I think holding about 5% of your bitcoins into ETH makes sense now just in case.
Maybe 10% if you actually believe in it more.
I still have my doubts about ETH but it's track record is speaking for itself.
Support for Ethereum isn't slowing down at this point.

Lol, I remember when the bubble was about to burst every day and to this day "bitcoiners" are still in denial, yeah, 5% will do it, please, right now anything that's not 50-50 or something like that it's a joke and if you ask me, the upside for ETH is huge compared to BTC, do you really think it will pass $500 easily? I mean it could but I doubt it and I can almost guarantee it will never pass $1000 ever again unless some sort of miracle or paradigm shift happens. On the other hand, Ethereum with each new release and improvement, news, deals, dapps can easily reach $20 in the next 3 or 4 months (which is not a completely crazy price considering all the interest in it), that's easier than BTC going for 1K. I won't even predict non-realistic prices like $50 or $100 but hey, there's a chance for that by the end of the year or next year too if you are very optimistic.

Weak hands.
Strong hands is often what bad traders tell each other they possess when making the wrong moves. You closed your position on a Gatecoin hack and ETH went up. Weak hands. Why was your ETH stored in a hot wallet anyway? As I said, weak.

ETH went down in case you didn't notice. I am also trading rather than investing in ETH, so I keep them on the exchange. My goal is to maximise my BTC holdings at this point. Btw:I'm in a long term hold position. It's too volatile to speculate. For me anyway.
The great bit coin monetary experiment is over. All that's left is to switch off the bit coin servers.
Strong hands!

This DAO thing is a total pyramid that is going to cause all kinds of crap to go flying in cryptocurrencies when it it blows up.

Absolutely, we have to take advantage by day trading in this ETH, I am pretty sure after the DAO release the price of ETH will be falling back and that is a scary thing to happen for those who believe that ETH is not overvalued.

It might be all crypto, but ETH would be worst affected by it? DigixDAO is down 18% in the last 24 hours.

No worries. There will be more DAO which will also use Ethereum. There will be more apps based on Ethereum.

there is no reason to buy etheruem, because mining them is more profitable, if you have a big farm, better to mine you can get more ethereum for half the money, but with a small rig better to buy because you cna accumulate faster, if you think a new pump is coming

Do we have any cloud mining sites which have popped up? Looks like they could generate quick profits.

Eth is going up again. I am still not moving BTC (back) into ETH, as I am still expecting it to go down. But I must admit I didn't expect this (anymore) after the first big drop in value. I would have wanted to
I am happy Bitcoin is no longer moving down when Etherium goes up. Does that mean Etherium is now more bought with fiat directly instead of with Bitcoin? Currently both coins go up, Etherium goes up faster than Bitcoin increases against the dollar, but Bitcoin is less volatile.

The market is indicating strong buy signals in ETH and its price is heading northwards very strongly now. This is last chance for the naysayers to bag some cheap ETH.

My theory would be that we are now seeing some Chinese exchanges buying some ETH in order to have liquidity for launching their own markets. There is enough smoke around the OKCoin rumor to assume that it is likely they will be in the game soon. Similar to what we saw earlier in the year where the rise was largely driven by exchanges like Kraken, Bitfinex, and Gemini buying to build stock. Likely when the Chinese exchanges actually announce support for ETH markets, it will be a non-event because the buying to support those markets has already happened but we are seeing the effects now.
"Bad" timing for them though since supply was just reduced by 15% in the previous two weeks due to the DAO.

Sure, if you think that that you can gain some profit. But for me, I'm not going to move some BTC into ETH.

Will those DAO Ethereum come back to the market in the future? Well many invested in DAO with the rate of 1 ETH = 100 DAO when the price per ETH was sub 0.02...so I think many tokens will be burned back to ETH if the price is above 0.03 after the creation phase. However it's hard to predict how will it all play out, burning tokens without proposals make them more valuable for the remaining holders since there will be less. A possible scenario is that many will burn dao tokens and cash out their ETH, this will make ETH price drop a lot but increase the price of the tokens, so it's a catch 22.

Hm, how are DAO tokens burnt? I presume that's not something you can do as a holder of an IOU?

Eventually yes, the DAO will spend them to buy contracted work. How fast that happens is kind of anyones guess at this point. Its likely to be fairly slow, and since everything is done transparently, any big shifts will be know about a significant amount of time in advance.

Hm, how are DAO tokens burnt? I presume that's not something you can do as a holder of an IOU? I'm not quite sure how it all works technically, but if you split from the DAO before any proposal is approved, you just get your ETH back and the tokens themselves are burned forever. I've invested some for trading and others for long term since nobody knows what will happen, and that for me is always a good thing. I definitely wouldn't touch ETH right now though. yefi, are you still a skeptic on ETH? We discussed this "bubble" for too many pages in this thread haha.
