I thought that the acquisition of Christian Wood will make the Mavericks better than last season, but I guess I was wrong.

We can't say that's a wrong impression already. We are only at around 1/4 of the whole season and there is still more time to see if some good changes will happen on the way, not just for Christian Wood but for the whole Mavericks. The real battle is on the playoffs if only they will able to make it.

Maybe the Mavericks should consider putting Wood as a starter for a change. This season, he only played as a starter for 3 games out of 28 games. Although his average playing time is somehow decent, there might be a good rhythm right away if Wood will able to flex his performance at the very start of the game.

Warriors is tanking faster as I expected. They don't just lose but they got completely destroyed. First New York and now Brooklyn put ridiculously high numbers on their basket. Nets made almost 30 points gap in first quarter. That first half 91 points was the franchise record for Nets. In third period Nets slow down for obvious reasons and Warriors made the gap to just 21 points but it went up again after Patty Mills came in. Morris also scored with high percentage. Durant and other starters rested for last quarter.

Knicks' 8 game winning streak end tonight but Nets have 7 game streak now. Let's see if they can pass this. It might be close for them as well as they will play with Bucks and Cavs back to back. It's hard to recover from that fixture.

You can’t just lose the best shooter of all time and expect your team to continue playing at the same level. Not having Stephen Curry is a massive loss and I expect it’s going to be rough in for the Warriors until he returns. They should still be able to beat the below .500 teams and hopefully can keep themselves in the playoff race for when they get Steph back.

That's very important, they should also win some games so they'll be able to have a decent standing when Curry returns. Right now, they are playing like a very bad team, they lose by a huge margin and you can tell they already loss their competitiveness.

Looks like Curry will not be able to come back anytime soon as per this article.

Steph Curry may be out till after the New Year

That means the Warriors will continue to struggle, it's sad to see them like that but I still believe that this team will make it to the playoffs. The more they fall the better there odds are if we like to bet on the NBA Future. As per the NBA Winner betting odds, they are still at the top 3 with 9.00 odds, so bookies also believe that this struggle are just temporary.

The decline in Boston Celtics surprises me. Lost to Orlando in two games in a row. It was surprising to me that he was defeated in his own field. In last night's game, he lost to the Indiana Pacers at home this time and dropped to second place in the eastern conference. The out-of-form Orlando defeats in particular are staggering. I hope it gets better soon because my championship favorite is Boston. Los Angeles Lakers lost 134-120 to Sacramento in the same away game.

That was completely a blowout and looks like they won't recover from these straight losses soon since they can't seem to find their way to win some games to increase their spot in the western conference this year. The good thing is they are up against the Lakers because AD is out and both these teams are really struggling to catch up because of injuries. We are not yet crossing the mid of the season but if they cannot play well in the upcoming games in the upcoming months, we might consider them out in playing the NBA playoffs.

They lose again and they are not anymore in the number 1 team in the East, Nets had already taken their position. Boston are 4-6 in their last 10 games, they should improve their game so they will again gain their original spot.

Los Angeles Lakers lost 134-120 to Sacramento in the same away game.

Yeah, that's too bad for them, they lose their defense, and that's very obvious as they allow the Kings to score 134 points in this game.

Their defense is bad, yes, but Anthony Davis and Russell Westbrook still haven't returned to the team. Injuries affect the team. Especially since this duo does not have top level players, I think they are defeated. LeBron James alone is not enough. Sometimes Dennis Schoreder contributes to the score by scoring more. He scored 18 points in this game. If he had scored around 30-35, Los Angeles still wouldn't have lost the game that easily.

But unfortunately we rarely see Schroeder scores that big as he is dominated by LBJ in terms of ball touches also with scoring numbers so this is total defeat on their side and it shows that they really need Davis to get more wins on their side. Lebron cannot carry his team anymore as he get old already do maybe he need his teammate to step up on this while Davis and Westbrook is not on the line up.

Worst, they don't have Wiggins, two of their high-paid players are gone so I would not expect much from them.
The only wins they could make is if Jordan Poole can go hot but that's just too much for him as he is not really consistent yet. Well, he is young so he will learn more.
Who else is out there in the Warriors team where we could expect to have that offensive effectiveness? None. Klay Thompson is also in and out.
Maybe I will try going back betting for them when they let Wiggins play, but I would still take a handicap just to be sure.

Kinda sad to see Warriors era fading away , as Nets simply destroyed them in first half last night as they had 91 points and game was basically over. Now , for Nets , I think is just a redemption era when they will give everything they got left for the fans , ORG of Nets and maybe even haters as there are still a lot of voices thinking that Nets are a flop but this ain't right anymore.

My team Bulls , 2 wins in a row ? heheh ,thinks are looking juicy again.  Cool

Maybe I will try going back betting for them when they let Wiggins play, but I would still take a handicap just to be sure.

all of this says is how valuable Curry is and should be their MVP.  every game he plays they are competitive when he is out on the exact same team people now are saying GSW is tanking.

I tried to research it but there is still no official report yet concerning Anthony Davis's injury. It is just a hint from Brian Windhorst. Will keep a positive outlook until the official reports come in. But if Davis is really out longer than one month, that will really hurt the Lakers' chance to even get illegible for the play-in. The surge of win they had lately was on the back of a great performance coming from Anthony Davis. It will be hard to fill that up with the roster the Lakers have right now. We may see a losing skid against from the Lakers.

