1)  Beta client was version'd recently.  If you have not downloaded / installed the new one since 3/18, it's not going to work until you scoop the new one ---->  https://sealswithclubs.eu/beta-client

2)  total hijack / blanted ad for my 1 btc NCAA pool, currently at 2 entries:  https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=154589.0  [starts Thursday]

I hope we pick up another gambler or two, was really hoping for 10, now hoping for 5

it's still a fun sweat either way IMO.

i see you on yahoo, just updated wallet to .8.1 so waiting on that now to verify the coin

Awesome. I apparently linked the wrong transaction the first time though I pasted the right transaction hash. The coins are coming from an address other than the payment address.

Hopefully this expands beyond a one-on-one contest...

yes, hopefully.  Wallet updated, 1 btc rec'd, that was not the addy that it came from Smiley

so far 2 in this pool!

I'll bet we pick up moar before thursday

1)  I saw there was a site that hosts NCAA brackets, but I want to run something simple without any rake that you only will have to trust me with the prizepool for a few weeks.

2)  Simple Yahoo bracket, progressive scoring, 100% payout to the winner:  http://tournament.fantasysports.yahoo.com/t1/register/joinprivategroup_assign_team?GID=128858&P=bitcoin   [password is "bitcoin"]

3) 1 bitcoin to enter.   You can enter up to 5 brackets, 1 coin for each bracket entered.  Here is a hash:  1Cb2aoJjoYMLYYPLnLPyxXjTmJ9PxdLsoa   IMO name your Bracket entry with your bitcoin receiving hash. Whoever wins I will ship the coin along to that address.

4)  List of entries and who has or hasn't paid will be kept here.  Coin due by 8am ET march 21st.  I will remove all non-paying entries so that the bettors can sweat the action properly.

1186  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A successful DOUBLE SPEND US$10000 against OKPAY this morning. on: March 12, 2013, 08:05:47 PM
Excuse my non-technical, conceptual-only questions / thoughts / checking if I have this right in my head:

1)  There was no *permanent*  "double spend" right?   i.e. the transaction on the .8 fork would have eventually been orphaned / dumped / never credited to the address specified in the .8 block?

2)  The risk here (and reason why SwC shut off all deposits / withdraws for a few hrs until this was resolved) was that during this very odd period a sophisticated user could use multiple 0-conf services that would all at the same time believe they were getting the same coins, but after the blockchain becomes 1 again only 1 of the transactions would actually be included in the "real" blockchain?

also, if this ever happens again, I think we should use this pic:

and sorry if there has already been a 2 Chainz reference.

Standard Wednesday, gonna blow up a cult on DD radio and SealsWithClubs has a 5 bitcoin freeroll (this is getting REALLY expensive, even if it dumps 20% in a day)
1188  Economy / Gambling / Re: SealsWithClubs.eu | Largest Bitcoin Poker Site | No Banking | Fast Cashouts on: March 03, 2013, 04:26:17 PM
I can't login to the site, and I just did a DNS lookup and it said the site wasn't registered.

We are having a DNS issue.  It is known and Seal Team 6 is working on it.

1189  Economy / Gambling / Re: SealsWithClubs.eu | Largest Bitcoin Poker Site | No Banking | Fast Cashouts on: February 27, 2013, 06:52:53 PM
Also, quick question, is stealthmunk actually involved in SwC in any way or is the reference to him in sponsored pro's page an obvious troll?

Nope, he's a real pro.  See pix of him patched up at WSOP.  He has not been playing much SwC recently, but supports our site immensely.

I saw word of a PC client being tested on Twitter.  Anyway besides knowing Micon's phone number to get involved?

Nope, that's the only way ATM.  We expect pubilc beta to be very soon.  We need this initial private-beta layer to make sure we clean anything major.

i know, i know - every1 wants off flash - we are working hard for that end.
1190  Economy / Gambling / Re: Nevada opens pathway to legal Bitcoin gambling in the US on: February 26, 2013, 05:55:13 PM
Hi,

I have been following this story for years and years.

1)  There will very likely be a Nevada legal online poker product very soon from many of the top dogs here in Vegas.  Look for WSOP online, Bellagio online, and Southpoint seems aggressive to list them as one of the first to launch

2)  what the product will look like, no one knows.  It may be something very awesome, like $1 max rake and every state except the obvious ones participating:  Hawaii, Utah have a 0 gambling policy & Washington state's state legislature is bought and paid for by the Indian casinos around there that are terrified of online poker.  When it lauches it may look like something really bad, i.e. $5 max rake and only Nevada-based pros sitting on there all day.  We really don't know.

3)  Prolly won't be for bitcoin sites.  With a high fee (250k-500k) and the fact that you must conform to all Nevada Gaming laws it would mean a site like Satoshi Dice would somehow need to check an ID to make sure the bettor was over 21 and pay NV all it's profits until now (and do that every year - that's a yearly $250k or something to have an online poker licence in NV)  So really, it would be pointless to add the bitcoin layer to this model.

Clearly I'm a very interested party in this, and will be having on "Pokerati Dan" to explain this further from a legal perspective on DD radio tomorrow.

