing to give you +200 on non-muslims now if you want more action.

Edit:  Of course, decent chance those aren't even the bombers.

1)  this thread is going to be epic, i can already feel it.

2)  I'm good right now, but thanks for the +200 offer.  I def. like the action I have through the weekend, although I will say it feels very 50-50 to me right now, so I'm gonna say it was a decent line.

1063  Economy / Gambling / Re: Bryan Micon's "Bet Me Anything" thread on: April 18, 2013, 07:52:27 PM
Sounds like they have a suspect in custody.  It could be another Richard Jewell fail but it sounds like they have some good leads.  They supposedly caught a guy on camera leaving a bag at the scene of the crime.

Media is saying the motive is still unknown.  This could mean you won both bets.  But probably it means that his name is Muhammed Abdul Farouk, but neither LE nor the media want to "speculate".

EDIT: NEVERMIND, NOW REPORTS COMING IN THAT NO ONE IS IN CUSTODY.  WHO KNOWS?

and that's why it's fun to have action on this.  Now the news is like watching sports.

Cops are now claiming to have good photos of 2 suspects and will be releasing them later today....this is getting exciting!

I know, sort of loving this wager.  Obviously I have the "win-win" or "lose-lose" side of the bet:  either they catch the fucker(s) and I win btc, or the bombers get away (for now) and I lose btc.  Fun sweat indeed.

Also Note:  I had a guy PM me asking for payment on a -150 Lakers bet.  Obviously I didn't book any such bet.  For those wanting to wager, it is very simply and I'm very fair, but you of course must post coins to me (or escrow in the case of a large wager to protect the bettor) to have action.   I will also reply in this thread saying "booked"

Fishface I have confirmed your .8 coins rec'd and you are booked, even though you were booked before, just re-iterating that I was stupid and pasted the wrong hash, but luckily got it worked out.  You will win a full 4 coins + your wager back, or 4.8 BTC if Denver somehow makes it through the gauntlet.

BTCMLM is the first online Multi Level Marketing system for bitcoin users.
It will
be the most effective and formidable MLM in the world, which, combined with

initial
invitation codes will be sent. Please apply for invitation code as soon as
possible!

Request an initial invitation code<https://btcmlm.org/invitation_request/new>

BTCMLM Development Stages

Stage 1: Open registration

BTCMLM will only release 21 initial invitations, and that’s all. No initial
invitation
will ever be added within one year. After that, BTCMLM will release only 12
more
invitations each year.

Everyone interested in joining BTCMLM, should have valid invitation code to
register successfully.

Commissions will be sent according to systematic calculation every 24
hours.
(GTM00:00) (See detail commission plan)

Stage 2: Open APIs

After BTCMLM has more than 2,100 registered members, we’ll release BTCMLM
APIs to the public, by which developers can sell their own virtual products
or
services through the formidable BTCMLM sales force.

At the same time, BTCMLM will exhaust every possibility of cooperating with
online companies who have already accepted BTC as regular payment, and sell
their virtual products and services.

And, this means members of BTCMLM will have an endless stream of virtual
products and services to sell, which means continuous profiting
possibilities.

Stage 3: Go IPO in the Bitcoin community

After BTCMLM has more than 21,000 registered members, BTCMLM will sell 10%
shares to the public, and the first 21,000 members of MLM have preferential
rights to
buy the shares. BTCMLM will always publish its revenue book in real time
after its
initial launching.

Why join BTCMLM?

BTCMLM is in essence a powerful and effective distributing system, ideal
for selling
virtual products and services.

It’s powerful, because BTCMLM is the world’s first online BTC Multi Level
Marketing
system, and it’s enjoying the pioneer advantage inherited from the nature
of the Internet.

It’s effective, because it will be the most formidable sales force in the
world. While the
individuals in the network are sellers, they are also investors, leaders of
their own
network, which they’re building, maintaining, and sharing.

It’s ideal for selling virtual products and services, because it only
accept Bitcoin, the most
prevalent and influential virtual currency in the world, and therefore has
an innate power
related to Bitcoin which has already had a huge population of users.

