Yeah, 40% = average shares.
Is luck the percentile? ( exp (-shares/difficulty))

If so then shares = difficulty (which is the average shares) is 36.8% luck.

But 36.8% is not average luck. If you take the different luck values and calculate the average, it should be 50%.

Well, 36.8% explains a lot.   I was wondering why we were always hovering just below 40% . I could have sworn you posted 40% awhile back... I'll have to dig through the previous threads.  Yes, I'm using (exp(-shares/diff)).

I fixed the calculations and colors now.

If you're searching these lines for a point, you've probably missed it.  There was never anything there in the first place.
Even in the event that an attacker gains more than 50% of the network's computational power, only transactions sent by the attacker could be reversed or double-spent. The network would not be destroyed.

This is the unluckiest time ever  Cry

I love EclipseMC but, hate this days when luck leaves us...

"Avg Luck: 29.57% (40% is median)"...

BTCGuild is out of question... Anyway, I'm looking for a syable PPS 0% fee pool... Anyone knows a good one?! Please, PM me...
Sorry Inaba... To ask this in your thread...  Sad

GPUMAX, though it's invite only and requires renting out hash power, pays more than the current 0% PPS rate. ABCPool has a 4% rate, but they pay for stale shares and invalid blocks.

I really liked EclipseMC, but the irregular payouts became a problem for me. I'd be glad to pay a fee for PPS, Inaba, so just know that if you implement that in the future you'll have one extra customer...

First, I have to admit that I haven't been following the threads for a while.  So I really don't know what's been going on.
I've been using the us.eclipsemc.com server for several months.
Quite recently I could no longer connect.  I switched over to the eu server until the us server came back up but shortly thereafter I couldn't connect to it either.
I looked at the eclipse faq and saw that I was supposed to be using us1, us2 or us3.  I switched to us2 and was able to connect again.
Last night about 9:15 I lost connection again and still can't ping any of the servers but I don't see any mention of it in the forums.
I wondered if Comcast is blocking me but I don't know why they would or how I would test that.
Anyone have any idea what might be my problem?  I mean besides being an idiot.

This is kind of strange.  What IP addresses are you getting for us1, us2 and us3?

If you're searching these lines for a point, you've probably missed it.  There was never anything there in the first place.

Hmm, they respond to pings and are up right now.  Can you do a traceroute to any of them?

tracert in windows

Your traceroute is the same as mine, except for one thing. For some reason, you're never getting to Inaba's actual server. On the line below 69.30.209.1, you should see 208.110.68.115; the actual server IP. Check any firewall/IP blacklister (eg PeerBlock) settings to make sure it isn't being blocked.

Don't have PeerBlock on my machine and I haven't set anything for the firewall to block.

Thanks

Sorry, have a problem here at work I am trying to take care of.

BinaryMage is correct, it's stopping just before the server.  The next hop is the server itself.

Are you able to get to the website?

The only IP I am dropping from the server at the moment is 178.86.12.182, that's not yours is it?

If you're searching these lines for a point, you've probably missed it.  There was never anything there in the first place.

I understand that your problem at work is higher priority.
I can get to eclipsemc.com just fine and verify my rig at work isn't working.
I'm going to go home at lunch and try to ping from there.
I just tried tracert on a Windoze box and it also didn't get past 69.30.209.1
It's a CONSPIRACY!

Oh, and I don't think that's my ip address.

Something definitely wonky on your end, that IP is the same box as us1, just a different interface.

You say you were doing that from work?  Are they filtering it out perhaps?

The arp cache on that box might be munged.  Do you have the same problem from a different machine?

Greek to me

As I mentioned above, A Windows computer in the office also can't get there either.
Had no problem from home.  Something is blocking me from work.
Since I can ping and traceroute 208.110.73.247, is there a work around I could use?

I don't currently have any way to redirect you without using one of the IPs.  It's kind of strange that it's stopping at the last hop, but I definitely am not blocking any IPs except the one I already mentioned.  You are sure your outbound IP is not the one mentioned?

When I connect to speedtest.com, it shows an address that starts with 71.236.  So I'm guessing that's my outbound address.
After the original address stopped working and I found another, they work for a short period and then I have to find another.
It really feels like someone is watching my packets and blocking me.
