45281  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: is cloudhashing.com a scam?? on: August 12, 2013, 11:38:51 AM
Hi All,

If you are one of the few still waiting to receive a payment. We are still waiting on the last couple of customers to update their wallets. Then we will send them all in one batch. We have pretty much ironed out the kinks in our automated payment process. It does usually take a few iterations to get these sort of things sorted.

Thanks for your patience. BTW we are now at 1.2 terahash. Another BFL minirig should be with us shortly. As I promised in this video

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vqOx3O09ol4

We will continue to go to the open market to purchase mining equipment to satisfy our customers if delays from BFL persist. This is what we said we would do, and this is what we are doing. We purchase these BFL mining rigs off Ebay & IRC, period!

<<<<< I do not comment on conjecture >>>>>

Kind regards

The BFL Minirig purchased a while back by Cloudhashing is a 1500 (1.5 Th) gig unit.

Seems as though CH is about 300 Gigs short in their public statements regarding how much hashing power they have........................................................

https://products.butterflylabs.com/1500gh-bitcoin-miner.html

http://mineforeman.com/2013/04/05/butterfly-labs-increases-prices-and-decreases-hash-rates-on-the-asic-bitcoin-mining-devices/

or bfl gave them 2 new mini rigs at 500gh each or 1th since bfl could not build a 1.5th minirig.

this means bfl owes them a third  new mini rig to get to 1.5th/  so if my guess is correct CH will jump to 1.7th soon.

the other 200-300 th   may be some avalon or bfl singles

Okay I have a great ebay record 1200 plus perfect feedbacks. I have sold about 40 sticks on ebay. Today I sold 27 sticks at 53 bucks a piece based on the  new price of 29.50 usd a stick = .31 btc .  my profit was just about 23  a stick. after fees about 19 a stick.

I  think that  if the Canary becomes a drop shipper for me it would be a good deal.

Upside is I have a prebuilt stellar name as a seller and the work is less with him drop shipping. I could sell a shitload of sticks at a low price .

making 20  to 30 bucks on 3 sticks works for me since I have no workload vs making 57 bucks and doing all the work.

Downside is  I piss off a lot of other sellers with lowball prices.  Not sure I want to do that.

I need to sit back and think about the ebay idea carefully.
This isn't anything new, Amazon can do the same for you guys.... At higher cost and you'd have to ship inventory to them.
And you shouldn't cut your price to the bone, you have to watch the market and maximize your profits...
And there's that whole thing about having inventory issue that pops up sometimes Smiley
Plan accordingly.

you have been a great seller .   so this idea has a lot of merit for me. I am going to weigh my options carefully over the next few days.
45283  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [OPEN] batch #20/21 .31 - .35 btc for USB miners & 10.25 blades - USA only on: August 12, 2013, 04:02:18 AM
Please excuse me for asking this here but I want the recommendations of those that are actually mining, buying mining equipment.

I need BTC, lots of them, so I can make BE buys with Canary.  Problem is this will be my first BTC buy ever so I want to deal with the very best among, to my knowledge, not many very good choices.
How hard can it be to find a relatively, in crypto-currency terms, established, reliable party to accept my cash or cash equivalents and convert them to BTC in a reasonable amount of time at a reasonable fee, exchange rate?   I understand that people want to deal in BTC which helps us all by supporting the value of BTC but if you can't reliably buy them you have to mine them; you can't mine them without mining equipment which you buy with BTC.  A Catch-22.

If you were going to buy BTC, where would you buy them?  Coinbase, Camp BX, ??

Thanks for your input.

you are the new guy so buying btc will be slow. coinbase is okay order from them the first order takes a week. during that week no more orders allowed.  so order enough since you can not order for a week.  after they pay your first order you can order 10 coins a day every day but wait a week for each new shipment.  then after 30 days you can order 50 coins a day short wait 1 to 6 hours.

for now  if you want to test  buy a stick or 2 .
some are on ebay for under 50 usd.
I resold 27 on ebay today at 53 a stick.

I do not have any to sell and will mine with what I have.

forgot a good trick for counting sticks.
start 3
skip 3
start 3
skip 3

3 sticks = 1gh

6 sticks = 2gh

9 sticks = 3gh

12 sticks = 4gh

After playing with gear tonight I am now running 80 sticks on 1 machine.

the first piece of gear is this

http://usb.brando.com/usb-20-port-hub_p03123c039d015.html

it will run 10 sticks and 6 hubs of 10 sticks so that is 70 sticks

I have 6 of these plugged int the above 20 port gear I have the other 4 ports empty. I use the better power brick. I linked to.

http://www.amazon.com/Aitech-Adapter-backward-Compatible-aluminum/dp/B009NESU4M/ref=pd_cp_pc_1

   I use this mobo

http://www.amazon.com/LGA1155-USB3-0-Mini-ITX-Motherboard-Z77E-ITX/dp/B007RS71O6/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1376277717&sr=1-1&keywords=asrock+z77+itx

I plug into the 2 usb 2.0 jacks in back of the board.  So that is 70 sticks.

