Which is the best ethereum pool for Claymore, i use coinotron, but my hash rate fluctuates too much, and my ethereum count on coinotron is slow compared to gnoil for example. Is it normal, i do prefer Claymore is the best, but my minining rate is slo with it, maybe is the pool?

Thanks

Best Pools:

For <500Mhs is ethermine.org  can set the payout
For >500Mhs is ethanol.org cannot set the payout, but gives uncles occasionally

Good Luck!

Thank you, i meant to say, best pool to work with Claymore, as i state i feel that claymore doesnt get well with coinotron.

Thanks

I have been playing with both Ubuntu and Windows, any of you has a preference as which one is better for mining?
As far as I can tell GPUs in Ubuntu run cooler, don´t know why, the average of shares reported is higher on the rig working with Ubuntu.
Call me stupid but for simplicity sakes I would like to work with Windows but with this results it looks like Ubuntu is the way.
Any of you has seen this behaviour with the rigs? I´m doing something wrong?
The working temperature difference between the rig from one OS to the other is really big

Hello,

i have two rigs:

1. rig with 5 RX 480 8 GB sapphire nitro OC and today i add one 470 8gb. I make 177 mh, consuption is around 940 w/h( before it was 800w without rx470)

2. rig with 6 sapphire rx470 8 GB nitro OC with anoraks mode bios, i make 164 MHash, but consuption is around 920w/h, which is high if i compere with rig 1.

Do you think i can get less power for same hasrate?I mine only ethereum. I was looking on web page what to mine, but there is less power needed for a little less MH.

any advice? any custom rom suggestion, which is more power friendly Smiley

thank you for help

It is all same, luck changes so sometimes Coinotron is better. Go for pool closest to you, where you lose least shares.

Anyone have an experience with MSI Gaming Intel B250 LGA 1151,

I can get it to recognize 4 GPUS, but thats it. On it's viewer in the Bios is see's the others as plugged in, but in Windows I can't get them to be recognized.

Its probably very similar to the MSI Gaming 5 mobo. I have 7 GPU's running on it with no issue.

1. Go into BIOS and set PCI-e to Gen 1
2. Set PCI-e to 8x/4x/4x
3. Set Latency to 96 or one higher latency than that
4. Disable all unneeded settings like Audio, etc. (These all use PCIe lanes)
5. One GPU must be directly on Mobo.  I used a passive 16x ribbon cable for this
6. The other 6 cards are on Active Risers
7. Running Windows 10

So the mobo you have is probably similar so you have to split up the PCIe slot resources up in BIOS.  The problem is the processor only has 16 lanes to share that means a single slot so how manufacturers get around the processor limitation is they do a time sharing between all PCIe slots.  If you have a single 16x default time share it takes too long for it to share it with the smaller 4x slots on the mobo. Splitting it up to 8x/4x/4x means it shares 3 PCIe slots at same time.

You will need to use -gsm 1 at least for that many GPU's on a system.

The AMD Radeon driver would not properly run for Wattman settings unless one card was connected physically to the mobo or a passive riser.

On whattomine 470 values are setup with ETH bios mod (I think strap 1500) and 1050 core, 1870 mem, -0.1V undervolt.
GPU-z reports 0.9V on core.

Link to bios mod: https://forum.ethereum.org/discussion/10475/gigabyte-radeon-rx-470-g1-gaming-4gb-28-mhs-bios-mod

Hey guys,

Having a strange one here with v9 in dual mode...

Rig 1 : 6 x GPU (mixture of RX470 & RX480 4GB & 8GB) all bios modded
Perfect, ETH hashrate is 1 MH higher than before and before Decred has nearly doubled - well happy.

Rig 2 : 5 x Sapphire RX 470 (Ref) all bios modded
DCR hash rate has nearly doubled as in the other rig but ETH has bombed. Gone from 28+ per card (with v8.1) down to 20 - 21 MH.

I've tried tuning the dcri (if I go up the DCR rate increases and ETH drops, if I go down DCR  drops AND ETH drops).

If I disable DCR mining the ETH hash rate goes back up to 28+ on each card.

Both rigs are running via VNC with HDMI dummy plugs if that helps.

Any suggestions?

** UPDATE **
Just tried -asm 0 and 3 of the cards are now running at 28+ again but two of them are still way under performing..

With -asm 0 :

Code:
GPU0 28.279 Mh/s, GPU1 23.385 Mh/s, GPU2 28.688 Mh/s, GPU3 22.781 Mh/s, GPU4 28.249 Mh/s

with -asm 1 :

Code:
GPU0 20.932 Mh/s, GPU1 21.144 Mh/s, GPU2 20.181 Mh/s, GPU3 21.051 Mh/s, GPU4 22.130 Mh/s

With v8.1 they were all at a constant 28+

Compare GPU Memory Controller workload in GPU-Z in both modes. if you see many gaps than this is the problem. Reduce CCLOCK and CVDDC.
Go +1 DCRI every 2 minutes from 20 to 50 and monitor GPU Memory Controller. When you see less gaps that is your sweet spot.

Try -asm 0 with lightly changing the -dcri option. During runtime you can modify dcri with the + and - keys. Try that, and monitor each card. The stable dcri is a little different for each card. I have one asus strix 470 4g that needs to be at dcri 28, and another that needs to be a 24.

Cheers bro, I have tried tuning at runtime (see above) but wasn't able to figure out how to to that for each GPU at runtime, only all of them at once. Is there a key combo to tune each GPU individually? I know you can specify separate values in the bat file but can it be done at runtime also?

Very easy. For 6 cards rig press number from 1 to 5 to turn the mining for 5 cards, leaving only one card #0 mining. Adjust DCRI and write it down. Repeat the same for card #1 and etc. Combine your note to create a string for DCRI: - dcri 25,21,50,42,37,36.

thank you for help

-Custom ROM does not make the card power friendly.
-Modifying Voltage and Frequency do. You can set the values in config/bat file which is more convenient.
-Set "-cclock 1000" and "-cvddc 950"

Hi Claymore, RX580 8G is not working good in stock just giving 22-23 Mh. Is it because your miner does not support this card yet?

That is as expected for a stock Polaris card.

I don't have any 5xx cards yet. Does miner recognize it as "Ellesmere" and apply "ASM" algorithm? PM me the log file.

Please read Readme and FAQ in the first post of this thread before asking any questions, probably the answer is already there.
