I have migrated all my Bitcoins to a Segwit address. But now I can not claim GBYTE with my BTC balance? Right?

Right, you cant get them with segwit address. And you cant claim retroactively.
Will that be implemented in the near future? And please check out https://byteroll.com/. It is not reachable the whole day. Seems like webserver crashed.
It will get implemented as soon as there is a standardized way to sign a message with a SegWit address.

This is not a ByteBall issue but you can help by bugging the SegWit community/developers until they standardize a way to sign messages.

Our family was terrorized by Homeland Security.  Read all about it here:  http://www.jmwagner.com/ and http://www.burtw.com/  Any donations to help us recover from the $300,000 in legal fees and forced donations to the Federal Asset Forfeiture slush fund are greatly appreciated!

Unlike traditional banking where clients have only a few account numbers, with Bitcoin people can create an unlimited number of accounts (addresses). This can be used to easily track payments, and it improves anonymity.

So i downloaded the Light wallet to test it out and it worked great, and now i would like to use the Full wallet

Only problem is that when I delete the wallet, and re download it, it remembers the Light wallet and won't give me an option to download the full wallet.

I'm using a Mac (OSX)

any solutions to this? (don't feel like reading through 850 pages of ANN)

There's no difference between the light and full wallet other than that the full one will try to download many GB of data which will make you complain here that it takes ages. Stick with the light wallet and you will be perfectly fine.

True.
Forget the full wallet, is has the same functionnalities but needs a lot of time to fully sync the whole database.

On Linux the data directory is ~/.config/byteball. I don't know where it is on OS/X. There's also ~/.cache/byteball which may or may not be important.

If you rename those directories, the wallet will forget whether it is a full or lite wallet and will ask you again. It will also forget all its private keys, etc. so be careful. I always rename the cache and config directories at the same time but don't know if it matters. And only when the wallet isn't running.

RaiBlocks, IOTA and the Undervalued Byteball

To help fix blockchain issues, new technologies are emerging on the market, known as data acyclic graph systems (DAG). New cryptocurrencies have emerged, such as IOTA, RailBlocks and Byteball. The systems upon which these currencies are based allow users to further leverage the potential of the technology.

Byteball has a lot of benefits.

To find out more about it read: https://coinidol.com/raiblocks-iota-and-undervalued-byteball/

i thought DAG stood for: Directed Acyclic Graph.

Made me not want to read the article...

There seem to be a lot of "sponsored" articles on Byteball these days. Wonder who is footing the bill, while all Byteball holders are benefiting.  Wink Wink

Articles on the new airdrop process and Jumio's KYC are far more effective in increasing awareness about Byteball.

The new distribution looks interesting.
Have already been sending 1MB textcoins to friends. Will participate for sure.
Hope we can still get some more full moon airdrops for GB holders as well.

Brilliant! But I would change it slightly for more convenience and program logic where no UniqueID is required (why reveal privacy to somebody who doesn't need it!):
  • Person B starts the verification process. At some point the bot asks whether he wants to pay it from his funds or ask somebody else to pay for him. Person B has the option to enter somebody else's address (of person A, old user). If the address is not single address wallet, the user gets info, it's not possible and can enter another address. Possibly he could enter a list of addresses he would like to offer the deal to.
  • Person A gets notified in the client to pay the fee on behalf of person B and is offered to verify with Jumio if he hasn't yet.
  • Person A makes the payment (which makes him the referrer), with the guarantee the $8 are being used to pay Jumio if he is verified himself. He can still do it without verification just to help others.
  • Person B gets the verification link and finishes the process

This way you can post your verified address publicly and invite people to earn money, or send a mailing and describe the deal... and the snowball effect starts! EASY! This would give a true PayPal effect...

Then people could set up self-perpetuating funds (like on this forum, a fb group, reddit, wherever) and it would be a VERY ATTRACTIVE model also for the exchanges to use this to generate more revenue... And the price of Byteball would grow accordingly, so it could turn into a never ending story...

BTW: there should be also a way to generate deeplinks into the bot (Google Fire) with your address as referal to automate this process and just send people invitation links, and then the bot recognizes it and makes it for people really easy without asking any questions about payment. Just informing people: "The fee of $8 will be paid by your referer... Say thanx to him" Smiley
The link that you as old user would post would look like: http://byteballwallet.hdgll.heiwe/verify/ref/0ASe.....E3 or whatever your byteball addrress.

Then, also download/installation referer links could be offered to install the byteball wallet:
http://install.byteball.org/install/ref/0ASe.....E3 or whatever your byteball addrress
This would install a wallet with referrer set as your address.
When then the user wants to later verify, you will be offered to pay for verification (but the user will have also the choice to pay himself or ask somebody else to pay for him).