I plugged 2  of these 7 port  hubs

 http://www.amazon.com/ViewHD-Professional-Premium-Quality-Chipset/dp/B00B59BFVI/ref=sr_1_2?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1376277811&sr=1-2&keywords=viewhd+7+port

I use the 2 back usb 3.0 ports   I can only use 14 usb 3 sticks with this board so I use the 2x 7 port hubs...

I am at 80 sticks but I could run 4 more for sure or 84 sticks..

I think that is the max on this mobo due to hub limits.

Still 80 sticks and 320 watts with the screen turned off is a money maker for now.

Are you saying that if there is a problem fetching work from the server, then you have to reboot the computer to get BitMinter client hashing on your block erupters again? It should just start hashing again after it is able to get new work.

Have you tried setting automatic rescanning of the ports every minute or so? Does that help? I mean, instead of restarting the client to detect more devices.

Sometimes I see hash rate drop a little, sometimes entirely.  When entirely happens it takes ages to get the miners up and running again.

I have tried all settings, I actually don't think this function works of rescanning either manually or automatically in the settings.

Another useful feature would be to count connected miners as when this happens I have to manually count them each time to see if connected.

Any help on this truly appreciated.  I'm on Win 7 running latest Bitminter.

Setup for a lot of sticks is tricky.

What is your pc? (mobo if it is diy)

What are your hubs?

most hubs have an inadequate power brick.
A 10 port hub is better off with a 12v 6 amp brick.
No hub comes with that brick.
most 10 port hubs have a 12 volt 4 amp or a 12 volt 5 amp brick.  I tested a shit load of hubs.

the best one in terms of  stock brick watts to ports is this one

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00B59BFVI/ref=oh_details_o01_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1  it has a 12 volt 4 amp brick or 48 watt to 7 port or 6.857 watts to 1 port

here is one with 10 ports and the same brick

http://www.amazon.com/Aitech-Adapter-backward-Compatible-aluminum/dp/B009NESU4M/ref=sr_1_1_m?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1376240347&sr=1-1&keywords=orico+usb+3.0

so that  is 48 watts by 10 or 4.8 watts a port.

next is a root hub rule   what the f is that rule  simple chaining of ports has a limit of 5 hubs

   1st hub is the plug

2nd hub is  the first hub you attach >>>>>>>>>>>> lets say 10 jacks - 1 to chain  = 9

3rd hub is the hub you plug into the first  hub lets say 10 jacks - 1 to chain  = 9

4th hub is the one that plugs into that  lets say 10 jacks - 1 to chain = 9

5th hub would be the one that plugs in to the fourth 10 jacks = 10 total of 37 sticks to one plug    may not do this depends on your mobo may only do 3 hubs or 9 + 9 =10 = 28 to a jack

I did find a good brick for the 10 port hubs

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000VE7GQQ/ref=oh_details_o05_s01_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

has more available power for a 10 port hub.

so let us say   you have 6x  10 port hubs  with better bricks then stock.  you get a 56 stick pc.

restart is power off via the screen power button lower left windows screen.   turn off all hubs.  then boot back.  once the windows screen comes up power on all the hubs.

then call bitminter up via windows 7 using  the explorer  browser sign in  go to the bitminter button engine start press it. click the accept for the risk question then wait for the 56 sticks to come up.  takes me about 10 minutes to do 84 sticks on 2 machines
45287  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: ASIC misfortune: Anker Uspeed USB-hub broke down. on: August 11, 2013, 04:37:04 PM
Rig is down again, since about 50 minutes ago  Angry  I'm at work so I can't check it out, hopefully it was a short power outage and not a dual Anker hub faliure (which seems unlikely). Other theories: home internet is down, or there was a break-in and somebody stole all my stuff, or my housemates went into my room and turned off my rig.

Edit: Up and running again! It was actually the SSD on my computer that messed up, for unknown reasons. "No bootable disk" etc. I took out the msata SSD and put in again, booted up with no problem and we're back on 4 GH/s, living the dream.

if you turn the pc off and back on too quickly.   msata some times needs to have 0 power for 1 hour to reset (crucial 256gb)

you may have bad psu for the ankers.  buy one of these for backup

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000VE7GQQ/ref=oh_details_o05_s01_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

this has a bit more overhead

also run 8 sticks and 1 fan if the room temp is high.

A question on the label I sent.  I paid for a usps priority mail medium flat rate box.

So far I ordered 30 sticks.  I know a medium flat rate  box can fit  60 sticks with room to spare 2 layers of 3 boxes.
I have enough coin to order 30 more sticks.

If I buy 30 more sticks I am guessing you would toss the 60 sticks in the one box.

