Yes thats what is freaking me out, it doesn't make any sense. A parabolic run up like this has *always* ended with a significant correction in the past, followed by a longer retrace and then a new bottom higher than the previous ATH, to springboard off.
Paradigm shift. Bitcoin is not a stock, it is a revolution.

It sidelined.
There happened a double top, but the demand is so high that it sidelined instead of falling. That's why bitcoin is challenging TA, because of demand which is much higher than any stock. The demand will make it hard to short.
Now theres CME by 18th December, maybe we will have more money flowing in, and the price will go to 20k.

I was on the bus tuesday, going to a doctor, when I thought on Jeff Garzik and the S2X FUD in November.
I asked myself, what had happened to that guy.
Now I come here and read he is behind a new fork, and right that one where Satoshi is quoted as having said that we have to trust central banks.
The world keeps turning.

Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What if this is the beginning of a 2 month x10 price increase?
|
on: December 13, 2017, 10:53:33 PM

Actually it doubles every four months, but it is possible to increase to ten times each two months. Institutional money is flowing in, and they have tons of money most here dont ever dream of. I think at the moment they are going timid on it.
They can bet with 10x leverage on futures and then pump the price to win the contracts against shorters, and use the cash to buy even more. But we have to be aware that after that, they can do the opposite, and short the hell out of it, selling their stashes and betting a decrease, also with 10x leverage.
They will not do that now, though, as most of the market is still dominated by the old whales. They will try to buy it first. When they have most of the coins in the exchanges, then they can start trying to short it. But it will still be risky for them, because the demand is massive, people will be buying it cheap from their hands, and as the order book gets filled, they will not be able to short it to the values in the futures. They will have to short less, so it will take years for them to dominate the market, if they even dominate it someday.

Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin scales another fresh peak, likely to hit $20,000-mark soon

In case you didn't notice, a big crash is already going on, and will likely not stop. Other superior and green crypto are rapidly taking Bitcoin Cores place. Bitcoin does not scale. There are hundreds of thousands of people waiting for their insanely expensive transactions to be confirmed. Most of these people will realize Bitcoin Core project has failed.
Ok, Jim Cramer. We read you.

It's possible they will be like "hello goyim, too much liquidity has left the system and into bitcoin and caused it to collapse. We are now passing a law that you're not allowed to use bitcoin and must use federal reserve digital token instead". Then they get their cashless society slave system + scapegoat for economic collapse in one swoop. The plan probably wouldn't work, but these are psychopathic jewish money changers we're talking about here.
There should be some way for people to throw some weight against those hedge funds which are betting against bitcoin. The more adoption, the more will be stored in average Joe's hands. The main issue, however, is fear. I saw Novogratz shorting, it was a massive red candle, from 11 to 9k. This was only one guy. Imagine if they do that in concert. They can provoke a lot of fear and make people panic sell.

There are loads of people out there who are losing money in this bullish market. One of the groups is technical analysts. Don't get me wrong, I love TA, however it seems TA is really just not very effective on crypto.
That's true, but a lot of people are influenced by TA. I have been doing it recently in tradingview just to influence bullish tendencies in people that visits that site. Theres so many bearish "predictions" there that I had to do something.

Isnt litecoin "digital silver", whereas bitcoin is the "digital gold"?
So, it MUST have 1/12 value of bitcoin, because this was the historical value of silver in relation to gold. Silver was used in daily transactions, gold was for store of value.
If bitcoin is 17k now, then litecoin should be around 1.5k. Long way to go.
