Are any of those google ads safe to even click on even if they are the real site?
Some are legit Some are not but the best thing to do is neglect those sites which are commonly placed on the top and this is the thing ive been doing eversince even if the url link is right. I do make a habit on inputting the exact link on url bar. Google searches is only being used on my part when it do search up some things not totally being used on accessing any sites.

Avoiding on not to be hacked or phished? Then its always set out the best security among of your account 2fa, strong passwords, clean computer.

The advertisements are easier to fake than search results. So using a search result often is safer than clicking an advertisement.

I agree  - 2fa, strong passwords and a clean computer. + Current antivirus from a reputable vendor.

Use dynamic 2FA like google authenticator rather than a static 2FA method.
1782  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Ronald Keala Kua Maria claiming to be Satoshi and registering trademark. on: June 29, 2018, 01:29:46 AM
If Bitcoin will grow, one day he can earn some profit, but most possible it is just wasted money. From crypto it is very hard to imagine the brand name, which can earn some money on T shirts etc.  Wink

Even a fake Satoshi can profit from that. He can claim to be an "alt"  Grin

Kua Maria also claims ownership of many domains of BCH related websites, such as thesatoshinakamoto.com, bitcoincopyrights.com, bitcoincashcopyright.com, bchcopyright.com, and others.

On these websites, however, visitors are redirected to the URL of the Kua Maria website, rkm.world, which offers “free basic plans”.
How about your opinion of Ronald Keala Kua Maria.

My opinion ? Opportunistic conman lacking knowledge comes to mind.

yawn .. old news then

Trademark Bitcoin cash applied for May 18, 2018 so new news.

The 2 year old copyright registration is less relevant. Copyright is lodged and not inspected. Trademarks are examined and if granted are hard to challenge.

Go away, before you were funny as the "grammar police" now your just a pain probably shilling for another healthcare company. Stick to your ludicrous ideas about Palace barracks and the box you're a joke. If I thought for one moment out of all the other healthcare ICOs you picked on MeFy because of the color of their skins I would make such a kickup with Theymos you would be barred from here, so drop it.

Remarks like this just draw more attention to you and bring more questions.

A quick search of Cryptodevils posts would reveal that he doesn't shill for anyone - in fact is one of the DT2's on the forum that actively busts scams. Including exposing other previous healthcare scams.

It is no joke. Your thread is being bumped by paid shills that drew attention to your thread in the first place.

Not answering serious questions and just boosting the posts by comments like
Quote
That will be nice. keep us posted..thanks for your reply.
and
Quote
Yes thats true. We need to have someone from the MEFY to help us understand more....i will bet on this Coin..
is against the forum rules and got you the attention you got now.

It is an attempt to fool others into believing that the project has more interest than it really has - which is dishonest.
You're effectively talking to yourself and encouraging low quality posts rather than genuine conversation.

Bringing in a racism accusation without a shred of evidence is a sign of dishonesty. If you had no intention of tainting him with that  - why did you mention it ?

There are lots of false complaint threads about Cryptodevil - do you really want the join the queue of proven scammers that made those complaints ? If Theymos thought he wasn't a good scambuster I think he would have taken notice by now.

For a legendary account from 2014 - I am very surprised at your lack of knowledge about etiquette of this forum and very much suspect that you have bought the account from someone for ICO promotion.

This idiot Cryptodevil fails to check out his facts Mefy was rebranded from MeMe care that has been registered since 2015.Sanjay was never involved with the said ICO his software company did all the code that is all.

What I don't understand is that MeMe rebranded as Mefy but is still marketing as MeMe care here: https://meme.care/

The company mentioned was incorporated (according to your info and roadmap below) in 2016 here:

But according to you the director of the company -

was never involved with the said ICO his software company did all the code that is all.

I don't quite understand that.

Either the company and its directors are involved

or

the company is not involved and the ICO is not incorporated.

Wrestling with plagiarism is it bad? Xtraelv - are you against the fight against plagiarism? In the English thread don't struggle with plagiarism? In the English thread respect plagiarists? WOW

It was deleted for being a machine translation. You will notice that I corrected my post in this thread a while back. I have no issues with the deletion of posts that are substandard. The Russian moderators do a very good job.
It was definitely not plagiarism - since I am the author of the English version.

I don't want to break forum rules - I only want to prevent phishing.

I was sad that my well intentioned post was deleted but I now understand fully why it was deleted. I don't disagree with the reason and taikuri13 has very kindly done a new translation for me and PM'd it to me. (Including having checked it here: https://text.ru/antiplagiat/empty) The previous translation was done for me by another user on this forum ( who kindly had translated it for me but not to the standard required for the Russian forum ).

Xal0lex - I do not have any issues with the methods used in the Russian forum and have previously defended the methods used. (Including using merits to reward reporters) . The reasons I like the Russian forum - I find the standard of posts there good, highly organised, great humor and often find information there that is not available in the English forum. I definitely did not intend to cause offence.