My question is  Can it do the third layer and fit 90 sticks?

If it can   I would push to dig up the coins to get the order up to the 90. If not I will just order the extra 30 to go to 60 sticks.  Thanks phil
Yes, you can have 90 in a flat rate medium box

thanks I just sent  9.3 btc for the second set of 30 sticks   I am at 60 sticks as of now.

All payments from the same btc address.

below is info for second set of 30 sticks

45290  Economy / Securities / Re: Cloudhashing ASIC mining contracts, UK LTD company - Now Mining & Paying Bitcoin on: August 11, 2013, 11:40:48 AM
Is cloudhashing offering refunds?  Has anyone tried?

I have to say I a sick to the back teeth of this company.  I was an early adopter and have not seen anything that convinces me this is a legitimate company.

At first I put it down to teething trouble as every company has them from time to time.  For months on end I could not log in as there were login issues.  Once I could finally log in I couldn't add a wallet address.
When I finally managed to add a wallet address, it mysteriously disappeared and I had to email it to them.  I haven't had a pay out yet despite this supposedly occurring on 11th Aug - 3 days ago!!
I tried replying to a support ticket to find the website is not working.
They're supposedly running at 10% capacity - no forward planning with respect to relying on BFL!!
The company is supposed to be offering a 25% increase on hash rate for July customers - guess what I've seen no evidence of that yet.
The company is not very open with respect to how  much hashing power I am currently getting - there are no stats page so we can see who's getting what.  This should have happened around 04 July time as of yet, I haven't found anything.

I've been patient and allowed the trouble to be sorted out but it's one thing after another after another.  They way things are going, there will be no return - the only one profiting is cloudhashing themselves.

I since found out the founder of cloushashing is an senior IT developer  - I think this is beginning to smell of scam.  Is he a poor IT developer making lots of money?  I'm not profiting, I wonder who is?

Off to seek legal advise.  Be warned anyone thinking of investing in this company.

A)Website is working

B)Today is Aug 11th I was sent .106 BTC on AUG 6th

C)I have a stats page with my hashpower listed and my total payments so far.

D) You are correct that this is not the most organized company.

E)25% hash jump is due Sept

F)My investment is 7.2 BTC  My collection so far is .106 btc

I have a lot of ground to make up  next payment is due  Aug 20th.

I will no longer make any positive or negative remarks about this company.

I will continue to report the payments they give to my BTC address So any investor can make a choice  to invest or not invest.

By using Info provided about  the money in and the money back to a typical investment with cloudhashing

soy

 I told them the 12th.
If he ships later it is not a problem but he can't ship earlier.

so it you put the 14th he would need to wait.  I put the 12th as it is monday's date.

at  keeron ;

I have about 80 sticks they are a bit hard to manage but I could run 100 sticks before I have too many. I could sell a pair or 2  on ebay.

  I would think 120 -130 a pair would still sell/

At Eliden ;

the lights are cool running a lot right now

at reactor ;  price is making it hard to decide at 9btc the blade would be an easy choice  decisions.

 lastly at the Canary I.T.M.  ;

you fucking rock man!  thank God some has the brains to ship the shit out fast at a halfway decent price!
45297  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [OPEN] batch #20 .31 - .35 btc on: August 10, 2013, 08:47:40 AM
hmm a blade for 12btc  or 30 sticks for  9.3 - 10.5 btc    not sure what deal I would want.

The 30 sticks mean more hubs. Once hub price is tossed in 3 hubs are 2btc.  so the blade is a  bit cheaper. I need to decide what to buy.
45298  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [16 TH/s] BitMinter.com [ASIC support: var diff, Stratum, GBT, rollntime] on: August 09, 2013, 01:00:45 PM
Bfl moved a lot of mini rigs.  the network is over 400th  it has pushed up more then 120th in the last 12 days. a lot of that is from bfl. while asic miner sells the usb sticks like mad they are only at 21000 - 30000  sticks  about 7 to 10 th.

most of the hash uptick has been from bfl.

even if avalon fully shipped all it units from batches 1 2 and 3 I think that is  a max of 20th plus 20th plus 39th or a total of 80th. Asic miner has about 40th hashing.   So 80th plus 40th plus 10 th is 130 th.  whatever asic miner sold in blades say 70 th = 200th not bfl.  lets say people have gpus on line 25th is now 225th so that means bfl may have put out 200th in gear.

Fefox, grats on the TH!

Thanks Phantom! noticed you must have got a couple more yourself (so congrats back). how long was it from the time you got your first shipment to the second?

and someone needs to make a food dehydrator attachment for these things Smiley

hopefully a few more people get some and minter hits 20Gh this weekend Smiley

better not hit 20 gh this weekend.  Either  auto correct or a typo you meant 20Th.

I made 3 coupons for 3 buys.
I wonder if I will get 3 numbers and 3 boxes or just one shipping.
