Interesting to see what happens to S5 market price.

Falls down and then recovers.
Currently, you can buy 1x S5 for 1 BTC
1282  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: S7 controller has nine 18- pin jacks So what can we do with it? on: September 09, 2015, 09:20:27 AM
It's pretty obvious that Bitmain will eventually release an "S7+" - already did most of the engineering for it between the S7 and the S5+.

Has anyone actually tried running an S5 hash board on an S7 controller yet, or a S7 hashboard on an S5/S5+ controller?

How would it be possible ? S7 is not yet shipped.

S5+ blade works with S5 controller.

1283  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Should Bitmain make a Q7? on: September 08, 2015, 10:23:01 PM
I think with the S5+ monster and the S7 using the same 3 card chassis and controller with provision for 9 Hash boards, combined with the lack of an S6 and we have seen the way forward as being very high density modules, based on a single hash board design for single unit and 3 unit rack type units. Entirely geared towards Farms, with an S7+ and 14.58TH/S is the next logical step.
....................

The length of S7 is 301 mm

The length of S5+ is only 275 mm

The lenght of S5+ blade is 180 mm , height 127 mm at lower edge

The length and height of S7 blade are not known.
1284  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Hands On] Bitmain AntMiner S5+ - Notlist3d on: September 08, 2015, 07:11:04 PM

Is the hashing board on a C1 part?

Yes. It is on the top of the C1 water block just for the size comparison.
1285  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Hands On] Bitmain AntMiner S5+ - Notlist3d on: September 08, 2015, 10:34:10 AM
The s5+ i got had zero dust in it. I was suprised it was so damn cleanlol

1 thing to note about the warranty is (and i noticed it only when they emailed me the doc the day the miner was set to be delivered):

"3. In some cases, the warranty will be void, but Bitmain can still do repairs at your own expense if requested. The following events will void the warranty:
     a. Customer removes/replaces any components by himself without receiving permission from Bitmain first;
     b. Damage caused by electrical surges, lightning, or inadequate power supply;
     c. Burnt parts on hash boards or chips;
     d. Miner/boards/components damage due to water immersion or corrosion due to wet environment."

Look at letter "c" in the above reasons to void the warranty. "C" shouldnt ever be listed with a miner because when a miner fails it rarely does so without leaving some char mark on and or around the component that failed. Things like chips and smd caps tend to bubble and darken the surrounding areas so by putting this in the "reasons for warranties being void" section makes the warranty pretty much pointless. Ontop of that opening the miner can void the warranty too so just trying to look at the non working board/boards can get u a big old "warranty voided" sticker slapped on ur super expensive purchase. Kinda sucks that they gave me this info only after i made my purchase so i couldnt decide beforehand. Maybe i missed this info when i read the description of the miner.

Looks familiar, is that from a g-black?

Or from some Avalon (clone) ?
1287  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Announcement: Bitmain launches AntMiner solution, 0.68 J/GH on chip on: September 07, 2015, 10:45:50 PM

But the PPS/TH Earnings line in the chart is AFTER or BEFORE maintenance?

Before.
1288  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Announcement: Bitmain launches AntMiner solution, 0.68 J/GH on chip on: September 07, 2015, 08:40:50 PM
Does the "PPS/TH Earnings" number in the HashNest website already factor in maintenance or is it mining revenue BEFORE maintenance expenses?

Same question on the cumulative "Payout Total" number.

A small sample.

Payout Total(BTC)
41.01489779

Maintenance(BTC)
21.49802663

Maintenance/Payout(PPS)  is today  not important at all

Hasnest pays per PPLSN
Mining Revenue Distribution

1.     Mining revenues generated from Hashnest mining contracts will be paid out using the PPLSN (Pay Per Last N Shares) method.

1289  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: S7 controller has nine 18- pin jacks So what can we do with it? on: September 07, 2015, 07:40:43 PM
I'm not sure that it will be S7 controller.
This is only one of the possibilities, and can change already with patch2 S7, or even earlier.

But I am pretty sure that,  as S5+ , as well as S7,  be able to work with S5 controller.

And these are easy to obtain, if you have two S5.

Hi there
Is there any one help me my miner S5 is beeping continuously   from 3 days  once it reset all its setting .
Although  its work properly how could I stop its beep

Use in the original fan, in port Fan1
1293  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Constant Dropping of one Board Antminer S5! (ALL of THEM) on: September 07, 2015, 09:50:26 AM
If 22 miners are the same controller board problem, it can only be problem in the software.

That was the answer I was hoping to read here.
1294  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Antminer S6 - Not For Sale? on: September 06, 2015, 06:10:16 PM
S1-your own power supply.
S2-same chips as S1, big case, power supply.
S3-your own power supply.
S3+-same chips as S3, but overclocked.
S4-same chips as S3, big case, power supply.
S4+-same chips as S3, more chips than S4.
S5-your own power supply.
S5+-your own power supply, over three times more chips than S5.
S6-no big case with power supply using the same chips as S5.
S7-the newest chips.

You forgot S3++ miner
1295  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Constant Dropping of one Board Antminer S5! (ALL of THEM) on: September 06, 2015, 05:48:04 PM
Obviously, this is boards problem.
They are sometime overheated and now we have some chips with poor contact.

My recommendation. Turn the controller to the other side, so that data cables can be exchanged. It is only four screws, at Controller metal frame.
Check , the error is repeated on the same blades or not.

Come on, i would know if the problem it's the controller board im talking that 22 miners from different batch do the same thing! and people here come and say to check the PSUs.. it's like they are not reading what i typed..

What are the odds that me and my friends have bought 22 miners with the left BOARD with problems???

What are the odds that You  and You friends have bought 22 miners with the controller board   problems???
1296  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S5+ is available to order, 7.722TH/S 0.445J/GH on: September 06, 2015, 04:28:50 PM
That sound pretty tasty.

Do you have a picture of of Frankenstein (2xS5 + 2xS5+ Blades)? I'm curious as to how you place the boards to other heatsinks so that they get cooled.

No pictures.
My  setup work in the S5+ housing with  2x S5+   fans.  Total 3x S5+  blades. One runs with separate S5 controller.

2 other S5+ blades are connected with self-made long S5 data cables to normal S5 miner controller.

S5 cable is only 8cm
and S5+ data cable is 16cm long.
My self-made long data cables is 22 cm long.

1297  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Brainstorming Mining room cooling - Need advice on: September 06, 2015, 04:17:48 PM
You can put one extra fan for S5.

If you use 2x the original S5 fan, the ambient temperature may be  50 degrees Celsius.
1298  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Brainstorming Mining room cooling - Need advice on: September 06, 2015, 02:42:16 PM
You have not yet explained why you need the best efficiency factor miners, If your electricity is free of charge.

Is it because of greediness ?

This! S5+ is the way to go with free electricity atm, unless you have space issues?

No. I think the best way is used S5 .
65 degrees Celsius is not some kind of a problem for them.  Tested with my Water Cooled S5-half years

You are simply wrong S5
the correct S5 speed is  2,9TH/s, see mine   Grin

Is that S5 being overclocked to over double what it should be doing or did antminer get their calculations wrong as they say the S5 is 1155GH/s

It is simply a revolution in mining.
Uppgrade your existing S5 with S5+ blade(s)
