Some interesting results today i didn't expect shevshenko vs medvedev game to be so close and entertaining, what a month for the young russian, speaking of good performance cachin won today and what a performance he is showing on madrid tournament after his 2 0 win against cerundolo he won again today 2 0 against Tiafoe despite being a heavy underdog on both games next he will face struff and i think he has a good chance of beating him too.

Watching Swiatek v Alexandrova right now. Interesting match, this one. Swiatek took the first set relatively easy 6:4 and was ahead 5:2 in the second. Then something happened and she started losing game after game and got to 5:5. Swiatek took her serve 6:5 but Alexandrova won her's and took it to the tie break. She was leading 3:0 and finally managed to win it 7:3. Now can't wait for the deciding set - this will be entertaining!

Followed this match between Medvedev and Shevchenko while it was 1-5 in the first set. And some how he brought it all the back to 4-5 but lost.
Then the second set was all Daniil taking it convincingly. The third and final set was very rocky for the Russian as he went down 4-2 but took it 5-7.
So that makes it 8-0 for Medvedev when it comes to deciding sets to win the match so far this tennis season.
Remember he dropped 4 in a row last year when it took three sets to close it. This is a very bad record to hold of the 2022 season going 8-11.

I saw these statistics displayed on the television screen, and his experience was enough to help him get out of every pressure, especially when his opponent this time was a young player who still lacked experience, but to be honest, it must be said that this young player appeared extraordinary and could put up a fight so that the match had to last 3 set because I had predicted this would only be a very easy match for Medvedev.

Finally she was able to finish this long match, in the third set it was relatively early, she had trouble getting her game but she was able to overcome her opponent after that, seeing Iga lose a set on clay was quite surprising because normally her opponent would find it difficult to put up a fight because clay has always been her favourite, and Ekatarina might not be reckoned with much in big tournaments but she often troubles the top players like she did in this match

I just came across the shocking news on the local online portal that Djokovic will not be able to compete in the US Open this year after all.
It seems that the American government, despite the different recommendation of the American Congress, has not decided to completely abolish the pandemic measures for the entry of foreigners into the country, but only to soften them.
It appears that the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) has decided to only update the rules, but not to abolish them entirely.
The CDC has decided that as of August 16, one dose of the bivalent vaccine will be sufficient to enter the US.
This means that Djokovic, who has not been vaccinated, will still not be able to enter the country, despite different announcements recently.

Djokovic's attitude is very irresponsible, he must take seriously and respect the laws of other countries and including his country, when countries say that people must be vaccinated then people must be vaccinated, rules are to be followed, laws are to be fulfilled, he is a professional athlete, he knows that it is forbidden to use drugs in order not to get tired easily, so he does not use drugs because he fears being penalized, so what makes him think that with vaccines he should be an exception? I wouldn't really agree with you. The Center for Disease Control (CDC) made a completely different decision a few days ago, that unvaccinated travelers still cannot travel to America, despite the different decision of the US Congress from February this year.
It seemed that the Covid rules for travel to America would not change and that Djokovic would still not be able to play at the US Open.
Fortunately, the US government, the Department of Homeland Security, decided yesterday not to implement the decision of the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and lift all Covid travel restrictions to America.
Until this statement from the White House from yesterday, it was completely uncertain what the final decision of the US government would be on this issue.

Thanks. I am not 100% familiar with the topic. My last update (2 or 3 monts ago) was that on 11 May all restrictions will be fall. I did not know that there were other discussions about this in the last few days and that several authorities were involved. Thank you for the clarification.

To return to the topic of tennis. Khachanov won against Rublev. He only needed two sets. Karatsev and Medvedev are currently playing each other. The favourite is not leading in this match too and there seems to be a surprise.

He hasn't looked fit yet or Alcaraz is too superiro in this tournament so there is no chance for Zverev to improve in yesterday's match, he made so many mistakes, that makes this match is not a very balanced and also not interesting because Alcaraz beat him easily, after this tournament it will be come the Rome Open he will definitely try to do better there before the grand slam tournament.
Anyone who watched the Fritz vs Zhang match would be surprised to see how the Chinese tennis player managed to take the match into three sets after he was beaten quite easily by Fritz in the first set. His journey in this tournament has not stopped even though he had to go through 3 matches with decisive sets and Zhang was able to beat his opponent despite being under pressure. His next opponent will be Aslan Karatsev who will go to the quarterfinals after beating Medvedev in two sets. This quarterfinal match will be very exciting considering both of them are unseeded players, even though Karatsev has already won tittle a very different from Zhang, who since joining pro this is will be his best result in his tennis career.
This time quite a few surprises and with 4 unseeded players in the quarterfinals maybe we will see one of them make it to the final and I think Karatsev has that chance.

That was an teaching hour for Zverev. Zverev had no chance and could not force any mistakes from Alcaraz. The match showed that he is far from being in top form and still needs to train and play a lot so that he can play very well in Paris. In any case that was the goal he set himself.

I think this is a real low odd for that situation.

Completely agree. another useful strategy is to "lay" the favorite (using an exchange like betfair).
there is a low risk as amount played but potentially a very high return. only a break point/a lost set and the odds of the favorite triple/quadruple in a matter of minutes.

And we have seen it so many times with Federer, Nadal and Djokovic where they
come close to losing a match but are able to dig deep, never give up and fully
believe they can rescue a possible lost match.

Alcaraz clearly has it, Tsitsipas and Medvedev I believe have that attitude but dont
have that extra talent, Medvedev has it on hard courts though, clay is not his favourite
type of playing surface.
