I bet that the Boston Marathon bomber isn't caught this week.

At least 1 Boston Marathon suspect is named AND apprehended by 4/19/2013 11:59 EST

I have "Yes"

"No" is available at Even money.   Available for the next 6 hours unless obvious news changes things.

I can post a hash publicly or PM it.
1082  Economy / Gambling / Re: Bryan Micon's "Bet Me Anything" thread on: April 16, 2013, 09:02:29 PM
I would like that Lakers bet as well.

My friend claims he will be home in a half hour, but he's kind of unreliable.  Hopefully I will be able to ship within the hour though.  You interested in more anti-Laker action?  (I want Lakers -150)

1)  Ooops,  both teams have 1 game left
2)  Lakers still up 1 game
3)  Utah must win, lakers must lose

New line Lakers -300

What odds and stakes are you offering for that ginger bet?  And how ginger does ginger have to be?

Degree of ginger would certainly come into question on this bet.  A community-poll would likely be needed to settle any disagreement.

IMO at this early stage I think Muslim v USA is very close to 50-50.

however calling a ginger is going to have to pay 10x or more what plain 'ole USA pays.

If you want to extend fantastic odds w/community poll in case of disagreement I'm always listening!
1083  Economy / Gambling / Re: Bryan Micon's "Bet Me Anything" thread on: April 16, 2013, 08:22:42 PM
Utah has the tie breaker, LA 1 game up, both teams have 2 games to play, LA without Kobe obv or they are a lock.

My bad, I had it the wrong way, but there's one game left for each team and like you said Lakers are ahead. If you want to make that bet at least you should get better odds.

Games left for each team:  2
Games LA is up on Utah: 1
Tiebreaker:  Utah

Dude, doesn't matter what you say, that bomber bet is creepy and you're mentally ill.

Well, maybe we have found a thread that just isn't for you.  Maybe don't use this one to add to your informative streak of 6000+ posts?  Maybe go back to threads that are more your speed, like promoting various scams.
1084  Economy / Gambling / Re: SealsWithClubs.eu | Largest Bitcoin Poker Site | No Banking | Fast Cashouts on: April 16, 2013, 08:02:48 PM
A few random SwC-facing updates:

Ender put in some damn fine work recently on SealsDeals.  tons of SwC users are staking each other for MTTs... including me!  I buy a lot of ppl that I find to be good MTT players, especially for the "BIG BTC" - I want to see ppl in action, I want to see the BIG BTC even bigger, and I like to try and sniff out equity from the teeming degen masses.

I have started to sell my WSOP for bitcoins on sealsdeals:  http://sealsdeals.info/?wsop  Note that you are basically selling BTC for USD when you stake me, then re-buying BTC for USD when I cash or refund an event.  Note I will not play all these events, as you make a Day2 often even if you suck.  And I don't.  IMO most players are waiting for BTC to rise again, then of course you can afford more Micon % for the same btc price, and not lock up BTC ~ 45 days before the first event.  I will be playing a full compliment either way & will refund those I cannot play.  I'm usually good for ~ 15ish events during the month & change that is the WSOP.  good luck all coming to Vegas!

On the SwC tourney tip, we have made some slight changes and tweaks to the tourney schedule, and it will likely continue to be changed over the next few months.   Turbo tourneys are now in initial roll-out phase.  Turbo+ and Smoothturbo MTTs to follow in the coming months.

Server side improvements continue.  Client development in full force.  MacOS & Linux clients also in 2013.  The nerds are all hashing at our known issues, and IMO work is going smoothly, although it is a mountain to climb.  But ST6 has their climbing gear on and icepicks in hand.

cannot say any more other than all will be revealed.

good day.
1085  Economy / Gambling / Re: Bryan Micon's "Bet Me Anything" thread on: April 16, 2013, 07:52:28 PM
Dude, don't take the Lakers bet. They are a huge favorite since they have the tie-breaker over Utah... New guy either doesn't know this or is trying to take advantage.

