I was wondering whether the bot capability could morph into something like a background exchange market - automated and all - to let people pay in anything to anything with Byteball as the carrier coin. So I pay you ETH with BTC by paying you - as payment transport layer - Byteball with the exchange of BTC -> Byteball -> ETH taking place fully in the background. That would be a hit (but probably extremely complex to code).

Hi Tonych,

If you add Serbian language, I can do the translation. Serbian is similar to Croatian, Bosnian and Montenegrin (in the way Austrian German is similar to Bavarian German, for example), so that should cover those countries too, until a proper translation is done by someone...

I'm confused, which Serbian should I add?

https://i.imgur.com/7XkgF09.png

To make things simpler, I suggest you go with Serbian (Latin).

Serbian (Cyrillic) is mostly used in Serbia, so Latin is of greater use to people in Croatia and Bosnia, I guess, while still perfectly understandable by Serbians and Montenegrin. Also, Serbo-Croatian (or Croato-Serbian) is officially no more, so I would avoid it, not to spark political debates. If we use Serbian (Latin) now, everyone in Serbia, Montenegro, Croatia and Bosnia would understand it and you can add Croatian, Montenegrin and Bosnian later, when/if translated.

Personally, I don't mind either way and changing a text from Latin to Cyrillic is literally just one click.

For every 16 BTC you receive 0.1 GB (1 gigabyte = 1 billion bytes)

IMO, the 16 BTC to 0.1 GB should be adjusted to encourage more community participation on the airdrop. Rationale is that the btc price rose a lot since the airdrop started.

It is better to buy some Byteballs for the same reward.

Tony said there will be a new distribution model for the next round. I just wonder if I can receive GB for holding GB.

Until Tony actually spells it out, we can only speculate about the distribution model. He has stated that the airdrop was an expensive way to attract new users. But if there is an airdrop, I certainly expect it to benefit GB holders more than BTC holders.
I suspect that the distribution could be used to help those who actually transact using Byteball, to buy /sell actual goods and services.

Now we have the first name registry recognized by the main hub.

The registry is operated by Peter Miklos (@pmiklos on slack) who also runs Byteball Asset manager at https://byteball.market/ and a similar bot.

This is the registration policy https://docs.google.com/document/d/e/2PACX-1vQnpiwTipnBgrhSJcELOYYAOa3mTLZbmLmOebbtHFJFrfgHtlsNNZ9MPEGafvtuTnVAyfWukwu_hYSB/pub

One of its recent registration records: https://explorer.byteball.org/#IYeNVOvVeP8X9hDx3LgPu48MCTVbeo8S/NJM0vIAY14=

Once a name is registered, it becomes visible  in the wallets updated to a recent version.

Contact Peter on slack to assign human readable names to your assets.

You got a folder called byteball-linux64 somewhere, replace it with the new version after extraction. You wallet data are stored elsewhere in yourhome/.config/byteball.

After the March airdrop, the remaining Bytes should go on equal parts to the community fund, a new marketing fund and a developer fund.

And all the translators should get some Bytes! Those guys are amazing!

The advantage of ByteBall is also its biggest disadvantage  - the total token supply, with such low supply the investors are happy but it harder to user many zeros in front.

That is the first impression, but then you realise how many billion token you are sitting on when you think in bytes. And how undervalued it still is.

the problem is people have unit bias. if everyone wants a GB they will choose cheaper looking coins like ripple. the mass, unfortunately, at this time does not look at total supply.

Hi, this seems to work for me:

How to install ByteBall in Linux:

1. Download to Downloads Folder (or another directory)
2. Open Terminal, type:cd Downloads/
3. Type: unzip byteball-linux64.zip  (file is unzipped in downloads folder)
4. Type: rm byteball-linux64.zip (orig zip file is removed) (still in Downloads folder)
5. Type: cd byteball-linux64/ (now were in the ByteBall folder)
6. Type: ./Byteball &
7. Wallet starts ....

I'm really wondering why this platform is getting better and better every day and not getting pumped as high as RaiBlocks or IOTA? Considering what has been done, Byteball should cost at least 5 times higher than it is now.

Meet new merchant in Byteball cashback program: HJC's Online Shop based in Canada

https://hjcs.myshopify.com/blogs/news/cashback-program-is-here

- Outstanding work on so many fronts Tonych & team.
It's wonderful to watch wow beautifully ByteBall is coming together.

Perhaps something is already in the works, but if not, it would be a huge win if ByteBall were to partner with https://www.shopify.com
We've got a great offer that I'm sure could appeal to many thousands of their merchants world wide, just like HJC's Online Shop.

All the best!
