2103  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: DONT SELL YOUR DOGE!!!!! on: February 11, 2014, 05:14:40 PM
Dogecoin was designed by me to financially bankrupt all the people in the world who think MEMES the bumper stickers of the internet are cute and really funny. It was my way to weed out the chaff.

Keep holding and keeping buying you clever guys!

I would vote for the above logos, they are simple, recognizable and are just nice looking. They give me a twinge of sports clothing like Fila but I still think they are best so far.

Is there any expected schedule for NEX?
2106  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Worried about Mt Gox? What does this price fall mean for BTC and its clones? on: February 10, 2014, 03:57:20 PM
Centralized exchanges have long governed Bitcoin transactions. From the plights of Bitinstant to the regulatory, technical demise of Mt. Gox to the wipeouts of centralized wallets by hacking, we have witnessed costly screwups by centralized players. Subject to regulation and easily targeted by world governments and hackers alike, centralized exchanges have no place in the new economy. Tragically, the Bitcoin community has trashed the very savior of Bitcoin transactions from the start: Ripple. Ripple offers a means to conduct transactions instantly with little to no fees in a decentralized manner. This means no longer do we have to wait for confirmations or trust exchanges to be technically capable or safe from a regulatory standpoint - no longer do we have to rely on centralized merchanting solutions. We can bypass confirmation times and reduce fraud to zero by conducting merchanting on the Ripple protocol.

Why hasn't the Bitcoin community caught on? Now is the perfect time - when Mt. Gox withdraws finally come through send that Bitcoin to the Ripple protocol and enjoy freedom once more!

Instead of disregarding Ripple because some Bitcoiner has told you that it is centralized (lie), Ripple isn't open-source (lie) or Ripple is premined (this isn't bitcoin, there is no wasteful mining - lie), think for yourself for once. Remember this. Ripple is competing with BitPay, NOT Bitcoin.

If you do not understand Ripple, I suggest Peercover.com - incredibly user friendly!

I've tried my hardest to like Ripple, used it for 6 months. I have no issue with the distribution. The issue is the way it works. ITS A ROYAL PAIN IN THE ASS. I still ahve coins in my wallet that I can't work out how to sell cause I have to set up a gateway with a specific trader. ITS AWFUL it drove me to tears. Since using Bitcoin its been a breeze, never had an issue with transactions. I don't care what anyine says about Ripple its not easy and quick, its a pain and slow in the end to do anything. Maybe somone will build a financial service on top of it until then I say to people stay away from that crap.

Now we do need a decentralized instant system so I'm sure you will be the first to welcome the new decentralised exchange coming to NXT very soon?

My Windows maxcoin-cpuminer compile instructions:

http://www.reddit.com/r/maxcoinproject/comments/1x6zgb/instructions_for_compiling_maxcoincpuminer_on/

It's not in chinese Tongue. If anything is unclear let me know and I'll update it. Just follow the steps, it's easymode.

You lost me at 'Open a cygwin terminal'  whats wrong with you people?

7. Open a cygwin terminal either by going to Start menu -> Cygwin -> Cygwin 64
terminal, or runing C:\Cygwin64\cygwin.bat. All future commands are done from
this terminal.

That's pretty clear and even tells you two ways to do it.

oooooh look fuck off!

Show this to your parents and ask if they can set it up, go on...

If this coins works and becomes the global world currency expect a lot of rich teenage nerds to run the world from their parents basement.

2114  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [NEM] NEM -New Economy Movement - No Envy Movement - Updates+Discussion thread on: February 06, 2014, 08:43:15 AM
Looks good, but I think scales have a connotation of LAW. I see the idea but you don't want to be too in your face. Later if NEM becomes really popular you don't want to ruin its growth by it looking like a communist manifesto, have the idea hidden in a simple nice looking design. e.g The red Cross was actually a Christian organisation but if they made the cross instantly recognizable as a Crucifix i'm sure certain people would avoid it.

Images have baggage, scales make people think Legal, Government and other idea you might not want in the minds of future users. If you can be more subtle about a scales image it could work.
2115  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [NEM] NEM -New Economy Movement - No Envy Movement - Updates+Discussion thread on: February 06, 2014, 08:26:12 AM
I'm not a designer/artist but I think I have a good eye for design. These need to be played around with and colours changed etc but i want to suggest a different direction for the logo. Like Bitcoin you need a strong simple logo, instantly recognizable. Highly detailed designed coins are not what you want. So I would ask for the designers here to play around with these ideas. You dont need to get NEM into the coin, I think the big thing is fairness and equality so I thought the = communicates this but not too much that you seem like your a communist. Wink

What do you think?

2116  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: [NEM] ---NEM stake complaint, questions etc.--- on: February 06, 2014, 05:54:28 AM
I sent 40 nxt and posted relevant information in page 42 of the first thread (link: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=422129.msg4686582#msg4686582)

but when i looked at the stakeholder list i saw that my name didn't have a Y behind it.

link to blockchain explorer: http://87.230.14.1/nxt/nxt.cgi?action=2000&tra=3909252813797837342

what should i do to confirm that it is my account?

Thread 1 is under an audition. Will fix most of things in a couple of days. Thanks.

My friend you need to stop using the word audition. The meaning of  audition is to do a performance to impress others, judges etc.

You mean to do an Audit. He is Auditing the list etc...

Can a I suggest you get this coin on one of the smaller exchanges from the first day. There is a trend recently for coins to almost instantly get on exchanges for those of us who don't mine. I can't name them but there are a lot now that will take your coin from almost day one....
2119  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [NXT] I'm skeptic about the value of a NXT coin. on: February 05, 2014, 10:34:17 AM
Three answers of no value... probably my question is not clear. I know how a price is formed.  What I do not understand is the logic behind NXT pricing: why a seller considers 1 NXT overvalued and why a buyer considers it undervalued. From my point of view it seems NXT is backed by nothing (worst than fiats), hence the market will soon reach a consensus about its "real" value: something close to zero X (where X is your preferred currency).

Your post makes no sense

How are you judging value? Some people in the media suggest Bitcoin has no value but what they don't understand is that the bitcoin system has great value as a transportation and store of value. The internet simply carries 1's and 0's but no one would suggest the value of the internet is small.

NXT has real value because it improves greatly on the payment system of Bitcoin. Just to name a few it will have messaging which will be anonymous, snapchat was worth a few billion and that just one feature. There will be trading inside the wallet so no need to round trip to an exchange, making exchanges almost obsolete. there are a load more features planned for it. So suggesting it has not value when it 'potentially' could be the global mover of wealth around the world is a touch silly. It might not get there of course but that where speculation and hope of future growth comes in. Last time I checked twitter made zero money but the potential to monetise is massive hence the share price and everyone wants to buy it on that future hope.

So IF NXT became and I know it's a big IF the main future of money globally then you could argue at this point it could go up 1000000% or much much more. I mean it would be worth most of the money in the world.....and I'm pretty sure Dogecoin is not going to get there, so really the question is what will be the most used cryptocurrency or collection of them cause that is ultimately what we are all betting on here...

By the way it's very possible your just trying to jawbone the price down! but I'll take your question at face value.

What kind of wallets would be used for distribution. I hate the NXT ones at the moment. Maybe we can use on of the wallets being developed for NXT that don't get chosen? Bounty?