The Lakers' upcoming schedule will be pretty tight, considering they will play 6 games until the end of December. So even if Davis misses only 1 month due to injury, it will still negatively affect the Lakers' results, and their chances of reaching at least the play-in tournament would likely be minimal.
Anyway, let's hope the Lakers' remaining healthy players will be able to perform well enough to avoid another losing streak.

Aside from Anthony Davis's situation that will directly affect the rosters situation, it seems to me that they will be making a huge move in the upcoming trade. There's so many names surfacing but none of them are guaranteed as of now that will be traded, just hopefully they won't get another star that will make the team's situation much harder as the reality will be much different from what they expected.

It's because Curry has injured himself and team is not the same anymore, at least their second unit, and some of them are playing way below expectations. And then are facing a good team from the East, that's why they are going blown away.

Let's wait till Curry gets back, maybe before the All Star break and turn the team around. Or at least make the play in or play off, otherwise they will be out this season. And then think about it again, just like a couple of season ago wherein they didn't make it to the play off but did became a champion after that.

1-4 in their last 5 games. So yeah, definitely something is wrong with the system that they have built, and most of their loses in that span comes from a bad team and in their home court, so that is bad already.

Just like against the Pacers, they were down 20 points in the first quarter alone. And they try to do catch up, but Pacers remains tough in the game even if their lead is going down specially in the 4th. Don't know what kind of adjustments they have to make right now, but they need a quick fix and stop the bleeding.

Worst, they don't have Wiggins, two of their high-paid players are gone so I would not expect much from them.

Honestly, the Warriors look too weak without Curry, Wiggins, and Thompson. As for Poole, his performance last game against the Nets was disgusting, considering he only made 1 of 11 three-point shots and 7 turnovers. So you're right that Poole is still inconsistent, and that's a problem because he should be the leader of the team when Curry and other key players are absent.

Can Jordan Poole repeat what he did against the Raptors or will this just be another game to give up without Steph Curry around?
I want to see a new face stepping up his game, maybe Moody, Lamb, or Kuminga. Just to fill the missing piece while their injured players are resting.
Jordan Poole is very talented but Curry is a legend who can do it night in and night out.  It takes years to get to that level.
40+ night in and night out is tough to pull off even with the likes of Curry or any other legends. Jordan Poole is already doing 20 to 30 a night and has been consistent with that range lately.
Quote
It's one thing to be the 3rd option and get your shots in but when teams are game planning for you it's a whole different level which is why you need the superstar guys who can do it when other teams game plan to stop them.
Right but we already know the GSW system doesn't just rely on too many ISO plays. They are pretty good at ball distribution and setting up screens which allows many opportunities for open shots so any defensive plays aimed at stopping just one player like Poole isn't really going to work long-term.

That's right, you're not wrong at all. As long as a player can successfully take responsibility for himself in the absence of Stephen Curry, then I do not think there is a problem so long as he is able to do so successfully. In fact, I am looking forward to seeing the Warriors play their next game. Specifically, I would like to see if Poole can actually perform as well as he did in the last game or if someone else needs to take on that responsibility.

Aside from successfully taking that responsibility, consistency is as well needed because anyone can take any responsibility but the question will be, will that player be efficient in his new role and responsibility? So far, the Warriors doesn't have any troubles because one of them, Jordan Poole is taking a step further to fill Curry's absence and with the help of the rest of the roster, I bet they will still making wins along the way.

Later, they will face the Brooklyn Nets. Poole has been leading the team for the 2 consecutive games already, let's see how they will manage the situation later.

Poole is doing great but it wasn't that long ago he was in D league and he is still learning as he goes.  Draymond and Klay have the most experience and should be the main ones to be relied on during Curry absence.  If they get great games from Poole that is good for them but this is his first time in this situation so the results are going to be unknown.  Without 1 of 2 vets somewhere close to being leading scorers I don't see how they can get consistent wins because they aren't getting the team scoring needed to win games?

I understand what you are trying to get into, but even the likes of Klay Thompson and Draymond Green cannot lift the team alone and bring it to the win. Safe to say that they still needed some help from the rest of the rosters, like Wiggins and Poole. Those 2 vets alone can't do everything, that's already a fact this season especially now that Green is not that dominant anymore while Klay is having some inconsistencies on his play.

It is obvious that they are temporarily bad, but lets not act as if they were winning every game before Steph got injured, they were out of the playoff picture even without him, and even worse without him now. So that puts us into a position where it's going to end up with something that is going to cause a lot of trouble for everyone, which is Warriors missing the playoffs after a title.

Lakers did that for example, won in 2020 and failed in 2021, and same could be with Warriors now. I hope that it doesn't start a trend where teams go for all-in stakes and win once and then get destroyed after their title, it would be a bad thing for NBA and overall viewership.

You bet! I saw Looney step up his game and they won, that's the time he almost got a triple-double. But that is not a consistent thing and this is their problem, Curry is consistent, and Wiggins became consistent too but both are not available, and there's no one next to them that has the consistent firepower they do.

About the Nets, yes that's correct, after a change in their head coach there seems to be more respect in their environment. But this doesn't prove it's Steve Nash who is causing the problem, I still think it's the stars against the coach, and once Jacque Vaughn makes a mistake he will end up the same as what did to Steve, I wish not.
