All of these reasons are the ultimate reason I bought the artwork from you a few months back. If this is generation 1 of the LoyceV model, then the next generation of this beautiful AI will be something special. (Unless they remove the headphone jack)

In all seriousness, I can't believe its only  been 5 years. I honestly thought you were here before me. You've definitely cemented yourself in Bitcointalk history in the time you've been here though.
3962  Other / Meta / Re: Can you create a signature campaign for OP posts? on: February 28, 2020, 07:22:19 PM

if you can make it a rule for your participants and they agree why not.

its very strategic for companies doing the signature camapigns. the title of the threads can be seen more by the google crawlers and index it, i think this is meant for getting more traffic not just to the forum but also visibility to the links in the OP. the first post is usually what is being read the most the 2nd page are almost not read when users already sees the answers to the question but if the original post is an article the better it is for page to appear in google searches.

If its an article it better be constructive, and something related to the thread. I can see this sort of signature campaign generating not only a lot of low quality threads, but users trying to advertise for the service they're getting paid by which would be against the rules. Therefore, if users were sharing links of articles from the service they're advertising for that is likely to be low quality as well as advertising spam. An alternative way of going about this is to look at your applicants, and see which ones are more likely to create informative threads, and have been doing so for a long time. Otherwise, hiring someone who's normal behaviour doesn't involve creating threads would likely promote spam, and if not spam genuinely low quality forced posts.
3963  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Wilder vs. Fury II: The Rematch is On on: February 27, 2020, 05:46:30 PM
Well if the costume really did weigh 20kg like he said then I can see that it really would have had an effect on his performance. That said though, it's his own fault and he should not be complaining about it.

I can't imagine that it would have had such an effect on his performance, considering Fury dominated him from the first second of round 1.

As far as I'm aware Fury said he still has three fights on his contract with ESPN, that's after the recent Wilder fight. So that means we will probably get another Wilder rematch, then Anthony Joshua, and then hopefully Dillian Whyte. There's absolutely no point him fighting Chisora who has already been beaten by both Whyte and Fury, so I don't want to see an old Chisora get sparked out once again.

I think the last fight should be with somebody who really deserves the title shot at the time. Maybe Usyk, Kownacki or maybe even Daniel Dubois.
Although, I'd agree that there are better fights for the fans than Chisora. Fury, and Chisora are personal friends, and Fury has always hinted giving him another fight whether that was sarcastic was hard to be determined considering the context that it was said. I'm not sure about you, but having a trilogy almost 3 fights in a row just takes everything out of the last two fights. Usually, trilogy fights are over a period of time, but we'll be having 3 fights within 4 fights for each fighter which in my opinion is too soon. Personally, I believe the better option would be to have a break, and allow Fury vs Joshua. Then whoever wins that can vs Wilder again. I'll be routing for Fury, but lets just say that Joshua wins it. It would still be worthwhile for Wilder to fight Fury after Joshua just because he still has something to prove.
3964  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Wilder vs. Fury II: The Rematch is On on: February 25, 2020, 11:08:02 PM
You know what. This whole excuse about the costume thing has left a sour taste in my mouth. I've never really supported Wilder, and I'm definitely a Fury fan, however I left that fight having a little bit of respect for Wilder for the way he refused to give in. I've seem boxers take dives before, and from a much less of a beating than Wilder was given. However, waking up to the news of Wilder's excuses regarding the costume, and his statements of "Fury didn't hurt me" has made me lose all respect for him. He had a better response inside that ring when he was still concussed, yet a few days later when hes had time to absorb the loss, and the embarrassment he comes out with these absurd claims. The fact that he would have had to try on that costume, and he still decided to take about 5 minutes to walk to the ring. I knew Wilder was a one dimensional fighter, but I didn't expect him to be so blind to the fact that a heavy costume doesn't make you bleed, and not be able to throw your arms.

Its just annoying. Fury was hoping to retire after 3 fights, and we now have to wait for the "big" fight against Joshua. I'm a Fury fan, so I want him to beat Joshua, rematch with his old pal Chisora, and then retire undefeated. I don't want him to not go out with a bang, because I think Fury is the type of person that needs to do things his own way or he could have issues mentally, and not feeling fulfilled. Unless, its a loss I actually think Fury would deal with a loss very well, because he absolutely knows he would have been bested, but if he doesn't get this fight with Joshua at all I fear for his mental health. I want him to have the chance to prove himself to the world as the best of the division. Plus, us fans are going to be in for a hell of a show. I will say, the rematch with Wilder isn't going to be a boring fight. Wilder still has that potential to catch him early, and change the fight completely. Although, what I will say. He would need to knock Fury clean out, because whenever Fury has been knocked down he gets back up, and tends to win the rest of the fight. I've never seen him completely rocked. Even, when he got tagged hard by Wilder last time he got back up without his legs betraying him or anything. It was a bit of a miracle that he woke up in time as he appeared completely out for a second or two, but once he was up he was completely there, and went on to win the round.

