1501  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do you spread BTC to people within you on: June 08, 2022, 08:27:55 AM
I recently attended a Friday afterwork function and hung out with some of my colleagues. I don’t normally hang out with most of them and the topic of Bitcoin came up.
Most of them had very little understanding of all the positive benefits of crypto currency and blockchain technology in general.
They asked a lot of questions and I was a bit surprised how well I could go into the details. I’ve been into crypto for so long and I used to be much worse and educating others about it.
You can always tell when people get it from their questions and the way they listen. I’m always very happy to help others when it’s truly appreciated.

1504  Other / Serious discussion / Re: What has football taught you ? on: June 01, 2022, 07:20:21 AM
I think playing football has taught me so many valuable skills and contributed greatly to my success today. I started playing recreationally around 10 years old and played for many years.
Being on a team and aligning on a goal is such a great skill that has translated to everyone of my work projects as an adult. Playing football also taught me a lot of discipline because when you’re young it comes easy but to stay competitive you have to continue to refine your skills.
Having the discipline to continue to improve, even when you don’t feel like it, is something that I carry with me into everything I do today.
1505  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Well, you put your money in your luna if it gets forked? on: June 01, 2022, 07:02:38 AM
I have to say that I would not invest in Luna. The tokens lost 98% so rapidly that I got cold feet. I just can’t trust a company with a record like that. I think it’s really interesting what they’re doing and did read up on Luna quite extensively but in the end I’m passing on this one.

I’m a huge fan of bitcoin and have a strong position. I am open to diversifying a small percentage of my portfolio into interesting projects but Luna just doesn’t qualify with such a dramatic fall. I guess at the end of the day I lost faith in the Terra ecosystem but that’s just me.
1506  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: VPN is important against hackers on: June 01, 2022, 06:49:18 AM
I actually always use a VPN when I’m accessing certain Crypto Related sites. For me it’s an issue of security and my own safety. I have been into bitcoin for many years and when you see enough people get scammed you start to get a little bit paranoid.
I actually fell for a scam once myself so it can really happen to anyone. The best we can do is try to protect ourselves and take all the necessary precautions we can.
If you’re dabbling in a lot of crypto related activities I think using a VPN is just one of those necessary steps that gives you a little peace of mind. Now it’s possible that my VPN provider is selling my data, I just can’t be sure but I still feel safer using it.
1507  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is NFT's hype over? on: June 01, 2022, 06:42:03 AM
I think the NFT revolution is just getting started and we haven’t even begun to see all the interesting ways NFTs can add value. The reality is many of us are highly invested into our digital world. Owning NFTs also has huge benefits in the material world.

If you buy an NFT you can potentially sell it and make a lot of money. There are NFTs for everything and the opportunities are endless. I understand some people don’t get it but when the internet came out people didn’t understand that either.
1508  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is this the end or only the beginning on: June 01, 2022, 06:30:26 AM
I do not think that this is the end of alt coins. I firmly believe alt coins are here to stay. On the other hand this is the time for many companies to exit while the market is down.
There is no doubt in my mind that many companies will not remain financially solvent throughout this coming recession. In my opinion, some companies closing their doors is not an indication that alt coins will go away but perhaps a sign that the market will change.
1509  Other / Serious discussion / Re: What's your opinion on Telegram? on: June 01, 2022, 06:21:07 AM
I’ve expressed how I feel about Telegram before but all I can do is emphasize to others to be careful because I actually got scammed a while back. On the other hand, it can be a very useful tool and it’s great for chatting with some of my friends so I’m not against it.
I think a lot of these platforms can be used for good or bad so I don’t judge Telegram for what happened to me. I guess I was a little too trusting some years back and I’ve learned my lesson. I know some people get hung up on blaming the platform but for me it’s easier to just take responsibility.
I completely acknowledge that I was probably a bit naïve when I was younger and I needed to vet who I was dealing with better.
1510  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is it a good time to start accepting BTC? on: June 01, 2022, 06:15:38 AM
If I owned a business I would absolutely accept Bitcoin regardless of what service, product or industry I was operating in. I’m a huge proponent of cryptocurrencies and the blockchain and I believe BTC is an excellent method to exchange value.

Even more than just accepting cryptocurrencies I would use the Blockchain to help with some of my processes. For example, if I sourced any raw materials to make a certain product, it could be very beneficial to use the Blockchain as a transparent ledger for accountability.
1511  Other / Off-topic / Re: I use my free time to explore and learn crypto on: June 01, 2022, 05:55:00 AM
I love to go on a proper vacation. I don’t get that much time off from my work so when I do get some time off, I really like to do something special. I was recently on vacation and this was the first one since the pandemic. I went to Greece and stayed at an Airbnb.
It was a ton of fun and wasn’t that expensive at all. I checked out a lot of the smaller islands, went sailing, fished a bit and even checked out a few museums. On other trips, I usually like to do something physical like tennis or hiking.
I think a good mix between relaxing by the beach, cultural activities and physical activity are my favorite holidays.
1512  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: The market is confusing on: June 01, 2022, 05:49:48 AM
The market can definitely be confusing. I think most people were expecting a higher BTC price right now. It’s generally hard to predict when the fluctuations will hit and how bad they will be. For example, I was pretty convinced that after all the government overspending during the pandemic and the war in Ukraine we may head into a recession.

