With hash fast not delivering as promised on time we should continue mining till we can make reasonable BTC & also BTC going-up is on our side.
Thats what Im thinking. Now is not the time to sell- In fact im actively looking to buy more, both for my company and to possibly GB off.

yeah it is a tough call… but if we hold I am going to sell more of my asic miner sticks.

price of btc has moved so much that today I can sell 5 sticks for 74 bucks  3 days days ago I was selling the same 5 sticks for  54 bucks.

So if we hold and mine here I will list more of the sticks I have on ebay.

Finally had time to mess with this. Got it working into the Bitminter pool by using bfgminer so the device is known to work. Didn't try Bitminter beta again but realized I can run Bitminter on my erupters and bfgminer on my BF1 so running them in tandem for the time being.

I am running 13 BE's  and 1 BF1    the be's are bit minter's java client and the Bf1 is using bfgminer 3.5.1   >  I am hashing at about 2.37 gh    now that I got one set up I decided to buy 3 more.

44644  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: Black Arrow R9-12 threads, DZ Miners Co-op. Plz move ?s and discussion here. on: November 09, 2013, 06:02:17 PM
thank you.

i see it is at 3.35 th or so.    and I see we are at 14 plus btc.  now it is early in the morning in NJ.  I know we were not at half power from the first day up to now.  we were a better then half power on avg.  if we were half power we would be short 14 coins..  So I know the compensation is under 14 coins. I also know it is more then 5 coins since we average less then 75% power.

 if we average 50%   14 / .5 = 28 we are owed 14 coins.    if we averaged 75%   14 / .75 = 18.67 we are owed 4.67 coins.

So we are owed less then   14 coins and more then 4.67 coins.      I am sure some one can get the right number   in the next few days.

BTW  BTC is 342 usd at coin base

I will be compensating the GB's for a total of 7 BTC to be added to the payout pool, to be paid out the 15th.

Based on my number of lost coins and that the hashrate started at 33% and ramped up to ~80 till yesterday, I think 7 coins is fair. Please let me know what yall think of this, I am open to ideas. Now this is in addition to no hosting fees till Dec 15th. I cant thank yall for being patient with me, been a long trip.

7 is close enough thanks!

If we sold one for 8-8.5 k spilt it among the r5-r6 buyers.

keep the better one as one hashes higher then the other.  we would have more then 150% of money paid in in terms of usd.

right now buy 5 has made a cash usd profit of  2600 .. assuming you held the coins.  sell one knc for 8500 and each buy 5 and 6 get 4000 added to the 2600 profit puts us 6600 ahead for each buy and still own the better knc machine.

they sell on ebay and amazon for 10-15 used.

I guess the upside to that though is that us little guys are more geard towards earning cost of equipement back easy compared to those who spend 4k on high end electricity hoging rigs.

Not true.  Asicminer equipment is terribly energy inefficent when compared to almost everything else, save Avalon.

You can verify this here:  http://mining.thegenesisblock.com/  Scroll all the way to the bottom and sort by WATTS/GH

Size doesn't matter.   Cheesy

if the user has a free power situation . 6 sticks hash at 2Gh and use around 20 watts .  not easy to detect 20 watts being used.   also 6 sticks on ebay cost about 75 bucks. an ebay buyer with an ebay discount may pay only 70 bucks for the 6 sticks.     so for 70 bucks they are hashing and spending nothing on power. many dorms will let you do this.

yeah 6 red furys hash at 15gh same power but up front cost on ebay is about 121 each or 726 even with an ebay discount of 20-40 bucks they are a lot to start up.

so for many  asic miner sticks make sense.      if they want to mine at low start up price.
44648  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [OPEN] BTC up, RED FURY down to .35 - USB Miners - USA Group Buy on: November 09, 2013, 03:16:39 PM
I ordered 3 more so far the 1  I have is chugging along at 2.37gh.

These could turn out to be okay. I may order more once I get these 3.
44649  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Bi•Fury | 5+ GH/s USB Miner [FASTEST USB MINER IN THE WORLD] on: November 09, 2013, 03:11:00 PM
so right now it is 178 euro.

 I can get 7gh from cex.io for  .66 btc

if I use mt gox price right now it is 290 eur = 1btc  so  178 / 290  = .613 btc  for 1 of these ……..

Now I am in the USA  zip code =  07731   Howell NJ    you are in EUROPE.     what will you add on for shipping?

we are approaching dividends.

last week we had 142.17 coins earned - 25 btc one time charge = 117 coins - 9.03 coins for hosting = 108.14 coins to be divided up  divide by 334800 was

.000323 a share.  for my 1250 shares I got .40375

https://blockchain.info/address/1AddiCt8ghkH8zwPpcv8W8SxcQEoGTSJFS

this week we are at 85 coins no one time  charge = 85 coins.     hosting will be less then 9.03 coins since BTC jumped a lot.  so hosting may be 6 coins

(a guess).

that would mean we are at 79 coins  divide by  334800 =  .000236 a share    for my 1250 shares  I get .295

that should be higher as we should earn more in the next 24 hours.

in terms of USD        last sundays price per BTC was 218   this Saturdays price is 342.