Utah has the tie breaker, LA 1 game up, both teams have 2 games to play, LA without Kobe obv or they are a lock.
1086  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: coinjedi / betsofbitco.in SCAMMERS: Declares "Push" on obvious win for BFL bet on: April 16, 2013, 07:48:45 PM
Hey Luke-Jr, still believe your own words?

I think they're sore losers who shouldn't be betting if they can't take responsibility for making sure the bet terms satisfy them.
They should be glad it was declared a draw rather than a win for the pre-April side.

after reading what most rational thinkers take from this situation:

This is pretty disgusting in my opinion.

Luke-JR used his standing within the community to boost BFL's status when it needed it most.

Fortunately most of us are smart enough to tell the difference between a rushed engineering sample and a shipped customer product.

In this case it's clear to me that Luke-JR receiving the first public BFL and his subsequent posting to be a calculated decision in an attempt to garner positive marketing around their unreleased product.

I can understand if they wanted to send him one for him to some technical work on the software/firmware to help them with their hashrate for example, but he should not have posted it up knowing full well that it's a pre-release item.

But BFL didn't ship anything! Luke-jr posted a picture taken by Josh at BFL factory. The device never left the factory.

I was not aware of that. If that is true, Luke-JR is basically a fucking scammer.

Does dg2010 sound like an angry bettor that can't take responsibility?   Reads coldly logical to me.  This is the simple summary most users will take away from this thread Luke.  You think the community worked to manipulate that?

coinjedi & Luke-jr - I highly doubt either of you will reverse yourselves on this matter, but that is the only way to bring closure.  I personally won't stop discouraging bettors from using Betsofbitco.in, linking them to this thread.  Luke-Jr you have showed your true colors on this matter, and I hope you were coerced or bribed or something to at least make sense of your actions.  If you did this for free, at Josh's bidding, well that's just a horrible decision.

Further more if BFL took advantage of some religious, impressionable coder-kiddie to manipulate a bet that's a new low even for them.
1087  Economy / Gambling / Re: Bryan Micon's "Bet Me Anything" thread on: April 16, 2013, 07:32:47 PM
I bet the lakers make the playoffs even without ( Kobe is gone for season ) pm me or reply I'f you wanna wager to take this bet as it is I'f very very even plus adding as did Utah winning tonight!!

Let me know ASAP as this is a time sensitive bet

Just did my amatuer analizing of NBA, and looked around the internet sportsbooks - pretty much no one has a line on this right now.

IMO the Lakers are the favorite, but not overwhelmingly so.

you can have LA at -150 if you'd like.  This means you can bet 1.5 coins vs. my 1 coin [mostly for newbs reading this thread that will want to bet in the future, I'm sure mastercoin knows was 1.5 is]

LA to make playoffs:
min bet: 0.5 coin
max bet: 6 coins
odds: -150

I realize it's time sensitive, looks like all NBA starts at 5pm Vegas time (4.5 hrs from now) so you can have until then to accept the bet.    Send between 0.5 and 6 coins to this hash to have action:

Degan Tongue

King of all degenerates, they said it on ESPN

I bet you can't stop gambling and betting.

no action

Betting on bombers? FFS...
Micon, I thought you were just a bit crazy, but after all you're completely insane.
And creepy as fuck.

and another quote from psy:

I have my bet made on Pirate. You, Vladimir, all you have is a big mouth.

[ read here --> https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=94900.580 if want to see psy defend the greatest btc ponzi schemer Pirateat40 over and over ]

Further more, I don't subscribe to "it's not proper to bet on ______"   because I think if 2 ppl want to bet on it why the fuck not?  sometimes humans like to bet on real life things, and sometimes that makes other humans uneasy.  Fine.  don't read, ignore, do whatcha gotta do.  Further more, I also don't subscribe to "It's not proper to make a joke about ______"  because no matter what it is, that shit can be funny.  It may even help you cope with it.

Here's what I want to bet:

The bomber(s) was muslim.

What odds will you give?  I am thinking EVEN odds.  We don't need to have a third party escrow.  I trust you and will ship to you to hold my money.

The major problem is that as of right now I have NO bitcoins.

My friend is a miner who doesn't want to sell any, but he is going to lend me some tonight.

