I moved my coins to test a consolidated vs fragmented wallet. So far it seems that the consolidation is yielding much less than when it was fragmented.

Interesing!!

Exchange Update

You can now vote for Analcoin to be added to Cryptsy on the coins list (added today)

VOTE FOR ANAL! Analcoin is now on Cryptsy's @cryptsy coinlist! Please vote for us!! https://www.cryptsy.com/coinvotes/ #analcoin

How do you mean takeover? As long as the nodes stay up and exchanges list us, I think we've already taken over?

Give the dev chance to return by end of POW. Remember there is not much that the dev said he can say at this point and he mentioned he will release a new wallet once there is an exchange listing that can use their API for the in wallet trading. Worry about the dev if he does not post by the end of POW and in the meantime carry on with what you guys are doing.

Whoever the top 3 people are on the rich list I'd like to suggest 5,000 Analcoins please donated for the giveaway.

It will not be possible to do marketing, encourage adoption and increase value of Analcoin without getting as many peope on board as possible.

I believe long term it should be easy to get each Analcoin to a $10 value, however there needs to be alot of work and alot of generosity from this community to achieve that.

Really depending on how much is donated depends on how much wider adoption there will be, I have already pledged 500, two other community members have also pledged 500 and 50 respectively.

I think first wallet looks like suprnova pool wallet?
Will donate more after mining ends - only 10798 blocks to go Smiley

And another probably Yobit.

And Weight in the wallet ... ?

Ways of making that better?

Buy more, or don't open your wallet for a few days. You will find blocks almost instantly

Rather keep the wallet open than to close and open after a few days. I have between 30-60 stakes per day and they compound, especially since the min age is just 1 hour. If you keep it closed and open it after a few days it is nothing more than winding up a spring and releasing it. If you understand compounded interest you will know that it is better to keep the wallet open and earn smaller stakes and then stakes on stakes which will be more in the end than just a once of interest in a while.

I wonder if the coin aging and staking slowdown is different depending whether you
1. keep the wallet open all the time (this gives many small stakes), or
2. open it once per several days, wait for the coins to stake, then close (in this case you'll get few big blocks of staked coins)

Seems like in the case (2) the staking rate slowdown could be less (as the staked blocks are big..), but I am really unsure if thats the case...

As I said, there is the hypothesis, but you need a prolonged test of the two methods and do measurements to get to a sound conclusion.

Buy more coins on the exchange and withdraw them to your wallet.

I am new to Staking ... exactly what and why is there a benefit to moving coins from one pc wallet to another and back ... if any?
Re-Setting the staking age?
Increasing the weight?

I want to understand the concept and if there is a benefit ... to of course capitalize on it.

The stake that you receive is the result of a formula that take into account the length that the coins have been in an address in your wallet (age) and the number those coins. The more the coins and the bigger the age and the bigger the chunks, the bigger and quicker the results. However, total stake for the year must more or less equal to the % in the design. However, as coin age grows bigger the coins staking splits up and at some point can become 0. Whether you move coins around depends on the minimum stake age, in other words the amount of time coins have to be in an address in your wallet without moving before it becomes eligible for staking. If the min stake age is long like 24 hours it would be silly to move your coins around because then you have to wait another 24 hours before your coins mature. If stake age is short like 1 hour, then you can move around because you only have to wait 1 hour before the coins mature again. Some say that moving coins once a day is optimal and you lose just one hour in the day. If you move your coins back in one large chunk, your next stake will probably be a large one. If you have many small amounts, you will have many small stakes but if you add both up, it seems that they will average out over time. There is an exception where if your coins reach max coin age where they lose their eligibility for staking. Then you have to move them if you want to continue staking.

One actually have to take 1 real time year (100 crypto years  Roll Eyes ) and do empirical testing to see how the two strategies compare over a full year to make a proper conclusion. Depending on your objectives you can create your own optimal staking strategy.

Great explanation, JC ! Thanks! I did not know the coin can just stop staking because it is too old... I was thinking after max maturity time the it (the maturity) will just reset to zero, and coin will start gaining maturity again...

Just for me to understand better: you tell "However, as coin age grows bigger the coins staking splits up and at some point can become 0.".

This "some point" is the "MAX Stake Age"?
Is this "staking slowdown with coin age" gradual, or the coin stakes always at same rate, but then stake rate jump to zero when it reaches "max stake age" ?

If the coin age and block time is properly matched you might get to max age without 0 stakes. In the case of some of the recent high staking % coins with no coin control and where the blocks were super fast reached the point of 0 stakes very quickly. In some cases that point was reached in only a few days where the max coin age was 4 times that much.

I don't know exactly how to explain it and perhaps someone else can correct me and explain it better, but if you take a piece of paper and cut it in half and cut that half in half an that half in half etc., there will be a point where the piece of paper is too small to be cut and the size of that piece will be negligible and virtually 0.  If you then take all the tiny pieces of paper and give it to someone else in exchange for a new whole piece of paper then you can start cutting again. The question is at which point is it optimal to exchange your tiny pieces of paper for a new whole piece, taking into account that when you do the exchange, you have to wait one hour before you can start cutting again and in other cases you have to wait 24 hours.

