1801  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why is it becoming a thread for casinos refusing paying very huge winnings? on: January 13, 2023, 07:06:11 PM
There are some individuals who claimed this and I understand that it has been a bit more common in here and there, but that's more about us hearing more about it now than it happening more these days.

I think the amount of times it happened is exactly the same and has not increased at all, I think this has happened before and it has been the same amount of times, but this time around we are hearing more about it and that's a lot more important. That's why it's quite important to keep it going with the reputation topics and increasing the importance of bitcointalk, because it's not just about crypto, but it's also about keeping casinos responsible for all their actions.
1802  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Best crypto selling method on exchanges on: January 13, 2023, 06:12:34 PM
I do prefer to sell it instantly because I rarely sell and when I do that means I need it right away. Plus, I am a long term investor, which means that if I am going to sell my coins, it is already at a very vastly different price point and that means that small difference between selling instantly on market price versus selling on an order is not that huge compared to the huge difference between when I bought and when I sell.

My ideal situation would be selling when the price hits over 100k, so lets assume that it did and I am going to sell, the price is something like 103.2k and I sell at 103.1k because of market sell, do you think it would matter at all?
1803  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: why most of airdrops don't pay participants with tokens in these days?? on: January 13, 2023, 05:49:03 PM
I think it has everything to do with the bear market. Most projects back in the day would make some money, not a lot but at least some even if they are bad and they could make A LOT of money if they were any good.

These days most of them suck and they do not make any money at all which means that they just give up, I have seen plenty of projects like that where the owners just give up, because their bounty didn't work and it resulted with them being terrible in the long run and they just do not want to give tokens to people because they stop the project. Same happened here, just doesn't make sense to me at all and would be smarter if it was not participated in at the first place.
1804  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Degods -> ETH, y00ts -> Polygon, Will $SOL going down more? on: January 13, 2023, 05:14:44 PM
I honestly do not think that these were what kept SOL be high, nor they are not the ones that made it good neither. If SOL drops, it will be totally unrelated to this, and if it ever goes up it will be unrelated to this as well.

I believe that we are going to have some sort of trouble in the long run if we just trust SOL to be good based on the projects it has, because those projects could leave at any moment, if you want to trust SOL then trust it directly and invest into it because SOL is good and not because of any other project. I personally do not like it that much, but do not dislike it more because of this at all, unrelated.
1805  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Saudi Professional League 2022/2023 on: January 12, 2023, 10:14:08 PM
The fact that this topic didn't existed more than a week ago, and already has been 8+ pages shows the power of Cristiano Ronaldo. Not that he is still a superstar, he is a superstar "name" but he is not the type of player you would put at Reals front anymore obviously, because he got older. Don't know what people expected, him to win ballon d'or until 50 years old? Of course not.

However, his name is still huge, his name alone made it possible for him to get paid that much, not just his talents. This is as much of a PR move by the team and the league and even the nation as it was for football reasons, probably more PR than football actually. So, it doesn't matter how he plays there.
1806  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: January 12, 2023, 09:05:30 PM
Sengun had his first career triple double, and the youngest ever to have this at centre position as well. That kid looks like he could be something special given the right training and right way to use him, he is not bad at passing at all, and a passing centre is very vital in todays NBA considering it's a guard scoring heavy league.

Even Jokic doesn't feel the need to score every night if he could get his teammates scoring a lot, and three pointers are a lot more important. Most of his assists came from picks as well, he sets a pick with the ball in his hand, that's is move and he rolls to the paint as well so you either let the guard score, or you leave Sengun empty which he can score easily there too.
1807  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Celsius won $4.2B worth of customers funds on: January 12, 2023, 06:53:53 PM
If I am not wrong, during times like these there is a law that prevents all debtors to get 100% of the funds. You first pay the customers a max number, something like 25k or something if I am not wrong, don't remember the exact number to be fair, and they get their money, if you invested 100 dollars, you get that 100 back, if invested 5k, get that 5k back, but if you invested 10 million, you only get the max.