BTCMLM is unique in that it’s immune to the accusation of scam. Since the
largest
market in the world now is that of virtual products and services, think of
software, music (mp3),
movies (avi), advertisement (click) or any website or apps that provide
valuable functionalities,
any one of members in the BTCMLM system has endless opportunity to sell and
profit.

Another more important reason is that BTCMLM was design to be rational,
with a triple
powered network mechanism, and with a 10-level distribution system, the
least number
of members in a network of a top level BTCMLM member is only 310 = 59,049,
which is
a realistic prospect.

Another advantage of BTCMLM is it’s online! To develop your own network,
you’re not
necessarily being with your acquaintances or relatives. You build your
network online,
using valid reasoning and vivid descriptions to persuade those who are
rational and
visionary. Posting on twitter, facebook, or tumbler is only a snap efforts,
but is already
enough to recruit members from any country on the Earth. Or you can build a
static
website (which is extremely easy nowadays) and attract infinite visitors by
invest some
money on Google Adsense... The best of all, you’ll enjoy the profit of your
own network
for good.

Bought 5x 1btc 2011 coins from C directly when he came to CES some year.. I guess it had to be 2012 early....

Anyway, I think all 5 were around $20 total.. coin was cheap... a graph may be able to pinpoint the time..

I gave away 2 of them that day to promote BTC to my friends.  Still have these 3 in a safe. Yes, they are on the USD naturally and it would have been more work to hide the fiat:

I am interested in betting on the Denver Nuggets reaching the NBA finals (winning the Western Conference). What odds would you offer here?

+500 on Denver to make NBA finals

I'd put 0.8 btc on it.

1)  I may have fucked up and put the wrong hash... [that hash is in my "address book" not the "receive coins" on my satoshi wallet.. am i fucked?]

no worries though, you certainly have action if you sent.

2) New Denver +500 hash for future bets:

1070  Economy / Gambling / Re: 80 BTC bet between Micon and mrb (are BFL ASICs real?) on: April 17, 2013, 08:26:37 PM
It is unbelievable to me the amount of fail that is going to go into not only mrb and I almost assuredly losing our original bets on BFL, but possibly also SgtSpike. Congrats Micon, while I won't officially concede at this point, I think it's pretty unlikely that we'll meet 350MH/J given that Josh has said expect 170MH/J. SgtSpike should be safe baring BFL catastrophe, but who knows at this point.

I expect at least a shoutout as a sponsor if you make the November Nine from my bet. Tongue

MrTeal and I settled our bet, he sent me his code & I collected the 75 coins and sent him the 5 coin settlement as promised.

We are talking about the power draw of the device, not device + host, as host has nothing to do with the efficiency of the miner. Surely someone will post confirmation of the device plugged directly into a killawatt with the host going to another outlet, or will provide such a video on request.  USB max power is around 2.5 watts, so that's minimal.

Edit-
Measuring at the jack would be more accurate as mrb states, and I'm fine going by those rules as well. Although, I wouldn't want to depend on three customers pulling out their multimeters and posting a video before July 1st. I'm going to agree with Micon that deciding winners will be pretty clear cut, and I trust that he would accept a video of either method proving 150mh/j

no problems.  Measured at the jack is fine.  I do not anticipate any issues.
It is a good point that the point of measurement wasn't specified in the bet between Micon and myself as well.  I think it is reasonable to disclude the power supply inefficiencies.  Micon, agree that measurement at the jack and not at the wall is to be used for our bet as well then?

at the jack, not the wall no problem.
1071  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Bryan Micon's Butterfly Labs Scammer Investigation including Josh Zerlan on: April 17, 2013, 08:08:15 PM
so here is the supposed "Luke Unit" hashing on Josh's pool (lol ppl really connect to his pool? ppl should not trust Josh Zerlan with hashing power IMO)

http://eligius.st/~wizkid057/newstats/userstats.php/1CdcYVP4T4hjHwt353pEnGHrigeDLvuvZL

Does anyone believe this is the luke Unit?  that it's really been hashing that fast for that long?

I would love to hear opinions.

is it just eating power like a boss?

so hot you can fry an egg on it?

special pcb or not even mounted on a board, i.e. no real way to take it from lab --> consumer product?