My only comment is that for a non native speaker - it is hard to recognize when something is not to an adequate standard.

The ocean does not take up carbon uniformly. It breathes, inhaling and exhaling carbon dioxide.

Having collected carbon over hundreds of years, this deep upwelling water vents carbon dioxide to the atmosphere like smoke escaping through a chimney.

In the equatorial Pacific, carbon dioxide venting increased between 1997 and 2004.

I believe that far too much emphasis has been placed on carbon emissions. It is a ploy for enrichment through carbon taxes.

But pollution in general is a bad thing - so reduction in carbon emission is not a bad thing.

The OP seemed to be asking if anyone made any objectives for this mission before going to war or if they just launched a few nukes and said 'let God sort it all out.' Mission planning is a key to victory for those who actually win. Poor mission planning is what the losing side does -- so teaches history.

“Victorious warriors win first and then go to war, while defeated warriors go to war first and then seek to win”

It is no war. It is an incentive.

Analytical tools are still being developed for it.

The purpose of a bounty campaign is to advertise a project

You see that is the root of the problem. The purpose of a bounty campaign should be to promote a project, not just to advertise it.

You are absolutely right. There is nothing that screams "SCAM" more than an army of shills that spam "good project" or "XYZ shitcoin is going to the moon".

I take more notice of one decent poster than 10000 obvious shills. The shills can even drown out the good posts that actually help the project.
1790  Local / Buyer/ Seller Reputations (India) / Re: Bitxoxo a scam? on: June 27, 2018, 01:00:40 PM
Bitxoxo is absolutely a scam. And I don't say this lightly. I traded about a lot of money with them in December 2017. It took them a couple of weeks to process my withdraws but they came through. I figured it was a one-time problem, so in March I decided to trade another 6.9 lakh with them. Huge mistake.

They claimed that their bank account was frozen and they could not process withdraws. They made it sound like this was a recent issue, but on Twitter people have been complaining of this problem since February. In the meantime, they keep accepting rupee deposits. How can their bank accept deposits but now withdraws? They are unable to explain this.

When I pressed them, they offered to repay me in bitcoin. I said that was fine but that they needed to give me BTC equivalent to 6.9 lakhs based on current market rates in India. Instead they gave me much less, about 5.85 lakhs. They claimed they had repaid me because on their website they now post a ridiculously inflated exchange rate for buying bitcoins that has no basis in actual supply and demand. It is just a rate that they make up.

Other people have had the same experience. Again, look on Twitter. You will see me and others posting there. They have blocked me, along with other former customers who have complained.

On Twitter and Facebook they use social media sock puppets that they hire on Fiverr. These are caucasian Americans mostly. Why are white Americans fans of Bitxoxo but Indians aren't? Probably because they are posting reviews for money.

Bitxoxo is now raising money through an ICO. On ICO Bench they claim to be India's largest bitcoin exchange, which is laughably false. One of their advisors is Boris Otonicar, who was banned from ICO Bench because he represented a fraudulent ICO.

It is amazing that Bitxoxo is still allowed to operate and hasn't been shut down by the authorities in India.

I've asked some questions in their thread about their suspect claims.

Comprehensive guide here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4404175.0

You could use it to expand you OP more to include all types of phishing scams.

Your other posts are all low quality bounty posts. Most people that award merit will look at that.

The claims made don't match reality.
https://www.alexa.com/siteinfo/bitxoxo.com

Also all the shills posting to bump the thread with low quality comments make it look dodgy.
Like this example: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=2211328;sa=showPosts

Besides - how is it the largest and / or fastest growing Indian exchange if it is incorporated in Australia ?

yes they are the fastest among other company who offers cryptocurrency exchange because of their system which is designed with high concurrency to process thousands of trades per second! this is one of the reason why i really love bitxoxo! they offers not just being the fastest but the most secured wallet globally. the team really did a great job! keep it up guys!

Since nobody but a paid shill would really give a review like that:
How is a centralized exchange wallet more secure than a DEX like Cryptobridge where you have your own private keys?

Your thread is like you're promoting for Trezor, and you focus on hardware wallet as the best wallet options.
Ok, about hardware wallet i have used both Trezor and Ledger Nano S and my experience is that, Ledger Nano S is easier and more convenience to use than Trezor.
Ledger also support more coins than Trezor,

Ledger support lists:  Bitcoin (BTC), Bitcoin Cash (BCH), Bitcoin Gold (BTG), Ethereum (ETH), Ethereum Tokens (ERC-20), Ethereum Classic (ETC), Litecoin (LTC), Dogecoin (DOGE), Zcash (ZEC), Ripple (XRP), Dash (DASH), Stratis (STRAT), Komodo (KMD), Ark (ARK), Expanse (EXP), Ubiq (UBQ), Vertcoin (VTC), Viacoin (VIA), Neo (NEO), Stealthcoin (XST), Stellar (XLM), Hcash (HSR),, Digibyte (DGB), Qtum (QTUM), PivX (PIVX), PosW (POSW)

Trezor support lists: Bitcoin (BTC), Litecoin (LTC), DASH, Zcash, Bitcoin Cash / Bcash (BCH), Bitcoin Gold (BTG), Ethereum (ETH), Ethereum Classic (ETC), ERC-20 Tokens, Expanse (EXP), UBIQ (UBQ), NEM (XEM), Namecoin, Dogecoin

And price comparison:
 - TREZOR One           89 EUR
 - Ledger Nano S   79 EUR

About design: Ledger  has more beautiful design than Trezor.

