1521  Other / Off-topic / Re: I can do divination. How can I make money on: May 20, 2022, 07:28:48 AM
I am open to the idea of divination. The underlying concept of seeing things before they happen seems plausible to me. I think it has a lot to do with perspective. For example, when Leonardo Da Vinci predicted and drafted up drawings for the helicopter hundreds of years ago, most people just couldn't see things from that technologically minded perspective. On the other hand, I don't know how to feel about fortune tellers or others claiming to see the future. I suppose there are things I just don't understand and I like to remain open even though it is probably unlikely they can see anything I can’t.
1522  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Who’s itching to buy? on: May 20, 2022, 06:55:41 AM
The thought of stacking up my coins is always on my mind. With prices so cheap right now, I’ve been telling my family and friends that this is their time to get in. Over the years, so many of those closest to me have been asking me about Bitcoin but many havent invested because they say that I got early. What they don’t understand is, it’s not necessary that I got in early, I just got in when prices were cheaper. Now, with prices so good, I am definitely itching to pick up more. I hope those closest to me take this opportunity to get in because this is a great time to buy.
1523  Other / Off-topic / Re: Would you buy EV? on: May 20, 2022, 06:44:58 AM
I absolutely recommend installing a home charger for your electric vehicle for several reasons. First, my friends is surprisingly fast at charging his car and he does not have a rapid charger. In my opinion it seems to be faster than many of the chargers at his office. Second, it is so convenient and easy to use. Plug in your car everytime you come home and it really is a seamless process. No need to stress out a bit about not letting the battery get too low before you come home but instead don't even think about it anymore. Lastly, it's significantly cheaper. My friend says he was spending a ton on rapid charging and rarely does that anymore. On the other hand, it's probably slower at home but with my other costs going up, try to save as much as I can.

1525  Economy / Speculation / Re: Don’t rush to buy Bitcoin on: May 20, 2022, 06:30:51 AM
I have a really good friend of mine who bought a ton of Bitcoin and some alt coins right before this crash. He has a lot of anxiety about it because he hasn't seen this kind of thing before. As someone who's been heavily into crypto for years, I keep telling him not to worry because I have seen so many corrections over the years but he keeps looking at his wallet.
I probably give him the same advice weekly: BTC is a long hold, just wait it out. I tell him, I don't even look at my wallet anymore. It’s a revolutionary technology, you have to understand that corrections are a natural part of crypto and its growth potential is still huge.
1526  Other / Off-topic / Re: Top books you have to read on: May 20, 2022, 06:24:21 AM
My favorite book that I read recently was, The Judge’s List by John Grisham. I enjoy the legal/suspense genre and I picked up Grisham's last one, “The Whistler” some years back at an airport and remember not being able to put it down.
When I heard there was a follow up with some of the same characters, I knew I was going to read this one eventually. It has all the elements of the genre I enjoy, there’s a murderer and looming danger because you never really know if the investigator is going to become the next victim.
I just like how clever the lead character Lacy is, always one step ahead of the cops but struggling to find the evidence to convict the murderer etc. It’s smart and well written, I highly recommend it for those into this kind of fiction.
1527  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bearish market continues? on: May 12, 2022, 08:33:15 AM
The world economy is in shambles right now and I know how you feel. For me with food and gas prices rising, it feels like the end of the world. On the other hand, we’ve seen this before many, many times. Corrections are a natural part of Bitcoin and it consistently recovers every time and then reaches new highs.
Just be patient and remember with the war in Ukraine and the effects of massive overspending from the pandemic it may take some time but rest assured the market will rise.
1528  Economy / Speculation / Re: A Little Surprised! on: May 12, 2022, 08:28:09 AM
I did expect Bitcoin to be at $50k at this point but I was not expecting a lot of the world events that seem to have unfolded - things have gotten bad. With the state of the world economy everyone seems to be taking a hit. I know a lot of people hurting that are wrapped up in the market. Luckily for me I am a long hold on BTC so I feel really good about my position and don’t have a problem with corrections. Just be patient and stay the course. That method has served me best.

The other night I caught ‘Return to Space’ (2020) on Netflix and really enjoyed it. It’s a fairly entertaining documentary focusing on Elon Musk and SpaceX successfully launching people to space.