Although I participated in the ICO myself, my view on WOC remains short term and opportunistic. Based on criteria of dev action, plans, quality of OP and potential to create future demand, the coin has only short term potential. This can however change based on dev action. There might be a pump like there always is but be ready and take profit while you are ahead. The same happened with ROS and Risk and will also with WOC. Made ROI with all of these but don't let greed be your downfall as investor/trader. There are no indications to suggest that this coin will not follow the same path as the rest. Be cautious and remember that $1 in the pocket is better than $0 and a bag of coins. As always I hope all traders make tons of money.

Points of particular concern:
- Still no transparent block explorer that indicates total money supply and rich list.
- Roadmap does not indicate any items that will create future demand, meaning that the only thing going for it is low coin supply. Without future sustainable demand, whoever holds the bag when the music stops will be the loser (the downfall of most other coins)

You had to choose an explorer that does not have a rich list and total coin supply?

Okay I've tried to send some funds from MY chain to C-Cex and it worked, so at least Suprnova and C-Cex are on the same chain, Manhattanmine is currently solo as far as it looks, so this time the fork went for the other pool not for Suprnova.

Anyone from Manhattanmine online here that can check their side? There is 48T pointed at their pool at the moment.

No block explorer, forks. It does not look well. Just stating the facts.

Whatever I try I always end up on another chain than Manhattanmine is..

Is there an official BLock explorer or anything official I can refer to ?

We have been asking the dev for a proper block explorer for some time now but there is only a community one that is broken. Normally a proper block explorer is the first thing to do, before making nice websites etc. I cant think of a reason why the dev would not set up a proper block explorer.

HELP MINE FOR BUTTMAN!

If anyone wants to help support Buttman you can go to htttp://anal.suprnova.cc and help increase Buttman's mining power by powering a worker!

Worker Details

worker username: clackersmaracas.bitcointalk
worker password: minemyanus

Please pump this anal mine dry for Buttman! Wink

It is better to use a separate worker per machine because many small machines on one worker address will let the share difficulty go up that the small machines cannot handle properly. You will have to create 20 workers .bitcointalk1,2,3 etc. but the administration to sort out one machine per worker will be difficult on your part. Get people to promise here and PM you and then you PM each one a worker address.

Maybe it is me that i'm too stupid to understand crypto world but why are people selling this low?

1. Do we have high hashrate? YES
2. Do we have a decent exchange? YES
3. Do we have a active DEV? YES
4. Do we have a launch without problems? YES
5. Are there any giveaways run? YES

So lets sell all our coins with a +50% loss.  Grin

Getting a working block explorer that is in sync with the wallet and block chain is important.

Of course... is there still a problem with the block explorer? I always check in wallet to see how many blocks there are.

Yes the explorer is all messed up. From icons at the top that does not correspond to the coins below to coin count differences to wallet sizes everything. I know one can look in the wallet, but if you want people to trust you then you must have an independent source that confirms what you are saying. Compare this to management of a company that says their profit and loss and assets for a financial year was X. The public and investors can either just believe management, or rely on a report from an independent audit firm to audit the financial statements and confirm that what management says is a true reflection. So it is simple really, for the sake of transparency just get a working block explorer that confirms everything and I am sure that it will contribute to a positive future for WOC.

I agree with you... that is something that DEV have to look into. I believe my ICO work is here finished. People received their coin, buy wall is in place and will stay there for 4 weeks (adjusted as described in the rules of escrow).

It is actually the very first thing a dev should do from the word go for transparency and to get investor confidence. Do this sooner rather than later before things slip away. With crypto you have to do everything in your power to keep miners and the community close to you from the start because once they are gone it is very difficult to get them back.

There are several pieces to the puzzle of a successful coin and one important piece is a working block explorer.

I'm pretty sure that this block explorer is a little wrong Cheesy

Run getinfo in your wallet:

"moneysupply" : 253645.00000000,

Yesterday i already start paying out ICO investors. They ask me to pay in small blocks and not directly in one payment, so maybe that is why above screenshot looks strange. I'm currently not behind my ICO laptop, just want to react on the message. All ICO coins will be paid later today, as i'm currently at a biking race, so no worries. I'll be home in 10 hours.

Thanks for the reply Placebo. Can the owner of the block explorer please explain the difference between its "version" of the the state of affairs based on the blcok chain and the wallet's "version" of the state of affairs based on the block chain? A block explorer is supposed to be an independent audit tool whereas a wallet is coded by a dev. Lets hope it is is the block explorer that is broken.
2580  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] WOC - WarOfCoins - SHA256 COIN - BIG ADV ON THE WAY. on: March 22, 2015, 12:44:11 AM
Dev, can you just quickly explain a small technicality before proceedings go on. I am sure there is a good reason for it or maybe just a technical error or just me that don't understand the ICO and launch properly. In the top wallets on the block explorer the total coin supply seems to be double the 250k of the ICO approximately 477k. I was under the impression the ICO was just 250k as per the OP and that total coin supply by now must be 250k plus the few mined since launch. I went through the thread to determine if there was another allocation for some reason e.g. additional coins for a 2nd phase ICO etc. but I couldnt see any. Who controls the other addresses? Apologies if it is just me that is misinterpreting this particular block explorer. If it is adequately explained I will delete this post so that it is not fud and unfounded.
