1921  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Qora | IPO | Escrow | 100% POS | New Source | Beta Available on: April 28, 2014, 03:02:23 AM
I do I think know why developers release the source code, but I at the same time I still don't know why developers HAVE to release the code.

Why not release the code much later than the planned 1-3 months. If easy to clone we will have the same situation with NXT being overtaken by clones but it will be much worse. Why not wait a year or 6 months at least. Personally I would be happy if they never did.

One massive benefit to not releasing code for Crypto would we wouldn't have all these shitcoins. Imagine we only had Bitcoin, And NXT. It would be a far simpler world. Couldn't a few independent people check the code over for issues without releasing the source code?
1922  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Qora | IPO | Escrow | 100% POS | New Source | Beta Available on: April 26, 2014, 03:41:24 PM
what are the development and testing updates?

Well in terms of testing there is already a bare bones test client you can download and play with. I believe the distribution of coins and launch of project will be within 1 month, mid May basically but the Developer hasn't set it in stone.

Most of the features mentioned in the first post will be implemented then but not colored coins and arbitrary transactions, messaging etc. which are hoped to be done within a month or so. That's my current understanding.

When you compare it with similar systems like NXT its a VERY quick IMO.

@nextgencoin
You are such an idiot. You have made your point little kid now grow up. You sound like a toddler who has not had his nap time yet. Seriously you have made your point no need to respond to every single comment, about being a scammer. The only thing wrong with this forum is whiny little brats like you that cant let others be. Grow up and move on with your life. The more you cry like a little bitch the more obvious you are that your just a crybaby.

hahaha yeah I am gonna cry, I'm gonna cry out this is a scam until they give up. If I don't my point will easily be buried in a long thread. So yeah I'll be continuing to sabotage this stealing of people's money. Why do you want to watch me....go away now to your black coin pump.

And I'm not replying to every post I'm replying to ever likely sockpuppet that is part of this scam.
Dude all you do is go around attacking people, like I saw you attack BCX on another thread. The OP in this thread should've used his brains and made the topic self-moderated so that guys like you don't post here.

I'm guessing you're Numus then, voicing your regret at not having a self moderated thread cause you are on another thread saying Numus is the best coin to invest in 2014....heheheheh

Silly bastard why do i bother replying to you idiots?

I like the look of some of these Logos, and I know you are just having fun. But I was thinking a more dirty White/Silver/black/grey  Starwars/Oblivion type looking coin. Kind of like a Millennium Falcon turned into a coin.

I think you need to stay away from too much neon look because One EXO coin has that look and also neon in the end if not done perfectly just looks kind of like bad 90's text. I personally think EXO coin logo is horrible.

EXO doesn't have any style. Nobody more or less good at graphic design looked into it yet.

I specialize in visualisation and retouching, so unfortunately I can't do complicated modelling, just basic forms. Also creating ideas is out of my field of expertise also. Those battleships were created by really talanted men, I don't think I can realize such idea.

I thought I might be asking a lot. I'm an amateur filmaker of sorts and I know when someone asks for you to do something they tend not to know the effort that goes into even something simple.

I like the above coin you did in blue/purple how about trying shiny silver metal on the Q and having a cream/white outer ring and maybe a black ring around it or variations of the mix.  I think if you adapt the coin above with these colors I think this would get 70% the way of what I'm saying. Kind of starwars stomtropper look. I was driving today behind this color car today and thought this is also the kind of style and colors that might look great with the name Qora that I'm talking about. Would you experiment with it, could be great. And I think this style would look great with the type you first did in black here. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=522102.640

I hate to quote myself but I really think the ideas which I mentioned before would be simple to test are worth having a look at for the coin logo. I totally can see Qora having a Modern white/cream clean website with the kind of coin design I mentioned before. The word shouts serene, white modern, futuristic to me.

Who knows you can even have robots in it... Smiley

1925  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why Nxt is the future? on: April 25, 2014, 12:00:10 PM
What NXT is going to become, (if things go as planned) ir the 'One Ring' of crypto:
NXT will rule them all.

With AE and gateways in place, all other cryptos can be traded from within the NXT system.......no more need for exchanges, no more MtGox, CryptoRush, etc. situations.
Trustless, decentralised trading will make centralised exchanges obselete in the medium to long term.
Couple this with the ability to issue assets over the AE:  people will able to create pretty much any kind of virtual asset from within NXT.
Why go to the trouble of creating, for example, a new coin from the ground up, when you can issue anything you can imagine on top of the NXT blockchain?

But surely NXT has no no more power to be the 'one' than even one of its clones. If everyone gets on board with NEM then why would people need to go to NXT? Plus people might chose different platforms to do the same things. Some NXT, Some NEM, some NXTL. Many might use a few of them.
1926  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] IPO of MaidSafe:  Entering the Future of the Decentralized Internet on: April 25, 2014, 11:27:30 AM
As I'm late to the IPO, how can I still get involved?

Will safecoins be sold on an exchange?
1927  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum, MaidSafe, NXT, anything else worth investing in, in 2014? on: April 25, 2014, 11:03:00 AM
Qora and EXO coins are both new codes that have finished IPO's but will likely rocket in the first weeks and months of trading.

Clones of NXT principally NEM and NXTL will do well, NEM could be massive!

