Any reason for the price collapse (except supply and demand) ?

looking at the order book on polo I would assume just supply and demand. Buy support is down 20 BTC from the last time I looked (12 hours ish ago)

Its down 50BTC from 2 days ago i think....

I wouldn't be a bit surprised. Still, I wanna say the last low it was down to around 40 and even now its starting to creep back up.

What I do find interesting is that the overall nethash hasn't dropped with the price... this would make me think the price is still going to head down over the weekend til the profiteers shut off to let the market recover.

Because most, if not all, exchanges require a bribe to list a coin these days. Long gone are getting listed on merits alone... this is big business.

Delete block chain data from virtualcoin folder.
only leave wallet.dat & virtualcoin.conf files in the folder.

rerun it, if you can't wait 5-10 mins, add following

it should sync in no time

ahhh I see what happened... when I did that commit last night your main.cpp didn't have it commented out... I need to keep a closer eye on these damn things.

Yes, everyone has reported hashrates that would make it 1:1. Although the GPU miner might still have more optimizations to come..

I would imagine both platforms have optimizations to come.

Not only the hashrate .. I measured TDP and looked up the purchasing cost too. All pretty close to 1:1

Everyone is moving toward APUs, whether they call it that or not. GPUs are becoming more like CPUs and CPUs are becoming more like GPUs. They are all just computers, and most applications have some elements of parallel and serial workloads. It has been happening for some time and will continue.

It is indeed very impressive that this is the first CPU coin to survive even the first GPU implementation with CPU mining intact.

One thing though, I am not a programmer so bare with me, there are two instances of that code in main.cpp, do they both need to be commented out? And wouldn't said commenting effect mac and win builds ?

In your current code: line 2325-2329 needs to be commented (it is already commented out in your source), but if building Windows or MAC builds, comment needs to be removed. I hope it makes sense.

ok so it turns out that the github just does not have the updated source. As a stopgap measure I am uploading (what I hope) is the working/updated code to my own github so I can get back to getting the explorer working (unless someone knows how to make wget work with mega links?)

Expect drunken complaining in about... oh 4 hours or so.

Ok, here is problem #1... github source is not updated. There is no makefile for leveldb so wont build.

Get this fixed and I will keep working on setting up a working explorer.