So in terms of USD  this weeks dividend is better then last weeks.

In my case .40375 btc last week was  88 usd

This weeks .295 btc  equals about 100 usd

The estimated dividend is just that an estimate.   I think it will be more like  .00025 then the .000236 I posted above.

for those that say you should have just purchased BTC and held  you would have made more  fine.  This investment will still show a fiat profit for me  and if it is less then holding btc  I am okay with that. Do not knock profit  even if it is lower then a different profit would have been the bottom line it is still profit.

I like to go bowling I am decent not great.  My avg has been as high as 170 a game and my best game is 234.  Not  a perfect 300 game but it is still a good game.
If this buy ends up decent not great I am fine with that.

It is far better then BFL  534 usd since Jan of 2013 (nothing yet).  or cloudhashing  734 usd in about 200 usd back.

So if I mine at I'll say for sake of argument 1Ghs and some guy is mining 2Ths our shares can be the same based on who finds what. So from what I read there, the bigger miners just have a difficulty advantage for keeping a server stable.

On anoher note, I think for me I'll just keep all the default settings (diificulty etc.) minus the warn threshold I set of 300 per worker / stick which I think is ok for ASIC's advertised at 333.

What is the sway on these things anyway, assuming someone knows. Like I know they will flucuate a few pts from advertised based on temp etc. but to really nail down a problem with a specific ASIC. What would a optimal threshold setting be assuming it's not the 300 I have set assumin a person has good cooling which I'm still thinking on ? I'd hate to lose 4 USB slots / 1.2Ghs just to use 4 USB fans on a 20 port hub.

Edit: Hey Doc, got to thinking... people always say as the dificulty grows that only the big miners will be "profitable" that said. Doesnt what I said before sort of hold true. Since it will come down to upgrade, get out or just live with it ?

your share is 1gh out of 270th .

my share is 44gh out of 270th  so my payout is 44x bigger then your payout.

as to wanting more gh  it all depends on the price you are paying to get it.  and the power that it uses…

blue fury and red fury usb sticks are nice but they cost a lot up front and are hard to setup.

Installation tutorials for compatiable mining software.

How do I know if I need to update my firmware for my redfury? It's currently working but I'm getting a 50% error rate or is that normal for these things?? I'm also using BFGMINER with minepeon

what is hash rate?  if you hash over 2.2gh the error rate is not a problem. if you hash under 2gh it is something to try to fix
44655  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [OPEN] BTC up, RED FURY down to .35 - USB Miners - USA Group Buy on: November 08, 2013, 09:31:59 PM
finally got my stick to work.  I am using bgminer 3.5.1 and bitminter it is hashing at 2.4gh.   i may want more of them.

well thanks to you and bgminer 3.5.1 my red fury is hashing so far I seem to have a good one as I am close to 2.4gh while many are at 2.2gh or less.

thanks again.

the 1123 min. one was from Bitminter yesterday. the confirms today are from me paying out. so this is normal? I have never had a transaction take more than 20 minutes to confirm. I guess the one from bitminter that was stuck from yesterday was holding all the later trans. up. I am good now, they have all confirmed. I was worried something was wrong with the network.

I would think that btc price of 320usd or more has made for more transactions. Think of a person that held coins from Last years price of 10 usd. I would think he is selling now.  I would also think outsiders to btc are buying coins like stock .

  Thanks

    I will try again.

I am inclined to donate it  as second prize in the Nov. contest.   I can tell  that for a prize it is nice,

but that mining  with and selling the rest on ebay  won't be as easy as it was with AM's block eruptors.
44660  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [OPEN] BTC up, RED FURY down to .35 - USB Miners - USA Group Buy on: November 08, 2013, 03:13:51 PM
I have a 49 port hub from block erupter sale. Do you think I can replace a few of my BEs for this red fury? Has anyone tested that? What challenges will I face?

I use the 49 port hub with Blue Fury's.  The BF's will squeeze side by side but too thick to stack them on every row - have to skip a row.
Can you provide some photos? I was considering buying one of the hubs but I didn't think units would fit.

I just wish I could get it to work. I wanted plug n play on bitminter just like a BE  they are far from plug n play.

I can photo for you. you could fit 20 or more  and 20 AM sticks.  giving you 20x 2.2 = 44gh and 20 x .333 = 6gh = 50gh a hub