I suppose I was correct in seeing that the market was due for a correction but I just didn’t see when it would happen. It’s also hard to predict when the market will pick back up but rest assured it always does and Bitcoin value will rise with it.
1513  Economy / Economics / Re: What happens if BTC's price falls to $8,000? on: May 30, 2022, 08:01:02 AM
I understand the fear that BTC will have another correction to 8k but I see that as a huge buying opportunity. Personally, I’m of the opinion that bitcoin Is here to stay and have faith in the technology being relevant in the foreseeable future.

As more and more corporations invest, governments adopt it as legal currency and innovators find new uses for the blockchain; the value will inevitably increase to new highs. At bottom, I’m a long hold on bitcoin and see any dips as opportunities for others to get in.
1514  Other / Off-topic / Re: What is the last movie you watched? on: May 30, 2022, 07:52:52 AM
I recently streamed Speilberg’s The Post, 2017 and thought it was reasonably entertaining. It's an adult film packed with an all star cast. If you are into drama and enjoy a thriller pace you might enjoy it but don't expect much action, it's more of a character driven slow-burn.

I enjoy Tom Hanks and Maryl Streep and they’re still delivering all star performances. It takes place during the Vietnam Nixon era in the 70s and although historical fiction is not normally my thing, I really enjoyed taking a break from all the fast paced action movies I’ve seen recently.

The movie tackles issues like journalistic ethics and the complicated relationship between government and the news. Watching the work ethic of these editors was very inspiring and makes me want to try harder at work.
1515  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do you think betting on Games/Events/Competition is evil on: May 29, 2022, 05:54:26 AM
I do not think there is anything evil about gambling. In my opinion, there is no problem with enjoying the thrill of gambling as long as it doesn't become a problem. Having a gambling problem is all about consequences and if you are not experiencing any, I think I should be allowed to have some fun.

On the other hand, if you are experiencing negative consequences from your gambling habit, such as financial strain or its affecting your relationships with others, I would say it may be time to consider if it has become a problem. Personally, I think it's good to take a personal inventory of the cost and benefits of gambling but for me its doesn't have many negative consequences.
1516  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 40 high schools in Argentina to launch bitcoin in their curriculum. on: May 29, 2022, 05:47:42 AM
I think it’s so inspirational that Argentina is launching a bitcoin curriculum. So many young people will be future innovators in the cryptocurrency space. These young Argentinians could perhaps be entrepreneurs or future leaders in the new technological revolution we have begun to embark on.

The uses and amazing opportunities of the Blockchain are only beginning to live up to their potential. These students could be the ones to help to dramatically progress this digital revolution.
1517  Other / Off-topic / Re: Can good sex without money keep a marriage on: May 29, 2022, 05:34:28 AM
I think sex and money are really important but not for everyone as a general rule. I think many people are perfectly satisfied in a marriage with very little sex and sometimes very little money.

Personally, I require quite a bit of sex to feel satisfied in a long-term relationship. And I also am quite ambitious so I think money is pretty important for getting some of my basic needs met.

However, people have very different needs and we shouldn’t judge others for choosing to live without sex or not craving luxury.
1518  Other / Off-topic / Re: Nobody is ugly on: May 29, 2022, 05:21:58 AM
When it comes to physical beauty I believe no one is ugly. Being beautiful is about radiating a positive attitude and being good to others. Every human is unique and we all have special qualities and something to contribute.
And physical beauty is definitely distinct from being attracted to somebody. On the other hand, a person can be ugly if they treat others without respect and dignity.
1519  Other / Off-topic / Re: Cultivate an habit of saving on: May 29, 2022, 05:07:51 AM
I agree that saving money is important but it's hard to make a general rule out of it. First, many of us are in different parts of our financial journey and that’s perfectly ok.
If you are at a stage where your earnings allow you to save, I would definitely recommend putting some of your excess funds into savings and/or investments because life is very unpredictable and can turn on a dime.
On the other hand, if your earnings are so low that saving means you aren't getting your basic needs met, I would not recommend sacrificing your physical or emotional health just to save for your future.
1520  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin a safe haven??? on: May 20, 2022, 07:45:30 AM
I believe Bitcoin is one of the safest asset classes to hedge against inflation. The government has pumped trillions of dollars into the economy during the pandemic and now even more spending with the war in Ukraine.
All this government spending depreciates the value of the dollar significantly. Alternatively, BTC is limited in supply and I believe this recession will not significantly affect the price. Better still, an investment in BTC will likely appreciate dramatically over time.
The price is low right now and it’s definitely one the best positions to be in for the next few years.
