45242  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [OPEN] for large ASICMiner orders 500+ for USB stick miners and 50+ for blades on: August 18, 2013, 12:06:33 PM
a 500 stick order is hard for me. I have ordered about 150s stick so far. my biggest order was 70 sticks. very hard to get past 70-100 sticks at a time for me.

45244  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [CLOSED] batch #20/21 .31 - .35 btc for USB miners & 10.25 blades - USA only on: August 18, 2013, 02:56:21 AM
I setup 13 more of the sticks all good. I think I have 27 more to setup.  I am hashing at 30gh   all good sticks running right around 330-336 each,   It is nice to have a good hash rate.  I also sold 10 more sticks on the bay. I do not make that much on them but selling about 1/3 of the sticks purchased has lowered my roi a lot
45245  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [CLOSED] batch #20/21 .31 - .35 btc for USB miners & 10.25 blades - USA only on: August 17, 2013, 06:12:05 PM
My package came today.

I opened  it  and have checked 3 of the 7 boxes of ten.  I set the 30 sticks to hash today .  So these 30 sticks work...   Will check the other 4 boxes later today.

So far I have received more then 130 sticks from him that I have checked out only one did not work for me.  He handled the dud with a replacement stick on a later order.  I have to say the sticks seem to be well built as the failure rate for me has been under 1%.    I am now pushing 79 sticks. I have 43 more to setup which will have me hashing at 40gh or so. I can finally stop purchasing for a bit and get back to hashing.

Seems we got 61.99 in the balance already, if I haven't read wrong Smiley great!

the group buy address is here:

it shows 61.99 btc as of 9:40 am eastern standard time.
45247  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: .10 promotion from ASICMiner distribution by CanaryInTheMine on: August 17, 2013, 12:11:40 PM
I don't think Canary has done anything wrong, I was just asking if there was any word on more coupons. Give the man a break and stop bitching.
If this was directed towards me.. you may think Canary has done nothing wrong but I know he has done nothing wrong and trust him 100% as you can see by my giving him +2 trust under his name.

I was merely pointing out that I felt Friedcat / AM didn't handle  this coupon in a very fair way and also pointed out that while some that bought at the 1.99btc AND .99 levels are still waiting while others  that did buy at the 1.99btc level got coupons for the .10 depending on who you bought from because of the volume they had sold.
I think canary handled this very well (as always). Regarding AM i believe a combination of "lost in translation" and GB leaders jumping the gun has lead to the above. Having read some of the other threads it has been a shambles, and will probably get worse with another batch of coupons. They just didn't hold back and think it through.

Alright, this is the actual final update of night:

cypherdoc says this will be a Mid Tower Form Factor. Also, word is: if they have to send chips, supposedly we'll be able to build systems easily & cheaply! Building systems. building systems...hey anyone know a guy that can build a server?  Wink   Grin  Cheesy

sounds like you!  now we wait.  reminds me of the Navy "Hurry up and wait!" was a much used motto.

Wow! You guys are gonna love this! I've counted & recounted & recounted &...

anyhow in all the excitement, we seem to still have *FOUR* more shares available! Even with outstanding payments there still seems to be 4 shares still open with all the soft reserves & bending like bamboo w/ PayPal to get 'er done.

Will update first post & owner list below but yeah...4 more left! Smiley

Sounds like some one will come up with more.  I do have 3 coins on hand as a temp loan to the escrow account.

Hi phillipma1957,

Thank you! And welcome aboard!

John K. has listed the Escrowed Group Buy Account wallet address above (he's probably going to be too busy to contact everyone individually):

1KWAtXU2tNEUGpB7ksi4fEumJeXqZDCfdA

Please send a signed message, if possible, (Send Money / Custom) from your Blockchain wallet so that John can keep track of your payment:

A good template for your custom signed message to John K. would be something like:

For DZ HF/CT Group Buy, x shares, x BTC

... never used it but all my 10 port hubs with 10 sticks using a 12 volt 4 amp brick killed the bricks after 2 weeks of run time.  I have a lot of spare 12 volt 5amp bricks and they worked great.  Your gear is 12 volt 3 amp but the markings or ratings are not what count.  for all I know my 12 volt 4amp bricks were less then your 12 volt 3amp brick.  I have found this brick works well

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000VE7GQQ/ref=oh_details_o05_s01_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1   I have 1 of these

as does this one

http://www.power-guide.com/pdf/SPU50.pdf    meanwell spu50-3

I can't find these any more I have 8 or 9 from other projects these are very good if you can find them.
these usb miners draw 5V x 0.5A each, so the total draw is 2.5VA.  if the brick is really a 12V 3A then it can output 36VA, which is plenty of power for 10 usb miners (2.5VA x 10 = 25VA).  that is assuming the brick is really rated at that.

the math you are doing is wrong.    A 3amp 12 volt brick can do 3 x 12 or 36 watts output.   (max in theory)   ruining gear 24/7/365  you should not exceed 80% of the max rating   so 80% of 36 watts is 28,8 watts.   10 sticks pull about 25 watts.  So it looks good as 25 watts is less then 28.8 watts.    But the brick is at 12 volts the sticks at 5 volts this means the 12vdc is ruduced to 5vdc...     so 28.8 at 90 percent  is   25.92 watts          all these numbers show me that the brick would burn up in 24/7/365 use with 10 sticks in less then a month......  Of course the only way to know this is to test it since no one knows the real rating of the brick...

in the meantime   I found some very good replacement bricks    they are relabeled meanwell spu50-3  bricks.

