How can I set thread count in wolf's miner?

on A8-5600 it starts 3 threads and I get a total of 42 H/s (approx 14 per thread)

Be mindful of the total hash though if you set it to all 4 cores. The latest miner (5-30) disables a thread by default (because it makes a HUGE performance difference)

got a question

it's showing

total paid on http://moneropool.org/
but when I use simplewallet.exe it says balance 0
and when I type refresh it says wallet failed to connect to daemon

Close your wallet.
you need to launch daemon and wait he's synchronized
then launch your wallet and type refresh to get the balance updated

cheers

Make sure you're starting bitmonerod.exe and letting it sync all the way before using the wallet.

refresh failed
daemon is busy. please try again later
balance still 0

wait to do anything till you see this in your wallet terminal

ok I have an issue

Last night sent two tx's followed by a third maybe an hour or so later. All the same commands I've been using for weeks to send to polo to my account. First two do not show up in blockchain, third went through like normal. This is with the latest wallet (not sure what # we are on but I pulled and compiled last night for the mandatory upgrade)

This is from my log:

So am I shit out of luck or mayhaps these coins will show up at polo in a year or two?

[UPDATE] So apparently the coins came back to my wallet this morning... My question now is wtf? and is this normal? Can't say I've had this happen before with a coin.

DISCLOSURE: I am a linux guy

I really enjoy the client though. Sure, its not sexy but its pretty easy to build on *nix (which I love) and the damn thing works pretty good.

For not being a btc clone I think the client is very solid.

The equilibrium is set by spot instance pricing.

I just wanted to address this too: mining costs are a factor underlying price, but ultimately price dynamics are determined by buying & selling, which are in turn determined by humans & emotions. Mining can be unprofitable for weeks/months without nethash suffering (DRK demonstrated this). Or mining profitability can be huge for long periods of time, sustained by strong buy pressure. Or the price can crash and burn, causing miners to leave to the point where nobody bothers anymore. Equilibriums might work on paper, but in practice it's never that neat.

Bottom line is: you can't trust that the price will equilibrate to butt mining costs after a period of hype & speculative adoption. It really could go in any direction depending on competition, media attention, tech problems, all kinds of things really. And the market can be fickle. So it's better to cover your bases where you can.

and one has to wonder those going the Amazon route how long they will keep hashing for a loss... With the price dropping daily one would have to think its getting close to being break even/unprofitable.

Monero only has Ring Signatures going for it, which has terrible issues such as bloating and scaling

That is all Monero needs, a little bloat and scaling issues for now are a side effect of having a proper anonymous network.

lol. Anyone talking about bloat should go see how many weeks it would take to synch the BTC blockchain from scratch. ffs.

Something weird is happening, whenever I mine for a certain amount of time, all shares are getting refused. Anybody having this issue? I don't know if time is the factor or something else happening on the computer but it is very weird.

Are you using cpuminer-multi?  (minerd)

I have the same problem - whether I use the --no-longpoll flag or not, it still switches to "booooo" after some number of hashes, and then stays there.  It looks like a bug in the pool code, as the difficulty appears to drop back to the pool's openign value at the same time.

i.e. pool might start me off at difficulty 500.. it will then go up to a higher level incrementally with lots of "yay", and then suddenly minerd shows difficulty back at 500 and forevermore get boooo.

I'm back to using simpleminer again and just running multiple instances of it - one for each cpu thread.

Same here as well. Now the really weird part is this is only happening on my Linux Mint box at home... all my ubuntu vps's hash just fine with the same miner and settings for days on end with less that 5% rejects for 50 vps's. The only thing I can peg as a culprit is my home box has a FX8350 and mayhaps this is indeed a bug in the difficulty adjustment (cause it seems it takes a shit right at the first adjustment).

New ANN will be posted shortly on bitcointalk - 2 developers interested in providing support, keep mining people !

lol buddy, its over. I'm sorry you through money at this but you are flogging a dead horse.

EDIT: Oh, I see you've had trouble compiling the wallet last night, better switch back to winblows and leave linux mining to the experts.

lol is that meant to be you then? I wont stoop to calling you names or stating the obvious character flaws you have in abundance... Nope, good ol fashioned ignore is all is needed for someone like you. Have a nice day.

Checked out source from git.. got this:

In file included from checkpoints.cpp:12:0:
db.h:16:20: fatal error: db_cxx.h: No such file or directory
 #include <db_cxx.h>
Hi orinoco,
Code:
sudo apt-get install libdb++-dev

As a side note, wallet (qt & daemon) compiled flawlessly on Mac OS X here -- source is definitely fine.

hmmm id argue that figuring the 6 other qt wallets I have running on this same system.... something seems screwy

Doen't compile on Linux Mint

Code:
/usr/bin/ld: build/sqlite3.o: undefined reference to symbol 'dlclose@@GLIBC_2.2.5'
/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libdl.so.2: error adding symbols: DSO missing from command line
collect2: error: ld returned 1 exit status
make: *** [shinycoin-qt] Error 1

daemon compiled fine though

Hey folks,

i'm closing the KFC Pools, please withdraw your funds and stop mining asap

https://kfcskein.suprnova.cc
https://kfcgrs..suprnova.cc
https://kfcsha.suprnova.cc

will be shut on sunday (25-may)!

and so you are just gonna make off with the unmature coins then?

i'm shutting the stratum, 'cause this is what makes load on the server, not the webpage, don't be worried Smiley

I'll let the site up at least for two weeks, until all mined blocks are matured and you had a chance to withdraw all your mined coins.

Outstanding sir. Thanks for the clarification.

I am out. Dev is fucking around. Not releasing exact time of launch screams incompetence.
No logo - "never bothered to make one."
This sounds like a high school drop-out fucking around.

who the fuck cares about logo? only asians, and retards like yourself. Logo doesnt mean shit, if this man is working on something innovative, different from all these shit coisn coming out then that takes precedence over a shit fucking logo, so its ok for him not to be bothered to make one. Highschool drop out fucking around? Man shut the fuckup

Listen retard, no one dedicates days or weeks for development and then decides to not bother with a 5 min work he can outsorce for $5 on freelancer. I cant think of a single coin announcement here without a logo. What else could be missing, other than windows binaries and wallet ?

How many coins have you coded and or launched?

Will there at least be qt code in the github? or is this rocking daemon only?

Yes, I made a shiny qt wallet.  It also has support to make it easy to use the info transactions.

coolio. Look forward to giving it a whirl
