Isn't it possible to use an offline PC to sign the transaction using electrum+trezor and broadcast the transaction on a online PC I too thought that was possible, but it's not.

My bad, I didn't leave the quotes for the whole discussion in the post.

My bad, I didn't leave the quotes for the whole discussion in the post. Why are so keen in protecting your Extended Public key? Please educate me. I was under the impression that only protection of the Private keys was important. Yep, privacy. 1. The 3rd parties who broadcast your Trezor transactions for you necessarily know the xpub (and possibly the entire public key seed too). That information could be used to discover all the money you have/had with that Trezor seed. 2. If you want to use "Sign in with Trezor", depending on the way that scheme is implemented, could also reveal xpub or public key seed to the services you use it to sign in with. That provides a possible way to link your website profiles together (and the email, real name, real address, other real world info etc), and also to link those profiles with all the money you have/had with that Trezor seed. I realise there are good reasons to trust MyTrezor.com, an Electrum server or a miner you resolve your Multibit SPV transactions with. But that doesn't account for hacks/mistakes at their end. My preference would be to eliminate the need to trust those people with the xpub information altogether. Rule #1 of keeping information off the internet: don't even make the information available to begin with.

1) Use different password for all of your big bucks BTC and your spending money, try to minimize 3rd party exposure with big bucks BTC 2) For sign in use different password 3) Don't buy a house, previous owner knows exactly how much money you've atleast had to buy the house 4) Don't buy a car, dealer knows exactly how .... 5) When buying food, always try to pay the exact amount required, because otherwise the teller knows the amount of change you are carrying. Luckily for human kind, most of them like to brag about how much they've got. But an interesting question nonetheless, it should be fairly simple to sign a transaction offline using Trezor somehow...and broadcast it using your own full node. Sombody just has to write a couple of lines of code. But now for the bigger problem, how are we going to protect our privacy at the bank, so that people that work at the bank don't stare all night at parties, because they know exactly how much money you've got too.

Is there a wallet Trezor works with now that does protect xpub information?

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=122438.msg11909710#msg11909710You would also need to setup an Electrum wallet configured with network settings that will access your personal Electrum server exclusively. You're responsible for all your own mistakes if you attempt to do all this.

It looks like if using myTrezor.com through Firefox I am unable to select inputs. Am I missing some hidden options or would my best bet be to use Electrum? I already use Electrum as my "day to day" wallet, however it looks to be in need of an update and obviously synced with the device.

If you already use electrum it's just the step of enabling trezor plugin and creating a new "hardware wallet". Then you have full electrum coin control features with your trezor wallet.

Thanks guys and keep up a good work.

Encompass wallet - Litecoin and DASH as well as Bitcoin http://doc.satoshilabs.com/trezor-apps/I wasn't aware this was possible with a trezor. It's great as those are the two coins I would want supported. Monero too, but that's a different kettle of fish!