1191  Economy / Gambling / Re: 80 BTC bet between Micon and mrb (are BFL ASICs real?) on: February 26, 2013, 07:12:59 AM
I will no longer be replying to Josh's venomous posts.   Maybe the mods will do something, maybe they will let him troll this thread up.  I suggest the users report his continued posts if you want to see this thread back on track.  I mean look at the first 8 pages of this thread before he showed up!

And now, back to betting.

SysRun - are you still interested?  (I can understand if you are not)

Anyone else want to bet "True" to the following statement?

"Butterfly Labs will deliver 3+ working ASIC units that meet or beat 350 Mhash/joule by 4/1/2013"

I am willing to bet 10 coins on "false"

This thread is also going to be of value when these bets settle either way - this is, to my knowledge the first actual "field test" of C's btc-address escrow system.  Very cool software indeed, I want to generate more iterations of said test:)

1192  Economy / Gambling / Re: 80 BTC bet between Micon and mrb (are BFL ASICs real?) on: February 26, 2013, 05:39:30 AM
Micon... look at your topic you idiot:

"80 BTC bet between Micon and mrb (are BFL ASICs real?)"

This thread was NEVER about "BFL missed shipping dates."  One more example of your lying and scamming.  You're so stupid you don't even know what YOU wrote yourself.  If you want to get REALLY technical, you took this thread off topic when you started betting with someone else other than MRB, but that's pedantic.

YOU started this thread and in the very topic it says "Are BFL ASICs real?" at the very least implying that they are not real.  One would logically conclude that based on the thread you linked to, you think they are not real and therefore BFL is a scam.  So my posts on on topic.  Suck it up you lying scum bag.  You troll the BFL threads quite regularly with your offtopic bullshit and lies.  Now you are complaining that I'm somehow "trolling" your thread, which is about BFL and betting and I'm offering you a bet so that you can back up your lies.  You refuse the bet, but continue the lies, so ... I continue to offer the bet.  Stop lying and retract your bullshit and I will stop posting in your thread.

mrb started this thread.  he wrote the title.  you are not the hottest tamale in the box.

25 Feb 2013 Update

I know people have been waiting on an update for awhile. The simple fact of the matter is there hasn't been any solid updates to offer. I know people are desperate and starving for information and I wish I could provide new information every day, but some days there just isn't new information. Luckily there is some new information today. It's not the best information (such as we are shipping today!) but it is at least an update.

We had expected the bumping to be done by now, as per the previous update(s). That has not been completed yet. There are a number of reasons why this is the case, and we are not pleased with any of them. The bumping facility, which we have no direct contact with, did not complete the NRE on the timeline we had spoke to the packaging facility about. As I've written in previous posts, we are dealing with such an accelerated time scale that all of these facilities simply aren't used to dealing with. It's been a learning experience for both us and for the facilities we are using. The upside, such as it is, is that going forward, we will have all the large, time sucking hurdles already out of the way and the rest of the chips should breeze through without issue, as all the NRE, tooling, design, planning and machines will already be configured for what we need.

Since Friday we have been, in a word, agonizing over how to make up for lost time. Obviously, we can't make up for all the lost time, but what we have decided is to effectively burn (this is not a technical term, I simply mean we are using one of the wafers for testing instead of creating chips out of it) one of the initial six wafers for testing. This is definitely not something we wanted to do, as it will reduce our initial chip count from a potential 6000 to 5000 chips for the first set of wafers. We are doing this because it will buy us 7 - 12 days for the second set of wafers (and the remaining set of wafers down the road). The time frame between the 1st set of wafers and the 2nd set of wafers should be reduced to a matter of a few days.

Why are we burning the wafer, what advantage does that give us and how can that accelerate the timeline? As many of you already know, we have had the 2nd set of wafers holding with the last layers being unfinished until we confirm we have everything the way we want it on the first set of wafers. We've already started the process to continue laying down layers up until about the last 5 layers or so - by burning one of our precious wafers, we can send it to the ASIC engineers who can essentially wire bond it manually and test the chips, but the wafer will become useless for creating usable chips. By doing this, they will verify that everything is how it needs to be and we can give the foundry the go-ahead to finish the second set as well as the bulk of the chips immediately. The second set of wafers should be done and on their way to us by the time we get chips in house in KC, and the bulk wafers should be done shortly after that.

The test wafer is already on it's way to the ASIC labs and should arrive tomorrow. Presumably it will take a better part of the day to get everything situated and for the testing to begin, so I don't expect to hear anything until late Tuesday or sometime on Wednesday assuming everything goes well. In the meantime, the bumping facility will be bumping the remaining 5 wafers, which should be shipping out on Friday to the packaging house, whom we are paying extra to stay on for the weekend and start the packaging process. We expect at least some of the chips to be on their way to Chicago by Tuesday, where they will be mounted and sent out to our engineers and KC for testing and final MCU programming. At that point, once the MCU programming is confirmed we'll begin assembling the units. Right now, I'm planning on a week from Friday to be the day, but I'm just gonna say that's subject to change at the moment, although I don't anticipate a change right now.

