1241  Other / Off-topic / Re: How can you reduce addiction? on: November 28, 2022, 09:36:21 AM
Reducing addiction can only start when one knows and understand that they have an addiction. Substance disorders must be recognized willingly. In some cases, it is forcefully because of harm that can be done. Harm can be done to family and friends.
Seeking professional help can guide one through reducing addiction and hopefully put an end. In some cases, there can be mental or physical illnesses that have been undiagnosed and only a professional can help.
Surrounding yourself with those that understand that your addiction does run your life. Going to group therapy sessions and sharing your stories with others. Reflecting, exercises, and even meditation can help reduce addiction.
1242  Economy / Speculation / Re: Elon Musk says the price of BTC will rise on: November 28, 2022, 07:26:01 AM
Well like all of us I was happy when I heard Elon Musk make an bullish statement that Bitcoin will rise.  When he said that BTC will make it but might be a long winter it made me help to realize that Like him or not the man has some influence in what he speaks.

There are so many people that like him or people that hate him that will listen to him because of how wealthy and powerful he is. His confidence in the price of Bitcoin being a long term investment really gives me more confidence in my long term goal and to make me continue to HODL.
1243  Other / Off-topic / Re: Why Scammers and hackers target mobile users via text messages? on: November 28, 2022, 07:10:54 AM
I get daily text message scams to click a link. Guaranteeing a grand prize of millions of dollars, or a debit card has been locked.  A simple clickbait is a scammer’s paradise. Cellphones are the gateway wallet to personal identity, also known as “smishing”.
It is basically a robber pickpocketing someone's sophisticated style. Senior citizens are the easiest targets. One clicks on the link and some of the websites, and one cannot distinguish that it is a scam will be drawn to this. Like a social security number, a cellphone number must be protected.
This is so scary; our location and all our information can be taken from your cellphone. There must be a way to prevent this from occurring so often.
1244  Other / Off-topic / Re: Video of Mother holding child rescued by bus driver during suicide attempt on: November 28, 2022, 06:44:58 AM
This woman is beyond depressed that all she could do is commit suicide. Murdering her child in the process was the only solution. I could only imagine how high the suicide rates there are in China, a country that does not support human rights.

The driver and passengers can be call heroic as suicide has been prevented. However, it can somewhat resume the depressing cycle. Suicide attempts can’t just be erased.

The woman and child will undergo daily and many years of mental health evaluations—both living the trauma itself, in hopes that the child can overcome the situation.
1245  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Share your Crypto experience. on: November 27, 2022, 09:50:49 AM
Well I will share a not good crypto experience I have had and that is being scammed.  This news does not come as a complete shock because there's a lot of money in crypto and people will always find ways to steal valuables.

If you look at it from a historical perspective there have always been people doing scams, it's just now crypto has become so common in the populace that people are targeting it. I've been scammed before and I'd love to say it'll never happen again but it's just hard to say.

I think the key is doing everything you can do to be careful but there are circumstances that are out of our control. It really sucks when someone pulls one over on you but you have to get back on the horse and not let it sink you into despair.

There are so many good people out there, don't let some bad apples stop you from living your life to the fullest and still take some educated risks.
1246  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do you drink alcohol? on: November 27, 2022, 07:03:12 AM
Well lately I have been going through rough times in my personal life even not related to crypto so I’ve been experimenting with different drinks and I think I finally found my favorite drink of all time.
It is a bourbon amaretto sour. It’s basically the best drink I’ve ever tasted. It’s essentially an old school amaretto sour but it has bourbon in it, shaken with a little egg white and it is heavenly.  I highly recommend it.
1247  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC is likely to head towards a price of $13,000 on: November 27, 2022, 06:47:37 AM
I suppose it is possible that BTC can go to 13000 and its something we should all be ready to prepare for. I knew when I entered the crypto market I was assuming risk but I think it's a calculated risk.

First, I only invest in technologies that I can really stand behind and I truly believe the blockchain and BTC isn't going anywhere for the foreseeable future.

Second, there are so many institutional, retail and government investments in the crypto space I feel secure in my positions. At the end of the day, I find it highly unlikely the floor could drop out from under us but anything is possible.
1248  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Teaching my nephew about Bitcoin on: November 27, 2022, 05:49:56 AM
I think this is a great idea for you to teach your nephew about Bitcoin when he's such a young age. A friend of mine I am trying to become more interested in Bitcoin is a fan of AI so there is something I got for him.
I recommend a book, I really enjoyed ‘The Age of AI: And Our Human Future’ by Henry Kissinger and several other great thinkers as well. I really enjoyed it and if your friend is interested in Crypto like me chances are he’s fascinated by the exploration of all the ways AI will shape our human society.
I have bought tons of books for people over the years and sometimes I do have doubts they read them but I still like giving books because they’re physical and something I can wrap.

1250  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why speculate when you can be at peace with Bitcoin on: November 27, 2022, 04:13:24 AM
Personally, I think It’s rare that any investment will continue to produce significant gains year over year indefinitely without any corrections. On a long enough timeline, your bound to see some fluctuations in the price and right now we’re in a dip.