I have a good reputation for paying bets from 2+2.  I was a bettor in the HSNL sportsbetting thread.  I think you know about the thread.  It pretty much died down after Pete F. fucked a bunch of people over.  I am "Post-Oak" on 2+2 and KGambler on SBR.  I also sell 5Dimes funds on 2+2, so I have references for that as well.

Let me know what odds you want and maybe we can work something out.

Totally want to bet the don't on muslim.

min bet: 0.5 coin
max bet: 5 coins
odds: even $

Let me know if you get coins.
1089  Economy / Gambling / Re: 80 BTC bet between Micon and mrb (are BFL ASICs real?) on: April 16, 2013, 07:04:27 PM
I'll think about that offer today and might take you up on it.

cool, you have a few more hrs to take me up on it.  Seems generous on my part, but do respect the degen
While not really surprising given the character quality of the bettors, it's refreshing to see you fellas behaving honorably. If only some of it would rub off on the company in question.

don't hold your breath IMO Smiley

Lol, I would never try to collect on something like that.  It's obvious that the intention is for a bet between CrazyBlane and Micon, and doesn't involve me at all.  But sure, it's probably better to get all ducks in a row.

Yeah, I was mostly just trying to be funny.  I think the intention is pretty clear.

I'm sure this won't be an issue, CrazyBlane seems reasonable.  I will state at this stage that I'm obviously betting that BFL won't ship by 7/1.  won't be an issue

Micon, I am willing to put up a bet on the same terms as SgtSpike's last bet, with 100 BTC each.

I have escrow code from Dooglus, I have generated the payment invitation for you and have generated a hash

1Dtf7TrZrQr7QooVGoKfd99rxHNoikQ3EH

please PM me an email Mrb (sorry if I already have it) and I'll send you the envi-code securely
1090  Economy / Gambling / Bryan Micon's "Bet Me Anything" thread on: April 16, 2013, 06:47:38 AM
Do you want to bet on something completely random?  Don't want to get rolled by Betsofbitco.in or can't understand the payout % of bitbet.us? Well just bet me directly and let's have dooglus escrow (gonna have to start giving him a small %) with the btc-address system.

The thing today I personally really wanted to bet on was that the Boston Marathon bomber will turn out to be an American, not a foreign plot or a classic brown-man bomber.  I want to bet that he's a ginger (at high odds)  I want to bet the parlay that he's a white male aged 15-45 from the east coast.

u see, there are so many random bets, some that have to be made fast.

Just post whatever you want to bet on.  I'll give you odds.  You don't have to take it, no problems, no worries, no love lost.  sometimes you don't make a bet.

any bet, big or small, as low as .5 coin bets.  I don't want to do anything lower than that, it has to be worth the action to settle on terms and escrow the wager.  I have a few hundred coins wagered right now on various BFL-things, so I'm rolled to bet as much as most ppl would want.  If someone wants to make an extremely large bet I have a lot of gambling friends I can call to see if they want to take part of it.

so, let's gamble on things!  just throw something out, I'll give you a line on it.  Sporting event, political event, current event, whatever.
1091  Economy / Gambling / Re: 80 BTC bet between Micon and mrb (are BFL ASICs real?) on: April 16, 2013, 06:39:56 AM
It is unbelievable to me the amount of fail that is going to go into not only mrb and I almost assuredly losing our original bets on BFL, but possibly also SgtSpike. Congrats Micon, while I won't officially concede at this point, I think it's pretty unlikely that we'll meet 350MH/J given that Josh has said expect 170MH/J. SgtSpike should be safe baring BFL catastrophe, but who knows at this point.

I expect at least a shoutout as a sponsor if you make the November Nine from my bet. Tongue

MrTeal I feel your pain as you have supported BFL for so long.

If you would like a small rebate, and I will ensure the bet won, send me your envi-code & a hash to micon@sealswithclubs.eu within the next 24 hours and I'll send you back 5 coins.

No worries if you do not want to do this and sweat the remaining 14 days.

Ok, dooglus works for me, let's do it.