The ASIC team has promised me pictures of the wafer tomorrow, Tuesday the 26th. As soon as I get those, I will be posting them. As soon as I hear something with regards to the chip testing, I will be posting that as well. If I'm not posting an update, it's because there's nothing new to report.

that, my friends, is just making shit up.
1194  Economy / Gambling / Re: 80 BTC bet between Micon and mrb (are BFL ASICs real?) on: February 26, 2013, 03:12:51 AM
Like I said Bryan, I'll leave the thread when you stop lying and leave the BFL threads.  Until such time, too bad, suck it up.

Bryan Micon claims BFL is a scam, and also claims he is a "professional gambler" but is unwilling or unable to provide any evidence that BFL is a scam and is unwilling to back up his claim with a bet of any sort.

My open offer for a bet:  BFL will ship the promised products within a reasonable time frame (as determined by a reputable member of this community, I propose Casascius). I offer BTC from 100 BTC to 2000 BTC.  I am also willing to accept the domain name joshzerlan.com in lieu of BTC on the part of Bryan Micon.

so even thought I refuse to bet you for any reason now, you are basically threatening a forum insurgency?  you just refuse to not troll this thread?

I have bets here.  I stand to win ~$5-$6k already with booked, escrowed bets.  This is a betting thread.

this is the "Micon claims BFL is a scam" thread:  https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=136392.0  It has 7,000+ views.  It's found in the "Scam Accusations" sub-forum.

This thread is for wagering on BFL missed shipping dates.

Please, users, PLEASE!  report Josh's posts.  They are clearly off topic in this betting thread.  There is a thread for what he wants to argue with me about, I linked it many times.  I want to turn this back to the betting thread it was for the first 8 pages, gentleman gamblers agreeing to terms and placing escrow'd bets.

B/C of Josh's latest threats, it appears I will need user reporting & mod support to make this happen.  Please help me guys.

I'll leave this thread when you leave all other BFL related threads and retract your statement.  How about that?

Until such time, I will be offering you the bet or letting others know you are a liar and a scammer.  Either way works for me.

Declined.  All bets and offers are off the table.  Please leave this thread.  https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=136392.0 that is the BFL / Josh Zerlan scammer thread. Users, please report Josh's posts from here on out.  Please.

well that's what this thread is about - a bet on when BFL will ship ASICs - and you continue to troll it up.

I am clearly here to wager.  I have 3 bets.  I stand to win $5k+ when BFL continues to miss dates.

If Josh wants to argue with me about weather or not the BFL scam is a scam, he must do so in the BFL scam investigation thread:  https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=136392.0

Contradict yourself much?  I'm clearly here to wager.  I'm not here to wager about your idiotic dates and caveats, I'm here to wager on your statement that BFL is a scam.  You are refusing the wager.  I told you I would accept your 20 BTC wager after you accept a wager with regards to your own words... but your only response is "Herp derp!  I won't wager on anything but shipping dates!  HERP!!!"

Yes Bryan, we know you are unwilling to back up your claim that BFL is a scam with any sort of wager.  We are painfully aware of it.  Now, if you don't want to wager against your words, then stop making the claim.  If you fail to stop making the claim, I will keep calling you on your bullshit, plain and simple.

Retract your statement that BFL is a scam and I'll gladly wager with you on your goofy shipping dates and caveats.

But here we are, with yet another series of posts by you and you STILL aren't willing to wager a $9 domain name against your claim that BFL is a scam.  It's obvious that you don't believe BFL is a scam at this point, so why don't you just admit it and we can move on?

Declined.  All bets and offers are off the table.  Please leave this thread.  https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=136392.0 that is the BFL / Josh Zerlan scammer thread. Users, please report Josh's posts from here on out.  Please.

1199  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Bryan Micon's Butterfly Labs Scammer Investigation including Josh Zerlan on: February 25, 2013, 09:42:15 PM
The confusing part is that BFL HAVE shipped FPGA product in the past, very successfully, so they've proven to be a legitimate outfit, as far as intent to deliver goes.

If you had asked me in December which companies I'd pin as the more likely scams, I would've said Avalon and ASICminer, and ironically, they're the first and currently only ones with proven ASICs, while BFL, last generation's leader, is stumbling around in the dark. 4 months of delays, while still pushing their ads? If not for their FPGA success, I'd definitely mark their ASICs a scam.

well then I suggest digging into the FPGA orders that customers rec'd.  My preliminary research is that BFL basically bought the units in bulk and re-sold in smaller quantities, branded as BFL prodcuts.  They don't seem to work very well either:

https://forums.butterflylabs.com/fpga-single-minirig-support/

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=60586.0

and when it comes to orders of magnitude, the FPGA run would be a drop in the bucket compared to the no-limit pre-order taking that has been happening the past 8 months or so.
1200  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Latest update on BFL shipping 21/02/13 on: February 25, 2013, 08:25:18 PM
to find the actual latest updates on BFL ASIC status, you must dig:

IMO this is part of the "let the mark down easy" stage, where there will be many delays and very weak excuses.
