My guess is 30 day wait for batch 2.

 So say late OCT  21-25.

I think that, no later than after one week,  the S7 is again on sale.
1223  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S7 is available at bitmaintech.com with 4.86TH/s, 0.25J/GH on: September 21, 2015, 01:59:30 PM
I bought on the first day, but probably later that day-no shipment info yet (unshipped in the account).

My order date: 2015-08-30 14:08:29 (From Bitmain order details) Not shipped yet. Wanna compare? ^^

Edit: I ordered 4x PSU's in the same order as my S7, so the order is marked as "shipped" on the website (cause they sent the PSU's). I'm worried they are gonna forget to ship my S7's! Tongue

Have you gotten shipment info yet? I ordered 6 on the first day, but I paid with bankwire, hopefully they wont punish me for that! lol! Not sent here yet! Tongue

They punish you  for the use of  real money for the payment.

I ordered 4 x S7 on the first day.
2 x S7 paid with BTC are shipped.
Two miners, which had  been paid for USD , are not shipped.
1224  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Antminer S5 not Hashing on: September 20, 2015, 07:35:21 PM
I swapped blade 1 and 2 so that blade 1 would be the one showing the temperature reading.  Still not working

I disconnected the "now" blade 2 and will not hash with only blade 1 but everything else looks ok.

I tried disconnecting blade 1 but learned it will not even start up without blade 1....  Not surprised.

I switched controller boards again but same result.

I will try to flash with latest firmware and see if that makes a difference.

If not, I guess I will try swapping out piece by piece until the entire unit is different.  Fun project to take up a Sunday.

Update:  Flashing firmware did not make any difference.

I offer you for 2 blades together 100USD + shipping costs US or EU. (depending on your location)
No need for radiators and cables, only the screws with springs and 2 x blades.
1225  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: So who drops out at the halving? on: September 20, 2015, 12:32:55 PM
Demand and supply are not always balanced.

A small example for Hashnest S5 market.

Shop  Price: 367.0 USD(1.58579611฿)  Stock: 627

Market Price :   1xS5=1 BTC

After the big panic selling  S5 price with every day only  go down.
The reason is not only panic.
S5 is still very profitable  in Hashnest. Depending on the day Maintenance from total payout  is 52-55%

But the S5 price only drops.  Because supply is greater than demand. The same can also happen very easily with BTC.
1226  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: BTC mining profitability on: September 20, 2015, 11:07:23 AM
Looking to invest in BTC mining,

got 5MWh coming from solar energy
what is the maximum electricity price that could be used from such a plant for generating bit coins in profitable way.
my cost for electricity cost is at 100euro/MWh.
Is that price acceptable?

Looking forward for feedback.

Many thanks!

No, It is not acceptable for profit.

Do not forget , you pay the  tax  from miners 19-24% even before you begin mining.

And your cost of electricity is more expensive than hashnest.

www.hashnest.com

Antminer S7  4860 GHs
Price: 1923.0 USD(8.30659141฿)  Stock: 880
Power: 0.249w/GHS
Maintenance Fee:$0.0005796/GHS/Day

It all depends on how much you have own money to invest.

Do not forget that you can also lose the investment.

Overpriced solar electricity is not mining Resource...

It is too late. Bitcoin train has already traveled a long time ago from your station and have left the European Union.

1227  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Diff thread sept 17th. to sept 30th Picks are open!! on: September 20, 2015, 10:46:45 AM
I think this should be a negative

-1.26% to   -1.50%   Tupsu

1228  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: AntS7 is on sale at Hashnest on: September 20, 2015, 10:19:51 AM
That sure is a lot of S5's.  I'm curious if you are close to ROI on the hashnest S5's.  I'm too lazy to do the maths on how long it would take to ROI on the S7's at hashnest.

Not even close to ROI

My average S5 purchase price is 0.001217 BTC GHs 1,405657BTC for S5

However, S5  possibility to ROI  is much greater than the S7 ROI

It all depends on Bitmain behaving, if the BTC price rises.

If Bitmain  raise the S7 price, has won all previous S7 buyers. If not , they are all lost. Hashnest S7 price goes down and S7 "never" ROI .

Hashnest S5 market opened in early February.

S5 price In February    was close to the 1.8 BTC for S5
2015-02-12 1.7409 ฿
2015-02-22  1.80835 ฿
2015-02-25  1.7906 ฿

Today the market price is 1 BTC for S5

The same can also happen with S7 price.

