45121  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [closed][Groupbuy] !NEW batch KNCMiner - 8 sold! SOLD OUT on: September 04, 2013, 10:33:33 PM
knc news:

"delivery towards end of september"

Please, knc, do NOT become another bfl!!!

well that is very bad thought to begin.
but since I am still waiting on my bfl I know where you are coming from.
I can live with a short delay lets say up and running by oct 10th or sooner. It would help out my aisc miner usb sticks that are mining in my garage. but a long 60 or 75 day delay would be hard to take.
45122  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: is cloudhashing.com a scam?? on: September 04, 2013, 10:24:48 PM
My account says I will be paid .211 btc today.  not sure what percent that is.  so far I have been paid

 .106 btc  aug 9
 .172 btc  aug 23
 .211 btc  today

comes to .489 btc so far.  or about 59 usd on todays btc price at coinbase.  i paid in 717 usd in june
45123  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [19 TH/s] BitMinter.com [ASIC support: var diff, Stratum, GBT, rollntime] on: September 04, 2013, 08:59:38 PM
Im invested in bitcoin. I saw bitcoin on Max Keiser show. That is what caused me to find the mining world. I am new to mining, I have 6 usb stick already. I run my system on solar power. (like free) Im looking in to the cointerra, but im thinking December is to long to wait. Plus if they don't ship on time (like bfl). So it mite not be the time to go big, but if I dont go now, will their ever be a better time? the diff increase (wont last) will hurt the profit. we talking months or years of 30% per month???

We just don't know what the future difficulty increases will be. But I would think that it will plateau out at some point. The introduction of ASICs created a gold rush effect. Those that got them early enough made back their money and some. Now there are lots of pre-orders being delivered so the hash rate will continue to rise. There is little point ordering now so the hash rate rise should slow when that filters through to delivery. That's just my opinion but I think the boat sailed long ago on making any profit so I'm not buying more kit but I'm keeping on mining for a bit of a hobby with a few USB sticks.

yeah it is not the time to buy 10's of thousands (usd) worth of gear.   Put in a finger or 2  to test the pudding for taste.

I am in a better spot as I made a bit of coins due to the doctor's good bitminter client.
45124  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [19 TH/s] BitMinter.com [ASIC support: var diff, Stratum, GBT, rollntime] on: September 04, 2013, 06:40:42 PM
is the diff really going up that fast/ it seam like the tech wont pay for its self.

please comment

maybe maybe not.  hard to tell since the 30% jumps are coming fast and heavy it is scary to think beyond 30-60 days.

but 30% jumps don't inspire confidence in the tech paying off.

30% jumps will not be forever they will level off  question is when.

EPOCH has a point about getting into mining vs other btc moves..

If you are really new.  I suggest 2 moves  get some coins and hold them.  Say 2-5 coins

and get a few sticks a hub and a fan mine on bitminter.   Buy 6 sticks from a seller like this

http://www.ebay.com/itm/PREORDER-USB-ASIC-MINER-Block-Erupter-333MH-Bitcoin-BTC-Mining-/261274881085?pt=CPUs&hash=item3cd5324c3d

not me I am holding my sticks and mining.

get a hub like this
http://www.amazon.com/ViewHD-Professional-Premium-Quality-Chipset/dp/B00B595GK4/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1378319795&sr=8-1&keywords=viewhd+usb+hub

get a fan like this

http://www.amazon.com/ARCTIC-USB-Powered-Portable-Cooling-Solution/dp/B003XN24GY/ref=pd_bxgy_pc_img_z

you are at 180 for the sticks and 60 for the hub fan  not the cheapest hub but the most reliable hub out there.  so you spent 240usd   for a set it and forget it 2gh of hash.  many will say buy the btc and hold so buy 2 btc and hold cost of 260 if you buy from coinbase.

do both you are at 500 spent.  with everything in hand.  and no more to lose.
45125  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [19 TH/s] BitMinter.com [ASIC support: var diff, Stratum, GBT, rollntime] on: September 04, 2013, 06:27:55 PM
would someone post some figures from a 10gh blade? how many day currently is it taking 10ghs to make one coin?

10.1 gh for 10 days at a diff of 87 mill will make .59 coins

10.1 gh for 10 days at a diff of 113 mill will make .45 coins

10.1 gh for 10 days at a diff of 147 mill will make  .34 coins

so this is a 30 day projection of coins earned for the next 30 days at 30% diff jumps.   sooner or later the 30% jumps will level off  but as to when that happens Huh

Think you're off by a decimal point there. It'd be 0.059BTC, 0.045, 0.034, etc.

no I did 10 day estimates not 1 day estimates.

Thanx for the info. I realy want in on this. I may have to take some night classes to improve my skills.