[Overview] The one thread to link them all
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1217042.0
I think this one needs a little updating, but is always the one that I would recommend anyone getting into Bitcoin, as well as those that are a little more experienced. If you ever want a question answered its likely to be linked on that thread. The original poster of that thread hasn't been online for nearly a year now though so unlikely of it being updated.
3966  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Wilder vs. Fury II: The Rematch is On on: February 21, 2020, 07:30:10 PM
I'm super excited for this rematch, although I honestly don't think I want a trilogy if one of these wins in a definite way. If its a controversial end like last time, or a split decision then maybe the trilogy would be best. However, if Fury or Wilder runs away with this, then it kind of puts a dampener on the whole win as really the last person to win is usually considered the better fighter. I'm routing for my man Tyson Fury all the way though. I think he will outperform Wilder again, and as long as he avoids that right hand of Wilder, and does slightly less showboating I think we'll see a decisive point victory.
3967  Other / Meta / Re: Request an option to cancel a report. on: February 21, 2020, 07:23:16 PM
I imagine about this situation and I feel we don't need a Cancel button.

What we need is a pop-up message or a highlighted phrases - Red (like we have when try to reply in threads that have last posts made more than 120 days ago) to warn that we already report that post.

"You already report this post. Please don't not report it twice. Thank you!"

With it, we won't report one post more than one time and won't have to re-check our report history, then cancel double-reports. If there is solution, it should be appear at the beginning of report process.

I think you should still have the option to report the post even if you have reported it before, and there's currently a open report. I remember a few times that I've reported in the past, I had come across new information which provided a better explanation to why I was reporting. Although, I'll admit this isn't something which props up often, I think a non obstructive notification should appear if you've already reported it, but you should be able to ignore that if you wish.
3968  Other / Meta / Re: BitcoinTalk can become the facebook of money on: February 11, 2020, 08:22:36 PM
Can I make a formal request that we aim to not become the Facebook of anything. I don't think that is something anyone should be trying to emulate, especially a forum related to Bitcoin. If you are referring to Facebook's success in terms of audience, and reach instead of how Facebook conduct their business. Then I think that might be a little ambitious, as this isn't exactly a social media platform.
3969  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Signature campaign rule - minimum of 20 posts must be in Gambling :D on: February 08, 2020, 12:25:24 PM
Obviously, I'm not part of the campaign, nor am I totally familiar with it, but it is worth mentioning that other signature campaigns have a minimum across the whole forum, it would make sense for a gambling site to have a minimum amount of posts within the gambling section if that is their target audience. I'm not saying that I necessarily agree with the minimum post criteria that campaigns tend to have, but as long as the campaign manager moderates it, and removes anyone that is spamming I don't think its much of a problem. Many users post 20 posts within the gambling section without being in a signature campaign.

They're targeting a certain audience (gamblers), and they want a certain amount of exposure (number of posts) to that audience which is probably a smarter way of going about things compared to other campaigns which have no requirements. However, like I said it totally depends on how well the campaign manager moderates their campaign whether the 20 posts minimum will become a problem.
3970  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What Fantasy sports options do we have? on: February 03, 2020, 11:43:29 PM
I am not familiar with fantasy sports but after looking at some video's and going in some sites that have fantasy sports, after picking what game you like you would then pick your draft team to play for you so eventually, you would look at it on the screen the status and progress of the game but not the actual example NBA match or any live match that you can actually see, Well that is what I have known about this, so basically maybe there are also E-sports included here because it is a sure thing all online!

That's pretty much the jist of things. Generally, a well developed fantasy sports website will allow you a transfer budget so you can't just pick any players you want, and therefore can't pick the best of the best players. There's also usually some other features for flavour sake. An example of these would be substitutions, and loaning players. I haven't been able to find a fantasy sports site which aligns with my visions for a fantasy sports league unfortunately.

If we are talking about options for fantasy sports betting, is e-sports betting a thing too? Are there any options that allow you to bet on the teams playing DoTA league championships or the League of Legends championships. It will be quite a niche of people who would bet with bitcoin on e-sports. You would have to be a gamer who is into MMORPGs, be interested in betting and also be a bitcoiner. Long shot by all accounts.

