44302  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [GROUP BUY WORLDWIDE] #1 Bitmain Antminer U1 USB Erupter [ANN] on: December 08, 2013, 02:27:31 AM
So bitmain has a gold mine here.

Don't be spouting stuff like this before the price is released, you'll give them a big head, then we'll have to pay twice what they thought they were going to get from them.  Come on people doesn't anyone play poker?

While I agree these things would be awesome if they do what they say they do and the price is consistent with other products currently available.  With 5GH/s going for $200-$300 USD and 10GH/s for $400-$600 USD, I would hope these would be between $75-$100 each but I'm not holding my breath.  Like I said, I am interested, but no way am I paying over $100 USD for them when I'm getting Red Furies for that at almost twice the speed.

Waiting patiently. Wink

if they price it high it won't sell.

We really don't know what they can produce  if they want can they make 10000 sticks a week?  Or will it just be too slow?   this game has lots of factors.  they have a nice edge with the power claimed 1 watt less then other sticks.  This mean easy to maintain hubs.

We don't know how well they will run with cgminer or bfgminer.. these are usb their other gear is ethernet.       So far The s-1 gear works okay seems to use more power then advertised  sooo my guess is… they will be a bit over priced use more power then they claim and run at 1.2 not 1.5 gh.  Which means the gold mine ain't going to happen.    Look  they have a huge mark up with the s-1.

no one with the exception of knc has ever over-delivered  on power + gh.  And even knc was a little bit late.  So I figure the price will be just a little more then I want no matter how much I bs or what I say.   I will under order then they will run out and be slow to make more.   We have waited sooo long for this  it reminds me of beanie babies.  personally  I have found out just about no ships fast at a good price and at speed + power ratings.

I am bored so I am shooting some bs at them. It was fun when the AM sticks came in and out of my house and selling them was a matter of how many I felt like listing.  I would love to see a company step up to be close to that but it is not going to happen.
44303  Economy / Digital goods / Re: [WTS] 10 Shares in DZ R9-12 Mining Op (83+ GHZ) on: December 08, 2013, 01:51:03 AM
Well now that I have completely reversed my position  on this buy.

I may want these.  I see where the coins go over night and I will decide on sunday.  feel free to sell them to another bidder, but if btc is around 700 (They are 700.17 as I type this) or more on sunday I think I will take 5-10 of  these.
44304  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Blue Fury Support Thread. on: December 08, 2013, 01:20:11 AM

thanks for the replies, its a usb3 hub:
http://www.ebay.ie/itm/131040267176?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649
but i think others say usb3 is ok for them...
power on it says 5vdc which should be right for 2 sticks..?

do you recall which thread the list of good and bad hubs are listed, cant find it:/ think i need to make new purchase.
thanks!

That's confusing because USB 3 hubs are 12 volts I thought.

Would be the Amps that determine how many you can run.
all usb hubs put out 5 volts  the usb port, but they have different input power bricks.. if the hub has a 5 volt brick there is no dc to dc converter in it. if a HUB has a 12 volt brick there is a 12 volt to 5 volt dc to dc converter in it.   general rules of thumb a 12 volt brick when converted to 5 volts keeps 80 percent of the power.  so 12 volt  x 5 amp = 60 watts x 80 percent or  48 watts.   safe 24/7/365 run is at 80 percent so 80 percent time 48 = 38.4 watts to 3.84 watts for 1 of 10 ports.

a 5 volt hub is 5 volts x ? amps .. I have a few that are 4 amps so 5 x 4 = 20 watts  at  24/7/365 x 80 percent = 16 watts   so if this is for a 7 port hub it is a no go  as 16 /7 = 2.2 watts a port which is not enough.

I am assuimng the bricks run to their ratings.  most don't

never never never stick a 12 volt hub brick into a 5 volt  hub ..  you will fry the hub and the sticks/  been there  done that.

here is a 7 port hub with a 5 volt 4 amp brick  it runs 3 or 4 sticks:

http://www.amazon.com/GearMo%C2%AE-3DH-USB-3-0-7-Port/dp/B00BZABE72/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1386466199&sr=8-3&keywords=gearmo+7+port

here is a 10 port hub with a 12 volt 4 amp hub

 http://www.gearmo.com/shop/10-port-usb-3-hub-gm-3dh10/

this runs around 6 sticks.   if you take this hubs brick and stick it in the 7 port hub from the same company you will burn up the 7 port hub.

I had hundreds of am sticks and around 20 -25 hubs   I learned one lesson don't mix hubs   make sure every one is a 5 volt power brick or a 12 volt power brick.. this way you can't burn the gear up

this is a hashing black arrow project we have made a cash/fiat profit, but it is not perfect just so-so or good   .  it is slower black arrow gear then what you are looking at but it is a lifetime contract

this is the dZcoop list

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=315198.0

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=334360.0   this is a big winner in cash fiat prices.

I turned 3 k into 6k with them in under 2 months.

If I was spending money I would want 20 shares in the r17 buy.  20 shares would be 2600. 20 shares would be 800gh

you would mine in feb not march and your contract would not run out in 4 months.   if I was afraid to spend 2600 on the r17 (which I am afraid to do I would spend 1300 and get 400gh lifetime.