So, whatever left will go to whatever payment needed for the bankruptcy and that's it. Means, it's not like customers get zero, but the rich are hurt by this a lot more than the poor people and that is one of the few cases where poor are protected in American law.
1808  Economy / Economics / Re: Good economic news from the US, EU and China! on: January 12, 2023, 03:34:20 PM
It has always been known, well not always but it is a general rule of thumb type of deal. When you have a horrible economy, first you print a lot of money and cause inflation because that means nobody is left with zero money, they can survive, and that helps you get through the first stage, then inflation happens and yeah people are not homeless but they are also not surviving, they are barely paying for food due to increasing prices so you increase interest rate to slow down the inflation.

People keep getting salary increases every year, and inflation was high so they will get a lot in 2023 whereas inflation wouldn't be that high this year. This means companies will try to not hire more new people, hence recession but at least the ones that keep their job will be much better this year and will spend money so companies will make a profit.
1809  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Cronos Price Prediction: Will CRO Price Hit $0.25 in 2023? on: January 12, 2023, 01:56:02 PM
I highly doubt CRO would go up that much, not that it sucks all alone and it is terrible and all that, but because the bull market needs to first bring the high names up first, and then start working on the lower end ones like CRO. Which means, I am not saying it won't go up, all I am saying that it is not its turn yet and that's going to be a tough situation to be in.

I know it is not going to be a big trouble for it to go up, but it needs to wait a bit longer than 2023 before it could reach those levels. Maybe in 2024? That's a possibility, if it is still a relevant one that people invest into, then maybe in 2024, but not in 2023 just yet because we need more time for it at this current stage.
1810  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Terra LUNA Classic Price Prediction 2023-2025 on: January 11, 2023, 09:58:01 PM
There is this insisting on keeping this alive, and I am not entirely sure why? Like I get that you liked it beforehand, but then after what has happened happened, how could we say that it is still a thing? I am not entirely sure if that makes sense to me at all.

I understand that it is not going to be an easy thing at all to accept the situation they are in, but that doesn't change the fact that we have not seen anything big at all during this period, it is quite important to make it consider this way at all.
1811  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Anyone making 4 or 5 digits (USD) monthly from Crypto Sports betting? on: January 11, 2023, 06:16:42 PM
I am not, and if it was just a situation where I have to make a living out of this, I would not be picking sports betting as my go to situation. I mean it's such a risky thing, I would rather do like trading or something to make it and I am not making my living out of trading neither, that's also quite risky but I would pick that over gambling at least, because there is no house edge or anything like that.

The whole point of gambling is to make sure casino wins, they are a business and they are giving you chance to win money by making sure they have a higher chance of making money which means that you wouldn't win on the long run and that's why I wouldn't pick it at all.
1812  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Many signals don't work now like they use to be on: January 10, 2023, 09:46:23 PM
Well in bear markets it's normal. There is a good sense of understanding about the crypto situation we are in and if you can't separate the bear market and the charts then it's going to be pretty upsetting for sure. I believe that the best thing we need to do would be making sure that we are pretty long term when it comes to bear markets and when it comes to bull markets you could start to read charts again and make a profit like that.

It's just the normal thing to do, in the bear market period it's not easy so you will have to end up with some bad results and that is not weird, and during bull most trades will be profitable anyway so you just look for the best.
1813  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2022/23 on: January 10, 2023, 09:26:52 PM
I think Barcelona being better than last year is not a surprise. Not just because Xavi got there and he is making them play a better game, that's quite true and I wouldn't argue against that at all but we are also talking about 100+ million euro worth new transfers as well, ignore everything else and just the fact that they have Lewandowski, one of the best pure scorers of our time is good enough fact that they should be doing better.

They also have plenty of other new players that helped them be better too. Sure they also have some of their old players and Xavi helped, but those new players are definitely there to prove they are good and help them be better.
1814  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: You Learn More from Losses than from Wins on: January 10, 2023, 09:09:51 PM
Learning is one thing but making money is another. If you could learn that's great but after a while if you keep losing then you learned enough and still losing so that's not good. You need to learn from the losses and eventually start to win some, if you keep having some sort of problems no matter what, that's going to hurt you one way or another.