6blades on 3 water blocks? or 6blades on 6 water blocks?

i have water input and output at the waterblock ~30C and reported temp on the blade is ~50C

looks like i have a bed contact between the s5 blade and wb or the s5 is giving off too much heat for this aluminium wb....

6 blades 4 water blocks, syscooling housing http://shop.syscooling.com/goods.php?id=51

what is your lowest s5 temperature on water?
can't get water cooled s5 under 50C! is this normal? in the same condition, i have under 30C temperature on c1!

I have not measured the temperature of the water. It may be 35-40 degrees Celsius.  Antminer shows 57-63 for
six blades at frequency 350 .I am using  SC-BC2  cooling kit  http://shop.syscooling.com/goods.php?id=46

testing atm with File System Version   Wed Jul 15 15:36:15 CST 2015

after 16m6s  i have ~2,286.79gh

temp on the 3*12cm original C1 radiator is hooooooooooooooot! ~70c!!!

This radiator is not for S5

If you put other and faster  fans, You can use it with 2x S5 blade.

With original fans You can use it with formula
1 radiator=1x S5 blade.
1232  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S5: 1155GH(+OverClock Potential), In Stock $0.319/GH & 0.51W/GH on: September 19, 2015, 07:35:32 PM
So is it safe to run 4 blades on 1 controller??
thx!

Yes. 4 blades and 2 x S5 original FAN.

My water-cooled S5 miners works for more than half a year with 3 or 4 blades.

quote GM
Due to recent improvements in our hardware and infrastructure, we are pleased to announce that we are able to decrease maintenance from 0.0015 to 0.0012 USD per Gh/s per day for purchases.

No hosting fee  Smiley

But hashnest S5 Maintenance Fee is :$0.001175/GHS/Day

and S7 Maintenance Fee is :$0.0005796/GHS/Day

Antminer S5 prize in Hashnest GHs market is 0.0008999 BTC / GHs   0.8999 BTC from 1 TH/s
1235  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: which site is the best for mining? on: September 19, 2015, 12:00:27 PM

Very BAD estonian scamsite.
1236  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: BTC Mining and migrants on: September 19, 2015, 11:43:44 AM
Do you think the current migrant crisis in Europe has anything to do with bitcoin?  Do you think the migrants are thinking that they can earn more btc in Germany vs. Greece vs. Turkey?  Is there a way to donate btc to the migrants?

I speculate that a lot of these migrants are for bitcoins (economics), not refugees from war.

I think, that 99,999% of them are  never in his life heard from BTC.
1237  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: So who drops out at the halving? on: September 18, 2015, 10:38:04 PM
can someone inform me on when exactly the halving is taking place?

http://bitcoinclock.com/
1238  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: So who drops out at the halving? on: September 18, 2015, 10:32:58 PM
I think that after BTC  halving we can see the dramatic BTC price drops .

It is very possible, that after halving Antminer S5 does not make a profit with Hashnest  electricity price $0.001175/GHS/Day.

1239  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Hands On] Bitmain AntMiner S5+ - Notlist3d on: September 18, 2015, 05:45:58 PM

I'm disappointed with the heatsink falling off.  I was hoping they would treat them like gold with RMA and get you perfect boards.

Was one heatsink all that fell off? Or did others seem loose?

I put with a akasa thermal adhesive tape  a second radiator from BFL Single 25GH/s , and it seems that everything is working.

But I'm also disappointed. I noticed the missing radiator only when I started to put blades in the place .

I found the missing radiator in bubble wrap.
It seems that this time it is used thermal adhesive tape, not glue.

But I'm sure it's not a good design. Poor material for bonding the radiators, and more are not needed. Radiators fall like  apples from the apple tree.  Chinese autumn. Radiators  were ready for picking.
1240  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Hands On] Bitmain AntMiner S5+ - Notlist3d on: September 18, 2015, 01:49:36 PM
I received today a parcel from China .

Inside were two blades from  S5 +

View the last image. One of the radiator is already off.

Of course, they did not send me a new FAN to replace the damaged fan...
Shitmain Chinese warranty in all its glory.

I decided not to buy any more S7.

I have already sent back to China 3 x S5+ hashing boards.
Shipping  costs total over 120 euro.

S7 has the same miserable Design as  S5+.
And it is really a poor thermo adhesive clue , which they used for S5+.  You also can not put a new and better clue themselves.
You can not just remove  the old glue.

If something happens to one of the S7 blades, you have to send back to China at the own  expense  over half a kilo radiators.