Updated "Lakers to Make the Playoffs"

max: 6 btc
odds: -600

[for lakers not to make playoffs, Utah needs to win (they are +5 underdogs, playing on the road) and LA needs to lose (they are 2.5 point favorites, playing at home)

lucky no 1 hit me up for -300 that was a very +EV offer I posted yesterday.

I bet that BTCGuild average not less than 7652762 shares per block for the first 24 hours after the next retarget.

I will need to research BTCGuild and the share system in order to offer you a bet on this.  Allow me time.  Thanks.

To keep this bet even money, now that time has elapsed, I must adjust the strike time/date:

At least 1 Boston Marathon suspect is named AND apprehended by 4/21/2013 11:59 EST.  The suspect must not be released within 72 hours of arrest.

I have "true"

"No" is available at Even money.   Available for the next 11 hours unless obvious news changes things.

can PM a hash if you do not want this public.

OK, booked.  I shipped 3 BTC.  Unfortunately, it doesn't look like they have a clue who did it or why.  No one has even claimed responsibility.  Hope I am wrong on this one.

I just logged on and sent 1.2 coins before I saw KGambler had already sent the max on our bet that you would take. I guess if BTC4.2 is too much action, you can return the coins to the address they came from. This is why I wanted you to send me the address in a PM.

both are booked / I'll take 4.2 coin on it / but I am closing that bet so it doesn't grow further.

min bet: 0.5 coin
max bet: 5 coins
odds: even $

Let me know if you get coins.

OK, I shipped 5 coins.  I have MOOSLIMS.  Good luck.

I may take the "not caught bet too".  Wouldn't mind losing that one though.  When you write 11:59 EST, most people are probably going to take that to mean 11:59 AM EST.  If it's supposed to be PM or 23:59, I would clarify.

I bet that the Boston Marathon bomber isn't caught this week.

At least 1 Boston Marathon suspect is named AND apprehended by 4/19/2013 11:59 EST

I have "Yes"

"No" is available at Even money.   Available for the next 6 hours unless obvious news changes things.

I can post a hash publicly or PM it.

I'll take "No" at even money if you're still taking action on this. One more thing -- if they arrest someone, but then release him within 72 hours, "Sorry, wrong guy" then I win the bet. If suspect is held longer than 72 hours I lose. PM an address and betting limits if you're down.

Micon: I sent 100 BTC to http://blockchain.info/address/1Dtf7TrZrQr7QooVGoKfd99rxHNoikQ3EH

Terms of the bet copied below (and very slightly edited for clarity):

BFL will ship out at least 3 ASIC mining devices capable of at least 150MH/s per watt to at least 3 customers (at least 1 device per customer) who post pix & verify hashrate by 12:01am EST July 1st 2013.  No BFL-employee or anyone that has been to BFL labs personally can qualify to publish pix & hashrate.  Power should be measured just like in our first bet: by adding up current from all the device's DC inputs (12V jack, USB cable, etc.) It will not be measured "at the wall". The purpose of this bet is to avoid wildly varying efficiencies of power adapters and computer hosts.

mrb believes the above statement is true.
Micon believes it is false.

Micon, please quote me and send your 100 BTC. Dooglus: thanks for being the escrow!

This is booked, I will send coins to the hash in the next 12 hrs.

New line Lakers -300

My friend sent with no transaction fee.  Any idea how long this is gonna take?

1)  those can take forever.  I am not familiar with how long it would take (always add tx fee IMO)
2)  The new line is -300  | if you do not want that price I will send back as soon as I rec'd it.

While this thread has been up and down in terms of entertainment value, one of the most actually interesting aspects of it is the implementation in the real world of this escrow concept, which could be easily used for non-gambling contracts and effectively be self-enforcing.  Conceivably, practices like this could cull the herd of the worst scammers, without the inefficiencies of the court system, that has so far prevented these scammers from being prosecuted and allowed them to steal at will.

Of course, as the real value of trusted arbitrators increased, it might be they eventually would cost as much as real judges and mediators.

IMO trusted users like dooglus should make a small % acting as escrow.  could btc-address could easily add functionality to send a small % to the escrow agent once the bet was settled?   most times the escrow would automatically make the small commish, occasionally a big fiasco would arise and a real determination would need to be made.  That is where the escrow earns all those small %'s over time IMO.