Wins are as important if not more important than the losses because it gives you some money but also gives you a freedom to lose and learn at the same time whereas losses do not have that kind of benefit because there is a limit to your funds and if you keep losing then even if you learned, you do not have the funds anymore.
1815  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Newbie - need your advice after first trades (image joined) thnk you in advance on: January 10, 2023, 08:26:32 PM
I think this is nice and all for someone to ask our opinion on something like this, but the reality is that it's really very very low, it's nearly nothing. I cannot really make any type of calculations and be bothered with it. People may tell you what's good or not, but they are going to be needing some chart and check all the moves you did and their timing and where it was positioned in the chart.

Anyone who doesn't do it will not be giving you a good feedback, it would be just "looks nice!" and nothing more which is not good enough at all. This is why I believe we should be focusing a bit more detailed and I am not willing to spend that much time at all.
1816  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bottom of the Bear Market...let's accumulate!! on: January 10, 2023, 06:44:24 PM
We should but many won't, and they are really the people who shouldn't even be here. Crypto is a volatile thing and sometimes you win and sometimes you lose, there is nothing wrong with that, I do not think that we should be focusing on making money at this point and we should instead try to have as much bitcoin as possible which is accumulation basically. If we could do that then we are going to end up "being ready" for when the time comes and the price goes up.

I know it requires you to spend money now and not have any results at all for a long time which is upsetting to see, but people who bought at 2018 made a killing in 2021, that's 3 years of waiting and yet they recovered and got richer.
1817  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is the $17,000+ bitcoin price breakout benchmark to new price direction on: January 09, 2023, 09:12:23 PM
I would say it is not really a fake out or anything by the looks of it. But while we are trying to get the price going up, and I mean really try and not a fake, there could be some people who may want to see it go down a lot more and that is fine because we do not have to accept our faith and let it drop, we could fight the bear ones and we could end up with fighting it out. That doesn't mean that something like this has to be a real issue, it's going to happen until the bulls win.

We just need one win, if we could get that, all the other bear wins will not matter. When we win just once, then it will come in like a snowball and keep growing until its ATH.
1818  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BlackRock CEO Says ‘Next Generation for Markets’ Is Tokenization on: January 09, 2023, 08:22:52 PM
Not the perspective I would look at, but not that wrong neither. There are too many people who are acting as if they know it all, but they shouldn't really talk like this, it just doesn't make sense. You do not have a magic ball that tells you the future, you are just a CEO and you have an opinion and your opinion is not guaranteed. So, just say "I assume" or "I believe" or whatever.

Because then it would mean that you are just making a guess, and everyone can guess, but if you say "the next generation for market is tokenization!" that means you are saying something that WILL happen and nobody knows what will happen, they can only guess.
1819  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Do you know one can make millions with Launchpads? on: January 08, 2023, 09:53:24 AM
There is a good chance that we could end up with a good launchpad that vets the projects very carefully and gives us only the ones that have both a good finance, a good team and also a good roadmap.

However, right now they only let it be, and pick whoever could possibly pay them the most and that is not normal, that should not be acceptable thing at all. I know people are too worried about what is going to happen with their investments but if you are really worried then do not invest into things that are brand new, that just doesn't make sense to me. I understand it is a very boring thing to just hold bitcoin, but I rather do something that is boring than lose money.
1820  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Miner Marathon Digital Pays Off Silvergate Revolving Credit? on: January 07, 2023, 03:03:33 PM
Getting regular loans and using bitcoin as collateral is not a smart idea, not for the person who gets the loan, and not for the person who gives the loan. There is a huge problem of liquidity, meaning if you take 30 million dollars as a loan and give like lets say 30 million dollars worth of bitcoin as collateral, if the price of bitcoin goes down, either your bitcoin is cashed out, and you still owe some money, or you will be asked to provide more collateral in form of bitcoin to keep it going.

For the one taking the loan that's a problem, and for the one who gives out the loan you have to trust the other side to actually pay the loan.