It looks to me these blade are the way to go as far as price. also it looks to me that most of the other tech is not shipping yet. or has a waiting list.

I think blades will soon be the new sticks if one wants any chance of keeping up with diff increases and total network hashing power.  That is the current view from this extreme neophyte.  Would like to hear the thoughts of the experienced miners regarding the long term(2-3 months) viability of a stick mining rig.

sticks have plus marks and down marks.
plus
1) easy setup
2)low cost to buy in for a few
3)small

down
1)low hash
2)messy if you do 100 sticks
3)about 105 stick max for a pc. your mobo is the key  to how many you can do.

I think the sticks will not be viable by early spring or late winter.
 feb-march.

as for a temp 2-3 month setup  with usb sticks yeah  you can go for it.  just don't bet the farm.
45128  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [OPEN] batch #23/24 .18 btc ASICMiner USB + 4 btc NEW Blade miners on: September 04, 2013, 05:04:57 PM
Sorry to add noise... Smiley

Any shipment to EU for the new blades would be available from you, Canary?!
..I know there is an EU reseller too, but 5.5BTC each New Blade seems "a bit" excessive to me... ... Wink

So, I'm interested in buying 3 NEW blades, if someone could provide to me a FAIR price as yours!

Tell me, please, if you could ship them here!!! Smiley

Thank you in advance & best regards!
-anykeywhy-
I think you're not comparing apples to apples. In EU you have VAT which adds to cost then you have consumer protection laws that add to cost. So the "price" is same/similar.  you can thank your politicians fir that, as we do ours, by keep viting in those who promise you something for nothing. so now, pay up and slave on! We don't have these 2 components in US per se. Yxt is the designated reseller for EU. Please contact him.  Also, non -EU resellers who ignore the structure setup by friedcat, eventually will get a visit from US customs and they will want them to register and operate as an exporter. I'm not interested in that because prices will skyrocket...

THIS exactly why I stopped selling upgraded mac minis to Europe. I was unable to effectively deal with vat issues/import issues. I could sell 1000 usd  dollar killer machine and unless I lie about value the import/vat was over 300 on the machine. I was not willing to lie  so that was the end of shipping to Europe.

 not good.

Hey,

Payments will be processed within 12 hours. A mixture of technical issues and illness delayed us this time.

Thanks guys

Kind regards
thanks for up date

If you can setup your own blades and run them you don't need cloudhashing as of today. If cloudhashing gets the  hash power they say that they will get. you can reconsider. my experience so far is 717 usd paid in and 36 usd paid back. Still waiting for todays payment.  I have not freaked out since I run 75-110 usb sticks at 25 to 37 th at my home. I prefer that.

Thanks! Agree that if one can run the blades themselves, there's probably no need for a service a like this (for them atleast). Unless it starts to break even or make more by hosting elsewhere.

It is almost like the group buy threads here where a large mining hardware is purchased and hosted elsewhere. Except this one was more "formal" (assuming this isn't a scam).

Your numbers would probably freak me out Smiley (usd paid vs received), but seeing those USB miners flash away would probably ease that stress back. That must be quite a mining "farm"!
damn auto correct that is 37gh not 37th LOL

yeah and knc is supposed to drop 1000th in gear in the next 2 months plus a lot more hashpower is coming out.  Last week we got close to 850th in hash (estimated)

I would think that 2000th is possible by  Nov. 1   =  about 180 diff.

I also think that 3000th in hash may be true by feb.1  = about 270 diff.

price of btc   will have some affect on how much mining gear gets purchased and put into use.

100 am  usb sticks  hash at 33gh about 400 watts at 18 cents a k watt  and  a diff of 87 mill and a price of 130 usd btc.

they make about 2 coins in 10 days  a profit of about 230 usd  after power (not counting purchase price).

but make diff 200 mill   and you earn .83 coins and a net of about 90 usd after power but not counting purchase price.

so at a diff of 87 mill and a price of 130 usd a btc the sticks look good.
at a diff of 200 mill and a price of 130 usd a btc the sticks do not look good.

but jack price to 200 usd a btc and sticks still look good. for me playing with the sticks has been okay. I sold off about 125 on ebay low margins but a little made on each stick.  so my cost for the 75 sticks on hand has been low.

I would like a better piece of gear like a knc miner and may get one down the road. I would wait to see if one comes out with no preorder time. my bfl orders are still waiting waiting waiting

Holy sh... what happen to the difficulty !
wow +21 000 000 !!!

yeah 32%  that may happen again and again  and again.  I think we are looking at 200 mill diff by oct-nov.

am usb sticks may lose out this year rather then next.  I am hoping for a raise in btc price but only time will tell since a btc price rise is not certain.

yeah I made out well with my gpu farm and have sold it off. i went with 6 or 7 different hash ideas including this one.

