2361  Local / Criptomoedas Alternativas / Re: Bolsonarocoin ou Mitocoin ? Qual o nome da próxima moeda brasileira ? on: July 18, 2017, 04:48:50 PM

https://news.bitcoin.com/bitcoin-ether-dash-and-litecoin-1800-austrian-post-offices/

2364  Economy / Speculation / Re: John Mcafee will eat his winkle if BTC isn't $500,000 by 2020 on: July 18, 2017, 02:42:14 AM
https://twitter.com/officialmcafee/status/887024683379544065

A bold claim. I'm not sure which is bolder.

Ludicrous but fun all the same. I do believe 2020 is going to be pretty spectacular if Bitcoin remains above ground.

As an aside can anyone tell me when John Mcafee became a Bitcoin mogul? He seems to have appeared out of nowhere relatively recently. When did he first start talking about it?

I think he is just trying to attract some newbie's but the price is really high and I don't really think that bitcoin would be that high,
It seems really impossible for bitcoin to reach that high half a million in just 3 years and look at it's current price it is really just a dream and it is hard to believe.

Newbies are not gonna make this higher, but companies, that's another story.

There's not big money (from companies, banks, governments, etc) in bitcoin yet, and maybe all this FUD was to get rid of weak hands so that the big guys could enter the market and only exchange with the strong ones.
2365  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buying BTC with storage space (Sia/Storj/Burst...): Price analysis on: July 18, 2017, 02:30:55 AM
I have some spare external hard drives, they are between 6-8 years old and have 640gb each. If I let them plugged the entire day, how much I can do for hour in BTC?
2366  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Are we already on the fork? on: July 18, 2017, 02:24:13 AM
Tried to send 0.02293095BTC 30 minutes ago from an exchange to my wallet, and still 0 confirmations. The exchange defined the speed and they always put at maximum.

Are we already on the fork? Did I lost my money?
No, there has not been a fork, and there being a fork would not effect your transaction getting included into a block or not. What is the txid of your transaction?

I'm also getting the message "unknown block versions being mined". What to do about it?
That is unrelated to your transaction not being confirmed. That warning is because more than 50 of the last 100 blocks are signalling for a consensus rule proposal which your wallet is not aware of.

It confirmed now. But I find strange that it took so much time just for a first confirmation.

Ta a quanto tempo no mercado?

2368  Local / Português (Portuguese) / Re: como me manter seguro? on: July 18, 2017, 02:18:04 AM

2369  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC will up. dont worrry on: July 18, 2017, 02:13:42 AM
Bitcoin is too cheap right now. It's value is much higher than what is currently perceived.

It should be at least 10k dollars each unit. Just look at all the projects being made around it, the impact of blockchain technology in the world, some countries adopting it, etc.

To say it's expensive is to treat it like it was five years ago.
2370  Economy / Speculation / Re: You should by Buying BTC NOT Dumping it! SMH on: July 18, 2017, 01:23:26 AM
I agree with the op, who knows what the value of those coins will be but it certainly has potential

If bitcoin is adopted by the entire world, all the 6 billion humans, it will value 1 billion dollars, because coin supply is limited.

This can solve the issue of unemployment being caused by massive automatization. The robots do the work, the man lost the job, and the coin saves the man from hunger and allows him to buy what the robot produces. The idea here is everybody living in a ponzi scheme. I don't known if it is possible, but is something to think about.

2372  Local / Português (Portuguese) / Re: BITMAIN no Twitter anuncia estar rodando #Segwit2x on: July 17, 2017, 06:19:16 PM

I was thinking in buying an entire BTC at $1000.

What is the best date to do it? Or will it not be possible?
2375  Economy / Speculation / Re: Lol @ Hardfork panic on: July 16, 2017, 05:01:39 PM
If the majority of users are newbies, then UASF will not happen.
2376  Economy / Speculation / Re: To sell all?? on: July 16, 2017, 03:03:32 PM
Implementation of SegWit2x is at 21st July.

1st August is UASF, in case SegWit2x won't pass.

2377  Economy / Speculation / Re: To sell all?? on: July 16, 2017, 02:09:49 PM
Ideally you should not invest more than 10-15% of your assets.

If you invested more than that and really needs the money, I suggest selling the excess after 15% of your assets, and keep the rest.

Don't buy more than you can afford to lose.
2378  Economy / Speculation / Re: Invested when BTC was at 2550 and 2320. What to do now? on: July 16, 2017, 02:02:31 PM
I have bought my first bitcoin in 2015. It was 1BTC at that time.

I spend it to buy MEGA 2tb storage three times, and stayed with around 0.6-0.7BTC until 2017. MEGA was the sole reason why I bought bitcoin in the first place, and I hope I can pay more things with bitcoin in the future.

Then bought more in may and june 2017, during the recent rise, and joined Bittrex to trade on altcoins. Now I have 1.45BTC in my wallet, and more spread alongside altcoins.

Before this year I only had litecoin as an alternative to bitcoin. I have bought 15LTC in 2016, before their SegWit implementation.

In total I have something around 2.3-2.5BTC in bitcoins and altcoins together.

Didn't sold anything, nor I will. I really want to use bitcoin as a way of payment.

I think it's better to hold.
2379  Economy / Speculation / Re: Preparing for the BIG FEAST! on: July 16, 2017, 12:34:08 PM
We depend on the newbies for the price to increase.

Without the newbies, the market will not recover.

And if there's such a bad impression of bitcoin, those newbies will never come back to it. And this will make recover harder for bitcoin.

That's why I say to not panic sell your coins. Just keep holding.

Fortunatelly those newbies are still a minority of the population, or bitcoin would never recover.

The more people holding and using it for payments, the higher the price will go, but the worse will be the falling.

That's why I support both SegWit and SegWit2x. It's not the time to increase the block size yet, but might happen in the future in case the network grows even more. The miners are wrong in pushing it to three months after SegWit, there's no need for it yet, they have to wait the network grow and only then increase the block size. And the network will NOT grow if there's widespread panic.

You can laugh at the newbies all you like, but you still depends on them for the price to increase.

There's no inflation with bitcoin, the number of coins is limited and that's the reason why it increases the price.

If people lose confidence there's no reason to buy more bitcoins, even by cheap price, because they will not recover.
2380  Economy / Speculation / Re: Probably the last chance to get on the BTC train... on: July 16, 2017, 12:24:11 PM
First let us see what caused this drop to happen and who is behind it and why? Bitmain splits Bitcoin and

Bitcoin changes algo of POW and disables ASICboost, Bitmain will see their deadly mistake after everyone

Dumped their coins and their price dropped from $300 down to $25 Bitmain will switch back to Bitcoin but

Nothing will happen for them because their miners couldn't hash on new algo, what happens? BM will go

Bankrupt and BTC will start recover.

Bitcoins for 25 dollars? I paid around 7k for equivalent of 2,5 BTC (but have only 1,45 BTC, the rest are altcoins, which are falling all the same).

Can it really fall that low?

If this happens, maybe it should be time for them to consider stop mining new coins. Since this crisis was started by miners, reason would be for them to end it.