I've seen multiple sports gambling websites offering Esports. Whether they have the game you're looking for is another thing. However, I would think the most popular leagues such as League of legends, DOTA, and CS GO will be covered.
3971  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What Fantasy sports options do we have? on: January 31, 2020, 02:13:11 PM
we have many betting websites which can operate similar like that.
When you say this, how are they operating similar to a Fantasy sports website? I know there's several websites like Fanduel which accept cryptocurrencies, but are limited in a number of options. It appears that several fantasy sports websites are also only accepting users from certain countries, or they are offering a "fantasy league" type system where you predict the scores over the season. Although, that's not exactly what I'm looking for. I think that could be part of it, but I'm looking specifically for drafting a team up, and chopping, and changing those as I please through the season while gaining points based on real word performances of the players selected.
3972  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What Fantasy sports options do we have? on: January 29, 2020, 04:44:07 PM
I'm not that interested in fantasy sports but you can check sportsbet's fantasy.

I don't know how well is their fantasy compared to the fiat ones but the experience was nice, last year they pushed it really hard with a big promotion for their epl contests and sometimes with other leagues like the nfl and nba.

I'll have to look at this a little later, as it automatically redirects from a UK IP address to the UK version, and putting /fantasy on the end doesn't exist. I'd probably only be interested in Soccer competitions such as the English Premier League, and it would have to be a season long thing where you can select your team.

Thanks for letting me know this though. Has this been well advertised, because my search for Fantasy sports in the Bitcoin gambling industry hasn't really prompted up any results. There were a few results of a few users here discussing about the lack of it, but no announcements that were still alive at least.
3973  Other / Meta / Re: Copying my [D-8] debate threads onto local boards. on: January 29, 2020, 04:39:47 PM
Users normally come to you if they would like to translate the thread on their local board. I've had quite a few requests, and still get the odd one now, and then despite most of the threads, and posts being posted a while ago. I think as long as you state you're cool with others translating the content then its fine. Otherwise, users should seek approval from the thread owner, and those users of the post they wish to translate.

If you wish to translate it yourself, and post in on a local board then seeking help from prominent users in that section would likely be a good idea.
3974  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Where to open an online Bitcoin Casino on: January 26, 2020, 08:12:11 PM
Most countries require you to pay for a license which is accepted through the gambling commission or to be able to provide access to other countries you will need to paid for individual licenses. For example, if you want to provide your services to the UK you have to have a license if you're operating in the UK or even in another country. There are some locations which have less restrictions than the UK, and I believe Isle of Mann is one of best options if you aim to provide a service to the UK population.

If you are allowing access to the United States this is a whole new can of worms. Basically, different states have different laws regarding gambling, and what type of license you require depends on that state. Some states are outright against gambling websites. Some countries have less restrictive licenses, but usually you will need a license which either covers multiple countries or several licenses for specific countries. There are countries which there are no licenses, however you still can't accept users from countries that require a license usually. Remember, that depending on the country you're operating in you will likely need to keep user data which means you could be subject to GDPR laws.

Opening a gambling website whether its remote or physical is a costly affair. In most countries avoiding a gambling license when it is required will land you in a lot of legal trouble.

Basically one can start operating a casino without a license, but since we are engage into business and we also look its long term success, it's better to registered it already so you won't have any changes in the future. Remember that you are carrying a name, and that name will be the face of your business, once that is ruined due to legality issues, you can easily loss your customers which you have been building for years.
You could theoretically open a casino without a license, but in the majority of countries you would be breaking the law which could result in your casino being closed, and the potential of other legal issues concerning you. You are required to apply for a gambling license in most countries before you even start earning money. Applying later when the casino has already launched, and has made an income would likely result in hefty fines, and possible rejection. When opening a gambling site its advised to talk to an attorney.

Remember, he said it is not a full casino, but some game where people compete to win money.
It doesn't matter if its not a full fledged casino or not. The gambling commission will likely treat the same. If the casino is open to the public, and advertisements have been made then it'll likely require a full license. If it was just a game between friends they usually don't care all that much.

Today one could argue if a license for BTC casino is needed at all?
If you aim to open a fully lawfully casino whether its fiat or Bitcoin, yes you will require a gambling license in the majority of countries. As I stated above, even if you opened it in a country which doesn't require a license at all you would still need a license if your casino accepts deposits or withdrawals from other countries which require a license.
3975  Economy / Gambling discussion / What Fantasy sports options do we have? on: January 26, 2020, 08:05:54 PM
I'm wondering what options we have for Fantasy sports which accept Bitcoin as a payment. I'm not big into gambling these days, and prefer the psychology, and discussion about gambling rather than participating myself. However, I definitely did enjoy buying into a league, and selecting my team each week via a Fantasy soccer website which accepted traditional currencies for a buy in to a league. I've tried searching this forum, and around the web, but can't seem to find any websites which allow you to select a team, and points are accumulated based off real life performances.