I found them on ebay they give 12 volts at 5 amps and would run any 10 port brick endlessly.  I ordered 6 bricks today.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/161084703940?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649

he will mail them to me in a few days .  I will get back with a report on these bricks.

BRILLIANT IDEA!!! I have been having problems with underpowered USB hubs ever since I started with some USB ASIC Eruptors.... Instead of replacing / Trying another type of hub THIS is a GREAT first STEP... Just replace the POWER SUPPLY!!!   BRILLIANT IDEA... Anyone having a prob with USB hubs should Definitely TRY THIS FIRST...  great Idea... digeros  PS this guys is charging $12 shipping BTW???

I know people who did that to cheap USB 2.0 HUBS and it did not go well...
I use these hubs with 10 port usb 3.0 from orico and aitech  both of which are good hubs  but they had 4 amp 12 volt  bricks that burned up.  here are the hubs that I have

these hubs are rock solid with the mean well spu50-3 bricks I have on hand.   the seller I linked has a perfect clone (i hope) When I get them  i will get back here.  I am very familiar with the mean well bricks I even know how to open them to adjust voltage.     the sell sold 6 bricks for 60 bucks plus 16 to ship
45257  Economy / Securities / Re: Cloudhashing ASIC mining contracts, UK LTD company - Now Mining & Paying Bitcoin on: August 15, 2013, 07:56:43 PM
If I join now, when will the contract start? Are you still waiting for the hardware's?

he is selling sept contracts

https://www.cloudhashing.com/contracts

he is at partial hash power and he hopes to be at full hash power in sept.

now most of his order is from KNC and knc links are here

https://twitter.com/kncminer
https://www.kncminer.com/news/news-28

so if you wait a few days you will be sure that knc has built a working machine and will really deliver them in sept.

so why not clock knc bitcoin mining  for a week to be sure they built real gear.

Cloud hashing was delayed  by bfl as   bfl was very slow with gear to the entire btc world.  this slowed up cloudhashing.

I have a july contract I paid about 700 usd and I have collected about 11 usd.  I am hoping for a little better the 11 usd the 20th of aug.

I no longer judge this site as good or bad.

I just attempt to give the info I know. Along with the result of the 700usd I put into this company.

I just kept buying more AM usb sticks.  it is more hash and at .93btc for 1gh not a terrible price.

You mean 0.325btc? Wink

The luck graph here:
https://bitminter.com/stats/luck
seems a bit skewed lately...  Undecided

I get my sticks at .31 btc 3 sticks are .93btc and just  about   1gh in hash. Still managing a 54 stick farm soon to be a 124 stick farm is not too easy.

 A lot better then 22 gpus and 11 pc's.

BFL was so slow to ship I ended up with the usb sticks.

I paid  .95 btc each  for 36 of them

I paid .15btc for 30 of them.

 I paid .31btc for 70 of them.

And the other 34 prices as high as  145 dollars and as low as 48 dollars.   I purchased 170 all told and sold  44?   that comes out to 126 left and I have 124 so I am off by 2 on my count.

I have a 3/31 Jalapeno that I did recently upgrade to 7 and I'm pretty sure by the time it gets to me I might be able to use it to warm a mug of coffee. That was a serious jump and we currently seem to be without WhitePhantom and CloudHashing  Undecided
Is that just firmware ?

No, I purchased the chip upgrade to 7Gh/s. I believe the firmware you're talking about is what is allowing people with 7Gh/s units to hash near or at 8Gh/s. Which still won't be worth a darn by the time is actually arrives.
Or ... those with 5.4GH/s to do 8.1GH/s ... as I did.
http://www.kano-kun.net/?p=70

The upper limit depends on the chips in your Jalapeno ... but no, the point of that is to go from 5GH/s up to higher rates ... like 8GH/s

The one Jalapeno-overclocking thread I read was pretty good. I would love to do it, but considering I don't have any of the equipment (and little experience actually dealing with electronics) I don't think I'd actually be able to recover the cost of the effort, even with the extra hashing power! *sigh*

*Enviously eyes the more electronic-savvy miners*

I just kept buying more AM usb sticks.  it is more hash and at .93btc for 1gh not a terrible price.
