1281  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Bryan Micon's Butterfly Labs Scammer Investigation including Josh Zerlan on: February 14, 2013, 08:37:36 PM

I'll give Bryan credit for calling the Pirateat40 debacle but are you going to eat crow if BFL ships?

1)  Crow will be eating if BFL ships.

2)  here is Josh Zerlan's latest trolling of my bet thread, again with moderators telling me that I'm the one out of line:

Haha by the end of the month is the only thing Bryan Micon, the "professional poker player" is willing to wager now.  From "It's definitely a scam! No doubt about it!" to "Well, by the end of the month." in the span of a month.

and then just now:

Also willing to bet BFL will not ship by 3/15 (ides of March)  Sgt Spike

If anyone has offers, such as "hey Micon, i'll bet you my 50 coins vs. your 25 coins that BFL ships at least 5 customers 350 Mhash/Joule+ ASIC devices pictured, tested, and working by the end of March"  go ahead and throw them out here.

Don't let trolls in this thread deter you from offering something.  All bets made so far have been very Gentleman-like between the bettors.  Contrary to some early trolls, there is nothing wrong with putting something out there and having the other side say no.  Also, nothing wrong with quick negotiation of terms so both sides are happy with the bet (until it settles Smiley

so if anyone wants some near-term BFL will ship action, I'm open to suggestions and very much want to take the "BFL won't ship in near-term" side.

Just gonna quote the above for the inevitable back peddling that Bryan Micon is sure to do later.

So now it's "I very much want to take the 'BFL won't ship near-term' side." which is a far cry from "BFL is a scam!  I am positive!"

See, if Bryan Micon wasn't a liar, then taking a bet for near term, long term, forever-term would be a no brainer.  But since he's unwilling to do that, he's clearly demonstrating the fact that he lied from the beginning.  It's fortunate you all are doing escrow with these bets, since he has a history of welching on his contracts and deals in the past and is a known poker scammer.

Anyone willing to do bets with him should definitely do escrow or he'll rip you off.

isn't something supposed to be getting bumped today?  and it wasn't a betting thread.

Sorry, I've been looking for an hour... can't find the way to adjust this link

https://sealswithclubs.eu/aff.php?aff=125

to take someone to the promotions page, but still be a referral link.

I've been looking on forums, sealswithclubs.eu and googling it with no avail.  Even tried my own adjustments but get "page not found"

Mind posting those instructions or a link to where I can't find it?  Thanks lots!

Will need to get this confirmed by Freemo but it appears you can only link to the home page and get affiliate credit at this point.  Will get technical details on this.
1284  Economy / Gambling / Re: 80 BTC bet between Micon and mrb (are BFL ASICs real?) on: February 14, 2013, 03:23:34 PM
I am sorry but Micon was wrong from the start, but the CES event was epic.

BFL FTW cha-ching

Our group expects to be mining by the end of the month at the very least.  Just hoping bumping is going well.

Will book 20 more coins that you are not mining BFL ASIC chips running at 350+ Mhash/Joule by the end of the month.

If anyone is interested we can get some C's tool escrow codes.

Here is the poker game of the minute that needs bitcoin love.

Open face chinese poker!

Already mentioned in the Android development site.

I am the guy helping with the graphics.

And to put my 2 LTC in, I too think it's time to go public with Seals.  Wink

1)  I heart OFC so much.  Bought some domains a few months ago after it took off WSOP 2012.  I really, really want to make an OFC for btc game.

2)  Going "public" with Seals is an odd way to say it - we are totally open to the public now - but I feel what you mean - you want us to buy ads in Cardplayer / Bluff / Pnews / etc and make a big noise in the poker world.  Remember this is a major cost - something we are looking into, something we are likely to fire on soon, but something that is not to be taken lightly.   Cliffs:  We're on it.

3)  FFFF (500 chip or .5 btc freeroll with ~ 20ish players lucky enough to scoop 1 of these codes:) snapping off in 10 min. Here are 4 1x use codes for the 4 fastest fingers:

Does SwC keep hand histories?  In the future, will you guys analyze that data to find colluders or cheaters?  Would you let a third party do analysis if you guys aren't currently doing it.

Yes they do.  And anytime I've seen anyone try shenanigans Freemoney responds swiftly and well.

1)  we take security very seriously.  Anyone that has ever accused any other player or players of unfair play can attest that we have investigated it.

