It's not only about fees, it is about network congestion. I am hodling, but I hope every day for them to announce a blocksize increase as a temporary fix while we keep waiting for a working LN fully deployed. A small blocksize increase that we would need anyways even IF LN was already in place.
And no, for whomever is thinking so: BCH crapcoin is no solution... if Bitcoin fails ALL the crypto castle will crumble.
I'm for a blocksize increase to 2mb (not 8mb, as it was done by BCH). However, this was already planned for SegWit. If it was implemented, fees would be smaller. It seems they are preparing the network for the coming of big institutional investors, who will move only large ammounts of money. For them, high fees will look small. If Im not mistaken, LTC have SegWit by default. You dont need to mess with the console to use it.

The price dropped today to 13K, maybe because of Bitcoin cash being pumped. But most likely because the whales start to cash out, taking small investors with them. The price could drop some more, maybe to 8K. That will be the start for many to buy again, which will cause a price increase like we've seen before. Bitcoin will then hit a new ath of over 20K next year March. So the rocket will arrive a little later.
I think it wont go below 10k. Masterluc said 10k wasnt enough tested. Thats right, consolidation was very short and got shorter as price increased. Now theres no consolidation in any floor, just extreme volatility. If it falls to 10k, a lot of buying pressure will come, and it will surge forwards again.

Did you know? Small hedge funds have been buying bitcoins for three months already. Did you know? Small hedge funds are now dumping those bitcoins to force you to panic-sell. Did you know? Big hedge funds, even worse than the small ones, are buying the dips from weak hands. Did you know? Wall Street wants your coins, for market dominance. The same thing they did to gold, they want to do to bitcoin now.

I think DASH is kind of unique among the top 5 cryptocurrencies by market cap, because of the Masternode structure. If I´m not mistaken setting up a masternode effectively locks up 1000 DASH.
Litecoin and Dash have interesting technologies. I think both are good to hold in long-term.

Looks to me like the most recent Tether injection has not resulted in the uptrend resuming with the same strength it was... i've trimmed my BTC exposure. Good luck to all remaining longs! ;P
(more fool me if it suddenly blasts through 20k though hehe!)
Anyone can buy bitcoin, including the banksters. So its easy to imagine they shorting it after CME futures launch, to win their bets and create a snowball effect. Luckily for us, the positions are being quickly bought by people eager to jump in.

Yes, I do. The sheep cant stand those zeros, they see it as a "bubble" and that the "real" value should be smaller, when in fact we have less than 21 million coins for 6 billion people.
With mBTC they can buy it, feeling more "safe" and "powerful". They can still call it bitcoin, take selfies and show to their friends in facebook. For example, they can say they have 16 bitcoins, when in fact it is only 16mBTC, and this will be useful for us as we will be less of a target (if you know what I mean). Yes, this would have a good psychological impact.

Probably the bankruptcy of the south korean exchange.
Also, North Korea is suspect of having unleashed the wannacry virus. They can also be suspect of having hacked this exchange.
And theres the opening of CME. Some bankster might have dumped his coins to drop the price and create a snowball effect in futures. Not gonna work.
