Any reason for the price collapse (except supply and demand) ?
looking at the order book on polo I would assume just supply and demand. Buy support is down 20 BTC from the last time I looked (12 hours ish ago) Its down 50BTC from 2 days ago i think.... I wouldn't be a bit surprised. Still, I wanna say the last low it was down to around 40 and even now its starting to creep back up. What I do find interesting is that the overall nethash hasn't dropped with the price... this would make me think the price is still going to head down over the weekend til the profiteers shut off to let the market recover.

Difficulty is rising! Next stop is to get listed on Bittrex and Poloniex. but when Not sure, hopefully soon though. Keep bugging Richie Lai of Bittrex and he'll eventually give in. lol Don't understand why Virtualcoin isn't a hit yet. It has a great name, logo, no premine/ipo and low total coins. Dev also knows his stuff and this isn't a hype/scam coin. I'll just keep mining for now. Maybe this is a hidden treasure waiting to be discovered. Because most, if not all, exchanges require a bribe to list a coin these days. Long gone are getting listed on merits alone... this is big business.

so this just effects ubuntu? bloody figures. I switched to mint a few months back and I've been in love ever since. Screw ubuntu
[edit] hmmm no dice. Commented out the code and still stuck at 1611
Delete block chain data from virtualcoin folder. only leave wallet.dat & virtualcoin.conf files in the folder. rerun it, if you can't wait 5-10 mins, add following /.virtualcoind addnode 83.145.61.172:49748 add /.virtualcoind addnode 8.220.18.202:6761 add /.virtualcoind addnode 62.21.3.96:59096 add it should sync in no time Did that, even tried on a fresh vps just to make sure. I get connections just fine.

Anyone else seeing pretty much a 1:1 parity with investment on hardware / running costs / mining speeds with the GPU miner? Maybe a little edge on CPU, but the gap is so close.
That's incredible.
Yes, everyone has reported hashrates that would make it 1:1. Although the GPU miner might still have more optimizations to come.. I would imagine both platforms have optimizations to come. Not only the hashrate .. I measured TDP and looked up the purchasing cost too. All pretty close to 1:1 Isn't AMD moving toward APU's? http://www.amd.com/en-us/products/processors/desktop/a-series-apu#Everyone is moving toward APUs, whether they call it that or not. GPUs are becoming more like CPUs and CPUs are becoming more like GPUs. They are all just computers, and most applications have some elements of parallel and serial workloads. It has been happening for some time and will continue. It is indeed very impressive that this is the first CPU coin to survive even the first GPU implementation with CPU mining intact. +10000! I seem to recall a good two week period where the sph crew was killing a cpu coin a day...

Please update github with these updated source files. https://mega.co.nz/#!DdBSDJSb!t0V6y5_SasEu1Hn0GQbuxdpriKAmFLz7EY3-iQtXNRs Also comment out following code in main, as some Linux OS have issues & end up causing forking, but MAC OS or Windows OS builds should NOT be commented out. else { if (nBits != GetNextWorkRequired(pindexPrev, this)) return state.DoS(100, error("AcceptBlock() : incorrect proof of work")); } Rightio. One thing though, I am not a programmer so bare with me, there are two instances of that code in main.cpp, do they both need to be commented out? And wouldn't said commenting effect mac and win builds ? In your current code: line 2325-2329 needs to be commented (it is already commented out in your source), but if building Windows or MAC builds, comment needs to be removed. I hope it makes sense. ha yeah, thats what was kinda screwing with me as I thought it already was. Ok, so let me see if I have this straight, if someone wanted to pull and build this source on win they would have to modify main.ccp?

Thanks Billo Just to clarify, I do not control vcoin source on github. I had requested in the past... " Hi linked67, that is my github ID, but if you don't mind updating vcoin code, then I won't need it.
their is an update for checkpoint.cpp file. I have posted it in thread.
I don't want to be rude but i have uploaded it on github because it was more easy to install it on my server after this. It's your job to register on github and upload/update your code. Github is free. " so can't help much unless I was provided access or auther keep it updated. back to https://github.com/billotronic/vcoinI reviewed it, it needs to update checkpoint.cpp & some other files. I will upload changed files that you can replace it on github. Thanks again. ahh well that explains that then. We can do this either way, I can easily transfer my repo to you or I can keep it updated if you get me the goods.

Instacash contacted with helping out to build MAC OS wallet for .1 BTC.
What's everyone's thought? it is worth it or wait for later? yes, donation for this will be needed to raise .1 BTC
This would need redoing every time you add checkpoints and bring out a new wallet? VCoin.ca seems to have an error going on. It used to point to this thread, I noticed it no longer worked yesterday. It seems a block explorer with compatibility for X11 coins already exists, why do we not have one yet for VC? https://github.com/bitcoin-abe/bitcoin-abe hmmmm that github for the x11 module is dead... there must be another floating around somewhere well duh, cause it was merged... Ok, so what does it take to get a explorer going?