BFL ranks last  514 usd in 0 back
then this         717 usd in 36 back.

but the usb sticks the gpu farm and AM stock did really well.

45135  Economy / Securities / Re: Cloudhashing ASIC mining contracts, UK LTD company - Now Mining & Paying Bitcoin on: September 04, 2013, 01:39:34 AM
Anyone brought the platinum contract? Was just looking into this and while the lack of payments (or delays), as well as no definite date on when the hashing starts is concerning, here my thoughts:

- For about $1000, we get 20 GHs
- This is similar to me buying 2 AsicMiner blades for 8 BTC (Group buy, probably in-had this week itself). 8 BTC @ $130 = $1040
- Setting up the blades isn't that hard
- Electricity costs / shipping would probably be offset by the 10% fees I end up paying each period to CloudHashing
- I lose out on the re-investment, but that is also possible on my own (and with AM dropping the older blade prices in future, this is very much something I can do on my own). Heck, even buying one USB erupter every couple of weeks would work. Adding ~350 MHs

There is less risk of a 3rd party running away, late starts, mining at low hash rate (e.g. 50%).

Would love to hear from someone who has brought the higher level contracts (gold/platinum) and what your experience has been.

If this was something like $500 for the 20 GH, it might be worth considering.

45136  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER: Entering the Future of ASIC Mining by Inventing It on: September 04, 2013, 12:29:00 AM
Depends what "do the job well" means.

These guys are going straight for 28nm.

good for them. However friedcat obviously has much more experience with creating chips and devices for bitcoin mining. I would sooner trust Avalon or Asicminer to create new chip before KnCMiner and Cointerra and Hashfast since they have never created bitcoin mining ASIC chip before.

Making a functional ASIC is not excessively complicated. The complex part is the optimization.  I think you'll find it is really FC's team that lacks experience here, having designed only one chip - I quote, from AnandTech,

Quote
Ravi’s focus at SARC was on the CPU Mid-Core, including integer execution and special purpose registers

Being the chief architect on CPU mid-cores at one of the biggest consumer electronics companies in the world makes this guy far more qualified than a team of guys in China that made one simple chip at an archaic process node.

The hardware and boards should be the easy part, given the preponderance of existing packaging companies to partner with (at least for anyone with connections in the industry).

Point is - you should recognize FC has one year of direct experience and this guy has decades of related experience.

this will be settled very soon knc and the other players will have the gear out soon and am will suffer.  or knc and the rest will have delays and am will do okay.

To quote "bfl just give it 2 weeks time will tell".
45137  Economy / Securities / Re: Cloudhashing ASIC mining contracts, UK LTD company - Now Mining & Paying Bitcoin on: September 04, 2013, 12:20:37 AM

45138  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [OPEN] batch #23/24 .18 btc ASICMiner USB + 4 btc NEW Blade miners on: September 03, 2013, 09:58:57 PM
Working on getting shipments out, working through backlog, so it's just not feasible to get Everything out today... will do my best, fifo method..

USB miners are in stock

@Canary (or anyone able to answer this) - Do you confirm successful orders (probably through email)? Or should I just assume if I don't hear anything from you that I correctly formatted my email with the right info along with posting necessary info in this thread?  (This is my first time ordering with the new system of providing a shipping label and signed message through email instead of PM.)

track your label you know its number . as of now my label does not show acceptance. only that it was created. so my guess is by 10:00 pm it will hit the system.  common time is 5pm to 10 pm for a label to show up.
45139  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Block Erupter Blade (New Model)]Low Price, Limited Quantity on: September 02, 2013, 07:16:23 PM
should it be any different now?  Spare me your sanctimonious crap, it's still highway robbery.

Come on dude, it's not like you are forced to buy these.  If you don't like the deal, you just don't buy.  Nobody robs you.

Everyone says they need to inform the clueless about BFL's practices.  I am only doing the same about these.  If you shout down the logic you are condoning the practice of ripping people off for profit.  If people have been warned and still buy, then there is nothing I can do but say "I warned you".

All I ask is you mention the btc price needs to rise or the blades are a long term fail.  btc was 85 usd in early aug it is now 131 usd these are coinbase prices So in 1 month price rose 55 %..    so in

one month btc price    will be    203 usd.
two months btc price   will be   314 usd.
three months btc price will be   486 usd.
then  753   usd
then  1167 usd      in 5 months

why not coins were 10 bucks last year   jumped all the way to 240 and now are 131   so 10 x 13 = 130    they are 13 fold in price from a year ago today 13 x 131 = 1700usd a btc

please if you want to argue diff going up mention btc price going up.  or for that matter going down.