You could send out these links out of your wallet automatically like you do with textcoins.
This would be a REALLY EASY no brainer tool for newbies to help grow the community and earn money doing it.
Everybody could do it! No skills required. "Invite your friends to Byteball and earn money"

Byteball user base would explode in size with this tool. And Byteball would become for many the first crypto to get in touch with. Then, when they try other cryptos with their shitty interfaces and slow payments, high fees, they would bring the good experience they made with Byteball into consciousness of the mainstream...

Tony! What do you think?

I am not tony, but would like to attach my thoughts anyway. Basically, I think the proposal is not bad, always interesting to read new ideas.
However, we have to be careful that a "mass advertising" can pollute the "Byteball" or "Bytes" brand (keyword "SpamCoin").
Between fair distributed (Airdrop) and SpamCoin is only a fine line.
Thats why most ICO's perform such actions only together with buybacks (i.a. wcex etc.).
Otherwise there are very negative effects on the perception of the value.

I think Tony is not interested in growth at any price - it's not about creating the fastest growing bubble.
Like the (early) BTC, Byteball is not a coin driven primarily by advertising.

However, I realize that there is a (potentially large) market / need for such applications.
And Byteball should show that it also has efficient solutions in the context of advertising.
In this environment, however, I would advise to use more Blackbytes.
Blackbytes are not as liquid as bytes. The receiver must have bytes to use the black bytes.
Superficially, this is a disadvantage for use in this context.
But it has many positive effects: dumping is not so easy, it is a minimum of know-how necessary ->
The receiver must deal with Byteball (Wallet / Byte / Botstore), so he makes a kind of PoW (POW = value).

In sum, one can achieve such a positive effect without having negative effects on the advertised coin (i.a. Bytes, TC etc.),
at the same time BlackBytes become more popular

Sorry, new users HAVE TO get the best user experience possible with Byteball and Blackbytes are a suboptimal choice to do it. They are just too bulky and can't be restored with the seed key. A no go for newbies.
BTW: I don't think you know what Tony wants. Please don't try to influence the discussion by personal arguments. This doesn't help objective discussion.

Number of users is CRITICAL for every coin. If we get from 10,000 to 100,000 users, the value of Byteball grows by the square, so by 100! And price follows the value in the long run. If we get from 10,000 now to 1,000,000 users, the value will grow by factor 10,000!
It is also CRITICAL for the attractivity of Byteball for merchants to resolve the egg and chicken dilemma. And the linear scaling (by subsidizing it with upto $40) will actually bring more value, than it costs.

Let's say we want to acquire 1,000,000 unique, verified users from the community fund for $40 each ($20 for the user, $20 for the referer). It will cost $40,000,000, out of $200,000,000 in the community chest. But at the same time the value of the network will grow 10,000 fold. If the current market valuation is right. The value of Byteball would grow to $6 TRILLION! Let's assume Byteball is ridiculously overpriced right now and it's real value is only 1% of the market price. Meaning: $6 million. Then the valuation with 1,000,000 users will be $60 billion. Still 100 fold more than the current valuation. and the community chest will grow from $200-$40=$160 million to $16 billion.
So: the value of the chest will grow faster than what is spent for subsidizing new user registration. it is a NO BRAINER!

As a nice side effect: Byteball would become the ONLY crypto with this number of verified users tied directly to the wallet. A precious USP in the crypto jungle!

I envision a button "verify your identity and earn $12" in the wallet inviting for ID verification. After the verification it changes to "invite your friends to Byteball and earn $20". An extremely powerful tool in grassroot marketing. It would capture entire India within months, like Hotmail did.

Can the process be simplified that much to have the code be in the app already? Would be awesome!

I've written a step-by-step guide for the attestation process, and I'm covering the US$8 for new comers:
https://ecua.mobi/usd20-free-byteball/

I'll decide how long this will come for.

Are you saying I secretly manage both Byteball and Jumio and can decode Jumio's information to know which passport was verified for every address and therefore which bitcointalk account?  Shocked

Or maybe I just want the US$20 (minus 8 = 12) referral bonus while helping Byteball grow?  Wink

Or what exactly do you mean?

i was thinking about that you will know which byteball address is connected to which account here.
and if it will be visible which byteball address belongs to which person then all three things will be linked.

that all i was thinking and asking about.

EDIT:

Quote
Your real name and other personal information (date of birth, document number, country, etc) will be saved privately in your wallet, only a proof of attestation will be posted publicly on the distributed ledger. The very fact of being attested may give you access to some services or tokens, even without disclosing your real name. Some apps may request you to reveal some of the fields of your attested profile, you choose what to reveal and to which app.

well so it is not possible.