Anonymity is the buzzword of this year, Zerocoin and Darkcoin will lead the pack in this area I believe.
1928  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why Nxt is the future? on: April 25, 2014, 10:46:49 AM
I think the bigger question is not that NXT is the future but the major things NXT innovated and first brought to the Crypto world are the future. ie Decentralized  trading (MtGox taught us all why that is important), plus ability to trade other things including commodities and fiat, This goes along with privacy but I think Darkcoin is doing more for that than NXT, mining in a green way, ability to send other forms of information along the network etc.

So I think the issue is not about NXT but who brings these things to market first in a way that encourages mass adoption. Why? Because just like banks that actually lose money to get young kids saving at banks with giveaways etc cause they know once they get the average person hooked into a system they tend to stick with it just out of apathy and feelings of familiarity. So NXT might not be the one that everyone ends up using, there are clones that have the same functions like NEM, NXTL, there are new codes with similar functions like EXO and Qora. And there is bound to be more in the future that try to make the best system that brings together all the things people want in a decentralized system.

And so once a person gets comfortable inside a wallet doing all they need to do then I think the race is over. New coins or new systems will simply have to integrate with that main system. While Bitcoin is great I believe it will just be one of hundreds of currencies that will trade within a future system. What we are in is akin to the Microsoft Apple battle of dominance for PC or Android and OS for mobile. In fact Apple or Android are just as likely to be the winners in crypto if you can see a bigger picture cause they have the leverage to buy up innovation and put an Apple/Android logo on it. Though I guess thats gonna be pretty hard with decentralization but I expect big players to want the innovation of NXT without the decentralized bit, Ripple anyone?
1929  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Qora | IPO | Escrow | 100% POS | New Source | Beta Available on: April 24, 2014, 03:58:00 PM
One question I have for Qora is If Qora is a completely new code will it be hard to get on exchanges?

Thank you, I was getting tired or arguing with people on here who were defending the developer even after proving its a scam. I'm gonna copy and paste what you wrote until this developer goes away. Unfortunately they will just start another scam i'm sure.
1933  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Qora | IPO | Escrow | 100% POS | New Source | Beta Available on: April 23, 2014, 05:34:34 AM
Its funny but when I saw you say Qora sounds futuristic I was gonna suggest 'Tron' ing it up a bit. Not sure if it works as a logo though, 3D is rare in logos generally. I like the first better than the second...

I wonder if you could take the future element further using images and ideas from movies like 2001 and more recently Oblivion etc...

I kind of HAL from 2001 of coins. Wink

I was just thinking today as I read the NXT, NXTL, NEM, NEX, NAS threads what we really need is another NXT clone with better distribution.

Shut the hell up and your fake IPO BTC grab.
1935  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Read Before Investing funds in IPO's on: April 22, 2014, 04:52:59 PM

Anon1 when i was buying into Qora. Is it not standard procedure?

No he just wanted you to sign a message from your bitcoin address and it's only possible if you have private key. (In other words, If you don't have private key you don't own that bitcoin address)

Ah ok, cheers for clearing it up.

One last thing. I did actually read through the multi bit info before I sent some BTC, I signed my payment (or thought I did) But no name  turned up on the blockchain above my transaction address, should it of? That's why I kind of assumed I didn't do it properly.
1936  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Read Before Investing funds in IPO's on: April 22, 2014, 03:13:41 PM
can you explain how to sign a message on a wallet like Multi bit, if you know. Also how to get private keys?

I recently felt forced into sending BTC direct to IPO cause I'm a noob who doesn't know how to do this.

https://multibit.org/en/help/v0.5/help_signAndVerifyMessage.html

Yeah I was hoping for a more laymans terms visual understanding especially of private keys which are requested by Escrow services.

I can click on inport private keys and it creates some kind of file, which it seems you can make many of, but how the hell these then get used to unlock an account or how you send them to an escrow is beyond me.

Umm well which escrow ask you to give private keys?
If someone have access to your private key he have access to your bitcoins which are on that address.

Ps: You need to open that file in notepad.
Check this.. https://multibit.org/en/help/v0.5/help_exportingPrivateKeys.html

And where are you processing your bitcoin? tablet, keyboard, smart phone?

Imagine loads of people rubbed their sweaty hands on a glass window and then you licked it.

I don't think i've heard the term IPO being used correctly once in this forum.

in the 'real world' a private company seeking to go public attracts investors with strong fundamentals:  cash flow, business model, paperwork of incorporation.  IPOs are for already functional, profitable companies.  Initial Public Offerings are guaranteed by underwriters, who have combed through their paperwork with a bullshit detector.  Anybody seeking to invest in any IPO ask basic questions like:  "who is underwriting the IPO?  what country is the IPO based in?"  "what type of entity is this business?" "are they profitable, and for how long?"

Another red flag are if the 'IPO' is for an Limited Liability Corporation:  LLC are based on state laws, and most USA state laws make it impossible to do an IPO of an LLC.  even if an LLC were to have IPO in an IPO friendly state (e.g. delaware) no underwriter would touch an LLC with a 10 metre cattle prod.

If an underwriter cannot guarantee an IPO, then everyone stay the fuck away.

Underwriter? Are you aware of where you are? Behave yourself and go back to your University law books. This isn't the place to try to impress with 'real world' financial jargon cut and pasted from your Uni textbook.
