wait....wtf?!?!?!? the federal reserve chairman stating they have no plans to regulate bitcoin currently??? Isnt this pretty much what the chinese bank administrator said recently???
THIS IS COMPLETELY insane! ... Id expected much more negative from US government. So far, Im thoroughly surprised. If ... this shit is truely this positive...then sky is the limit! Its hard to believe this.
But, the other side is obvious too, while fed may not have any immediate plans to regulate... Im sure they are the ones behind the banks pulling the ropes on closing business accounts because they transact in bitcoin. who knows...

man.... imagine if more local news channels started doing stories on the very fact that xyz business is taking bitcoin. To make local news just because you take Bitcoin is A: freaking HUGE! B: will make the awareness of Bitcoin spread like wildfire amongst general population in the particular localities.
In summary, this is phenomenal!

I love all these donations being set up in bitcoin ... Ive seen several projects for people in africa & now the typhoon to their redcross... but I cant also help but be skeptical at the same time. How do we know as bitcoin users that our btc is actually getting to said agencies, in this case the Philippines red cross? Sure, this looks nice and sincere: https://bitme.com/donateAnd theres obvious proof of the 45 coins at the stated address... But I would like to see evidence of the actual arrangement between Philippines red cross & bitme.com Cuz afaik, bitme could just take the btc and cash it in for themselves...correct me if Im wrong...

Am i the only one who find this very very very impressive and interesting? It is the first time some important hardware company produce something specifically for bitcoin!
This was exactly my first thought when I saw this. Who cares if its a bit late to the game. The fact that a major hardware company(I think they rank #3 for most mobo sales now) ... dedicated any sort of product line r&d, marketing & manufacturering to mining specific target audience is freaking HUGE! This will facilitate any ASIC based PCIe miners and also scrypt mining. So, the use is still there. This is just one step closer to a company like intel making an entire product line ... dedicated to doing just bitcoin mining.

Import the private key on the paper wallet to a wallet on a PC thats on the internet .. then you can send coins from the corresponding Bitcoin address.
alternatively, you can physically give someone the paper wallet .. then they can spend all the coins held by that address =)

yeah, in vista & 7 ... doing a system restore before the infection happened will hopefully get windows rolling again =) ... this uses VSS snapshots to roll files back to that point in time. If that fails, Im gathering .. removing the infection itself, then use VSS(previous versions) to restore encrypted files. Previous versions is accessed via right click on folders in explorer.
But, what would suck is if part of cryptolocker is if it deleted all VSS snapshots, then you would be outta luck. But from what other people have reported, it doesnt do that. Perhaps cryptolocker 2.0? would...lol

CryptoLock virus afaik, only encrypts files it has access to(including network shared write acces files). One way to restore access to your files is, recovering your files via VSS snapshots(also including shared network files on server). Cryptolock cannot encrypt those. I love VSS =)
VSS? How? VSS - volume shadow copy - aka previous version , available on all windows xp and higher. But turned off by default on many win 8 installs =( MS castrated VSS in win 8

Easy tool for making (secure) paper wallets, heavily documented and open source (so it's safe, as the code can be checked by hand): http://bitcoinpaperwallet.comI love the design of this paper wallet. I have the source downloaded and on an offline computer and print wallets locally =) One of my favs by far!

personally at this point im hoping there are major delays and i can just get a refund of my exact amount of coins. Its clear at this point the correct move would have been knc and as much as I dislike BFL, BFL may end up shipping before hashfast.
Hate to be the bearer of bad news but you are not going to get a refund of "exact amount of coins". Prices were in USD, invoices in USD, all advertising in USD. If you get a refund it will be in USD. If you want that refund paid in BTC (instead of say a bank wire) it will be at the exchange rate of the day. The only way you are getting exact coins back is if by some small miracle the exchange rate crashes back to the same one it was on the day you paid. You don't have to believe me, and don't attack the messenger. You can hold out hope and wait for Hashfast to contradict me but that contradiction isn't coming. Yeah, just like what happened w/ tom @ bASIC ... got back so little coins cuz rate skyrocketed.