I understand that there's licenses issues with this especially if covering the more popular leagues in the world. I know that the English premier league tend to be very strict on who they hand out rights too. However, I'm hoping there's a licensed fantasy football website out there which accepts Bitcoin?
3976  Other / Meta / Re: Is this an error or forum really accept this kind of scenario. on: January 25, 2020, 11:26:40 AM
I see, maybe theymos need to fix this and not to allow double posting IMO to avoid same post lurking in some section if this incident occur again.
This doesn't happen often enough to justify making a change within the code, especially because the additional resources it would use to check whether someone has previously posted the same message would greatly outweigh the benefits of preventing users from posting duplicate content. Duplicate content is usually made on purpose where users look to spread their product or whatever to as many users of the forum as possible. Of course, as stated above the correct way of going about this is reporting the thread, and linking back to another thread of the duplicated content.

Sometimes this sort of duplicate content does go unnoticed, and it results in two different conversations at which the best thing to do would be to merge the threads together. However, I think that entirely depends on the quality of discussion.  Usually what happens is either the most active thread is kept or the one that was posted first. However, sometimes a thread that has been posted after the oldest one has better quality discussion, and is more active therefore sometimes its more appropriate to remove the older thread in that case.
3977  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin & Compartmentalization via Qubes OS? on: January 25, 2020, 11:15:00 AM
I'm not an expert in security, but I support you to make the tutorial to explain it. In other site say Qubes OS also the safest way to keep bitcoin wallet. Make split wallet can be more secure, split into an offline “cold storage” wallet and an online “watching only” wallet. Don't worry about malware attack because malware not have ability to reach  our wallet in offline "cold storage". So, our wallet will safe and not get hacked.
I think Qubes OS must have high specification to install it and many more technical process. For beginners or newbie its hard to understand, moreover not have knowledge and skills in computer

Its up for debate whether physical isolation is better, but I'm thinking of a more practical way of storing your Bitcoin, and possibly a safer way of storing your "hot" wallet that you frequently need access too. I might write something up with my experience of isolating via the machine. The only issue I know of is that Qubes OS requires certain virtualization technology present in the motherboard of your computer to actually work, and a lot of users here will likely be using older technology which doesn't have it. I honestly think that's the reason why Qubes OS isn't more popular. The user interface is surprisingly good, however it is a pretty unique way of securing your system compared t other well known operating systems. I wanted to see how much demand for this would be, as hardware wallets are likely used by the majority of users here at Bitcointalk. When you compare a hardwallet with Qubes OS a hardware wallet might indeed be cheaper if you don't have the VD-T virtualization technology present on your current motherboard. Although, I personally believe this is the solution you should use for everything, and not just Bitcoin so it swings in roundabouts I guess.

I'm certainly not claiming to be a expert in Bitcoin security, but I think sharing my findings of Qubes OS, and having some open discussion from the community could in fact improve my personal security.
3978  Other / Meta / Re: Reporter Statistics on: January 24, 2020, 10:13:26 PM
I don't know if it's real or manipulated  but i got this on a PM from one user :
I believe there's users with even higher statistics than this. It would be interesting to see the latest reporting statistics from theymos, but considering the demand for additional moderators right now isn't needed I don't think we will see this any time soon.

Luckily I don't need to report much these days as I can deal with most users as the recent merit changes means that not a lot of spammers rank up, and because I'm a patroller I get to deal with most users that I come across these days.
3979  Other / Beginners & Help / Bitcoin & Compartmentalization via Qubes OS? on: January 24, 2020, 10:09:44 PM
I've been thinking about writing up a guide of how you can use Qubes OS Compartmentalization for securing your Bitcoin, and system. I've mentioned this a few times over the last few weeks, and I'm knee deep into securing multiple systems with virtual isolation via Qubes OS. There are alternatives which I'm going to have to look at, because I'd like the keep the guide as unbiased as possible, but the content is going to be predominately based around the Qubes OS operating system.

This guide will be covering the basics, but will also be an opportunity to broaden my mind from the input from you guys, and hopefully secure my system even further. There is a lot of documentation to Qubes OS, but this can sometimes be technical. Hopefully, the aim of the guide would be tailored specifically to Bitcoin users, and some good practices with wallet software as well as discussion around securing a Bitcoin node via virtual isolation.

I'm wondering whether there would be any interest in this before committing to it. I'm not sure if there is specific interest for securing Bitcoin.
3980  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: 51% Attack on: January 24, 2020, 09:54:11 PM
If a pool did turn rogue, then a lot of hashrate contributors would switch to a different pool to combat it. The 51% attack isn't a genuine threat from my eyes. I think a 51% attack could potentially be made in a short period of time, but once everyone else is aware, and the expenses start to rack up the attack will subside. The government don't really need to attack the Bitcoin network as much as everyone likes to pretend that Bitcoin is a threat to the governments of the world or the banking systems it just isn't currently.

Bitcoin was never meant to be a direct attack on the government, and I can't see them getting involved especially when they can control it from less expensive, and invasive ways via media coverage.