However, if you look at BTC historic chart you can easily spot that proceeding every dip was healthy gains and eventually a new all time high. My strategy is to be patient, hold long and I’m fairly confident we will see BTC hit 100k by late 2023.
1251  Economy / Speculation / Re: How low will BTC's market price go? on: November 26, 2022, 04:44:46 AM
Well we can’t really say how low will BTC's market price go which is why I understand some investors are very concerned with buying on the dip and selling on the high.  My focus these days is more about finding investments opportunities I firmly believe in and hold long.

For example, as a strong believer in Bitcoin I have rarely fixated much on the price. I have bought at high points and low points but have consistently made money. I think this strategy has served me well because it take away the guess work and greatly reduces risk.
1252  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Best Strategies for Trading. on: November 26, 2022, 04:02:28 AM
I understand the desire to trade crypto and play the swings but personally I have lost more money on any short trades than holding. For example, even the wins in my early days would pale in comparison if I had just held long because I would have more BTC today.

I understand the motivation for short gains but if you really believe in the technology and crypto hitting over 100k (which it inevitably will) I would just hold long and be grateful you made the right choice in the end.
1253  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The market will come back bigger again on: November 23, 2022, 12:27:43 PM
Well during a 'bear market' we must always remember that it is important to not lose faith and know the whole market is not going to vanish. I personally believe bitcoin will reach 100,000 in 2023 or 2024.
I think when people make predictions that it may take until 2025 for BTC to recover they’re just giving very conservative estimates.
It’s fine if you believe in a longer time horizon but I think with an exponential technology like cryptocurrency the rate of adoption will be much faster than many people expect. The one thing we can all agree on is that the future of bitcoin is very bright.
1254  Other / Off-topic / Re: How do you make money online? on: November 23, 2022, 12:03:19 PM
If you’re looking to earn extra money online you have to assess what you enjoy doing. If you’re more hands-on I recommend getting inspired on Etsy, there a lot of things you can make with household items that you can sell easily.

If you’re more comfortable on the computer, I recommend looking into specialty work on-line. If your design skills are good there are lots of part-time opportunities with motion or graphic design.
1255  Other / Off-topic / Re: Bad habits experiences and homemade solutions. on: November 23, 2022, 11:18:59 AM
That’s great that you have quit smoking and I understand how hard it was for you. Quitting smoking is a worthwhile goal of many people so you are ahead of the curve here and your body is thanking you silently for putting putting down this bad habit you had for so many years.

Therefore, it’s great to feel good about your amazing accomplishment but you can never let your guard down. It’s good to remember that you still have to work at it one day at a time.
1256  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Cardano (ADA): A New Cryptocurrency and More on: November 23, 2022, 08:31:47 AM
Early next year in January 2023 Cardano is going to release a regulated Stablecoin called 'Djed'. It will be fiat backed and compliant with all regulations.
I wonder how it will compete with other more known stable coins like USDT, USD Coin, and Binance USD. Maybe I will HODL a few of them to add to my small portfolio of USDT.

1257  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Market is about to pump on: November 23, 2022, 07:45:56 AM
Well the market may be about to dump but still I absolutely think now is a good time to invest in Bitcoin. The market is down right now and if you have the extra fiat I think it's a very sound investment.

Bitcoin has always had corrections but afterwards it consistently rebounds and reaches new highs year after year. I would just say be patient with your hold because BTC will inevitably hit 100k , it's just hard to say if it will be in 2023.

1258  Other / Off-topic / Re: Your screen time on: November 23, 2022, 07:02:15 AM
I definitely have noticed my vision getting worse over the last years as I’ve increased my screen time.  I wear glasses in front of the computer most of the day because I’m staring at screens a lot for my job and that takes the pressure off of them.
After work, I typically wear contacts because it its easier for when I am at the gym and looks nicer when I’m out in my opinion.
1259  Economy / Economics / Re: There is Hope at the End of the Tunnel. Don't Give Up. on: November 22, 2022, 07:29:51 AM
Well for me personally I will not give up hope and know that Is Bitcoin a good platform to invest. Its the people who can not seem to understand Bitcoin who are the ones who doesnt agree with it and see bad things happening so immediately give up on it.

Since Bitcoin is not such a easy topic for everyone to grasp like for example a credit card, it is easier for them to disagree with it then to learn about it and agree with it. I have been surprised with some people who I think would agree with it since they are business people but still they dont think its worth learning about.
1260  Other / Off-topic / Re: How do you guys feel about social media? on: November 22, 2022, 07:01:24 AM
Well other then going on Tik Tok sometimes I am not very active on any social media platforms anymore. Most of my friends are still on Facebook so I tend to use it the most.

However, I usually just use messenger and that’s more for chats and one on one communication. I rarely post anything to my larger ‘friend’ group anymore.

I like using Facebook more for shopping marketplace, food recommendations and local events information.
