Can risers with SATA connectors handle ETH+Dcr power use at default (no underclocking)?
I have power reserves, but afraid that risers might give up.

Anybody with sapphire Nitro 470RX 4gb, 8gb and/or MSI RX 470 4gb gaming X ON RISERS doing this double mining at the default power?

470s should be fine, 480s might get hot (assuming your talking about adapters).  dont put more than 2 per cable.  run it, then after a few minutes, check if the wires are hot.  check a few times over the first day just to be sure.  if they arent hot, you are good.  if they are really warm, then you need to change your setup Sad

I would recommend looking into some sort of under-volting/underclocking if going this route. I have been testing dual mining on a 5xRX470 rig and power draw went from ~600 watts Eth only to ~800 watts ETH+DCR. I am using a modified vbios with -100 mv undervolt and not pushing the clocks too hard (1100/1850), so I would expect default settings to be a lot more power hungry.

Yes you can dual mine even high intensity with powered risers.

I try not to use more than one cable per riser. I don't like putting 2 risers on one connection.

Hmm, i tested newest clyamore 9 on my RX470 and i see performance decreese from 171 to 167 MH Sad
I will do more tests.

OLD CLAYMORE 8.1

NEW CLAYMORE 9

What do you think guys about this ? Is it only numbers and real speed is the same or is it worse speed ?
Worse speed due to driver. I already told him about the diff 470/480 in linux/windows, while 470 appears to perform better on linux, 480 does better on windows, that was only seen in his miner.
Sgminer and Zawawa's GG did the same for 470s. That being said I think my 470s are now losing ~1MH and power usage is normal again.

MSI Armor 470 4G Samsung memory: GPU3 28.685 Mh/s at 1126/2050 cl v9.0, GPU3 29.462 Mh/s same clocks v8.1, 28.7 GG v1.0-pre6 with asm enabled.

V9 claymore

Remote manager v 2.8 I'm having a few issues with this.
On V2.6 I can set up the remote manager on a different pc and monitor all my rigs on it.
But with V9 claymore I can no longer monitor them . I have tried running v2.8 remote manager on my "controller pc" but its not detecting my miner. V2.6 does not work either with V9 claymore.
If I run the remote manager on the rig itself then the remote manager detects the rig. But inputting the same rig information on to the remote manager on a different pc on the same network the remote manager see's nothing and shows my rig as off line.

Whether you ETH solomine, dual mine, or even overclock your RX series it makes no difference in the amount of power from the PCIe motherboard slot because it only powers the memory, the rest is taken from your PCIe 6/8 pin power.

I think it always used 50 Watts last time I measured the current.

In my opinion 50 Watts is too much going thru SATA. It was ok with a R9 280X because those used max 25 Watts from the SATA connection, with a RX its never a good idea.

THX very much Claymore. My DCR speed at -dcri 40 almost doubled, while ETH only lost about 0.5 Ms/s.
Great work!!! Now I just need a better CryptoNote CPU miner without -nofee option to speep up XMR-mining.

Picture or never happened.

Personally, I have no hashrate gain with version 9.
Eth + pasc.
-dcri 17

I noticed a drop in consumption on my rig rx480 reference, -20 to 30 watt on rig.
But nothing with my rig nitro +.

I see a little gain on my rx 480 sapphires
-dcri 9 if I go any higher or lower I see a drop
Whilst its only a small gain maybe 1mh/s in total

My main concern is the remote manger not working in V9 its very important for me that I can monitor my rigs.
So at the moment I can not use V9 .
