Hey dumb question lol, when I want to upgrade to latest wallet version, do I simply install from directory and will it simply up date relevant wallet files and preserve all coins, addresses and uploaded files? or is there more to do such as a backup and if so what is the best way to back up all wallet data before wallet version upgrade? I have ideas but not sure 100% THX Maybe I missed that part I saved a copy the entire UI folder from my roaming directory and saved a copy of the current wallet, both saved off of my main HDD just to be safe. But simply opening the new wallet worked just fine, all coins preserved and i immediately was synced up.

Hello guys, How's your mining going? Is it stable & going smoothly all day/night long? Mine is not stable even with those newer version of miner/wallet. Although it takes litter more time to go black screen than with older version.
Too soon to tell for me but I am getting half the hashrate with the new wallet and miner.......

All 5 wallets I want to upgrade have coins now. Also, I assume then, that the payout addresses upgrade and any unconfirmed coins will make it into the new upgraded wallet? I am going to back up original directory and UI from roaming first just to be safe! try upgrade on wallet first with least amount of coins

Another question: I want to transfer all coins out of wallets from miners to a central non mining laptop wallet. How do I get that address of storage wallet into my other wallets to send coins too? Wallet addresses in wallets, I am unable to copy, I am trying to copy an address from my new storage wallet but have no way to copy and paste-- into the send box on the other wallets.... Any ideas? maybe I missed that too

Follow up: Well that sucks, did the wallet upgrade and now coins and previous addresses are gone??? SO the wallet upgrades will wipe out coins in old version AND probably loose and unconfirmed payouts from mining since it created new address......... this ain't gonna cut it! lol I guess I am thinking I will try removing newer upgraded UI from roaming and stick back in the old one I backed up and see what it does then? Let ya know EDIT: Ok, just put back in the roaming folder from my backed up UI and still no coins and new addresses are still showing and I expect unconfirmed mined coins from old wallet will not be received as payouts since they where mined from the previous version wallet? Is this right? If so we got a problem Houston!! ***So forget upgrading a wallet if you have coins or data. You will loose coins and you will loose any outstanding payouts from mining as well, safe to assume. I put my old UI back in roaming, launched the old wallet from its directory but still have older version wallet again..... coins and address is back. Dev we need guidance here on this, how are we to upgrade to newer wallet versions in light of all this? THX

Let ya know Huh?? No. I had no issue. I left the old UI in the roaming folder and just used the new wallet. Essentially, the saving was precautionary but I really needed to do nothing. Just deleted the wallet folder that I keep on my desktop and replaced it with the new one. Opened the new one and it had all my coins and addresses from before. I had nothing still confirming so that was not an issue.

( I did not delete the old directory as I was launching wallet from its new directory) What wallet version did you upgrade too? I am using upgrade to 3.3.1

Wait for Taek or someone to respond or get on #siatalk for help from the pros i guess. You saved the original files and should be okay. I would guess that placing the old UI back into roaming and rebooting would help but I don't want to recommend anything at this point. Probably a registry issue.

OK, back to other question, how do I send coins from one wallet to another if I cant copy the receiving wallets address? You should be able to get the wallet address from http://localhost:9980/wallet/statusCopy function works from there...

Maybe they will work on that too, ok good idea I will try that as I had not thought of that THX!
