1141  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTB][CA/QC]S3 Controller+Blades, S5 blades, working or not + 18pins long cables on: October 17, 2015, 08:10:18 PM
Willing to buy;

Working S3 Controller + 2x Working S3 Blades including all connection cables. Basically a S3 without the heatsinks + husk/frame. = 0.2BTC Shipped per working set
(Willing to buy the whole thing if it does not make a big difference on shipping, in the case where you would rather not disassemble)

Working S5 Blade + Support bracket (black metal thing you bolt controller and heatsink into) = 0.4BTC Shipped

May also be interested in picking up dead S5 blade in acceptable condition. 10$/per.

Also interested in picking up 18 but also 16 pins long cables for S5's.

How many 16 pin S5 cables you need ?  I have a few for sale.
I sell S3 controller for 0.15 BTC with 2 x S3 cables.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=858962.0

If you want S5 working blade,  then 16 pin or 18 pin version?

Do you know, that Bitmain paid 15$/per dead blade , If you bought from them new S5 blade and sent them old blade.

Do you know, how much Bitmain asks from one  new S5 chip?

If you want to know , how mach is worth S5 "dead" blade, please read this topic

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1203190.0

I see the value is 50$ per blade, minus postage costs to US  Smiley

1143  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: S7 controller has nine 18- pin jacks So what can we do with it? on: October 17, 2015, 04:24:37 PM
Question: one miner=three connectors? Could you connect a total of three S7 to one controller? Or only two?
I also see that Phil used one short connector from the second S7, so only 2 long ones needed, right?
Therefore to hookup three machines you need four, not six long ones-am I right or not?
Thanks.

Yes. It is possible. But this miner together with 3 cubes with one controller is slower, as three separate s7.

1146  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain "warranty" on: October 13, 2015, 08:48:31 PM

Still nothing useful as to proving a board was "burnt with flame and smoke". If you're saying its due to the smell then its probably from someone unglueing heatsinks off a dead board with a torch. If you're saying that the dark ones are a different color because they've been in a fire, that's even more ridiculous - its nickel plating.

The dark one are different color , because they are not cleaned and sooty.

New and better pictures with macro  shot will come, if I get a few more S5+ blades  back from  China.
5pc have not been shipped yet.  Expect new surprises, and the  miracles of Bitmain Repair Service.

1147  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: weight antminer s5 for Shipping on: October 13, 2015, 05:09:14 PM
bitmain it says on the website that the weight is 4.5 kg  S7 someone who can please check if the weight is correct?

8,8 Kg  for two according from DHL  shipping  papers .
The previous two were 8,6 kg.

1148  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain "warranty" on: October 13, 2015, 04:51:49 PM
Zendesk is not for EU buyers. I received today from China S5+ NEW fan and repaired S5+ blade. 5 blade from my 2x S5+ are still in China.

Dark and smoky radiators are not from my miner. Perhaps from some of the S7 . But they are definitely from some bad burned miner. Burned with flame and smoke.

The picture you've provided shows absolutely no evidence of "burned with flame and smoke". Did you upload the right one?

dogie- Go back to your kennel and  bark there.

Images can not transmit the smell of burnt, that came unscrewing the bubble wrap.

Did you know that the weight of S5 already packed weighs 3.2 KG? bitmain and declares that the weight is 4.2 kg? let's see who still has the courage to say that bitmain is honest?
you know that means 1 KG more in shipping it?

It depends on radiator,  what they are using.

2200 g with straight blade   versus 1540 g  with curved blade.
1150  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain "warranty" on: October 12, 2015, 10:45:01 PM

They were moving support to https://bitmain.zendesk.com/hc/en-us with tickets.  Not sure how far they made it on it.  I kinda feel they get so many emails they never fully made the trasition.  I would agree if they had a more concrete help desk type system it would be much better.

I am not a fan of their recent moves on compensation.   But we gave them the trust to do it.  There was no solid TOS or anything that protected us.  We kinda went in blind and suspected if anything was truly late they would fix it..... so it gave them full power on it.  They choose a pretty crappy compensation no doubt.  But there is not much we can do.

I mean it's already midday Monday in China.  If bitmain wanted to come out and say "Were sorry heres some coupons" or anything they could have.    I hate it but I feel no amount of these threads or posts will change their mind.

1151  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER C1 Discussion and Support Thread on: October 12, 2015, 10:31:02 PM
Agreed to new water cooled miner, I use C1 for heating during winter. I did last winter without any additional heat source and it was perfect. Just give us S7 with few waterblocks on it, we will take care of the rest Smiley

It will take someone to mod most likely.  I just don't see another C series for the many reasons I have posted earlier.

You can look at their partner syscooling on C1, and S5 mod.  They have not logged in for months.   So that does not sound very promising.

Apparently, this  forum was for them too stressful.

I still have 3 x C1 working pump for 8 (Two of them were replacements pumps)
that working  with S5 and C1 cooling radiators .

But Syscooling answer e-mails and still sells an their website.
A few days ago, I bought a third cooling kit for 2x S5

1152  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTB] S5 / S5+ PCB For Water Cooling Project Ship to Canada on: October 12, 2015, 02:35:56 PM
S5+ board do fit on S5 waterblock ? Right ?