So if you guys want to have a hardware wallet i would recommend  Ledger Nano S instead of Trezor.

As you can see in my post. I stated that this is regarding my own experience using those wallets. Why would i recommend using ledger nano if i havent tried it?

I have both. I like the Trezor much better than the Ledger Nano. I find the Trezor more user friendly and easier to use. The Nano has problematic updates and I had to delete previously supported wallets because it ran out of memory. I find the Ledger Nano a crappy device. Trezor is far better.

1795  Other / Meta / Re: Merit System - Looking for Goals on: June 27, 2018, 08:54:53 AM
Hi,

I'm interested in researching and learning more about the Merit/sMerit system that was rolled out here in BitcoinTalk earlier this year. I have read the OP (original post). But there are over 250 pages of replies to the original post announcing this change and I have not been able to find a particular piece of information, and I'm hoping someone can help.

I'm searching for any information on the stated goals/objectives of the Merit system. In particular, I'm looking for anything close to what would be considered "S.M.A.R.T. goals" for the Merit/sMerit system from authoritative sources.

If you are not familiar with S.M.A.R.T. goals here is a post form MIT about them (http://hrweb.mit.edu/performance-development/goal-setting-developmental-planning/smart-goals).

S.M.A.R.T. goals are:

Specific
Measurable
Achievable
Relevant
Time-bound

Here is my question and I would greatly appreciate your assistance, if you would like to offer it:

Does anyone have any references to any stated S.M.A.R.T. goals or some metric based goals of the Merit/sMerit system that they can kindly post links to? I've asked some people about these who seemed knowledgeable and they could not produce them. I can't find these goals myself. If they exist, I would very much enjoy reading them.  I'm simply asking if anyone knows of written, metric based goals the Merit/sMerit system was intended to achieve that they can help me find and read myself.

Some examples might look like this...

-The Merit system will reduce spam by 10% within the first 6 months.
-The Merit system will increase the length of posts by 20% within the first 6 months.
-The Merit system will decrease the quantity of new user accounts by 30% within the first 6 months.

I have seen the vague descriptions that the Merit system's goals was to reduce spam and increase quality. Did anyone produce/set/post more specific goals (again, as described above)?

If anyone has seen any of these from an authoritative source, I would love to read more about them and read that post more thoroughly.

Thanks very much for reading this my fellow crypto community! Have a great day!  Grin

I believe that rather than the S.M.A.R.T. goals (which is a planning technique and management jargon) they use the basic A.R.S.E implementation technique.

Activate - the merit system
Regulate - by punishing the worst abusers using T.R.U.S.T.
Stimulate - by providing M.E.R.I.T to those that deserve it.
Evaluate - with statistics.

When I compare it between google translate and the post it is very different.

Maybe someone can do a better translation and post it on the Russian forum to prevent phishing. (like theyoungmillionaire kindly did for me on the Filipino forum)

Was translated for me by a Russian. It was an attempt to prevent phishing. (Russians are particularly targeted by phishing because it is difficult for them to report it to authorities)

Are any of those google ads safe to even click on even if they are the real site?

Technically, you don't know beforehand if the ad you are about to click on refers to a site that doesn't contain crap that directly infects your computer or whatever other device. You'll only find out if it's safe or not after you clicked on it. It's literally Russian roulette; you'll either regret it or not. Google doesn't care about what you do with your ad space, they just want you to pay. If later turns out you are abusing their ad space they simply banish you.

Google knows that there is heavy abuse going on, but they don't care. If they were selective and strict about who they sell their ad space to, they likely wouldn't be able to sell 50% of what they today manage to sell. Their logic is that abuse can be dealt with later on, and it works for them. No one here should expect Google to protect you.

https://www.virustotal.com/ is an free online scanner that allows you to scan without loading it onto your computer. I use it for a pre-scan when I am suspicious of a site or link.

I think it is fair to say that the Russian moderator is not interested in responding to this thread.

I personally have no objection to using merit being used for any method that makes the forum better. Including as rewards to reduce spam.

In the interest of fairness to him I sent a message to him in Russian pointing to this thread.

No reply but my post on exchange account phishing in the Russian language section that was there since June 2, has since been mysteriously deleted. (I received no email to say it was deleted)
(Was in the correct section, it was translated and checked by a native Russian speaker and it was a translation of my own original work)

Quite possibly just co-incidence but I think the messenger just got shot.

.....limping back to my corner....

Edit: I was wrong - it was co-incidence
