The trezor is not plug and use with electrum I have now seen.
Ok now I have tried to find out how to use Electrum with Trezor and it seems that all you have to do is import the public key that is foind in the Trezor device to the Electrum sortware wallet. I tried to setup the new wallet and selected the hardware wallet option but then it only gives the option to setup a ledger hardware wallet. I did not even know what a lefger hardware wallet was and then I searched and found this is a smaller competitor to the Trezor and it seems to be a lower quality item. Why does the Electrum software not have an option to setup a Trezor hardware wallet? Note: using Electrum 2.5.4
You may want to follow this tutorial on reddit. You need to install python-trezor, to have Trezor support in electrum. Don't enter the Trezor seed in Electrum, as this would make you vulnerable to key loggers. If electrum asks for the seed, you haven't picked the right right option to setup Trezor as a hardware wallet. Very good advice, I am going to try and I will update here after. Thank you friends

I know that Trezor does not work straight with Electrum 2.5.4 because I have tried it and also when I tried to setup a harware wallet the only option was to create a ledger wallet and this is not the same as a Trezor wallet obviously.
I followed the tutorial on reddit and I got an error and was not able to do complete the instal.
Reading package lists... Error! E: Encountered a section with no Package: header E: Problem with MergeList /var/lib/apt/lists/archive.ubuntu.com_ubuntu_dists_trusty_main_i18n_Translation-en E: The package lists or status file could not be parsed or opened.
I hope people can help because this information is needed and will be needed by many people in the future as the Trezor wallet use grows. Thank you to any genius who can help!!

Trezor works fine with Electrum 2.5.4 in Windows. I posted the instructions for Windows users here. When I get time I will verify the procedure on Linux.

If someone with satoshilabs firmware signing key steals a trezor, can they extract mnemonic without needing to enter the pin?

No. Once set up you cannot again display or extract the seed even with the PIN.

SL uses multisig for their firmware, but yes the mnemonic secret is stored in plain text in the metadata sector https://github.com/trezor/trezor-mcu/blob/master/memory.h#L32Signed firmware (apart from a version downgrade) will preserve the mnemonic, so malicious signed firmware can trivially expose it. (But they would need to steal multiple SL keys)

Is it possible to purchase a trezor that always wipes the mnemonic when the firmware is upgraded?

Trezor's security model is that the 24 word mnemonic is only to be used for recovery in the event of a doom's day apocalypse scenario Is it possible to purchase a trezor that always wipes the mnemonic when the firmware is upgraded?
There is a Trezor clone which uses a scrambled keyboard mnemonic recovery method which is safe to use even on a compromised PC, such that one advertised usage case is to wipe the device's flash in between uses, and recover to spend each time.

For the terminally curious AussieHash is referring to a reddit discussion you can read here. Here is the quote: On KeepKey, you don't even need to store your private key on the device. The recovery process is secure enough, that you can use it only as a transactional device for your paper (recovery sentence) wallet. Then just wipe the device after each use.

The trezor is compatible with several altcoins, such as litecoin, namecoin and dogecoin. Can these coins be stored on the device with btc simultaneously?
How does the recovery process work for the altcoins? Do you also get a 24 word seed for those keys?

I think Encompass wallet with Trezor is what you need: http://doc.satoshilabs.com/trezor-apps/encompass.html

There's nothing special you have to do. I think Trezor handles different coins automatically, as long as you log out of each wallet/coin before logging into another one. In this example, a user created a Dash wallet using Electrum-Dash, and then logged out of it and went to MyTrezor and simply created a Bitcoin wallet. Using Trezor with Dash / BTC (Parallel on 1 Device) https://dashpay.atlassian.net/wiki/pages/viewpage.action?pageId=19759304

I seem to be having an issue with my Trezor... When I plug it in and try to do anything on either MyTrezor or Electrum I run into issues. On Electrum it says "Trezor not detected" and in MyTrezor it says "Please wait a few seconds". Obviously I've waited a few minutes and nothing happened.
The device is being detected in Windows just fine, and when I was prompted to enter my passcode on the MyTrezor beta wallet, I was able to enter it and load up my accounts no problem. However if I want to do anything else, I get the "Please wait" message that doesn't go away. Any ideas of what might be causing this issue? I've tried different USB cables, different USB ports, as well as restarting my computer.
I guess posting about it fixed it. Seems to have randomly started working well now, not sure what the problem was.

Most likely a twitchy USB cable. Good quality cables do make a difference.

Both transactions are confirmed on the blockchain? What wallet are you using your Trezor with, the online myTrezor.com?

The strange thing is that I've sent a small ammount to the same address where the 2 transactions are missing and this small ammount is showing up. Weird...

Trezor seems to be having a problem with the BitsOfProof backend, I am getting a service down message when I try to access myTrezor.com. This has happened before they should fix shortly, I would not worry about your bitcoin if the transaction is showing in blockchain.info it will show up in your myTrezor.com wallet when the issue is fixed.