I like Musk and although I’m not convinced spending so much money on space travel is the best use of resources for people like me on planet earth, I like that Elon believes so much in the cause. You can’t help but feel a bit inspired watching people accomplish such great feats.
1531  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why Bitcoin price is falling? on: May 06, 2022, 06:51:43 AM
I understand being concerned with BTC price volatility. It’s definitely in a correction right now but give it some time. I suspect it has to do more with the world economy and war in Ukraine than anything else. I recommend being patient and holding long as BTC is bound to reach record highs in the near future. If you look at the price historically it consistently reaches new highs after a correction as adoption and uses for the blockchain is growing.
1532  Economy / Economics / Re: Share your Money management strategy on: May 06, 2022, 06:39:16 AM
My strategy for managing my money is actually quite simple. Every month I put aside a certain amount of my income and use that for various investments. Right now I’m heavily invested long term in Bitcoin but I also am looking into diversifying my portfolio and putting some of my net worth into a condo. I have tried the stock market a lot in the past but I suspect with the world economy in shambles after the corona pandemic and the war in Ukraine, buying property and buying crypto is best.
1533  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Concern of illegal use of crypto on: May 06, 2022, 06:24:08 AM
I am aware that Bitcoin has been used by people engaging in illegal activities and it does bother me. However, I have never done anything illegal with crypto so it’s not that relevant to me personally. I guess I’m concerned it gives the entire crypto space a bad reputation when this kind of thing happens. I fear people may start blaming BTC over a few bad apples and that’s potentially bad for long term investors like me.
1534  Other / Off-topic / Re: What's Next!?!? on: May 06, 2022, 06:10:45 AM
I think the next big thing is AI and I’m most interested in how it will affect the future of work. As we’ve all heard many service jobs will be made redundant but what I’m more interested in is jobs that will utilize intelligent robots and AI to optimize and assist humans in their work.
Many jobs could be made more efficient and I suspect with this new technology the traditional 8 hour work day will seem anachronistic.
1535  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: airdrops never make money on: May 01, 2022, 06:41:02 AM
To be honest, I gave up on Airdrops a while ago after never really being able to cash out. In my opinion, if these were solid projects the free tokens would be worth more. However, mostly the projects are poor and just don't translate to real value. I’m really interested in what’s going on in the space and try to stay up to date but at the end of the day, I’m just looking to grow my Bitcoin. I’m a long hold on BTC so if I can sell tokens, I do and end up buying BTC and try not to look at my wallet very often. I try and stay away from investments that don’t give solid returns. Alternatively, BTC has consistently delivered great returns over the long run.
1536  Other / Off-topic / Re: Elon Musk Purchases Twitter for $44 Billion 😍😍😍 on: May 01, 2022, 06:15:06 AM
I think it's great that Elon Musk bought Twitter for an important reason. Firstly, the fact that we have freedom of speech as a right is absolutely amazing but in practice we’re not being delivered on that promise. Social media has now become so ingrained in our lives that we depend on it for our expressing our ideas and in principle our thinking. Taking Twitter private is the best way to ensure that our freedoms last into the new digital age.
1537  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to grow my wallet? on: May 01, 2022, 06:09:27 AM
I totally understand the desire to grow your wallet. Sometimes with investments it can feel like a lower balance is evidence you’re not meeting your goals, especially at the beginning. My advice is to try not to focus on the balance and redirect all your focus on how you can acquire more BTC.
Store your coins for the long haul and try not to look at your wallet too often. If you keep building and putting away Bitcoin it will grow exponentially in the coming year as inflation takes off.
1538  Other / Off-topic / Re: Elon Musk is a Sissy-Bitch on: May 01, 2022, 05:53:08 AM
I like Elon Musk but I realize he gets a lot of hate out there. First, I think he's great for Bitcoin. He’s been consistently endorsing crypto publicly for years and that’s great for people invested like me. He gives BTC a lot of credibility and clearly sees the value of the technology. I also like that he builds great products and services. I don't personally own a Tesla but it's hard to argue they aren't great cars. Lastly, he's a huge advocate for free speech and I think that is a bedrock principle for a successful democracy. As difficult as it is to hear differing views, especially from people you don't like, I think free speech is essential for keeping the country united.
1539  Other / Off-topic / Re: Im looking for good compfortable car asap on: May 01, 2022, 05:46:32 AM
I like the new Volvos but I realize everyone has different tastes, budgets and needs. I was considering the Tesla 3 series for a while but I decided against it. First, there are so many around now, I just didn't think it was unique enough for me.
Then I started looking at compact SUVs and found the Volvo XC40 and just knew I had to have it. I absolutely love it, it’s super fresh and modern but most importantly it doesn't look like I’m trying to show off.
I work in a creative industry where it’s all about personal self-expression and I wanted something that looks and drives amazing but is a little distinctive.
1540  Economy / Economics / Re: Read If you are between 18 and 68 years old! on: April 24, 2022, 07:30:33 AM
My long term financial goals are pretty simple. I definitely want more financial freedom and I see that as the key. It's not that I'm focused on retiring early necessary but I certainly don't want to be working for other people at an older age.
I think owning a home, having substantial savings put away and gaining access to make money remotely and independently are my main objectives. In truth, I envy people that love working for other people because then I would probably just focus on what I'm doing now for work and waiting for retirement age.
However, I'm an independent person and I don't thrive in environments where I am stuck under someone else's thumb. I would love the next chapter of my life to not only be devoted to earning more but also about spending time in peoples company I enjoy but maybe I'm just simple at heart.