2)  I and the rest of ST6 have a shit ton of experience.  I personally had my first online poker account at Paradise poker in 1999.  In short, we are always trying to find and eliminate cheaters on Seals.  our policy is very clearly stated in the FAQ:  "We reserve the right to handle cheating, collusion, or otherwise unfair play at our sole discretion"  which means that when you play on Seals, you are trusting us to handle any future situation fairly, openly, and honestly.  I think our reputation over the last 1.6 yrs speaks for itself.

3)  if you ever think someone is cheating, colluding, or otherwise corrupting the games or the system of SealsWithClubs, please report it immediately across all our communications channels:  admin at Sealswithclubs dot eu, this thread, twitter, facebook, Reddit &/or SwC lobby chat.   We are 100% committed to spreading fair, low-rake games with lightning fast cashouts.

Not to crash SoC's party, but what are alternatives with reasonable amount of players?

The first bitcoin poker site went down after getting hacked: http://betco.in/

PMPoker had regular freerolls for a while and attracted around 10 regular players, but I don't think anyone plays there any more.  The Windows-only Delphi client kept crashing every time I tried it, too: http://pmpoker.com/

Strike Sapphire Casino used to have popular freerolls and the occasional real-money ring game, but when they cracked down on groups of players who knew each other playing the games kind of died out: http://strikesapphire.com/

Infiniti Poker has been threatening to launch for a while now, but seems to be in closed beta: http://www.infinitipoker.com/

All-in-all, Seals is where it's at for Bitcoin poker: https://sealswithclubs.eu

ty for the kind words.  From you, that means alot to me.  Which means I read this forum way too much.

2 off topic Q's while I gotcha here though

1)  when, in your opinion, is Bitmillions +EV to buy a bunch of tickets for?  i.e. what does the jackpot have to be on each of them to warrant firing? I got a feeling when it first came out that bottom jackpot was very +EV and the middle was too when it was like 200+ coins

2)  when, in your opinion, is bitcoinvideopoker +EV to turn autoplay on and just let it grind like a boss?  IMO ~ 4500 ish

Not to crash SoC's party, but what are alternatives with reasonable amount of players?

no crash party at all - free and open discussion about all bitcoin poker IMO.

but if you google around, you can find that SwC is the balls when it comes to bitcoin online poker in 2/2013.  We have the only active "pure bitcoin" site around.  I'm very proud to say there is not a close second currently.  This is likely to change by the end of 2013, as there are bound to be more entrants into this space very soon.

until then,

I do really love this site, Poker with BitCoins and no Poker tracking software. Instant deposit and fast cashout.

Only thing I'm not particularly a big fan of is the software, don't get me wrong it does the job just fine, but might put a lot off. Used the Android client recently and that's not too bad I guess. If this site had a proper downloadable Windows client, I honestly think it'd take off just like any other Poker site. I think it could even end up in the top few poker sites if it had a polished downloadable client.

For some feedback:
I love the tables. They work just great, and not much different in feel and appearance to any other Poker site. Nice sound effects of chips, something gamblers like to hear on their tables lol.
It's the table browser, trying to find a game/tourny that I don't like. Feels quite clunky, can't use the scroll-wheel which is a bit annoying. No filter, although it's not particularly necessary when it averages at 100-300 players (Android client has a filter though!). Quite old-fashioned in the way that it has 2 separate columns (Seats : Play) for showing whose playing, rather than say 1 column that says 2/6 (meaning 6 seats 2 seated). Am I being too picky?

It's a great site anyway, just giving my feedback as a player.
It's a nice fresh change to typical poker rooms where everyone (including myself) relies on poker tracking software to track player history.

I'm gonna start playing here more often, I don't know why I didn't start playing here before.
I think it's because I couldn't part with my Poker Tracker, lol...

tyvm for feedback.  Note that SwC is always working behind the scenes.

A full featured client with tons of new games and awesome features is something almost everyone wants, but is incredibly complex system to build and is not something to be taken lightly.  I thank you very much for this feedback, I agree with you on all points.  [FFFF insertion: FFF-^FLW5MVTZH ] I personally have been playing mostly on the Android app because like you said it sorts better (or at all) and IMO the playing experience is a better if you are just playing 1 table.  Better Multitable functionality is being built into a not-too-far-in-the-future version so the "now" answer may become a 10 in" android tablet...

Also, I hope you fingers are FAST

FFF-EPLGC#JZTK
FFF-PEI^R51TM9

and thanks for the feedback for real - I can tell you gave your honest opinion & that's always nice to see IMO.

wow I can't believe how late I am on BitMillions.

bravo OP / amazing site.

I bought some tickets today of course.  I will be covering this site in my next Bitcoin Magazine gambling article.  Absolutely brilliant.  Tough fight between this and bitcoinvideopoker for best new pure btc gaming site recently.

love seeing projects like this pop up - and also pretty awesome how you did all the work then just dropped it on the community almost perfect - really, really great job.