Can you PM me your email address?  I don't want to put the escrow codes in a forum PM where others may be able to see them.  I have an address for Micon.  If you want me to GPG encrypt the code, send me your public key too, though that's up to you.

Also, am I correct that the terms for this bet are the same as SgtSpike just restated, in that BFL can deliver many devices which fail to meet the power requirements and Micon still loses so long as they ship enough which do meet the requirements by the deadline (and get pics posted, etc.)?  Basically just saying that Micon can't win before the deadline, no matter what junk BFL ships.

You got it my man.  Thanks very much for acting as our escrow.   No pgp needed for me, this should be very easy to settle, unlikely there will be debate with our carefully worded statement.

1097  Economy / Gambling / Re: 80 BTC bet between Micon and mrb (are BFL ASICs real?) on: April 14, 2013, 04:41:54 PM

The terminology included in this bet does not change the original 20 BTC bet in any way.  The original 20 BTC bet is only held to the terms specified at the time of the original bet.

BFL will ship out at least 3 ASIC mining devices capable of at least 150MH/s per watt to at least 3 customers (at least 1 device per customer) who post pix & verify hashrate by 12:01am EST 7/1.  No BFL-employee or anyone that has been to BFL labs personally to settle the 3 customers pix & hashrate.  If BFL ships a device that does not meet the power specification, but then does ship out at least 3 ASIC mining devices meeting the above criteria before the deadline, then SgtSpike wins the bet.

If you agree to my statement as outlined above, post here stating as much, and then we can both send in our 100 BTC to the original Bitcoin address, 1B3EAGAgXoALFd6o9762hitoCyH61JxF4Y

1099  Economy / Gambling / Re: 80 BTC bet between Micon and mrb (are BFL ASICs real?) on: April 13, 2013, 11:51:32 PM

Micon - I am willing to increase our bet up to an additional 100 BTC.  If you agree, we can both just pay the original bet address.

I'm in, just please agree to these restated the terms (as this is gonna be a ~ $10k bet when book, who knows what it will be worth when settled) :

SgtSpike bets 100 BTC that this statement is true:

BFL will ship out 3+ ASIC mining devices capable of at least 150MH/s per watt to at least 3+a customers who post pix & verify hashrate by 12:01am EST 7/1.  No BFL-employee or anyone that has been to BFL labs personally to settle the 3 customers pix & hashrate.

Micon bets this statement is false, also for 100 btc.

Unlike the betsofbitco.in fiasco, I don't believe there will be a problem between 2 gentleman bettors.  Result should be abundantly clear on the morning of 7/1

Just agree to this and we can both hit the hash.

Sure.  I would like to further clarify:

The terminology included in this bet does not change the original 20 BTC bet in any way.  The original 20 BTC bet is only held to the terms specified at the time of the original bet.

(My changes in bold):
BFL will ship out at least 3 ASIC mining devices capable of at least 150MH/s per watt to at least 3 customers (at least 1 device per customer) who post pix & verify hashrate by 12:01am EST 7/1.  No BFL-employee or anyone that has been to BFL labs personally to settle the 3 customers pix & hashrate.  If BFL ships out devices that do not meet the power requirement, this does not conclude the bet.  As long as BFL ships out at least 3 ASIC mining devices capable of at least 150MH/s per watt to at least 3 customers who post pix & verify hashrate by 12:01am EST, the statement is true, and the bet is won in SgtSpike's favor.

If you agree to my statement as outlined above, post here stating as much, and then we can both send in our 100 BTC to the original Bitcoin address, 1B3EAGAgXoALFd6o9762hitoCyH61JxF4Y

I think we are 1mm from having a bet here, I really don't like your sentence "If BFL ships out devices that do not meet the power requirement, this does not conclude the bet" I understand what you mean and I agree, i.e. if BFL ships a device that doesn't meet power specs but then does ship 3x+ that do meet our spec by our date then you would win.  I agree to that no problem.

Maybe I just ask you to reword it 1 more time and then I hit the hash?  I think we will have a 200 coin extra bet here by the end of the day.
Ok, final (hopefully) wording of the bet:
