1483  Bitcoin / Press / Re: 2013-10-17 VentureBeat: Malware holds your encrypted data ransom for Bitcoins on: October 19, 2013, 07:19:26 PM
BTW , luckily this doesnt affect VSS ... so if you have any recent volume snapshots, which windows makes periodically, all ur files are safely in there, not encrypted =)
1484  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANN: custom BFL firmware - tested 5-7GH pool meas. improvement on 60GH singles on: October 19, 2013, 07:05:17 PM
I uncommented DO_NOT_USE_ENGINE_ZERO and it's not helped.

Try upping the boot frequency, specified at the top of ASIC_engine.c ... the variables you see commented, try setting the boot index one higher.
1485  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANN: custom BFL firmware - tested 5-7GH pool meas. improvement on 60GH singles on: October 19, 2013, 07:03:13 PM
My hardware error rate jumped to like 11% from about 0.5% with this firmware so it seems that all the extra hashrate is just bad hashrate =(

Depends on what shape ur chips are actually in. Yours seem to be pretty bad =(

With the mentioned tweaks, actual pool measured hashrate(taking into account HW error, rejects etc...) for me went from 57 to 64GH...

1494  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] BitBurner Fury complete kit 320 GH/s – 640 GH/s on: October 16, 2013, 08:20:54 PM
There is no way he is going to sell at a loss. He paid $8000 for the kit. If he paid via BTC then he's looking to get 52 btc at the current mtgox price just to break even. Having said that this kit will make 18 btc per month.

Thats the risk you take in buying hardware from suppliers. The kit is only worth more if theres proof of it hashing higher than whats showin in his screenshot.  Its worth based solely on how much BTC one can mine from it and who wants to ultimately end up having to deal w/ disposing of it once it no longer makes decent BTC.

Thats the reality of selling 2nd hand. Although, Im sure there will be suckers out there who buy no matter the price =)

1497  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Experimenting with Jalapeno firmware... on: October 16, 2013, 05:01:27 AM
awesome, ... now Im trying to figure out higher frequency words for the clock generator. If anyone knows the order of words from 5555(current highest) to CD55(seems to be highest as specified in commented out line in osc control of ASIC_engine.c .. .that would be great if ya could post.
The current pattern looks like this - fill in blank lines between top group and bottom value(not sure how many lines are needed =P)

1500  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANN: custom BFL firmware - tested 5-7GH pool meas. improvement on 60GH singles on: October 15, 2013, 02:55:37 PM
Well I ran into issues w/ the lower HW error & slightly less clocks. Im not exactly sure what the cause is yet, but my single would just kinda stop mining after a good 40mins in my recent testing. I went back to the build that I released publicly(to you guys) and this problem has not happened. So... yeah... lol, may just have to deal w/ the more laxed engine enabling & next might be trying to see if I can figure out other word values for the clock index(see if can bring clock speed even higher)