I will be firing.  This will create another good blockchain stress test similar to SatoshiDice - I think this will be that level of popular.
1293  Economy / Gambling / Re: Open face chinese poker on: February 07, 2013, 08:56:55 PM
I would love to make an OFC bitcoin game.

I own "faceupchinese.com" and "faceupchinesepoker.com" if anyon1 wants to take a run at it...

also know a sick Android dev that just did the SealsWithClubs Android app (super stable, absolutely awesome, free download) that could likely fire out the android version for a piece...

Translation: "I don't personally see any value in it, but feel free to pay my dude to build one..."

I think that's kinda what I was saying only, Micon's got the foresight to buy the fuckin domain before responding. Lol.

bought the domain months ago, and I was thinking to partner with a coder and run / design the entire thing.  SwC is a very demanding right now so would need a separate team for a new project.

I see much value in it's creation, especially if you can make it work very clean and easy and on mobiles.

I cannot speak to our twitter or facebook, that will be left to the user to check the comment section of the NPR link on FB and stuff like that.

here is a 100 chip code that some1 with extremely fast fingers will get (remember this 1 is just .1 btc or 100 seals chips right to the brain - no freeroll, no finger fasting - just free chips.  Fire into "my account" area.  Ok it's likely gone now.

Confused?  good.  We like it that way.  Always keep 'em guessing.  Come fucks with us and you will learn more how to take advantage and scoop up all the little drops of equity that intentionally drip from every orifice of SwC.  Fire these codes, if someone didn't snap them up, after you click "register" under the tournament tab and find "Fastest Finger Freeroll" - I am going to spew even MOAR codes out via twitter / facebook / reddit / donkdown and then snap this sucker off in about 10 minutes.

this goes on all February in addition to all of our other promotions.

SwC is dead serious on providing an amazing android app, industry low rake, and then giving back some of that small rake in many crazy ways.

1296  Bitcoin / Press / Re: 2013-02-06 NPR - Is Online Gambling Legal With Bitcoins? on: February 07, 2013, 09:41:59 AM
What I find extremely annoying is this obsession by people about what is and isn't legal.

Well it is NPR.  They are pretty much the most sheepish, authority worshiping station on the radio.

Most of their audience are Obama voting looters and parasites.  They should change the callsign to KSLAV.

I like you.

I'll bet we would get along IRL.  Do you like IPA beers?
1297  Other / Meta / Petition to add more mods to Reddit r/bitcoin on: February 07, 2013, 01:32:07 AM
IMO many, many more mods need to be added to the r/bitcoin Reddit.  it is too important, and I realize the same power structure that exists on these boards also exists there.

Decentralize the bitcoin media - as much as we can IMO

IMO:

1)  r/bitcoin is extremely important.  It should have many top bitcoin community members as mods.

2)  Current Mods: theymos hugolp

3)  I believed there to be some /bitcoin manipulation on Reddit recently.  I was going to report it to the moderators, but frankly what's the point - I believe this forum administration to make very pro-Butterfly Labs moves in all areas, in all ways.  the recent splitting of the BFL thread and labeling it a "troll museum" when the founder is an indicted mail fraudster seems to be without any merit.

4) I know many in this community "don't want to make trouble" and "want everyone to get along" but as my new friend TJ the Juggler recently told me, "sometimes doing nothing is an action" which certainly applies to things like freedom of speech and the ability to be an outspoken critic without being silenced.

Let's start with the Reddit IMO.  add 5 or so moderators?  have voting?  bitcoin foundation members? Gavin to start? Bitinstant memebers, bitpay guys, coinbase guys, mtgox guys, get the big boy bitcoin businesses to each have a rep.  I do not want to be a moderator of the /bitcoin reddit and refuse to accept the position, as I have enough bitcoin-media channels that I already control and am likely too controversial to be generally accepted, so this is not a push to get me in there - this is wanting the reddit to be fair.

Thanks to Cyrus for the piece.

IMO at SwC we play a skillgame for bitcoin and do no banking.  We currently exist in the greyspace.

Bitcoin is a perfect solution for online poker.  I have the entrepreneurial spirit, and I will uproot my family & move to a different country if mine won't let me explore this new technology.  I won't, however, sit here scared of my country and do nothing instead of following my heart and helping to mold a site that drastically reduces online poker rake and offers a much-wanted solution to my fellow poker players around the world who are shut out because of what I consider completely unjust and laughably backwards laws in some jurisdictions.