I appreciate your offer, but a bit too high for my pockets.
I purchased a S5 for 1.35BTC shipped a month ago.
For 3 BTC I can get 2 units with 4 heatsink, 2 controller, 2 case and 2 fans. shipped and still have some change Smiley

VAT do kill prices on international trade  Undecided

Question :

I want to replace the DAMN noisy fan.
I expected a big drop in noise but at 3200RPM, it is still annoying.
I could trick the temp sensor to lower fan speed but I don't want to go that route.
I run at 46 Degrees C., fan speed could be much lower.
How can I set my RPM fan to run lower in controller ?
I can build a external temp control circuit but I feel lazy and want easy solution.

Suggestions ?

Use this  https://www.bitmaintech.com/support.htm?pid=00720150101032800325X8cMcY2y068F

The latest software is with fan control  - Customize the fan speed percentage

I use S3 fan 34%  and 1800 rpm for my water cooled S5  miners

Of course, S5+ blade do not fit easily with C1/S3  waterblock . However, it is possible.  Mine is still with warranty, so I will not try it.

1.35 BTC is not normal "Canadians price"  for S5 .

I can sell you 2 x S5 blade + controller + 2 long cable for 1.5 BTC + 25 euro for shipping.

There is no need to send 2 heavy heatsink.
1153  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTB] S5 / S5+ PCB For Water Cooling Project Ship to Canada on: October 12, 2015, 10:30:53 AM
I can sell  S5+ boards with long cable.
S5+  blade + 31cm long data cable = 1 btc + shipping costs from estonia.

Shipping cost

1154  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain "warranty" on: October 10, 2015, 08:08:35 PM
Someone mentioned they void your warrantly on the S7 if you don't plug cables into all 3 jacks, which is funny because it's a 1200W machine that "requires" 10 cables to run but their 1600W PSU on gives you 8 (and that 18AWG). Double standard much?

About a year, year and a half ago Bitmain was taking enough flak from everyone that they actively worked on improving customer service and warranty fulfillment. It looks a lot like they either stopped caring or decided it wasn't a worthy investment.

Bitmain APW3-12-1600-B2  PSU is with 12x PCI-E cables.
Old version Antminer S4 built-in 1400W PSU was with 9 PCI-E cables.

1156  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: The quest for the Antminer S5 Ribbon Data cable. on: October 08, 2015, 11:11:48 AM
Since this thread is already here, I might as well use it. Today I resurrected a dead S5 board but it's the early version with 16-pin cable so I had to borrow a controller to test it. All the controllers I have running around use the 18-pin. I have the 18-pin signal pinout already figured out but I haven't done anything with a 16-pin before today. Anyone know offhand what difference there is between the two?

I repeat my earlier post. Maybe this will help.

I share  again one finding .

You can use new S5 Hash PCB  ( 18 pin connector)   with S5 Control PCB  (16 pin connectors) Need only a 16 pin cable.
Picture of my water cooling S5 project    3 x old blade + 1x new 18 pin blade.

Do you have a less primitive mean to try to repair it than an oven? It was the only suggestion made to revive a board that i have no real use of unless it can work. If i can't revive i'll probably ship it to sidehack and thats that.

Doing this does not seem like it could damage the chips, so anything goes.

I'm very interested in any other suggestion pertaining to this.

All the other options require expensive equipment and a lot of time.  My friend has equipment for repairing,
but he does not have time for this.

The question is why the previous owner  took it off for the first time?
Why does he use the wrong screws without springs ? With the greater pressure on the blade  and ships with wrong screws,  he got it to work or not?  Did he get the blade to work 100% ?
1158  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S5: 1155GH(+OverClock Potential), In Stock $0.319/GH & 0.51W/GH on: October 07, 2015, 10:01:39 PM

Yes. Yes. The holes don't look self drilled, they all have the factory groove in it. I didn't pay for this blade, i only paid for the rest of the miner, so i don't see how i have been scammed.

Always finds something new. For the first time I see double holes in the S5. But they are probably factory made.

If you got a free blade, then why try to fix it so primitive means such as an oven ?

Okay so heres a picture of the board, this thing has way too many screws;
https://i.imgur.com/v2poeaL.jpg?1

1)Should this side be up or down? I wouldn't want stuff falling off if it become lose when the solder is melted! xD

2)Also this is kind of smudgey, could this cause any issues?;

And for the record, here is a picture of the previous pasting job;

https://i.imgur.com/yJiHMZ7.jpg?1

Time to start cleaning.

Did you get that miner  used ? Too many screws . Wrong black screws and self-drilled holes in blade.
You have been scammed by seller this miner.

You do not recommend using S5+ blades with S5 controller with S5 software or S5+ software? One second you say S5 software is bad and the next you say S5+ software is bad.

Are they both bad?

The post you sent me, he says they run at 2.2th. If they ran at 2.7TH it would possibly be worth it. Since i used 2.2TH for the math. While i did 2.6TH for 2*S5 for 2.2BTC~ That is the price i been picking up parts at, around 1BTC for a whole s5. Or 250$~

And i am in Québec, but the tax isin't applicable if the seller pick value = 1$ for electronic parts. Regardless the seller does not wish to ship outside the US. So i need to find something else.

6 blades average after 3 day  5,114.68  freg 325
at 350 it is more  Grin

And yes, both software with S5 controller may be bad with S5+. I have 3 overheated S5+ blades in China. I still do not know what happened, since the second power supply switched off from over heating and rescued four blades.

But I've seen it before with water cooled S5 at temp 130 krad Celsius.  I was hoping that this error is corrected by S5+ software.
