1361  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin "bumper sticker" mottos on: December 12, 2013, 05:52:11 AM
There was another thread like this a while back, the motto I came up w/ for a bumper sticker:

Bitcoin: cuz banks suck!

among a few others, but that was my favorite =)

do you have any risers?

naw just updated that I sold that as well =/
1363  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [OPEN] 200 gh/s "Sunzi Miner"(Rack Mountable)- 6.6 BTC on: December 12, 2013, 05:07:40 AM
man, Id love to grab another sunzi but given the latest diff increase and a week of previous diff, made all the difference in the world between a fair pricepoint original 6.9btc and the now ripoff price of 6.6btc....
Id offer 4btc for a sunzi...
1364  Economy / Speculation / Re: It's over. Bitcoin is finished. on: December 11, 2013, 11:03:40 PM
seems most of you guys still forget why the first 2 bubbles popped: technically issues @ major exchanges caused mass fear and that fear driven further by negative media.

We, so far, arent seeing that in this bubble... the panic etc... seems to be more directly related to governments / banks attitude towards bitcoin .. So, what happens after this bubble pop will be very interesting... as governments / banks continue to move against Bitcoin ... what will people ultimately want, freedom or slavery...
1365  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: WTS: Various GPU's & mining components... on: December 11, 2013, 08:17:10 AM
updated whats left ... just make offers in PM .. dont wanna deal w/ updating prices lol
1366  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: The Chili – 30+GH/s BFL based Bitcoin Miner Assembly on: December 10, 2013, 06:55:36 PM
think I figured out reason why this one chili runs so hot... I didnt realize in bfgminer you can look at more device specific measurements but doing "manage devices" and just scrolling through them.
Shows more voltages & another temp measurement.
So, the chili that runs hot, runs at a higher voltage than any of my other chilis... must just be very low quality chips on that one =P
1367  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: The Chili – 30+GH/s BFL based Bitcoin Miner Assembly on: December 10, 2013, 06:54:10 AM
A double Chili please...

very cool =)

For those that might have cooling issues another data point: I have 1 unit that runs at 65 and then it reports 120 and the miner software turns it off... and then right back on and its back at 65. This causes the unit to slowly step back up to its running speed of 36ish GH/S. I'll tinker around with the heatsinks and see if that fixes it up. I didn't think the temp could fluctuate that much and that quickly.

Yeah, one of my chili's is stlil acting up. I reseated the HSF and the original mount looked fine, the AS5 was evenly spread out on all chips. Its weird tho, when all of the chilis are warmer, this one runs cooler. Like this one will register between 62-63 when others are around 55-65C ... but when others drop to 45-55C (due to decreasing ambient temps) this one shoots up to 68-70C and its hashrate slightly increases.... I wonder if its being clocked up but still hitting some type of limit and being throttled .. vs when its running cooler - it runs even slower. Or Im wondering if one of the temp sensors is just fucked. I dont know.
I have one running at 55C and running at 39+ GH .. =)...that one is extremely happy...most of the others average between 36-38GH and this hot one sits right around 35-36GH
Possibly that one is VRM limited. The VRM temperature isn't listed but is limited to 70C. If the board is keeping voltage down to stay within the 70C envelope, it could cause that one to increase in ASIC temperature and hashrate as the ambient goes down if it then has more headroom to increase the voltage.

Well I have the same airflow setup running across all the VRM's on my chili's and they VRM's are pretty damn cool to the touch compared to no airflow ... the VRMs feel the same between all my chili's ... including the hot one.

reseated the cooler on that one....its a bit better ... brought it down 5C , bit closer to the others now =) ... no speed improvement but at least its happier.

Can someone respond to my question about the temperature readout shown in the mining software? Is it the hottest sensor on the board or a specific sensor?
Hottest of the ASICs.

hrm ok.... then I have an oddball chili somewhere =( in a really cold room, most of them run 55C or less.... but I have one that sticks out like a soar thumb at 65-66C in same temp.

Do you know if the devices are mapped correctly in bfgminer? like if I disable the hot one and look for the one w/o the "working" leds blinking...that should be the one?

Or is mapping incorrect just like how it was for GPU's...

Maybe that Chili has a chip that sits too low and isn't getting good contact with the cooler?

Perhaps, I just hoping the bfgminer mapping is correct and Im actually dealing w/ the right chili =P guess one way to tell is unplug all but the one it "thinks" is running hot and verify it is indeed that one. Yeah, thats what Ill do =)
Then Ill just reseat that heatsink...see if can get better results.

Easiest way is to go into bfgminer and disable that chili and then play find the chili with no leds flashing Smiley

disable by pressing m and using the arrow keys to the correct chili and then press d and enter i believe

Yeah, I know how to do that... was just concerned that he actual listed device was not correctly mapped. GPU's used to have that problem. But, Ill find out =)
1372  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: The Chili – 30+GH/s BFL based Bitcoin Miner Assembly on: December 07, 2013, 01:39:11 AM
yeah, thats what Im hoping is the case.
My best chili is at 39GH @ 52c =P

Im sure if I put these things in the garage where its zero or below atm..... they would be running between 38-40GH each...lol

but, I prefer having free heat in the house =)

Got a question, the temperature readout in bfgminer/cgminer ... is this the of the hottest sensor on the board? Or... a specific sensor...

Really happy w/ my chilis atm - bought a sunzi (6 chilis)

In my cold room ... they are clockin between 36-39GHs/avg ... freakin awesome!
My overall error rate at this speed is 7%
Power consumption @ wall - 1280W

Total avg hashrate: 225GH

Wow, that is awesome! You must be keeping those chilis chilly.

I wonder if he got lucky and got a good batch of chips.  They're all running cool. I have one that performs this way and it's getting almost 37ghs.  The rest are pegged at 70 and get between 33 and 35

Well the room they are in ... is like 50-60F =P
Oh, can chilis be safely "hot plugged/unplugged" on the power?

Yeah, I wish I could figure out whats up w/ that 11% hw error rate one. It wasnt that high when I tested these at the office. But these were not clocking anywhere near these speeds either at the office. So, maybe its just related to higher speed...or some weird seating issue happened during transport.

this kinda sucks ... complete 180 of their previous statement on Bitcoin ... =/
This will hinder Bitcoins adoption rate in china ... big time ... ugh...