I suppose  the 4 month could be better but I know dZcoop has had 6 rounds of buys that made money and were on time for the most part.
44306  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: Black Arrow R9-12 threads, DZ Miners Co-op. Plz move ?s and discussion here. on: December 06, 2013, 07:25:17 PM
I think they put in some btc .  but I forget if the btc added was for r9 to r12  or r5 -r6

I think 7btc was placed in  just do not remember which set of rounds  was btc put in.

this log jam has made me be less eager to drop coin for 10 shares on r17 since the same company may make the same shortfall.  on those 40gh shares.

7 BTC was for r9-12 (it's a couple pages back, I think).

so we may be short 10 not 17 btc  correct?

hey I have a question about ltc would you host a machine for me?

I would ship it. It is sitting idol and the wife wants it out of the house. It has a hd7970 card with a really good  aftermarket cooler on it.

Sure- can it wait till I get back from China? Tongue

yes
44309  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: Black Arrow R9-12 threads, DZ Miners Co-op. Plz move ?s and discussion here. on: December 06, 2013, 04:42:11 PM
well since it seems like the r9-r12 wants to mine.  I go with that but the next question is we paid for 3.3th  we are not getting that  . we are getting 2.0th and bob is running a .5 th Jupiter to help bring us somewhat closer to 3.3th about 2.5th , but we have been 800gh short for a long time.

days in fact.  so if we stand pat and I go with the majority to stand pat.  what is our compensation  for the missing hash.

1 day at 800gh is pretty decent piece of btc we are more like 8 to 10 days of that shortage.

more in fact and  that is over  5 coins.  I do not have a calculator on hand.

http://bitcoinwisdom.com/bitcoin/difficulty       800 gh is .56btc a day  10 days is 5.6 btc   so what will be the comp for this?

btw I have not charted the exact number .  but it a lot even if it is spread over 400 shares In my case it is 11/400 x 5.6 btc

that is a minimum of .154 btc .

I made good money with dZcoop  but if we keep this r9-r12 together we need a plan for the btc shortage.  every day we stick to mining we have a shortfall of 800gh so the next order of business needs to be addressing this.

I middled my excess of hash power by selling off all my addiction shares. then cashing out.  I can stick to mining here but we need a plan for the lost hash.

as for the $14 I went off what im seeing now.

the 222 was a typing mistake. 333 is what i meant.

I have done worse typos..

as for the op  this is not an easy game to get into.  a lot of flat crooks and liars.  people do not know whom to trust.
44312  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: usb on: December 06, 2013, 05:00:29 AM
with a current rate basic calculator. one of those 222MH minors will get you 7-8$ a year.....................................

So you decide if it's worth it.. Smiley at todays cost.rate your 10 years to break even..

These sold for 14$ at launch so the current boom has drivin cost up for the idiots on ebay.

so.. No.

well they did not sell for 14$  at launch  they sold for 250$ in april

and they mine at 333mh not 222mh.

but the rest is  true they are not worth the prices people are asking.  in fact I purchased many as low as $6.90 then the boom hit and the price on them went nuts.

It is really hard to get gh power cheaply unless you spend serious money.     he could buy some here

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=328135.msg3839917#msg3839917

1 share is 41 mh  100 shares are 4-4.1 gh   just about   .135 to .140 btc

which is about   133 usd to 138 usd.

this  may be the best mining  contract he can get.  as it is lifetime  (1-2 years) as long as it hashes in the black.

if he buys today he gets  1gh for about 34 usd .  no work just watch the coins come in.

none of the items you pick are that good.

I will choose to believe you are new.

Next question is how much money are you willing to lose?

do not kid yourself  this is a really high risk market.  that said do you have any questions on how to start?

First get a btc address.

https://blockchain.info/

https://blockchain.info/wallet

once you get this  let us know you have it. takes some time to make one the program needs to be downloaded.

https://blockchain.info/address/1Fo2K52Rz7LZw9fcF5BDdDBjfNaViQ8J3x

this is my address.  once you have that address you can go to a simple mining site like this one.

https://bitminter.com/

you can also go to a site like this one

cex.io

if you click my referral link I get a bonus  or you can join by goggling the site.

all of the above is kind of needed to do.

then you can buy a stick or 2.

here is a link to a pretty good seller he takes paypal

http://ssinc.bigcartel.com/category/bitcoin-mining-equipment

his usb sticks will come in about 5 days and they will hash at 5x to 7 x  that of a bock eruptor  his prices will be lower then ebay.

good luck
44315  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: BitMinter client (Win/Linux/Mac, BFL ASIC, Block Erupter USB) on: December 06, 2013, 04:41:08 AM
did testing  on the beta 1.4.3

you still have an under reporting bug on your bit fury red sticks.

if I run 1 AM stick and 1 Red Fury  (  with windows 7------------any combo of red fury sticks 1 or 2 or 3  has the same problem. each and every red fury is short  about 1gh)

I get about 2.8 gh  in the gui   but my shift reports 1.9 to 2.1

If I run 1 AM stick and 1 red fury  with windows 7   and use bfgminer

it reports 2.7 or 2.8 gh  and my shifts report   2.7 - 2.79

basically your  last 3 beta   clients have under reported the paid shift work on   each red fury about 1 gh.  In comparison to using  bfgminer.

Right now I have held off getting more bit fury gear  since this under reporting  will fool many people that buy gear from me.

I have had to teach  at least a dozen people how to use  bfgminer for the bit fury I sold to them and not use  your java client.  This is holding back hash rates on bitminter. Since many people  like your  simple easy to use gui.
Please let us know when you figure this out.  I will test the next beta for you again.  thanks phil
